Ocean Sushi

Went to Ocean for a pre-Christmas Eve Seven Fishes dinner over the weekend, It was absolutely fabulous! Both the sushi and sashimi were superbly fresh and presented beautifully. Service was efficient and pleasant, despite having a full house and plenty of takeout orders being prepared and going out the door. We hadn't been to Ocean in a very, very long time but the owner and waitstaff still remembered us and greeted us warmly. Definitely worth the trip from the north end of the island, and definitely be back. Many thanks to the team at Ocean for another delicious and memorable night!

Sesame seeds on the sushi?! Not for me. The sushi wasn’t bad but the sesame was overpowering. Not sure if it was only the ones I ordered. The service is quick and the food overall isn’t bad. Nice people and I am sure the other items are better.

Aside from lunch specials, Ocean can get pretty pricey. That being said, their sushi is always worth it. I’ve never been disappointed; fish is always fresh, and deliveries are fairly quick. This is the best place for sushi on the south shore.

Met a friend for lunch by his house and told me to lets go for sushi to this place. Walked in and was greeted we sat down and first thing that i noticed was on the tables were real chopsticks i liked that once the food came out and tasted it was 100% great taste and fresh definitely will come back here great staff fast service and very clean thank u.

There was no dining at the place at all. Only take out or delivery. The food was pretty good. Dosen't seem much of a difference from any other sushi place. The rice was a little hard...may needed more water when cooking or that is what it is normally? Too bad there was no dining I would've love to try more dishes. I only have them 4 stars solely on what I gotten to eat. Still I wouldn't mind going back to this place the food was fresh.

Excellent fresh fish can be difficult to find on Staten Island, but this place has buttery fresh sushi. The seafood miso soup was delicious, the toro roll was different but excellent. The white tuna sashimi, the Naruto and under the sea roll were very shareable for two and were enjoyed by both of us. Service was good and they let us linger which I liked.

Fresh always and fast fast delivery. Worth the price for sure. We eat in and order often. Never disappointed.

Ordered takeout for the first time- (next time would love to eat here in person) Our food was fast, so we were able to enjoy our food still hot. Flavorful and the Spicy Dragon roll was soo good, I regretted my decision to share the roll with my husband. I ordered Yaki udon- which was delicious however I wish the shrimp tails were peeled off. No biggie tho. We will 100% order here again

My go to sushi spot! Food is always fresh, delivery and pick up are super quick and satisfying each time and the staff and service has never given me any issues! They have never messed up my order and sometimes i'll go in and eat. The ambiance is enjoyable and intimate.

When they opened I was so happy to have a sushi place in my neighborhood. Their food is amazing. So much flavor, and great prices too. Staff is awesome also!!!

I guess Ocean Sushi still hasn't opened for indoor dining! So I decided to order for takeout and was both perplexed and amazed by their innovative ordering setup. Ocean Sushi blocked off the entrance for their vicinity and instead, placed a small microphone on a table, and created a tiny doorway to transfer food and money. Most of the customers seemed to place pickup orders and retrieved them by providing the last four digits of their phone number through the microphone. I honestly can't say the servers here were that nice. For example, as I got ready to place my takeout order, the server said, "Girl, what do you want?" rather than something more polite like, "Hello, how can I help you" or something similar... After all, they didn't have any customers outside, nor did they seem to have any phone calls that would warrant the rushed and cold "greeting" I received. Nevertheless, I ordered an "Under Sea Roll," as well as Red Snapper and Striped Bass Sashimi. Well, despite their lack of politeness, I have to hand it to them; they made my food in roughly 5 minutes and provided some of the best quality and tasting sushi I've had on Staten Island! The sashimi slices were large and fresh. The "Under The Sea" roll is an excellent option that combined the flavors of both California and Salmon Avocado rolls. The roll was plentiful, filling, and all-around tasty! While I felt the server was a little rude, I enjoyed my sushi roll and sashimi. I heard many people speak highly about their indoor-dining experiences at Ocean. Although I will probably order for pickup at Ocean again, perhaps when the pandemic subsides, and Ocean reopens for dining, I'll stop by and give their indoor dining a try!

Placed an order for delivery, got my food fast! Delivery guy was also nice and friendly which is always a plus! Food was good as well. Had their rolls and salmon teriyaki, will definitely order again to try their other stuff.

The ambiance isn't the best, but the sushi is divine. Best on Staten Island. I recommend taking out instead of sitting there though.

This is my goto sushi delivery spot. Theyre always quick and never had issues w my order. Placing order online or on the phone is so easy! Sushi is good, always fresh and generous cutting with sashimi. I love scallop sushi so that was so important for me that it tastes fresh! They have special rolls as well. I'm usually picky with sushi, but this place did not disappoint! I definitely want to try to dine in person eventually. They do not have omakase style sushi if thats what you're lookin for. Still on the search for that on the island.

I ordered Sushi on a Thursday for dinner... the sushi was a bit warm. I did not give it much thought...well after eating the Tuna Roll shrimp roll& California roll... with in 2 hours I was deathly sick. I vomited up the entire meal... I have been sick for 4 days now... it's sad that they would send out bad Sushi.. knowing how sick you can get... I highly recommend you stay away from this place... I am still sick 4 days later... I hope this helps someone else from getting as sick as I got.......The stomach pains are so bad. I can eat anything... I think you get the picture

Oceans has always been my go to place for sushi. Fresh delicious, and the service is outstanding! They really want to make sure that everything is good. They are attentive and always with a smile. Food is on point! From sushi, sashimi, and cooked meals this is the place to go! I'm so happy they are near me. Even the take out is perfect. Never messed up an order.Never a disappointment. Highly recommend!!

Review based on delivery* Sushi is fresh, good rice and sushi proportion. However the rock shrimp was very oily. *Please dry the oil before placing in plastic container*

Perfect Sushi. Perfect Service. And never a bad experience. Some recommendations would be the California Roll, the Philadelphia Roll, and any of their tempura or tempura Rolls.

Parking lot is very convenient and very nice decor. Kind of tucked away in a corner of a little strip of restaurants. Walked in for lunch and was greeted by a very nice woman who showed me to my seat. Bathroom is clean, but unfortunately there wasn't any soap. Food was great! I will def come back when I'm on this side of SI. Make sure you order the spicy dragon roll! You will not be disappointed.

Ordered delivery from here last week and we liked it a lot. It took close to an hour for them to arrive, but we ordered on a Sunday during dinner hours and we live about 4-5 miles away so it makes sense. We weren't mad about it. The sashimi regular dish was super fresh and had nice thick cuts. The special rolls were also very fresh and satisfying. We got the NY roll, Ocean roll, and Under Sea roll. All good. One thing I will say is that we got a spicy scallop roll and it was a 1/10 in terms of spiciness, and my family who can't tolerate spicy heat agreed. Maybe that was just a one-off thing though! Also, I've never seen a sushi spot include little containers of eel sauce mixed with a not-very-strong wasabi before, but it was delicious and now I'm going to crave it every time I eat sushi elsewhere. Definitely would order again.

Literally the best sushi in Staten Island there is no comparison. You get what you pay for and this rings true for ocean. Definitely on the higher side of the price range but worth every penny. Staff is very nice and friendly.

I've been going to Ocean Sushi for years now. Both as a diner for dozens of visits where it's a family favorite, and call-ins for takeout for well over 100 times. Food is always fresh, love the presentation, and service is excellent. It is an amazing place. I highly recommend it.

Writing this as a PSA, Ocean is open for TO & delivery, has deliciously fresh & firm salmon sashimi, tasty hibachi/teriyaki veggies and quick delivery! Always there when we need them thanks Ocean.

I don't see how this place has earned a 5 star average rating. Sashimi is very fresh, and the ambience is not bad. However, the special rolls fall apart when you pick them up. They need to work on that. Overall, it's not bad for staten island, but I was disappointed in their special rolls.

The sushi from here is unbelievable it always taste nice and fresh and its always punctual. If you ever need a delivery at a specific time they are usually right on par with it. The delivery boys are always friendly and respectable as well! Would always recommend best sushi place in this area.

I have been ordering from Ocean for years and before the pandemic, we would go to the restaurant. Always great sushi & cooked entrees. The staff is very nice and helpful when ordering.

This has been my favorite sushi place in Staten Island for years. It's the best quality sushi here, and it's always fresh both in takeout or dine-in. The owners are so nice and accommodating as well. I have nothing but good things to say; but my favorites are the mango avocado roll, the spicy shrimp roll, and the spicy kani salad.

(As of now) my favorite sushi place on the Island. I came here for lunch with my dad (I convinced him to try something other than his staple, Kiku on Richmond). We were there pretty late for lunch-- 2:30-- at least for me, but we were not dining alone. The place itself is small but really clean and pleasant. I loved the atmosphere, and definitely want to check out what it's like at dinner. The service is so helpful and really concerned with how they're doing. They asked us multiple times how we heard of them. I wanted to try out this place solely on Yelp reviews but a family friend also spoke its praises. We both ordered lunch specials, which are the run of the mill for sushi/Japanese places. I had three rolls: spicy tuna, yellowtail scallion, and sweet potato. They were a lot bigger than what other places on SI have given me in the past, it was awesome. My dad ordered chicken teriyaki with fried rice and said the rice was the best he's ever had. We have a convert!! The server had me fill out a survey at the end, which I gladly did. Apparently they have birthday specials? Excited to see what that's about. I'm also itching to go here for dinner and try some drinks and special rolls. They also have free delivery-- what could be better?

I ordered , delivery . The last on the phone taking orders was very kind and patience with me, making great recommendations . We ordered a lot ! Everything was fresh and very delicious . I appreciated their good service but , mostly I appreciated good food to share with my family !

It was kind of busy on Saturday night, no big deal. The waitress was friendly and seated us. We ordered a kani salad, spicy dancing kani roll, yummy roll, and a king dragoon roll. The kani salad was very good. The spicy dancing kani roll was to die for, must get. The other two rolls were good too. It was a little difficult to get our waitresses attention for water refills, but it was busy so maybe that's why. I will definitely come back though, maybe during the day when it's a little less busy. The parking lot is a plus.

Ocean Sushi always the BEST. Jennifer, a waitress recommended the yellowtail neck-- not sure the exact name) It was delicious... with a special sauce( don't remember the name but it tastes like orange) The sauce is very unique and once u try and I bet you can't let go. We love it!!!

I been here a few times and this by far one of the best sushi and japanese restaurant on Staten Island. The place is small but it allows them to be impeccable with their service. I enjoy a variety of their dishes but the one that stands out the most is the Peking Duck Roll which is a good combination of the original chinese dish wrapped up in a crepe like skin and drizzled with hoisin sauce. I order it everytime I come here and its a great appetizer to start out a lunch or dinner. I had several of their sushi ranging from sashimis to rolls and they are all prepared well and taste rather fresh. I had slowly shifted over to ordering their hibachi/bento box entrees. Recently I has their tuna steak which is well seasoned and cooked medium rare just the way I liked it. Price is decent compared to the quality and quantity given. All dishes are presented nicely with a certain ambiance in mind. Recommendation: Crispy Duck Salad Peking Duck Roll Hibachi Entrees Tuna Steak

I am blown away right now! Michelle the owner came to my house today because I was so upset about the sauce situation! This is my favorite sushi place the rolls are always amazing but I was aggravated about not getting enough sauce! Michelle took the time out of her day to come personally apologize to me for not being 100% satisfied!!!! Besides loving the sushi this truly touched my heart because it shows how much they love their customers! And to make this situation even better she brought me a ton of sauce!!!!! I can't be happier and I am so happy a business owner actually took the time to hear its customers and to do All she could to make me a happy customer! Looks like we will be having sushi for dinner tomorrow with All this sauce!!!!

Consistently fresh and delicious. special rolls fresh properly proportional. Sashimi fresh and tasty. Even the entrees from the kitchen like the pineapple fried rice and pad Thai. The service is helpful and friendly. Top sushi spot on Staten Island for sure.

My current go-to sushi place. Lunch specials are cheap, & they don't over do it with the rice so you get a lot for your money. But at the end of the day it's all about freshness and that's definitely what you're getting when you order from Ocean Sushi

Fast delivery, but awful food! Pad Thai just cheap noddles drenched with hot sauce packets.. sushi was ok but chewy like it's been sitting out. I could not make it through one whole sushi bite so my husband ate it. Best thing we ordered was chicken teriyaki. Worst food experience since moving to Staten Island :/

Yes, these folks have it down to a science. Place is fluttered with couples, quartets of bros before ho's, and a few WWE rejects, but the food and the service is modestly fantastic. I would focus on the special rolls and bask in the glory of their sushi selections and specials. I did not try the chef's Omakase, but I will return with $$$$ in hand. I have been to many sushi places on the island, and I am certain that Ocean Sushi will shine for Staten Island. Heck, it may even impress some Manhattanites that have ventured across the pond for a visit.
