We were a party of 12. Despite having the reservation for 9:30pm, we did not get our table until 40 min later. Also the table for a party of 12 was small. Things did not fit. We had to rush to eat things to free up space for the next thing. The staff was great, which compensated for the rest. I can't recommend the food. Except for the burger, the rest was quite average. I don't think it a good value for money. They have a large selection of drinks and cocktails. I liked the "Paloma Claro". The "Tamarindo Mezcalito" and "Carajillo" were OK but not great. Suggest ordering your favorite drink vs cocktail. The ambience was really good. Around 11pm a DJ started playing. We ended up enjoying the music (specialty the more Latin music) and enjoying ourselves

Beautifully decorated, unique strong drinks, and they even created 2 drinks based on what I liked. I also had the chicken satay which was full of flavor. The staff are exceptional and I plan to visit often being new to the neighborhood. Really fun night during Halloween.

I love how aesthetic it was and the overall vibes! It has a timeless and classy style from the staff to the layout. It’s like transporting to the 70’s or 80’s mid century modern glam. The food was amazing. I got the burger, fries, and guacamole (avocado smash) and I was not disappointed by any item. The flavor was perfect and the quality was excellent. I want to go back just for the burger. Otherwise the staff was extremely kind and attentive. I will be back again and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a fun night with a lounge vibe or if they want to celebrate in style. Gratuity is automatically added to your tab and there is no flash photography allowed inside.

The interior was gorgeous and the vibes inside were great. While the food was a bit overpriced in our opinion, we were having a great time till not even an hour into our reserved seating time our server came and told us the next reservation for our table would be here in 20 minutes. The reservation noted we’d have a 1 hr 30 min seating time so we were disappointed when we couldn’t order another round of drinks, nonetheless finish the ones we currently had because we felt rushed. We paid the bill (well over $200) and took our drinks to the bar to finish. To our surprise as we were leaving our table was still empty. Rushed for nothing. We had a great time before the incident and wanted to come again but the experience left a sour taste in our mouths.

I loved their Pistachio Carajillo. It was delicious. Overall everything was very flavorful. I’d definitely be back. The ambience is nice and the staff are friendly/welcoming.

One of the best martinis in the city. Basically a 3 for 1, and incredible staff that know the menu well. Gorgeous space with ample opportunities to take pictures. Fries great as well! Cute date or girls night spot. Unfortunately hard to hear with the music almost club level loud.

Great spot if you’re looking for a cute girls’ night out / date spot! The design of the interior is immaculate; unique sculpted bar, gorgeous light orbs at every table, and overall very photogenic. The food was okay, but a bit overpriced for the quality. I think if you’re coming here, it’s more for the ambience, vibe, and photo ops. Service was lovely! Our server was very professional from the very start, and continued to attend to us even as the night got more and more busy. Would definitely come back for the drinks and photos, but would hold off on the food next time!

I got a couple of glasses of wine here and thought that it was pretty good. We also ordered their charred octopus and fries and both were so delicious. I'm typically not a fries person, but I thought that the ones here (plus their dipping sauce) was SO good. Would definitely come back to try their cocktails!

I was really not inclined to come here. The name alone, and the photos, sounded like a Jersey Shore nightmare. Or, seen in a different light, it's like an old school smoke-filled room where decisions are made, except instead of old white men you have young finance bros and very sparkly young women, and instead of leather and wood you have giraffe. But the food and cocktails were actually very good. The waitstaff was super attentive. The food rundown: Fluke crudo--delicate and delightful Caesar--fine Caviar sliders--these were a freaking revelation. Roast pork--this is served a la peking duck, with a delicate wrapper, sliced veggies, and sauces. Really good. The cocktails were all fire: Obvio Martini Tamarind Mescalito Firing Squad

A bar for the girls - classy and picturesque. Food and drink wise I was unimpressed. Drink menu didn't stand out to me so I went for wine. We got some fries which were mediocre and came with a cold dip. Bouncer had a tone as well when we were checking in for our reservation and it felt unwelcoming. Staff was nice.

Whisical giraffe theme space. Friendly staff. At first I expected it to be more for the space/scene but cocktails were good here too, really enjoyed it. Fried Chicken Sandwich and Fries were great bites too. Would recommend!

Obvio is serving up some serious vibes, with elegance wrapped in a bold giraffe themed space. Have your coat taken upon entrance and sit back as the evening unfolds. My friends and I dined here on NYE and absolutely loved it. Everything on the menu is meant to be shared. We recommend ordering the Caesar salad, fried chicken sando, the burger, fluke ceviche, and the fries. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. We had the best evening. Highly recommend!

Ok, don't let the 3 stars fool you. Before I get into it, the ambience of the place is dark, sexy, and exclusive; I was in awe. As silly as it sounds, the bathroom stole the show; so aesthetically retro. Now to get into drinks and foods... ridiculously overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I've paid for overpriced drinks & foods plenty of times but I feel the menu items and prices here are SO far fetched for what you actually get. We ordered the tuna sashimi, 1 lemon drop martini, and 1 paloma claro... our bill was almost $100. The tuna sashimi was absolutely fresh but barely moved us. The price alone turned us off so we kept that as the only dish we ordered. The drinks were refreshing, but for nearly $30 each cocktail, your thirst goes away quick If you want cute pictures for your social media feed? Absolutely book a resy here. Now if you genuinely want to enjoy a few drinks and plates and feel well satisfied, weigh out your other options for spots.

5 stars for the space - the space was great. comfy, spacious, plenty of standing room if you want to walk in, and also some extra seats. While the cocktails were not standout amazing, they were delicious with no misses. The two we got were very similar flavor profile - paloma claro was super fizzy and my favorite of the two, but the passiflora was also light and fruity. Perfect for before a meal or in between!

The vibe of obvio is incredible! You feel like you're transformed out of NYC. It is very elegant. Perfect for photo opportunities. We went at 5pm on a Tuesday night and it was empty. Started to fill up around 6/6:30. The food was delicious. Specially the caviar and Caesar salad. I subtracted 1 star because the first drink I got was just okay. It was the pistachio one. I would skip it and just go for the regular espresso martini (which I had after). The service was also very friendly but kind of slow. We had to call over our waiter to order food. Regardless, would highly recommend to anyone visiting NYC. It's a beautiful place and not hard to get a reservation!

Service was awesome, everyone checked on us frequently to make sure we were okay! We decided on the snack trio to go with our drinks and we were set. The ambiance was amazing, the decorations were so cute and the staff had interesting outfits/uniforms! We had a great time here.

Obvio has gorgeous interiors! It's surprisingly big inside, as it does not appear to be that big from the outside. It has tall ceilings and a giraffe theme. The bathrooms are red from floor to ceiling with mirrors all around. Entrance is ADA accessible though unsure if the bathroom is. Down to the drinks and food - The drinks were good. I had a Passiflora. They don't have a large list of original cocktails and most of them are tequila based but I enjoyed the one I had. The food menu is a decent size and actually has some interesting vegetarian options. We only had dessert -the black out cake, which is actually served in 6 bite size pieces. this was yummy but overpriced at $28. Service was attentive and good, we went on a Tuesday night when it was pretty slow. Overall a welcome addition to the cocktail bars that line 28th Street. I would go back.

We came to Obvio, mainly because I love giraffes, and my cousin wanted to try it out, and I'm so glad we did! It's such a nice place. Honestly, they already had my vote just on the decoration and vibe alone. The moment you walk in, you forget you're in the city, it transports you into a completely different universe. I felt like I had stepped into an old movie, from the way the bar is set up to the way the waiters are dressed, it's a whole vibe! The appetizers were delicious, we had the fried calamari and the chips with salsa. We didn't have a full meal, mainly just drinks and appetizers, but overall, it was a great time. Definitely worth checking out!

Obvio is an upscale, elevated cocktail lounge/restaurant in the city. This place definitely provides esthetic pleasure. not going to lie, I saw this place online and thought it was so stunning and had to visit . Was having dinner in a bit in the area and decided to drop in beforehand for a drink. We arrived around 5:15 and basically had the place to ourself, on a Friday night for a few, until the crowd started to roll in. (It opens at 5) The staff wore red uniforms which really help them to stand out among the giraffe print motif on the walls. The service was great - quick and attentive. My husband ordered a beer and I had an espresso martini. Since we were eating after, I only ordered shrimp cocktail to eat. I love a good cocktail sauce! It was heavy on the horseradish like I like it! This place is beautifully furnished and had me in awe from the moment I opened the door. The place bathroom was so cool and made me feel like I was in space lol in the best way possible. Definitely would like to return for dinner. The prices on their food menu were reasonable in my opinion, for the upscale food they serve - there is waygu and cavier on the menu. I would love to come back for a date night and explore their menu more! Thank you, Obvio!!!

So cute inside but we didn't realize the drinks were all agave based. The martini was straight up alcohol so we had to ask for olive brine but our friends tried every drink on the menu and the tamarind one was super yummy. We all shared the dishes and my personal favorite was the flatbread. We also tried all the desserts and they were okay, but the restaurant was nice and gave us all free champagne because it was my friend's birthday. Wouldn't recommend coming here hungry.

Super cute bar & the drinks were great! I did not love the cigar it was a bit warm and didn't taste fresh. The service was fine as well it can get busier as the night goes. Highly recommend making a reservation but so cute for GNO or date night.

Obvio is the newest hip cocktail lounge in NYC, and it's already making a serious impression. The giraffe-patterned interior is absolutely wild--in the best way. The decor truly transports you to another world, and it's clear they put a lot of thought into creating a unique vibe. Drinks are definitely on the pricier side, but honestly, it's expected for a place that looks and feels this luxe. I tried the agave service (starts at $40 for 3 shots), which comes beautifully presented with a tray of citrus slices--lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit--and a bowl of corn nuts. Fun touch, but the corn nuts were stale, which was a bit of a letdown given the price point. That said, the service was great--friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. If you're into bold interiors, upscale cocktails, and a vibe that feels straight out of a design magazine, Obvio is worth checking out. Come in a good outfit and get some instagram pics!!

Obvio has a lot of potential--the drinks were genuinely excellent, and the tapas and appetizers were flavorful and well-executed. The space is beautiful, and there's clearly a great foundation here. That said, the service was extremely disappointing. To be clear, this isn't on the servers--they were doing their absolute best. Our server was handling over 20 guests across multiple large tables on a busy night, and it was obvious the restaurant was severely understaffed. We asked for a manager several times, but he never came by. Thankfully, the host at the front stepped in, comped a round of drinks, and offered us prosecco, which we appreciated. Still, the long delays really disrupted the flow of our evening. It's frustrating, especially coming from the Casa Cruz team, where I've consistently had excellent service in the past. Not sure I'd return unless management makes some serious changes.

Have you ever been to a bar and thought "man, this place is so cool, but I wish it was giraffe themed"? Ya me neither until I went to Obvio. Honestly, the giraffe theme was awesome and made for such a great topic of conversation later. My friends and I went on a Saturday night at like 9pm and we were able to get in without a reservation. They were kind enough to let us stay at a table since there were 5 of us until they needed the table for their actual reservations, but we were easily able to find a spot at the bar otherwise. As the night went on, it became packed! I'd definitely make a reservation just to make things easier. I got myself a Nolo Spritz which is a mocktail. It was pretty good, very citrusy which I love. Watching the bartenders make the drinks was so cool because it felt like they were doing science experiments right in front of me, especially because they are all wearing lab coats. I thought the drinks were a little expensive for my Nashville expectations, but probably not overly expensive for NYC prices. The bathrooms are a little weird and kind of trippy because they are all covered with mirrors. It is NYC so I wouldn't bank on finding parking nearby and it's probably better to just uber.

Zero stars actually. A joke. The investors clearly wrote a fat check that went into decor and digital advertising only. They can't afford to give you any actual FOOD. I'm rarely insulted this much for small portions and I do eat a lot at Michelin restaurants so I get it but - Obvio, get over yourself. $650 for three skinny girls to eat dinner. We left starving and went to fkn Cipriani (for non-NYers it's a higher star rating and they serve actual food). Two swampy mushy "wagyu" bites for $46 that's not even full wagyu (it's actually a little gross). Little baby tacos for $36 come in twos (so they tell you to get two orders). This is like full scamming. A few slices of Iberico Ham probably from Eataly sliced super thin with a razor came wjth 9 little tiny Goya olives LMAO. Calamari was maybe the serving size of the palm of a child's hand. The saving grace was the flatbread which we ordered at the end (and our server basically told us like, Yeah that's the only thing on the menu that could be considered filling.). Other things we ordered was the same deal btw. Then a robotic condescending 21 year old comes around, asks in a fake voice how was dinner (she doesn't care) and tells everyone to get up - you can't stay even 1 second past two hours. Told us and two tables next to us we had 9 minutes left. Going to your restaurant is like having an employee tell you they can't come to work all week because they don't feel like their dog's chakras aren't aligned - just effing laughable. I'll literally never come to your place again and from The sounds of other people I talked to - literally no one is coming back for seconds (what seconds lol). Can't really call yourself a restaurant if you don't serve food. Boqueria is a good example for you guys to study up and understand about tapas portions. Or go to Spain. Mallorca and Valencia in particular have excellent examples for your chef to study about how to prepare small yet satisfying & filling tapas portions (and worlds better than these wanna-be Michelin science experiments). I mean or you could just go to literally any tapas place in the lower east side. Oh also you charged us erroneously for 2 Aperol Spritzes no one ordered which is actual scamming, old school. I'm ashamed for you guys.

Grabbed late night cocktails here! The DJ was a fun element and the crowd was a wide range of ages. We were right under a speaker which did make conversations a little more difficult. Make sure to note that they have a late night limited menu. We really wanted the Caesar cups but sadly they weren't on it when we got there at 11pm. Ordered late night fries and guacamole. The fries were shoe string with a good dipping sauce. The drinks were good.

I've never left a review like this, but our experience at Obvio was genuinely disappointing. The hostess was incredibly rude from the moment we arrived. She didn't honor our reservation time which we were totally fine with and asked us to wait at the bar. We complied without any issue. A few minutes later, she suddenly stormed over to us, raised her voice, and claimed she had been "waving at us for five minutes." That simply didn't happen. The tone and attitude were completely uncalled for and set a terrible energy for the night. Everyone else seemed great, but the hostess has got to go. This kind of behavior has no place in a restaurant that wants repeat customers.

This is a vibey new intimate lounge with groovy giraffe themed interiors with a focus on tequila. The cocktail menu was limited to four drinks at midnight. The Passiflora and Obvio martini were definitely strong but honestly tasted like gasoline. The guacamole was fresh. The one server was difficult to track down and wearing a lab coat, giving mad scientist vibes. The DJ was playing cool ambient house beats to set the vibes. Overall a cool spot for photos and vibes.

This spot is so cool. Feels like the kind of bar you see in an hbo show about cool people in New York. I met the owner briefly, Juan, who gives "most interesting man in the world". The food was great, the drinks were great, and the vibes were immaculate

I stopped by with friends for a birthday outing and was drawn in by the decor and cocktails. I went ahead to see if our large group could come in and check the vibe (early Saturday afternoon in April). Instead of talking to me, a security guard got the host, who came out with a bad attitude, ignored me, and asked the group behind me if they were okay with a $350 bottle service minimum. When I said that wasn't what we were looking for, she called the group broke and walked off. If this is a club, they should make that clear. I won't be coming back.
