How Natural Wine Became an Underground Trend in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"In Bishop Arts, Oddfellows hired wine specialist Emily Mitchell to craft a natural-wine list that she makes approachable with cheeky, feeling-based descriptions; I was struck by her willingness to describe a sparkling as “like a masc lesbian with an intriguing perfume.” The list pulls from around the world and includes a bold red by Georgian producer Teliani, a funky, bold canned skin-contact (orange) wine by All Hours, and a bright sauvignon blanc from Kumusha Wines (a South African project owned by a Zimbabwean sommelier). Oddfellows is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch and serves dinner Tuesday through Sunday until 10 p.m." - Courtney E. Smith

Had a blast. It's a very eclectic place for sure! James was a great bartender and was very attentive. The conversation was great there amongst the locals and they made an outsider feel right at home. The whole place is covered with signs, slogans, and ET movie memorabilia. Theres pool and darts for thise who wish to partake. I'll definitely be back.

Google
A very different type of bar and quite eclectic. All kinds of items on the walls and ceilings. Great for people watching. Have a neat outdoor area. Definitely a younger person's bar.

This is my kind of place. Maybe TOO my kind of place, which worries me! Lots to read and look at on the walls, nice outdoor area for summer. I wish we had more time in Dubuque, I would definitely make it here quite often. Friendly service.

This is probably my favorite little bar in Iowa. One of those places that really reminds you what a local watering hole is supposed to be. Covered floor to ceiling in the coolest, most random memorabilia and general nonsense, there's never lack of something new to discover while nursing quite the impressive selection of beverages. Pool table, check. Outside patio, check. Miniature swing the ring on the hook game (if anyone knows what that's called, let me know!), check. And to top it all off, the staff is amazing. Like, really amazing, not just good.

Only reason I put a star on either one is because there is not an option for a negative star chart..

Google
Not a bad little place. Lots of cool decor however the real cool factor is definitely the bartenders over there. All the bartenders -James, Shaina, Aaron, & Jonathon are all really cool ( hope I spelled everyone's name right ) I recommend the Swamp Water or whatever shot James recommends.

This place is fantastic. I always stop when in dbq since i don't live here anymore. The only thing i can say about the atmosphere is it's strange, and that's why I love it!

Google
Very eccentric. All kinds of unique wall hangings. Masks and hats hanging from the roof behind the bar. Cool t-shirts for sale. The only thing I didn't like was that the area around the bar is very very small. If your friend is sitting at the bar and you are standing behind them but someone needs to walk by. You pretty much have to scoot as close as you can to said friend for them to walk by. Other than that it was a fantastic place.

Yelp
This bar is the definition of a dive. It's off the main strip by a block or so but you can't miss it. It's next to regular homes and you can tell it is a converted old house. There are several small rooms around twists and turns of small hallways. THere's a decent back patio for smoking and hanging out. The beer selection leave something to be desired but hey...it's a dive.

Yelp
What a cool place! We were in town to kill a weekend and just walked in early on a Friday. Very dive-bar vibe. Lots of locals frequent here but so do random out of towners. Reasonable prices, very friendly bartender. We were told it gets very busy later in the evening. We will go back next time we are in town. Older crowd early. Cool decor too.

Yelp
We had a great time having a few drinks here while passing through town. We appreciated the hospitality the owner and bartender showed us. Had amazing conversations and a ton of laughs. Just what we were looking for. We will definitely stop back anytime we pass through town. Thanks for a good time. Cheer

Yelp
Great dive bar in Dubuque. Friendly service. Clientele could not have been nicer. Great spot for a few beers. They had karaoke going as well which was fun. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love the look of this bar. I love to walk into a bar and get a snapshot of the local barfly ecosystem. The decor is perfect; I love it when a place has a lived-in personality. This place has a story and I am here for it.

Yelp
Good Music for the most part. Service is awful. Waited 23 minutes to get one drink, the regular next to me had to order for me to even be seen. They only want to serve regulars and no one new. Been in here for 45 min and only got one drink and one shot. The regulars are amazing, servers need to step it up. Also, the soda in my drink was clearly old and needed to be changed days ago.

Yelp
I'm a local in town and this isn't my regular bar but went with a group of friends (about 10) and couldn't get served because the bartender had sexual relations with one of the guys we were with and it didn't end well. we had to wait to be served by James (bartender) who wasn't even working that night but took pity on us after seeing how long we waited and then waited over 30 minutes to close my tab from the bar-back. DO NOT GO HERE. couldn't even talk to a manager or get their info to talk about a solution. The mens bathroom was also a complete disaster it was disgusting.

Yelp
The bartender was very drunk and tried to overcharge me by $720. They kept bragging that the police had just been there. They chanted, "if you have weed or have warrants get out."

Yelp
Cool local bar in a cool old building. Only had a quick beer, the place was dead on a Tuesday night, but the bartender was a cool dude. There was something secretive about the place, or maybe it was just because it was in a poorer lit spot haha. Still cool, would definitely go back.

Yelp
Chad is the best bartender I've ever encountered. He made sure we had a great experience while still maintaining Covid social distancing.

Yelp
I was visiting from out of town. The bartender was super friendly along with all the customers. Customers have fun personalities. I will definitely be stopping by next time I am in town.
