Seattle Restaurant Openings to Know for October 2025 | Eater Seattle

"An Italian wine bar in the former Chile Pepper space on 45th Avenue North, it even shares a name with the owner’s novel." - Harry Cheadle

Occhi Belli - Review - Wallingford - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Is this a wine bar, or an elaborate marketing ploy for the owner’s novel of the same name? In either case, you can get some small bites here in addition to glass pours, while pondering whether the tale of Luca and his adventures in Italy is worthy of your book club. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Gabe Guarente

Had a great experience at Occhi Belli. The menu was solid and the portions were generous for the price. Everything we tried tasted very fresh and delicious, especially the meatballs plus focaccia and mushroom bruschetta. We shared the penne shrimp pasta of the day and a bottle of Italian Nebbiolo — both were great. Really charming spot with fair prices. Definitely a must-go

Love this place. Tim is great, so friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. The prices are good. The place is clean, from front to back. Parking isn’t bad, at least on the Friday night that we were there. Don’t come expecting pasta, this isn’t that place. The tiramisu was deconstructed but excellent. The wine list is perfect with good prices. No Prosecco but the sparkling wine was BETTER. Yes, better. The person who picked this French sparkling knows what they are doing. Small quibble, it can get loud. But management knows it and is working on it. My new favored restaurant in the area.

We have been twice in one week, absolutely delicious! Tim, the owner, provides the best, most personal service. The gnocchi, bruschetta and focaccia, especially are to die for but everything was delicious - all made in-house! As I eat my leftovers from last night, I can’t help but say out loud “damn, that is SO good” 🤤 Thank you Tim! See you again soon 🍝

Felt like you could be in a little town in Italy here. The owner was one of the original owners of Brunello on Roosevelt. Occhi Belli is an enoteca-style concept named after a novel he wrote. What a cool story (literally). They have wine by the bottle and by the glass, delicious and affordable small plates, and service that makes you feel like family. I loved the NA sparkling! It was a spanish verdejo that wasn’t too sweet. My husband really enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass from Hightower made with grapes from red mountain. The menu is extensive so you can try a bunch of things and have a full-on dinner here. All great but we especially loved the focaccia, caponata, meatballs and gnocchi. Prices are some of the best in Seattle too

Google
randomly stopped by as it was one of the few restaurants open at 3pm. I was so surprised by how affordable the prices are. I don't drink alcohol so i can't speak to that but i ordered meatballs and the carbonara (the special for the day) and the portions were large and quality was great! honestly. It seems to be a simple high quality restaurant. I recommend it!!

Google
Had a great date night at this Wallingford gem! Really delicious gnocchi, focaccia (dipped in gnocchi sauce… yum), meatballs and beet salad. Definitely will be back to try more items on their menu!

Google
This is a new place in our neighborhood and it's the best Italian food to come our way! Great wines, a good sized menu (with lots of vegetarian selections) and fine service. They also have a happy hour each day! We'll be back!

Food was absolutely amazing! Tried so many dishes and desserts. Will definitely be coming back. The decor was inviting and really enjoyed looking at the photos on the wall. The atmosphere was enjoyable and exciting. The restaurant is quaint, charming, and exceptional.

Yelp
I have had the chance to visit Occhi Belli twice since its opening. My first visit I had the classic Caesar salad, the gnocchi with gorgonzola and a filet with veal demi glaze. All were excellent, with the gnocchi being my favorite plate. On our second visit I tried the soup of the day (a nice potato with pepper) followed by the meatballs and pasta of the day which was a ravioli. It was a perfectly balanced meal and the service was excellent. We sat near the windows up front and watched as folks strolled along 45th. Many poked their heads in to check out the new space :) Great decor, top notch service and a lively atmosphere coupled with exceptional plates. We will be returning soon!

Yelp
Delicious fresh light Italian fare, really cute location. Emphasis on fresh caught seafood and bright colors with well-balanced acids and cheeses. Service was attentive and friendly. They're a hot new restaurant perfect for couples with a great happy hour deal on wine. We had the Beet salad, carpaccio, and the Pesto Shrimp which was excellent.

Yelp
This. Place. Is. Fantastic. You really couldn't tell that they just opened. The menu is PERFECT as well as the food. The wine selection is also fantastic. We opted for the bottle of Syrah and it did not disappoint. The source of a good review is the food, but the source of a GREAT review is the service. Both of our servers were fantastic. Tim, who is the owner, was working in the house delivering food, wine, and JOYOUS vibes. I'm so excited that my partner found this place as early as she did because I predict this place is about to be the talk of the town!

Yelp
Tim and Matt were awesome hosts - we got there right as they opened and they were ready to offer us top notch hospitality RIGHR away. These two are a hoot! If you haven't had a chance to check out Tim's books, please indulge while you're there. The wine list is perfect and the specials felt special - I was so happy they had a carbonara! My girl friend and I stayed about an hour, never felt rushed, and really enjoyed the comfortable dining area, with the entertainment provided by Tim and Matt. Thanks guys!

Yelp
Excellent new neighborhood eatery with a great menu and friendly service. It was a treat to meet Tim, the owner, who took time to tell us his journey to make this such a special place. His wine selections paired with the food well, and this was a fun place. I highly recommend for Happy Hour, a lite bite, or a full meal.

Yelp
I want to love this new place, and hope they succeed because the neighborhood could use it, but the food needs a lot of work. We ordered curried mussels expecting a savory curry broth, but got six cold mussels with a huge dollop of a cold, thick, creamy curry sauce on top, that completely overwhelmed the mussels. Caesar salad; unremarkable. Funghi with pesto; OK, not great. The prices are moderate, so you can't expect extraordinary, but a talented kitchen could turn the same ingredients into much better dishes for the same cost. Go for the wine; not the food. I sincerely hope that they improve...
