The cooking highlights that floral-spice thread—think caviar with pineapple and cilantro and a chicken sando lifted by aji Amarillo—while signatures like the Burger, Obvio (Piedmontese beef, thick patty, brioche toasted with rosemary-butter, bourbon-infused peppercorns, white cheddar, pickles) and delicate shrimp petals (Maine shrimp piped into shiso, flash-tempura fried) show comfort elevated by craft; the latter pairs especially well with the Paloma Claro. "From the team behind Casa Cruz, Obvio is in Nomad, but unlike its Upper East Side predecessor, the new spot isn’t a members' club. Instead it’s a cocktail bar with clubstaurant touches, like giraffe-print walls and chevron-pattern carpeting. You can start your night with caviar sliders, and get some cinnamon churro fries from the “Happy Endings” (dessert) menu before you leave.
