A Crossroads institution since the early 1990s, this family-run counter cooks to order—fragrant curries, wok-fired noodles, and tom yum—inside the multicultural Public Market. The official market and restaurant pages highlight more than 25 years serving the Eastside, a true community fixture where regulars trade tips at shared tables.

O’Char is a deceptively delicious Thai restaurant in the Crossroads Mall food court. I say deceptively delicious because while their food looks simple and without garnish, it is some of the most tasty Thai food you can find in the Bellevue area. I highly recommend the pad Thai, and their Combo

Leah Arialle Naidoo

Google
Absolutely delicious!! Their fried rice is one of the best. You can see and taste the freshness! Staff is super friendly and the wait time isn't too long. These portions arr huge! We either always have extra for the next meal or sometimes share a single portion and it's more than enough!

Google
Wish I could review the food. I ordered Pad Thai combo but when I got home and opened it up, I realized they only gave me plain noodles. No chicken, no herbs, just plain red noodles:( I also had the red curry as part of the combo. It at least seemed to have all its ingredients. Flavor was good but I'll go somewhere else next time.

Google
The food, price, and service were on point. Everything was delicious and affordable. We ordered deep-fried tofu, Pad See Ew, and Thai broth noodles—everything was excellent! **Cons:** The line was really long, and we waited 40 minutes for our food. Being in a food court, you have to serve and clean up yourself. The food isn't as tasty as other Thai restaurants, but you can't beat the price. 😃

Google
Been coming here for years now and O’Char Thai still remains one of my favorite Thai food spots in East Bellevue. The pad thai is of course a go-to, and always hits the spot. The fried rice is amazing as well. Lately, I’ve been getting their 2 new items fairly often, the chopped pad krapow (fried egg on top is A MUST), and the crispy garlic chicken. Both are delicious. All ingredients are always fresh, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and can help assist when trying something new. Overall: 5/5

Google
O'Char is located in Crossroads Mall food court. Judging by the line of people ordering it is clearly very popular. I ordered the Thai noodle soup, which is pretty much tom yum soup with fried tofu, chicken, prawn, and rice noodles. It was well prepared, hot, and very flavorful. In the past I've had other dishes like radna, pad seeyou, and fried rice. It's always been quickly prepared and tasty. It's fun to watch the line cooks hard at work and putting to woks to work. The only down side is the Crossroads Mall food court atmosphere which always feels low rent, and not unlike eating at the cafeteria in college. It's the worst when they have lives music because it's always too loud for having conversations and often not that good. But if you're in Crossroads Mall and wanting Thai I would not hesitate to go to O'Char.

Google
I’ve been eating their food for 10+ years or it feels like it! I especially love their Pad Thai! & my mom loves their fried rice with pineapple but sometimes she leaves out the curry powder! But their pad Thai is my comfort food! So hella good!!! Definitely one of my favorite places to eat at crossroads mall!!! They are also very friendly and if you eat there as often as I do! They’ll ring up what u like as soon as u get ready to order. They are the best pad Thai place I know of in Bellevue!!

Google
What an amazing little place! I never would have found if we didn't have to drive to Bellevue because it was the only place that had a book I needed. Food was fantastic, much better then I was expecting in a food court type setting. My wife always gets the pad Thai which was awesome but I tried something new, the pad ewu (spelling?) And I was very satisfied with the giant noodles in it. Service was quick and the guy at the counter was wonderful in helping me decide on a new thing. Definitely a must try

Yelp
My husband and I was craving Thai food so we decided to give this place a try. You can order through the app or by person. Things were steady through out the whole time we were there. My husband wanted a rice entree and I wanted noodles. We asked if we can get a rice entree and sub the rice+salad for the noodles and they were able to accommodate it which was really nice. One of the cooks helped us with the order. The people here are really nice. He was entertaining my 1 year old with his cooking skills and smiling the whole time :) everyone there just seems happy We ended up getting the chopped meat entree with pad Thai. Holy cow I didn't expect such a big portion. For $16 it was shared by both my husband and I. Food is not the best but it satisfy my cravings. Overall, I would definitely come back

Yelp
Solid. Dependable. Hot Fresh Wok. Open Kitchen. Always busy, flagrant. A go-to spot during the work week. Convenient, short waits, tasty, fair pricing. I realize different type of cuisine/food/region can demand different cooking techniques, for example my review of Aroy Mak and the lukewarm food is most likely due to the fact that their menu items require less heat to bring out the best in their food, thus maybe a tad harsh of a review, but I still don't believe they are worth waiting in line for if the wait is out the door, especially if you drove longer then 25min to get there. For O'Char, its just consistent, tasty, hot. Perhaps I align more with hotter temperature food I can admit. See you soon again!

Yelp
One of the better options in the crossroads mall food court. I've had the pad Thai here a few times and quality can be inconsistent however still satisfying. They are a popular option in the food court so they can get busy and service is always quick and short. The cooks here work hard. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai spice level 3. The spice bar is up to 4. Honestly the food was not spicy sadly and more on the sweet side. Food was still flavorful and tasty but more on the bland side. Something was missing. Didn't enjoy the side salad and wasn't aware I would get that on my plate tbh lol. Also wish they gave lime wedges and more peanuts, and egg with the pad Thai. Shrimp isn't the highest quality. I still devoured my food for a large lunch before work but did not touch the salad. Food is good but not a go to pad Thai restaurant or anything. Good and decent option in the crossroads mall food court. I would return and have but it's very once in a blue moon type of visit tbh.

Yelp
Been eating here for 30 years and love it! I most always get the #1 special pad Thai red curry. So good!

Yelp
The top tastes fine- but it's swimming in water at the bottom- not okay Ate top half had to throw the watery bits away

Yelp
The food was okay overall. This stand is near the entrance to the food hall and has a manned register and a self-order kiosk. There's a variety of dishes available on the menu but I ordered one of the combos since it came with rice, pad thai and curry. My order ended up taking a while and I saw several people who ordered after me get their orders before me which was a downside. I expected there wouldn't be that long of a wait for a food court stall but I ended up waiting around 20 minutes for my order. When I did receive my order, I was disappointed there were almost no vegetables at all! I wasn't expecting a separate side of veggies since there was nothing to indicate that on the menu, but I also wasn't expecting there to be so little mixed into the dish itself. Visually, it was kind of sad to look at as it was completely devoid of color and just a pure orange hue in a togo box. The pad thai was just rice noodles and their pad thai sauce with a couple bean sprouts mixed in. The curry had chicken chunks and a little bit of bamboo shoots mixed in, but that was it. If I have to eat here again, I would opt for a regular dish over the combo for (hopefully) a more balanced meal.

Yelp
The food is amazing again!! My wife had me drive 40 miles round trip to get it. (I offered) (she didn't actually ask) (thought id get laid, yah this food is that good) (rode my motorcycle to get it) And yes it's worth it. Especially when she's happy. Right guys. Hehe. The service was amazing. I barely stepped away and when I came back and asked for an update. They go are you ... and got my name right. 5 minutes left!! I was impressed. They're getting faster Finally, the place is packed. One of the most popular spots in Crossroads / Bellevue. Thanks O'Char again!!

Yelp
Consistently my favorite at crossroads mall. Their pad see ew is delicious. We usually order it with beef or chicken. I prefer the chicken. The staff are really nice. There is a lot of seating and on a weekend you can hear live music! Definitely love the food here.
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
Food is always tasty! Consistently very good and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking in the lot right outside
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
We love their Thai! Located inside Crossroads food court, with a lot of seating and a great place to people watch. My 13mo old loves watching the wok action! We usually get pad Thai and their pad see yu/kee mao. A little on the greasy side and sometimes their meat is a little tough, but it's super flavorful and tastes delicious hot from the wok!
google avatar

Khoo K.

Yelp
This place is amazing especially if you consider the speed, variety of food (at the food court) and quality. It is more like 3.5 stars but a solid place to satisfy your craving for Thai/noodles. Super casual and by far the busiest counter at the food court. The pad kee mao (basil rice noodles) with tofu was good. More like a place for everyday meal vs special meal. I would be back to try the combo with doesn't have pad Thai.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise at the Crossroads food court. They cooked everything to order. This did cause us quite a wait, but the food was well prepared. I had the veg delight with chicken. I ordered 3 (out of 4) stars, and it was more like 1.5 stars. That said, it was tasty and a generous portion. I got the brown rice, which was a nice option. I also liked the very fresh salad with the tasty dressing. We waited about 20 minutes at lunchtime on a Sunday.

Yelp
When you find yourself (a) at Crossroads on a cold day and (b) craving some hot, spicy Thai food, O'Char is a solid option in my opinion. At first I was going to get my standard Pad Thai, but then I noticed they have a Thai noodle soup so I switched over to that. For a very reasonable price, I got this hot bowl of delicious tom yum deliciousness filled with tender rice noodles and topped with jumbo shrimp. The Crossroads food court has so many good options, I usually find myself going to the same ones over and over again, but I'm going to have to add O'Char to my regular rotation. The service was super friendly, too, and FAST! I also appreciated that, if you're not doing take-out, they use real bowls and utensils so there was less waste if I stayed at the food court and ate. Which, of course, I was more than happy to do.

Yelp
$14 for mediocre phad see ew? Yeah, no. Take me back to Thailand, please. Okay, I will say that I did just get back from traveling around SE Asia where amazing Asian food will only cost you a few bucks, so I've been spoiled and standards have rose. But shouldn't I like my dinner much more than having lukewarm feelings for it, especially since it was $14? We visited the Crossroads Shopping Center for some errands and decided to check out the food court for dinner. I decided to venture out and try somewhere I hadn't eaten at before; therefore, I was brought to O'Char Thai. O'Char Thai has been at Crossroads forever. And every time I'm at the food court here, O'Char seems to be the food vendor that's always busy. I ordered the phad see ew with chicken and two-star spice, which didn't take long to get. I was excited for my meal, as peeps could see from the open kitchen the flaming woks at work. It's gotta be good. But, I found the phad see ew to be lackluster. The noodles were fine and sauced up, but there was not a lot of veggies or chicken with this dish in comparison to how much noodles you get. I know it's a noodle dish, but the lack of protein and veggies to the proportion of carbs was beyond off. Also, I ordered this dish with medium spice and it was not spicy at all. This phad see ew was expensive for what it was, which makes me hesitant to check out O'Char again, especially since there are better food options at the Crossroads food court. Or ya know, I could just go back to Thailand.

Yelp
Pretty much what you would expect from a strip mall thai take out spot. But decent flavors and huge portion sizes. They have a great service and the food court area itself is not that bad so the ambience is pretty nice. Plenty of parking and a lot of other businesses and things to do in the area
google avatar

Tatyana S.

Yelp
Raw chicken next to cooked food on the public counter. Gloves not being used. Not sure how they have an excellent food rating with the county with all these clear unsanitary practices. Not eating here!

Lavi S.

Yelp
Extremely customizable dishes. Huge array of authentic Thai food options on the menu. Meat livers, vegetarians, vegan folks, everyone has a lot of options. Amazing, friendly chefs and people that work there. The taste of the food is top-notch. I am someone that loves spicy food with lots of veggies and protein. These folks don't shy away from giving you a hearty meal for the price you pay. This place is inside the crossroads mall where they have a ton of place to sit and live bands playing. Extremely family friendly. My one year old loves it. This is our comfort spot for sure. I usually get their pad kee mao or Thai basil fried rice.
google avatar

Elaine K.

Yelp
I have been to this place a few times since my husband works close and he like Thai food. I usually get the Mongolian beef and my husband Pad Thai and for appetizers the Fried Crab Rangoon. All the dishes comes with a fair amount of meat but as mostly places it has so much rice and noodles that seems to be a little disproportional. Las my time I came here I de used to try something different and ordered Beef Lad Nah. The beef did not taste very good. And there was sooooo much noodles that I left most of it on the plate. One of my favorite food is the Crab Rangoon but this time I am not sure what happened because I could barely taste the crab. I could only taste the cream cheese which is a bummer. The staff is always very friendly but honestly I am not sure if I am up to eat here again. Too bad...
google avatar

Mara J.

Yelp
Got the Pad See Ew, chicken, lvl 3 out of 4 spicy. The noodles were a good texture but the sauce was a bit fishy and the noodles tasted a little eggy. It was a filling dish tho (split it with someone). But I also didn't like how they automatically put a $1 tip when you pay. When did tipping at takeout become the norm? Are they not paying their workers a fair wage?
google avatar

Yelp
O'Char is one of our go-tos in the Crossroads mall food court. Self-ordering kiosks make it super easy, or you can order through the website (it's the same system as the kiosks) which is nice when you're out and want to order ahead. Being a mall food court, not sure I can say much about the ambiance except that it's fairly close to the entrance facing Edgeworks so it's convenient. The food is solid and portions are large, so it's usually a hit with our kids, they usually share some Pad Thai or fried rice. The staff is nice and are usually quick to prepare the food.

Sharon J.

Yelp
Food was okay! I think new owner. Will not come back. But people working at the restaurant were rude. I don't know if he was owner. He was fighting with guy who was cleaning tables. They eaten breakfast and didn't even throw stuff and left on the table. He was arguing with the person cleaning the table why should I clean table when others don't do it.

Yelp
I'm oblivious as I guess I've never really taken notice of this Thai place in the Crossroad food court until recently. Prices are affordable with most dishes at $11, but that's where the good stops. --Pad Thai - Good portion size, but a basically a big mound of noodles without both that sweet and sour taste. --Garlic Pork - First time was actually really good. Second time was inconsistent and didn't have the proper carmelization of the meat probably because the cooking was rushed as they were busy. --Basil Fried Rice - Heavy on basil herb flavor. Chunky onions. Eh just average IMO. --Yellow Curry Pineapple Fried Rice - Not bad honesty, but I think Bai Tong's version is better. The food is put out pretty fast here even when you walk up and order. They have a stamp card available too.
google avatar

Mosa H.

Yelp
O'Char Thai is quick and cheap. That being said, those are it's only two good features. I ordered the Crab Rangoons, which had no crab and were basically just filled with cream cheese. The rangoon wrap was thick and hard to chew through- I prefer a flakier pastry. I also ordered the 1/2 pad thai- only $6 for this hefty portion. However, the flavors were unremarkable and the noodles were very overdone. I would only return if I were really craving Thai and had a budget of under $10.

Yelp
For food court food this spot hit the spot. After walking around the international food court we decided on this spot. Watching the plates leave the kitchen and seeing actual flames it was clear that this food was freshly cooked. Yummy. I had a beef dish with rice noodles. My daughter had a chicken/mushroom dish with rice noodles. Craving something cruncy I ordered the fried veggie spring rolls. Everything came hot fresh and delicous. I don't normally have Thai food so it was nice that he asked me what spiciness I preferred. Which is mild to none for this mild mannered lady. lol. My daughter who knowes what she likes was happy with our meal as well. The thai iced tea was a perfect addition and needed to be stirred before drinking. Thank you again daughter for the information. This restaraunt is located inside a food court with loads of choices. I highly recommend coming here. Affordable and delicious. Happy Yelping.

Yelp
O'Char is located inside the Crossroads Food Court. With so many options in the food court, I somehow regularly gravitated towards O'Char. They wok stir fry most of their dishes fresh per order. All their ingredients are fresh. Several cooks can be seen assembling the ingredients and cooking over the woks. For mall food, it's pretty darn good. Plus they are always the last to close. When the mall closes at 6pm on Sundays and every food stall is closing up at 5:30, come here instead! For this visit: Curry chicken, pad Thai, and rice combo - This is a great portion for I think it was $11. The curry's taste is good, but this is one of those already made, i.e. scoop and serve. The curry is a bit separated as can be seen in the photo. Pad see ew - I requested less sugar, and they delivered. An excellent savory flavor. Prawn was an extra $1 only. And there were 6 large prawns. Impressive for the $11 total dish. The only thing is I thought pad see ew normally comes with broccoli. Where did that go? This place always appear to be the most busy in the food court. I can see why.

Yelp
Who knew some of my favorite places to eat is at a food court/ food hall! The Thai noodle soup is packed with flavor! It's a Tom yum sweet, sour, savory and I got 3 stars spice, and wow.... So packed with so much goodness on a cold fall day. There is plenty of soft chewy rice noodles, with extremely tender chicken breast pieces, along with soft deep fried tofu, and plump prawns. It was the best Thai noodle soup I had other than in Thailand! It's so good I even want to take the left over soup home to enjoy. Even better is that it is only $12 a bowl! Glad I stumbled upon this bowl of delight as I saw another enjoy the soup!
google avatar

Yelp
Very greasy and overcooked. The wait was about 45 minutes on a busy Friday night to have a take out dinner. Not recommended .
google avatar

Jan C.

Yelp
Flavors are good. Service is friendly, but both our orders were incorrect. Ordered veggie dish, got chicken. Ordered extra spicy, no spice. They weren't busy, so I'm not sure what the problem was.
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
This place really encompasses what Thai food should be (from a food court, not Thailand because...I've never been) but essentially comforting, filling and delicious. We were SUPER hungry by the time we got our food, so much so that we just sat in the car and ate it all. Literally. The portions were huge too so... Food was flavorful, portions hefty and price was pretty on par with most other places in the area. Spice was was okay, I got a 2 and it wasn't very noticeably spicy. My partner got a 4 and I didn't think that was spicy either (at least in the curry, the pad thai was another story). The service was friendly and fast but the wait for food was long, which is saying something because there are a lot of food options there!
google avatar

Erica Z.

Yelp
Amazing for the price. I was surprised to see that they only have a ~3.5 star here. I've ordered here no less than 20 times and usually order the same dishes and they're consistently good. You shouldn't expect top notch Thai food but it's quite good for the price. Portion size is enough to keep us full What I like Crispy garlic chicken: amazing flavors, chickens dry but the flavors make up for it Pad see ew Combo 1 &2 Tom kha soup
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
I've been coming to this Thai food eatery in the Mall since the 90's and it's still serves up decent Thai and seems to be managed well. If your going to order from the Crossroads food court, this has to be on your list
google avatar

Smaly K.

Yelp
I was in the area and remember seeing a Thai restaurant in the Crossroads food court I wanted to try. Never been in this food court before and was surprised at how many options there were. O'Char was a little busy, but I already knew exactly what I wanted from the Yelp pictures. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken, and was surprised that I was able to get Thai food in Bellevue for under $10 (before tax). Service was friendly and quick. The food smelled so good, it was torture driving home waiting to eat it. I ordered the highest stars of spiciness, which I think was 4 stars. I'm not sure how spicy that was, because I added my own hot sauce when I got home. The basil fried rice was good. The texture was good, I liked the chopped green beans in it. The flavor was good. I was good, eating happily while watching Netflix.
google avatar

Theo B.

Yelp
Disgusting. I used to love this place. Ordered takeout Phad Thai. It comes with salad. The salad was browner than the Phad Thai. There were no carrots or sprouts in the Phad Thai. Don't know what happened but quality was so bad, I could barely finish it. Did not eat the salad.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Had the pad Thai and chicken curry combo. The food tasted ok though there wasn't a lot of protein in the portion.
google avatar

Rainbow W.

Yelp
Phad Thai is amazingly flavorful and saucy! Not a lot added to it, but honestly I don't mind that too much. Always piping hot, and amazing portions. Highly recommend. The reason I took 2 stars down, is because they placed cold iceberg lettuce salad in the same container with hot, fresh off the grill phad Thai, so the salad was extremely warm which was not pleasant at all or food safe. Please stop being cheap, and box your COLD salad separately from your HOT food.
google avatar

April T.

Yelp
This is my go to when I'm craving Thai food. Is nearby and their service is quick. I love their pad kee mao and tom yum noodle soup here. Inside of crossroads shopping center so there's always a place to sit.
google avatar

Thinh O.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!! I am a picky person when it comes to Thai food. These are some of the best dishes I've had in a while. We were walking through the food court, and their menu looked good. After ordering, they began wok frying our order right in front of us. Three dishes only took about 7 minutes to prepare. The portions are generous, and very reasonably priced. Customer service was awesome. Super friendly, and offered a punch card to return. I highly recommend this place wanting some Thai food.
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. We usually oder take out. Food is great. We have never been disappointed. My favorites are the Tom Ka soup, Yellow curry (with chicken, potatoes and onions), pineapple fried rice with vegetables and swimming angels! There is always plenty of parking nearby. The staff is super friendly. Their prices are fair.

Bam B.

Yelp
It been awhile since I visit this place. I had the chicken Pad Kee Mao very tasty, i think i would love the shrimp but it was $2 more I'll have to try it next time. Tom yum kha with coconut and shrimp love it fresh! Yum! Excellent, i haven't found another local thai place that makes it this good. love the shrimp veggie lover with the fish sauce! The salad that comes with love the sauce. tofu veggie lover was very tasty. fried rice was ok. Phat see eww was ok I don't particularly like the tofu will get it without tofu next time. I don't like their Phad Thai I had better. Won't buy Phad Thai next time. I'll just stick to veggie lover shrimp, tom yum kha shrimp, shrimp Pad Kee Mao. I think their new self order/check out is really awesome really easy and quick to use. I do prefer it than to wait in long lines.

Debabrata S.

Yelp
avoid , unprofessional , forget food after preparing and let is get cold . yoy will keep waiting

Magdalene M.

Yelp
I have been coming to O'Char Thai for nearly 20 years now and will continue to support them! I always order combo 1 (pad Thai, red curry chicken, and rice) and the chefs always pile my plate with food. The restaurant owner is also so kind and I always love seeing him!
google avatar

Kendra Z.

Yelp
This place was good and decent prices. There's so many choices at Crossroads Mall, but the one is one of my favorites. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai with one star. I usually can do 1 Star, but this was spicy and tasty. There are a lot of choices here, so I'll be back to try more.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Best genuine thai soup I've eaten from any thai restaurant. I've eating this soup for years and never fails. Good price, fast, and delicious.

Mila R.

Yelp
It's inside a food court where I was for a couple of hours- so I decided to give it a try- ordered the Tom Yum soup for 7 bucks...pretty small bowl considering the fact that it's NOT a restaurant ! Taste was good but had too many raw onions added. never had Thai food with raw onions added to dish. I thought it was kinda overpriced. I might try their Green Curry(my all time favorite Thai dish) later.
google avatar

Kellie L.

Yelp
I only give them a 2 star because the gal at the counter was really really nice. There were 2 people in front of me but the line was quite fast as were the workers cooking in the back line. I was given order #52. My order was finally up after order # 56. Not sure why other meals were made before mine or if by chance my soup was frozen.* I ordered a bowl of Tom Kha, side of Rice and side of Phad Thai Noodies. The Tom Kha is *watery and SUPER lemongrassy. Also, there were so many pieces of Galangal Root that I had no idea what to do with them. The lemongrass and root that I pulled out of my soup just kept piling up on the side of my plate. Both overpowered the whole thing. There was bits of the other seasonings, but those were lost when the grass and root came around. The Phad Thai was rubbery and needed more seasoning. I was on the fence about bringing my unfinished portion back to the office. The more and more I thought about it, the more I knew that it would not get eaten. Sorry O'Char.... I cannot return.
google avatar

Rodney C.

Yelp
I have only had the thai noodle soup and my wife only orders the cashew shrimp. We both love the flavors of these dishes. The thai noodle soup includes tofu, chicken and shrimp in a tasty broth with a good kick. Noodles are always on spot. They are friendly, fast and appreciative. There are other dishes I have tried and they are B to B+ but, considering the speed they are turning things around, I understand.

Charissa W.

Yelp
I have been here twice since moving to King County and each time I've went I've gotten outstanding food and outstanding customer service. The owner seemed very sweet and cared about his customers. I specifically had the drunken beef noodles and they were amazing!

Yelp
Taste great, good portion,$8-9$ dishes. I always eat here every time I go to crossroads malls. This little Thai restaurant at the corner always has line, and the line is quite long on the weekends. Seem like it's the most popular one in the food court area. Recommended Garlic pork--rich and tasty garlic sauce. Red curry combo come with Phad Thai and rice--thick and rich curry. Love it. Phad Thai--a bit on sweet side but really tasty. This dish is a hit here. Seafood Tom yum noodle-- huge bowl comes with good portion of shrimp, tofu, and chicken.
