Best Restaurants in Alpharetta, Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"Mentally, you’re on a Northeastern coast at this dreamy Halcyon restaurant, where whites and navies, light woods and ropes, and a big pergola patio work together to give that impression. Going with the theme, New England clam chowder, hot buttered lobster rolls, and cast iron crabcakes are good moves but don’t limit yourself to that region when bouillabaisse is in pasta form and you can get masa-breaded oysters on a sandwich. From the “acre,” there’s smoked then grilled pork with paprika-guava glaze and steak toppings that range from port wine to chimichurri." - Alex Leo-Guerra

Ocean & Acre quickly won me over, starting with a warm welcome and immediate seating during their Happy Hour. As a devoted oyster lover, I couldn’t resist trying a half dozen to start—and they were absolutely delightful. Medium brine, buttery texture, and plenty of briny liquor made each one a treat. I went back for seconds without hesitation. The Blackened Salmon Tacos were just as impressive. The spice from the salmon, the crunch of the slaw, and that tangy, house-made remoulade came together beautifully—bold, flavorful, and balanced. Great food, great vibes. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

There is absolutely NOTHING I can say negative about my birthday visit. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING was superb! The host Diamond and my waitress service was hands down top tier. I will definitely be back. Did I say I LOVED my experience? Lol ❤️. I had a birthday voucher so my meal was covered in case you're wondering why my tab was so reasonable.

My first time here was a great experience. Our waiter made a few recommendations and was spot on. All our meals pictured were delicious! Will definitely add to my regular line up. Even though a week before Christmas, there was a decent lunch crowd, mostly work groups. The food was fresh, hot and served quickly. I wish the weather was warmer because the outdoor patio area was cozy & beautiful. There was a good clean vibe; sea decor & planked walls; simple table settings and could accommodate different sized groups.

Wide range of options for a seafood lover. Tried oysters here for the first time and loved it. Very aesthetic presentation of food and prompt service by the team.

This is our favorite spot for business lunches and dinners. The service is always fantastic, and the food is incredible. We never have any trouble getting seating for our group, and it's just the right level of nice but casual to be comfortable if we're doing an unplanned team lunch or dinner with the CEO in town. Ocean & Acre is also a favorite for meeting up with friends for brunch or lunch. It's a great go-to spot for any reason!

Great spot for happy hour from 4-6. The Salmon tacos are tasty and the service is great, Shea was a great server ! Great patio too on a not so hot day!🤠

Google
What a terrific experience we had at Ocean & Acre! A friendly greeting upon our arrival and excellent service throughout, they just didn’t miss a beat. All this even though a “monsoon” swept through while we dined and the wait staff scurried to button up outside and also stop the windswept rain from coming in! You could tell they worked as a true team, with a focus on the customer. And the food! 5 out of 5 of us loved our dishes, which included both “ocean” and “acre” choices (as well as a kids menu choice for your 2 1/2 year old grandson). Shared starters and desserts were both crowd pleasers as well. Everyone in our group left full and smiling!

Ocean and Acre: Consistently Exceeding Expectations—Chef’s Kiss This was our third time dining at Ocean and Acre, and I can confidently say that this restaurant continues to set the standard for excellence in both service and cuisine. Having visited several restaurants in the area, Ocean and Acre stands out in every way—its impeccable food, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere create an experience that is simply unmatched. From our very first visit, the attention to detail in both presentation and flavor was undeniable. The redfish I had initially was spectacular—I didn’t think anything could top it. But tonight, I tried the blackened trout with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and it was absolute perfection—chef’s kiss. My husband, who typically orders salmon, decided on the hamburger during our first visit, and it left such an impression that he talked about it throughout our entire spring break in Seaside. When we returned home on Sunday, his first stop was Ocean and Acre—to get that burger. It’s safe to say that when a restaurant serves a burger so good it overshadows Five Guys, you know they’re doing something right. Tuna poke lovers, take note! The tuna poke is my absolute favorite dish—I could easily eat it every day. It was the first thing brought to the table, and honestly, I regret not taking pictures of the rest of our food because it was so good that I didn’t have time to think about it. Beyond the food, the service and management are consistently top-tier. Diamond, the manager, is exceptional—she goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a flawless dining experience. Her leadership is reflected in the entire staff’s commitment to excellence, making each visit feel like a truly special occasion. If you’re in the area, Ocean and Acre is a must-visit. And when you go, do yourself a favor—try the poke, the trout, or that unforgettable burger. And be sure to tell Diamond that Kesha sent you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars, every time. Chef’s kiss.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and enjoy our meal every time we come. The interior is unmistakably nautical. One of the light fixtures looks like a canoe and there are seashells decorations throughout. Whether we have a reservation or not, we're normally seated pretty quickly. There's also seating on the outside patio which is wonderful when it's nice out. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful and ready to make suggestions if you require any. The last time we came here was my wife treating me for my birthday. My wife started off with one cup of lobster bisque which she enjoyed and we shared the English Stilton wedge salad. I had the pan-seared red fish that I had prepared blackened. It was delicious. My wife had the cast iron crab cake which she liked a lot. Even though they have steaks, we always tend to get their seafood. We highly recommend giving Ocean & Acre a try!

Yelp
So far we are loving it as we enjoy happy hour. Our margaritas were FANTASTIC and made by Eric. Our happy hour appetizers were delicious. The shrimp on the shrimp cocktail were BIG and delicious!! The fried shrimp is on the tempura batter. Definitely smaller than the shrimp on the shrimp cocktail. The batter isn't to thick. The sauce that is comes with has a small kick at the end but nothing to unmanageable unless you just don't like spice/heat. Comes bedded with greens and they are yummy but no dressing. My happy hour margarita for $7 was so incredibly tasty. I don't like boozy but a blend of alcohol and taste and it was perfect!! Our bartender Eric was fabulous and we will definitely be back to enjoy the happy hour and hopefully he'll be bartending when we do return. Very kind, and helpful especially since we are new to Georgia. Now onto the restaurant, we are loving the outside bar. Sitting at the outside bar and it's relaxing, casual, and almost a feel of being on vacation. Our bartender said "it's the best outside patio on this side" and so far I agree. Tonight we will also be eating at the restaurant so I'll review that as well. Of course we are at the Halcyon and have enjoy being here. Lots of food choices and cool restaurants not to mention corn hole to play outside in the general area. To be continued...! Finally a moment to add onto my review after enjoying our dinner. The restaurant inside is very nice with a tropical feel. At times it was a bit warm since it was very hot outside. Our server was polite. My husband and I shared the Cod fish sandwich and very much enjoyed it. Simple with slaw, onions and a yummy sauce with hot French fries, which were very good. Definitely filling for us since we had already shared the shrimp cocktail and fried shrimp on the happy hour menu. Our daughter had the Waygu Beef Medallion plate. Said the meat was very good especially the sauce served on the side with her meat. She said it was "on point!" However the mashed potatoes were more on the chunky side, not smooth & creamy enough for her tastebuds. I don't think she was a huge fan of the asparagus either. The drink she ordered was the Beach Boy which she was told it was like a Pina Colada. It was tasty but very sweet. My son ordered clam chowder and also said it was okay. Again he said he is use to smoother chowder and felt it was too chunky for his liking. It was our first visit and more than likely, we will return at some point. Definitely my husband and I will return for happy hour.

Yelp
Went with family while visiting from NC. We had a reservation for 7:15. We got to Halycon early and got drinks walked around so the girls could run around and we could listen to the live music before dinner. We got to restaurant and Our booth was being prepared. Ordered our drinks and some appetizers. Calamari and crab cake. My husband had blackened snapper and nephew had fried snapper. Niece had shrimp and grits. I had the wagyu medallions with asparagus and mashed taters. Great nieces had a kids burger and the other had Ahi tuna poke. All dishes were prepared and presented beautifully. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Went with my family and got the salmon. Food was cold and lacked flavor. Ambiance and server was nice though.

Yelp
Halcyon is an amazing spot so it is hard to mess up where to eat. Had a great date night here. Marcus was our waiter and did a great job taking care of us. He was well aware of the menu. Great vibe throughout the building with windows open and people sitting at the open air bar. So cool. Open kitchen as well where you watch the cooking take place. I was impressed with the taste of the food as well. Had the hush puppies for appetizers. They were a bit greasy and ok. However my hamburger was outstanding with thin fries. My wife had the fish sandwich and said it was ok. The fish by itself was pretty plain but everything else made it good. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was amazing and the ambiance vibrant, but the food and drinks were below par. I wanted something beachy and ordered the "Beach Boy". It was tasty but had very little rum in it. My wife had a seasonal mule and it was too bitter to drink, for dinner, I ordered the fried shrimp and my wife the grilled swordfish. I received 6 shrimp of Popeyes-quality and my wife received a tiny piece of fish that was just 'ok'. I'm disappointed as we really need a top notch seafood place in Halcyon
google avatar

Yvette M.

Yelp
Took my friend for a birthday dinner girls night. Very good food, cocktails and service, including a little chocolate cake for her birthday at the end! We shared the hushpuppies, I had the ahi tuna entree and my friend had the scallop entree. Very light and airy space but it was quite loud and difficult to hear conversation, just a heads up. I would definitely come back here as well as try other establishments at Halcyon.

Yelp
I didn't expect to love my experience as much as we did. My wife is still talking about her steak. Mine was outstanding too. The wine list is approachable and has good options. The service was solid. The outside bar and seating was beautiful given the weather. Loved it.
google avatar

Yelp
Had dinner at this restaurant because it was recommended. We were seated at a wobbly table to start and could not be fixed. Service was rushed and very 2 star. No specials or welcome or recommendations. Menu was quite disappointing to be honest for a seafood centric place. Selection was poor. No daily specials. Heirloom salad was served with brown lettuce and missing ingredient in description. I asked if time was sushi grade - yes - was prepared terribly and then sauce was ice cold and the cut had so much gristle it was inedible. Replaced with "grilled jump shrimp " that were grilled shrimp cocktail about 21-25 in size. Overall disappointing for the price and location- I would expect more.
google avatar

Lena A.

Yelp
The ambiance here is charming and family-friendly. The service is excellent, and the food is generally good. The steak frites were outstanding, though the grilled salmon could use more flavor. The lobster soup, unfortunately, tasted overwhelmingly like butter. Despite this, the place is quite adorable.

Myra R.

Yelp
We enjoyed a birthday dinner & had absolutely a 5 Star experience! Our server, London, was outstanding as was the food of course. Fun evening! We'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Diamond and Ryan made our experience unforgettable. Our service was 10/10 above our expectations. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Loved: the "beachy" ambiance. The hostesses and waitress were so friendly. The berry mocktail....AMAZING. We were super impressed by the kids tender plate. I could not eat the lobster bisque :/ that needs a bit of work. My husband had the lobster roll and it was on the smaller side but yummy. The bathroom needed some tending... Overall, pretty good.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
This is a place we frequent often the food is usually delicious but it just takes longer and longer and longer each time we come. Tonight our server was great! She was helpful, attentive and everything was right. It just shouldn't take 2 hours for this type of meal. We ordered almost right away and didn't get dessert. Two hours is a LONG time! The kitchen really needs to work on timing and I noticed they added more seating outside but they need to be able to accommodate everyone and keep things moving. Ambiance is good. Food is good. Servers are nice and knowledgeable. There's no reason why timing should be the reason for 4 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch again and they did not disappoint. The servers here are always so nice and attentive. Food was amazing as well. I also love that they make things quick! Truly a diamond in the rough.

Yelp
We normally go to restaurants at Avalon but had heard mixed reviews about Ocean & Acre and thought we would try it out for dinner. Firstly, Brittany was a very nice waitress but runners bring the food out.. They needed to be did followed up on with their service. The drinks were good . The Lobster Bisque had a sour cream dab plopped in the middle. OH no not that! Oops the runner forgot the soup spoon and never came back with it. Had to locate Brittany to bring one. The fried oysters and raw oysters were excellent. The surf and turf was prepare very well and so was the Lobster Roll. We both ordered a side of broccolini. The problem was they were so big they were not tasty. I
google avatar

Aryn T.

Yelp
We thought the food was just ok. The highlights were the grilled fish, fish sandwich, and the Cesar salad. The lobster roll was a good size! The service was not good, the waitress said we couldn't sit at a table booth, even with a reservation, because we didn't have 5 people in our party, but we had 4. They then proceeded to offer another table the booth who had a party of 3. I think they need to work on customer service if possible.
google avatar

Chi C.

Yelp
Went from "let's just poke our heads in" to one of my new favorite places real quick! Started with the New England Clam Chowder... Absolutely delicious. I'm a huge chowder head and I already want to go back not even 12 hours later. Anyway... We got mussels and a crab cake which were so dang good. The GM overheard me and my friend talking about searching for the best scallops and he brought us some!! And of course they were SO DANG GOOD! It was me and my friends birthday over Thanksgiving so it sort of got overlooked but the crew made us feel so special and happy. (Thank you guys!) You can tell they have the "well oiled machine" thing going on. So of course I'll be back. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

VM A.

Yelp
Wait staff superb! Food not so much...Oysters were so tiny you tasted the bread crumbs more than the actual oyster. Barely no alcohol in drink. Too many flies on the inside. The salmon tacos were bland but the sauce saved it. The Caesar salad was good.

Yelp
Food: enjoyed the hush puppies and the lobster bisque- really tasty. However the fish sandwich was really greasy and not much flavor Value: priced okay- everything at Halcyon is a bit pricey. Ambiance: kinda busy- fun environment and music. Parking: plenty of parking in parking garage at Halcyon Clean bathrooms and restaurant.
google avatar

Auriel T.

Yelp
First I'll start wth the location of this restaurant is so cute. It's in the Halcyon and there are other shops and you can bring the dogs and kids. Ok so I came here for happy hour with my friend. They have a very appealing happy hour menu. Cocktails were about $7 each, the small bites were about $8. Oysters are a half dozen for $10. We also decided to try the lobster roll (not on the happy hour menu) and split it and it was really buttery and made fresh. I'm hoping I'm remembering correctly but our bartender was Eric and he was really nice and made some great drinks. I'll definitely be back for happy hour and to try their regular menu.
google avatar

Kayli D.

Yelp
Good location in halcyon, I love the indoor and outdoor seating. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. it was a little loud inside but the decor was pretty. The burrata app was good, more of a tomato sauce than I was expecting, but the bread was delicious. the hush puppies/fritters were tasty. and we loved being able to take the rest of our drinks to go!
google avatar

Kathie P.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The fish dip is wonderful. The salmon is incredible. The vibe is awesome.
google avatar

Yelp
Can here for some drinks and appetizers and everything was perfection! Customer service was great! Decor was cute. Can't complain at all. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
Every aspect of this restaurant was absolutely amazing!! The food was superb along with the service! We were served by Alex who had fantastic recommendations. We made a reservation and got seated right away. We even decided to sit outside since they had heaters which moved closer to our table. They even had little lamps for each table which you can tap for more or less light. There's plenty of free parking in the garage. We started with the Hush Puppies and the Lobster Bisque. We were sold on the Bisque after being told it's made from scratch in-house. Both were delicious!! As our entrees we ordered two of the Ocean Specialities: Shrimp and Grits and Scallops. The Scallops were cooked to perfection and came with a creamed corn spread and butternut squash succotash. The succotash was even better than I imagined!! We finished the meal with the warm Brownie Sundae. It was definitely enough for two people to share. I enjoyed it being so hot and gooey and the ice cream complimented it perfectly! We had such a great experience here and can't wait to come back soon!

Ali R.

Yelp
Worst dining experience we've had in awhile. Host was incredibly rude, food was overpriced and honestly just a joke, drinks were poor and inconsistently made. Service was mediocre at best and don't even get me started on the bathrooms. Ive been in nicer bathrooms in Captain Ds. Then after all that the restaurant cancels our reservation through opentable AFTER we already dined there, so didn't even get points for our abysmal experience. Wont last.
google avatar

Christophe D.

Yelp
The restaurant is ok but the price way too high. We took a fish and ships and a crab cake and it costed us $90!!!!!! The fish and ships was ok, the crab cake was good but really small (3 small cakes with a little salad.) So long, you are too expensive for what you provide
google avatar

Alexander N.

Yelp
I got an invitation to come dine here for my birthday dinner, and I've always been meaning to try it and boy am I glad I did. Upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly hostess and got seated immediately. Our server was very helpful with describing the menu items. We decided on a few happy hour appetizers, oysters, and the blackened grouper with lemon caper sauce (delicious). They then offered a birthday dessert on the house and we picked the key lime pie. All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend my birthday evening eating some delicious sea food. Staff/service: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Food: 5
google avatar

Freddy C.

Yelp
This restaurant was decent in the context of being in Cumming, GA, but they need to step up a few things. Service was good. Food - tuna was good, oysters were small but tasted fresh and hush puppies were decent. The filet had an absolutely overpowering "burnt" grill taste, which unfortunately ruined what seemed like a decent cut. The swordfish tasted like it was at the end of its shelf life, with a distinctly fishy taste. This was also served with a burnt taste and grill marks, despite being "pan seared". Staff said this was the normal preparation method, which doesn't make sense, grilling something that's pan seared. The kitchen graciously cooked another serving of the swordfish, but it had a strong fishy smell and taste. We decided not to send anything else back, but I heard the table behind had the same complaints about their swordfish to their server. For sure they have some work to do.
google avatar

Mehwish K.

Yelp
We made reservations for Sunday night for my birthday. For dinner, we got the raw oysters, ahi tuna tartare, seared Hawaiian ahi tuna, sword fish and hot buttered lobster roll. The Seared Hawaiian ahi tuna was a huge disappointment. I found maybe one piece of mango and pineapple in my "mixed greens" and no avocados or taste of mango vinaigrette. It looked just like the side of salad that came with the lobster roll. For the price, big disappointment and didn't have much flavor either. For dessert we got the lava cake with ice cream and creme brulee which were really good.
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
Ordered: Golden Hour Coral Sands Chargrilled Oysters NY Strip Surf Turf Drinks were terrible, tasted like juice in melted ice left unattended for many hours. It was very watered-down and did not taste like a cocktail at all. I doubt there was any liquor, if much. I would pass on the drinks. Chargrilled Oysters was not at all chargrilled...no flavor except from the sweet natural taste of the oyster. So the oyster would have been better left alone. You also get shell particles along with it so that you could chip a tooth so I had to be very cautious eating it, someone in the back is shucking it incorrectly. I would pass on that unless you want to visit your dentists. The steaks were cooked correctly, probably the only thing they did correctly all night, in addition to the taste of the mash potatoes(buttery and flavorful). Good job to the sides chef!! Brocolini was a bit undercooked but I'll take that over it being wilted. Back to the steaks, no salt...please salt your steaks chef! I shouldn't be expected to put A1 sauce here like Longhorn. The peppercorn sauce they provided was horrible, itself was not good nor did it compliment anything...better off saving those ingredients for something else. I would say I enjoyed my little lobster tail, very flavorful but so overlycooked, it was tough. Overall, service was subpar...waitress didn't seem enthusiast, expected me to resuse my utensils after putting them on the table, and had to be asked to refill my drink. My first time here and last time ever...$144 meal for oyster shells, unflavored meat, and lackluster experience.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
So great! A little spendy, but well worth it! We had oysters that were so delicious and the burrata that is to die for! Add to that two Scofflaw Basements and two Oceanside Margaritas and you have a fantastic happy hour!
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
The food is consistently good here but, too often the timing of the kitchen is off. Our reservation was early 5:30 so they were not yet full. We had 6 people tonight and our waitress Sophie was friendly, prompt and on top of everything that she had control over. Our order was easy, hush puppies appetizer and 4 of us ordered the black group dish and the kids had plain burgers. The food coming out of the kitchen was very slow and cost them a star tonight.
google avatar

Jaz'Min L.

Yelp
First time here and certainly won't be the last. Food was good and tasty. Beverages were quick and delightful. To be honest though, the prices for certain items were not worth the quality. $36 for the lobster roll but I've had better for less. Don't get me wrong, it was a good roll, but I'll stick to highland area prices on those. Fish and chips was delightful Clacks soft crunch perfect crunchy l bite Tartar sauce not too tangy. On the sweeter side and very creamy. Packed with flavor Fries cooked perfectly and pair nicely with a dip into the tartar sauce Oysters were so fresh, I swam. Or did I? Salt was minimal on the western to me and I loved it. One drop of the spice did the trick for me. Lobster roll packed full of tender goodness Caesar salad amazing light sauce
google avatar

Anissa C.

Yelp
The service and atmosphere here is awesome! I wish I could say the same about the food! I ordered the wedge salad and the fish and chips! The salad was GOOD! However, my main dish is fish and chips was tasteless! Absolutely no salt or any seasoning added to the batter. In addition, the tarter sauce was just as bland. I may come back and give them another try.. Maybe
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere inside and out at Halcyon. Good options for seafood including lobster roll, mussels, shrimp and fish. The burger is good if you're not feeling seafood as well as the wedge.
google avatar

De'Von F.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to visit Ocean & Acre and it didn't disappoint! It is located at the Halcyon which has so many options and definitely is worth giving a try. The vibes are amazing, they have a nice patio and overall we had a great experience. Service started out a little rocky, but got better towards the end. We started off with the hush puppies as an appetizer and they were pretty good. Not the best, but worth trying. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the burger. Both were really good. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had in Atlanta and it was hearty. Overall, a healthy, good seafood choice. Drinks were amazing as well and the food is priced great.

C S.

Yelp
The service was great, drink had very little alcohol, and the food was terrible. I ordered the crab cakes which had a little crab, lots of filler that were mushy and tasted like they were heated in a microwave, they for sure did not go from a pan to my plate. They were still cold in the inside. The ahi tuna was served in chunks and clearly had been frozen from the amount of water on the plate. The only thing good was the bourbon my husband ordered. It is beautiful on the inside but the food is absolutely terrible! First time in a long time I couldn't even eat what I ordered.
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
idk why this place has 3.7 stars, because it was AMAZING! The service was awesome, and my food was amazing! The steak with chimmichurri was the best!! Ambiance was very coastal and comfy!
google avatar

Todd C.

Yelp
They jumped the shark (or more like oyster) for my 1st ever visit. We arrived 90 minutes into the National Oyster Day celebration event (which advertised walk-ins would be welcomed), and we were denied a table by the host. He shared with my party that the manager had instructed him to tell customers they were no longer accepting walk-ins, that they were way behind in service, and there was no opportunity to accept reservations for a future time slot later in the afternoon before the end of their advertised oyster day event. Maybe try again next year. Maybe never again.

Patrick P.

Yelp
We had a friend who was celebrating her birthday and chose Ocean and Acre for her dinner. We had a great evening! Started with a round of drinks: I had the Golden Hour, which was fresh and delicious! I also had the OA Seasonal Mule, and the margarita which all were fresh and pleasant, given the weather and outdoor weather which was beautiful on their outdoor patio. We chose a few appetizers for the table, the tuna carpaccio, burrata, crab noodle cakes, and hush puppies. The hush puppies are spectacular, the sauce with it and chives are a tasty combination. The crab noodle cake is unique, instead of breadcrumbs they use vermicelli noodles and make them crispy. Came with asparagus and roasted tomatoes which made for a nice entree if you go that way. The burrata comes with a red pepper pesto which isn't for everyone but it has a really robust flavor that went well with the grilled bread. Finally, we loved the carpaccio but it's not a really great dish to share. Fresh and beautifully plated. Only two people ordered entrees, one had the shrimp and grits and loved it! Another was the fish of the day which was pan seared grouper which he loved also, not a crumb left on the table. Our server was great, around when we needed something but not overwhelming. Just all around great meal. The next time we will try oysters or some other items that looked good (calamari and mussels looked very good!)

Yelp
This is a gorgeous place with an even more eclectic menu. It was too cold of a day to sit outside, but their patio area with the fireplace, and comfy chairs and gondola adorned with flowers looked so good. I would definitely come back for a few drinks on a warmer day. My friend and I ordered shrimp and grits, and salmon with roasted veges and mashed potatoes. The salmon was perfectly cooked, seasoned and flavored but the real winner was the shrimp and the grits. The shrimp had a cajun barbeque sauce with it and the grits were creamy and well seasoned. The sauce complimented the grits so well. The service was impeccable too! Our server checked on us often and even recommended the dishes to us. Would happily come back for any occassion.

Yelp
Ocean and Average ... we visited on a Saturday afternoon, before any would be rush .. the overall area (halcyon) is a great spot with a great atmosphere. But, ocean and acre was just average ... the food (we had oysters, summer salad, steak and red fish) was average and the service was slow. The only bright spot was the staff was friendly and honest about the food. Overall just an average meal. I would pass on this spot .. way to many options in this area ..

Yelp
While the restaurant is located in a great environment and the venue ambiance is trendy and modern, the service and food leaves much to be desired. My husband and I had the scallops and the cod, shrimp and oyster platter. The food was poorly seasoned. The grits were cold and old. The service was extremely slow. It would appear the investment was spent more on the decor and should have been spent on hiring a good chef and more staff. If you're looking for a better experience in Duluth, visit the Seaside Oyster Bar instead.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon because I was craving grouper and wine! I strongly recommend the Burata with the red pepper pesto. The flavors unfolded with surprising delight. I can't quite describe the flavors but I know it was very tasty. It seemed like a waste to leave the extra pesto but we had a full meal arriving. My grilled grouper with butter and capers was nested on mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli. My only suggestion would be to present the grouper separate but that's just my preference. My husband ordered grilled scallops which he said was really good. We topped off the meal with a shared crème brûlée. We will definitely be back to try more of this amazing menu.

Yelp
Ordered the hush puppies and lobster bisque. Man. That bisque rivals some that I've had in New England. I sat at the bar. Bartender was really helpful and friendly. I went around 3pm, so it wasn't too busy. But the decor and vibe of the whole place was cool. I'd go back.

Yelp
Love it! Everything is so good! The steak and fries yummy! The service is nice, but the ambience is the best! You can sit outside or inside which is perfect!

Yelp
Enjoyable meal. The prices were quite high considering everything. The service was very friendly yet professional. The wine service was that of a sommelier. Although there could have been a few more interactions with our waiter, I did not tip differently for this gap. We had an appetizer of the whitefish dip. It did not come with very many chips compared to the portion of dip. We did ask for more but the delivery of them was delayed until well until into our entrees. We ate them without dip at the end of our meal, finishing up our wine. The dip itself was not stellar, not really. It had big globs of cream cheese in it. Meh. I ordered the Ocean & Acre salad with salmon. It was amazing. My dining companion had the lobster roll which was only fine, not excellent. For $35 it seems like it ought to have been excellent. It wasn't a fantastic experience. But it was a very tasty salad, and a great wine Altogether, the wine, the app, and two modest entrees, we were at $128. Probably next time I would try the tuna poke bowls and be done with it.

Yelp
The food lacked seasoning and some of my parties food was served ice cold. The prices are reasonable for seafood. For it to be such a beautiful restaurant on the inside, the health rating is a 81 so I wonder what that is for.
