Oat Shop - Review - Davis Square - Boston - The Infatuation

"If you’ve only ever had oatmeal from a white-haired man’s paper packet, you might find the idea of an oatmeal cafe rather superfluous. But the bowls at Oat Shop, which come in both sweet and savory versions (apricot and almond butter or sriracha fried egg, for instance) are actually really good, and perfect as an alternative breakfast or lunch option. Plus, never having to worry about the sticky oatmeal boiling over in the microwave again is really life-giving for us. Oat Shop is currently open for takeout and delivery." - Joel Ang

The Best Healthy Restaurants in Boston | Bon Appétit

"Against all odds, Boston’s first all-oatmeal cafe has made Plain Jane oatmeal into a breakfast worth traveling for. Located in Somerville’s bustling Davis Square, theOat Shopfeatures a mix of sweet and savory dishes like the apricot, banana, and almond butter oat bowl and the house-made herb pesto bowl topped with avocado, kale chips, and pumpkin seeds. Certified gluten-free oats are available, and you can make any bowl vegan...even the one with "cheddar sauce," bacon, and egg." - ByMelissa Malamut

Fact: I love oat meal. Newly discovered fact: I love the Oat Shop!!! I cannot believe I had yet to try this place until yesterday! I walk past the Oat Shop everyday on my walk to the T & only just made time to pop-in- and wow am I glad I did. The convenient location is a huge plus but that is simply where the goodness begins. I ordered two oat bowls & a latte (with oat milk of course!). I wanted to try a savory (now) & a sweet (later). The service was friendly & informative. I asked a few questions about other goods the shop offered and learned they also have breakfast smoothies, an array of baked goods & over-night oats. Mostly all foods are sourced locally, all food offerings are gluten free (and/ or can be made vegan) & sustainability is at the core of this business venture (yay!). So- I took my food to-go in their compostable containers. After eating all of what I ordered I must say I was deeply impressed. The oats were the perfect texture & full of flavor. My favorite ended up being the sweet bowl, but the savory was a delightful change-of-pace for my breakfast routine. I will most certainly be back soon to try more! Definitely take the time to give this unique little shop a try.

I love oats and this is my favorite spot for healthy breakfast. One bowl is so filling that it keeps me full until lunch without snacking. You can choose of sweet and savory toppings. There’s good selection of tea and coffee too.

I've been wanting to pop into this place for a while and today I finally did. The staff was friendly, service fast, and food warm & cozy. Based on portion size the price is reasonable. This was my first savory oat experience and I'll definitely be back for more!

Great for early morning breakfast. Go early in the morning to avoid noisy union square traffic. We really enjoyed the nuts and berries bowl. Get an extra toasted coconut topping to make it even better. We also got the Sriracha and egg savory bowl. It was on point and very fresh. They are priced reasonably btw.

Friendly staff, awesome oats, great lattes, right at the edge of Davis Square. Wife and I go here whenever we can. On the weekends, parking is pretty simple, especially for breakfast. Lots of options for vegans, vegetarians, and those who are gluten-intolerant. Price is about what you'd expect from a speciality oat shop. Custom oats and espresso runs about $20 for two people

The guy working the front was very nice, cute, & patient, and he also didn’t judge me when I left my card in the reader on accident. 🥴

For a long time I walked past this place and wondered how it survived as a business serving 1 hippie food and nothing else. Today I tried it and found the answer - it's incredibly delicious! I had the bacon & egg oat bowl, and everything was cooked perfectly. Bacon not too crispy or too floppy, egg not runny but just barely. Oats soft but not mushy. My partner had the apple cinnamon oats, and they were also delicious. We enjoyed the ice tea - flavorful and refreshing while not too sweet. The smoothies and lattes looked tempting, but we didn't get them this time. We'll have to come back.
