"Breads and pastries vary from traditional to gluten-free at this casual Scandinavia-inspired Goleta shop, with another location in Santa Barbara proper. Stop in for something sweet or savory with the family." - Farley Elliott

"Oat Bakery is a small Scandinavian bakery on Lower State Street that makes gorgeous seed-crusted bread loaves with organic ingredients, down to their sourdough starter. Don't expect to linger around with a coffee and pastry though, because it's not that kind of bakery. It's more of a grab-and-go operation where you pick up olive-studded focaccias and date-almond buns that you'll probably snack on in the car. The swirly blue and white sourdough is also a must-try, especially with the shop's vegan artichoke spread that should be generously slathered on top." - Sylvio Martins

So happy they’ve opened in Goleta! Highly recommend the rosemary olive focaccia :) We’ve tried several of their breads and pastries, they are all delicious! I also appreciate their veggie sandwich — perhaps the greenest and most flavorful veggie sandwich I’ve ever had.

Incredible bread, unique baked goods, and breakfast bites. Get the Danish Breakfast sandwich and add prosciutto and habanero jam - you won't be sorry. In session, the tomato toast is not to be missed. Cute but small outdoor patio seating, interesting high end options to take out spreads from the fridge.

Best bakery we have ever been to. You can tell it's fueled by love and pride. Had the cheese stick bread and the bean salad. Coffee was excellent too. People were nice and the little circular loaves were so tasty. Will be back again.

The best, most original bakery in the tri-county region. Real Danish-influenced flavors and great moisture content in all the baked goods. Love having this gem in our community.

We're regulars of Oat Bakery downtown but decided to go check out the Goleta location today and grab some bread and maybe a little lunch. At 2pm they were out of most of their prepared menu, but we were still able to get a Danish Breakfast sandwich and a Fava Bean Toast. So delicious, and perfect portions. We also tried a Lime & Salt Ghia Spritzer. Unexpected find! Service was great. Nice little outdoor patio that had some shade, where we could sit with our dog. And we found plenty of parking in the lot next to AutoZone.

Oat has been a significant anchor point to what is becoming the Boom Years of Old Town. The new parking options and pedestrian/cycling friendliness along Hollister makes this is a great destination. My only complaint is that I want Oat to be open from 9am to 9pm every day. More hours, please. Keep those ovens firing and that good coffee brewing.
