The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"More than a food staple, rissol is a symbol of the popular culture in Portugal. The half moon-shaped savory snack is everywhere from bakeries to restaurants, and it inspired Alexandra and Louis Druesne to open this French-inflected vintage-looking venue overlooking the charming Jardim de São Lázaro. After stints at fine dining restaurants in Paris (where they met), the couple built a version of the beloved delicacy using organic flour and ingredients from the best producers in the country for the fillings. Traditional flavors include beef and fish, alongside more adventurous takes like Thai green curry or truffles. Beyond rissóis, they also serve a delicious tomato brothy rice, french fries, salads, and other accompaniments. Know before you go: Alexandra trained as a pastry chef in several Parisian fine-dining restaurants. Whatever you do, don’t skip dessert." - Rafael Tonon

I heard this place is one of the best places in the city to try Rissois, and this place did not disappoint. This is a small place with limited seating options and this place is always full. The ambience of the place is very modern with its bar counter just out in the front. The server here was very helpful and suggested the food that I can try based on my taste. I ordered red curry and shrimp Rissois and both were delicious and stuffed with cheese. I also had fruit juice of the day which was fresh. The pricing was also relatively modest and overall the experience was great.

I visited Oficina dos Rissóis in Porto and had rissóis for the very first time. I didn't know what to expect, but I chose the veal option—and it was surprisingly delicious! Perfectly crispy on the outside and full of flavor. I also tried the mini pizzas, which were absolutely tasty and just the right portion. To finish, we had the chocolate mousse with hazelnut crumble, which was simply delightful—rich, smooth, and with a perfect crunch. Great place, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Porto. Highly recommended!

Amazing food. IMO the Rissóis were just okay but they gave a spicy sauce and that was really spicy and amazing. The tomato soup and potatoes were superb and I would definitely recommend. Great vegetarian options. Also got a pudding at the end which was also perfectly balanced. Def sit at the counter inside to see your food get made– it's like a show!

Super tasty and fast! Lots of vegan options available, which I really appreciate. I read about the red rice and decided to try it — it was absolutely outstanding, just like the broccoli soup 🥦. Everything was full of flavor and clearly made with care. Will definitely come back!

Tasty food and really good value! We had 2 risois each and shared 3 starters/sides and it came to 32 euros for 2! We were seated immediately without a reservation and they are quite quick serving the food so ideal if you want to just be in and out but still have great meal. The broccoli soup was a highlight!

We came for the Rissóis, and they were really yum. But beyond that, we found that Louis really knows how to cook delicious vegan food. We’re not vegan but loved the vegan beans, the tomato-rice, the chili sauce and the fermented veggies. The atmosphere is also very nice. We‘d definitely come back if we were in Porto.

We ate dinner at this place and were amazed by the food. We ordered a black garlic pita, which was very good. And then we had tomato rice and tried different rissois, loved them. Also the waitress was very kind and helped us choose what to eat. If I’m ever back in Porto, I’ll definitely come here again.

The staff were incredible, the drinks were reasonable and refreshing in the sunshine. We ordered 3 Rissóis, tomato rice, a Za'tar and lemon pita and olives and it was the perfect amount of food and incredibly tasty! This is a perfect spot to try some classic Portuguese food whilst soaking up the Porto charm.
