Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week - Eater LA

"There are many eye-catching pastries and breads lining the glass case at the newly opened Oh La La bakery in Pasadena. It’s hard to resist the burnished and flakey croissants, which come filled with ham and cheese, Nutella, and chocolate batons; the generously portioned cookies and brownies make for a delightful afternoon pick-me-up; and the sourdough loaves are worth snagging for later." - Eater Staff

Oh La La Bakery in Pasadena Comes From a Third-Generation French Baker - Eater LA

"Oh La La, located at 921 E. Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, debuts this Saturday, June 24. The bakery is backed by Jean-Paul Veziano, a French baker, and partners Maxence Bouvier and Thomas Kocer. They use 50-year-old yeast and traditional methods to create breads and pastries similar to those in the South of France. Chefs Morgan Hawthorne and Tristan Bournot manage the daily operations. The bakery plans to expand with a second location and a production facility. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Cathy Chaplin

I was in the area and wanted some coffee and a pastry but wanted a place that had plenty of seating and a decent amount of pastries to choose from. But I also didn't want to be frantic looking for parking. And this place didn't disappoint. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. The place was spacious and clean. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in town.

This cafe provides a spacious and relaxing atmosphere, though it’s a bit too dark for my liking. A little more ambient lighting would make it a better spot for chatting and working. The staff really shine here—always greeting you with big smiles and offering superb service. I tried the chocolate almond croissant, which was exactly as expected. It was a nice treat, though nothing out of the ordinary. A subtler sweetness and a fluffier texture in the filled sections would have elevated it. The Cortado was pretty average, too much bitterness, not particularly memorable. Overall, the friendly service makes this cafe highly likable and worth a visit.

Such a cute little hidden gem! We went for brunch on a Sunday and everything was delicious! You order at the counter then grab a seat and they bring everything to you. I've come here before and grabbed some pastries, but this was my first time sitting down and enjoying a meal here. The food came out promptly. My husband ordered the French toast and I ordered the Croque Monsieur. Both were wonderful! The line was long but it moved quickly. And don't bother reserving a table, because hey the time you order tables clear up and there's plenty of seating. We took home a chocolate chip cookie and chocolate almond croissant as well. Their baked goods are to die for!

Food was delicious! It took a while to be seated & have waters/our order taken. But the jazz music on Friday night & kindness of the staff made up for it 🙂 Beautiful decor that makes for a nice night out with the girls or a romantic date!

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. My order was either missed or forgotten, and when it finally came out, it was packed to go—even though I asked to dine in. The waitress didn’t seem willing to fix it until I started getting up, so I just took it and left. The egg was dry, the cheese was nonexistent, and the sandwich had no condiments at all, which made it feel bland. The croissant itself wasn’t over-buttered, which I liked, but the overall sandwich was dry. The side of potatoes was cold and overcooked—they’re cut super small, so they soak up grease and burn easily. I enjoyed the atmosphere—it was cute, the music wasn’t too loud, and there was plenty of space to sit. Sorry, Oh La La—maybe it was just an off day, but I left feeling let down.

Tried this place for the first time. Bakery is OK. Not top notch. Fondry serves better baked goods. French Toast wasn’t good. Breakfast Burrito is good. Onion Soup salty. Flat White is a miss. Hojicha Latte was decent. On the whole this doesn’t match French level. Service is lacking. Long wait. So I’m not really sure why I’m paying 18% minimum tip (which is being calculated w tax) when it’s pretty much self serve.

A beautiful French bakery in Pasadena. I love their interior design and wide selection of pastries. The coffee tastes great, and my kid loved their steak frites.

Google
Oooooo I’m torn. Very expensive But very charming and feels like South of France meets Australian cafe culture. However when I asked them to remake my coffee when it tasted like the shot was burnt, there was not a helpful service but an attitude. It was not very busy so the attitude was disappointing and I had a weird experience with the first staff while ordering. But I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they improve in service.

Yelp
This was such a cute little dinner spot. The ambiance and service were impeccable! Loved the French/Italian cuisine and this is an amazing place to just hang out with friends or even for a first date! I was so interested to hear that they also have coffee and more of a bakery vibe in the mornings and definitely will plan to be back again to check that out

Yelp
Came here with friends during a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. It's a pretty aesthetic bakery/restaurant that allows you to order first before you're seated. The service was nice and efficient and the staff was patient and kind enough to answer our questions. We got the creme brulee waffle, citrus and fennel salad, and steak and frites. I personally thought all the dishes were underwhelming for the price and could use more seasoning or something to make the dishes taste better. Our steak was rubbery, the waffles were salty, and the salad was okay. We were able to exchange our waffles for a sweeter one in the end because we thought it was weird we got salty waffles. Overall, the service and ambience were nice but my friends and I weren't huge fans of the food.

Yelp
Love love love. When I first walked in, I knew I would like this place. Driven by here quite a few times, and it's never struck me as something I needed to go try. But the reviews just praised the place so much, I decided to hop in. First off, the vibe was just great. Cute, modern, simple, yet French... it hit all the marks for sure. Great, friendly people who served us. They always seemed on top of bussing the tables and bringing food. The only reason I gave four stars was for the price. I came with 2 friends, and with each of us buying a pastry to take home, drink, and main dish, it came out to more than I expected...it was almost $100. That's crazy. The food was really good though, so it was worth it to try at least once. The pastries were delicious! Please try any of the croissants--top notch! In short, cute great indoor cafe, make sure to bring enough money, and make sure to come hungry. 4/5!

Yelp
Cute place. Order at the counter. My eggs Benedict was ok. I may need to try other items to provide full review.

Yelp
I was a bit hesitant when I saw the gigantic size of the croissants; however, I was sold before I even tasted mine as soon as I saw bags of flour from France stacked near the open kitchen. The croissants did not disappoint! They are truly praiseworthy. I could taste the quality of the flour and butter used to make their pastries. Flaky on the outside and succulent and soft on the inside, our croissants were wonderful. The kouign-amann was also large, perfectly caramelized, flaky, sweet, and buttery. The almond croissant was, again, large, with a well-balanced portion of almond to dough and just the right amount of sweetness. Their avocado croissant had pickled onions, which were perhaps a little too strong for a morning bite, but the poached egg was perfectly prepared. The coffee orders contain two shots of espresso, and they hit all the high notes. Their lavender honey latte was heavenly--noticeably sweet with a delicious floral scent of lavender that was just right. Reservations are not taken for breakfast, as orders are placed at the counter, and there is some effort required to find a table. I would love to return and try their lunch and dinner menu.

Yelp
Oh La La just launched their dinner service not too long ago so I made the drive here to try it out. We ordered the roasted garlic hummus as a starter and it was a solid choice. The hummus was delicious but the focaccia was not your typical bread. It was deep fried and too oily and crispy for my liking so I just ate the hummus as is. For our entrees, we went with our waiter's recommendations of steak frites and truffle rigatoni. For someone who doesn't fancy truffle, I surprisingly really enjoyed it. The rigatoni was cooked al dente and the truffle was present but not overpowering. The only con was that it was too salty and I kept needing to take sips of my drink to cleanse my palate. The N.A. Spritz consists of sparkling lemonade and blue jasmine with just the right amount of sweetness for me. If you're looking for a sweet drink though, this is not it. They have a large selection of drinks though, so you'll definitely find one to your liking. I also tried the steak frites and it was cooked medium rare, just as ordered. The peppercorn sauce complimented it very nicely but it was once again a bit salty. The fries were thin but soggy. Of course, as a bakery, the highlight was dessert. The crispy, buttery croissant bread pudding was the definition of perfection. Overall, the workers were all very kind and the space was beautiful with its French Riviera-inspired designs.

Yelp
Tried this place with a friend and I ordered the brioche eggs benedict and later got some pastries to go (a croissant, a pain au chocolat, and a crookie). Brioche eggs benedict: everything was wonderful overall. Eggs were gooey and creamy and wonderful with the bacon and bread. Personally, I could do with a little less bacon haha. The sale was a good touch to balance with the two eggs benedicts. (the pastries- ate them 1-2 days later, toasted in the oven) Croissant: good and flaky. The usual haha. Nothing to special haha, just ordinary. pain au chocolat: good and flaky and the chocolate hit the spot! crookie: first time trying a crookie! It was good! A great balance of savory and sweet! Not too chocolatey where it's overly powering. Service was good overall. Friendly staff. It was popping but the line goes by quick. Would definitely stop by again!

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. Ambiance - love the overall aesthetic and the openness inside. I also love the glass my matcha latte came in. I'm still thinking of it and want that vibe for my home. Matcha Latte - meh. It's not bad. Not great but not bad. Pain au chocolat - yes. It's good. 4 stars all given to this pastry. I'd definitely come back for a full brunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute quiet space with tables and free wifi, great for conversations and/or working. The coffee and matcha drinks are goood. I ordered the baklava latte and it was coffee forward, creamy, nice sweetness from the honey, and pistachios. YUM. The kitchen was closed for an hour due to a fire inspection so unfortunately I couldn't order anything off the kitchen menu. Went with one of their grab and go sandwiches and the best thing about the sandwich was the focaccia. That bread was the softest buttery bread ever. Any sandwich on focaccia is a winner. Parking is tricky in that area but this place is worth stopping by. I will have to come back again during the day to try some hot items AND their new dinner menu!

Yelp
Sorry this review is few weeks late. My friend and I decided to try out this place. I hadn't heard of it before, but after reading some of the reviews, we had to stop by to try out their breakfast avocado toast and their French toast breakfast since my friend is vegan. Service was great and the food was delicious. It had nice presentation (see pic). My friend was happy with both the avocado toast and french toast as we shared both. I also end up buying some breads and jam, as well. Thanks Oh La La team for the great service and being attentive with the tea refills

Yelp
YUM! The sandwich in the pre made section was delicious. Definitely recommend. The tostada/salad was good as well and the drinks were just okay. The pastries were ok too but I wish they would have warmed them up because it was so crunchy/hard but still edible. Such a cute place to catch up with friends in a restaurant that transports you to a little cafe in Italy/france!
google avatar

Wasima K.

Yelp
I've driven by this bakery so many times. Recently I was in the area with the friend and we were looking for something to eat with a bit of protein in it. We also wanted to check out the croissants. The bakery is very large, bright and airy. There is a fair amount of stuff and everybody is very welcoming and friendly. I ended up trying the Eggs Benedict on brioche bread with bacon and really enjoyed the delicate presentation. For me it was a bit under seasoned and light on the hollandaise sauce but they offered to bring some extra sauce out. The greens on the side was dressed too perfection and although it seems simple, there is such an art to making a salad that good.

Yelp
Their almond croissant is really good with a perfect level of sweetness, crispy edges, and a good amount of delicious almond paste to go with the rest of this pastry. Their croque monsieur is kind of like a ham sandwich and was pretty good. In summary, the almond croissant here is one of the most delicious and memorable almond croissants I've had and it alone is enough to earn this establishment a 5/5 star Yelp rating in my opinion.

Yelp
I've been a quest these days for great quality burgers. Just happen to be in East side Dena and figure I'd drop in to try this popular cafe and noticed the French onion burger on their menu. This bakery/restaurant has quite a variety of pastries and breads. From behind the glass counter, they look good. So, I decided to try a chocolate croissant ($5) and ordered a French onion burger ($18) also. The chocolate croissant was a bit disappointing. Flakey crust on the outside but as you tear a section off, it's relatively flat and lacking layers. Mostly air. My preference is for a honeycomb section. French onion burger was good. The cashier mentioned fries were extra and figure I'd save some calories. Though looking after the menu said it comes with salad or fries. Housemade seseame bun was a bit too large for the burger patty. Burger to bun ratio should be about equal or larger than 1.0. Just my opinion. Burger had gruyere spread, crispy shallots and onion jam which added to a flavorful burger. Service here is just average and not too friendly. Folks behind the counter had RBF for some reason. The cafe itself is sizable with ample seating to accommodate the lunch crowd. Not sure if I'd be back. Overall, an okay experience at best.

Yelp
The sauce of the steak frite is a bit salty, the rest of the food quality is pretty good. Matcha latte is hit or miss... Truffle fries is our favorite. The ambiance is calm and relax. Service is up to standard, nothing very impressed.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go with my faves and this is my first time back since they renovated. Sooo cute. What an amazing revamp and the food is still as good as ever. I had the spinach feta croissant and the vanilla latte. Can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
Had dinner nearby but my sweet tooth told me to walk over to a dessert spot. After a quick yelp research, oh la la was the closest. I was really happy to see a spot like this open late, it reminded me of New York or Paris cafes. If you're a sucker for cookies and ice cream, order it from their dessert menu for some inner child nostalgia because you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
10/10 would go again to try everything else! There are a lot of French bakeries in Pasadena, but this is first time I've been impressed. Regardless of the long line, the staff were friendly and efficient, and my food came out quick. The decor was thoughtfully done, colorful, bright and attractive. I had a cappuccino that was fine, nothing crazy there. The breakfast croissant was simple, but high end and delicious in its individual ingredients. Fluffy French scrambled eggs with the cheese cooked into them, sweet meaty bacon, and a crunchy salty buttery croissant with stunning lamination.
google avatar

Nicholas L.

Yelp
Oh La La has now FURTHER expanded/renovated into a truly classy, cozy and welcoming space. The decor is beautifully curated and tasteful (except the bathroom - wow, what a vibe! - which you need to experience to truly know), and the food offerings have now expanded beyond just brunch but now include lunch as well. Apparently, dinner plans are in-the-works too, making for a full service dining experience to come. You still have to order up at the counter, but thankfully, the staff is courteous, pleasant and knowledgable. The baked goods and pastries selection has likewise increased, and the place is always humming with activity in the mornings. Mercifully, it's a bit quieter in the afternoons, where I like to go for chill coffee meetings. As before, it's amazing to see the owners, humble as ever, working with their staff behind-the-scenes as well as bussing tables and helping with inventory. These young guys truly roll up their sleeves and are team players, which makes me want to support them even more.

Yelp
Short Review: Well, just found my new breakfast spot in Pasadena! Very French. Very good! They have everything. Longer Review: So, admittedly, I'm a S. Lake Ave snob when it comes to breakfast in Pasadena. When my friends invited me to this place, I was a little skeptical. But, I was very pleasantly surprised. Cute spot with a great, bright, fun ambiance. The food is good breakfast fare, with a French flair and even French ingredients (wheat, flour). All baked and cooked from scratch. Absolutely amazing. Give yourself time when you come. Tables are first come first serve, so once you go through the line to pay for your food, there could be a bit of a wait. But well worth it!!
google avatar

Marshie M.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was January 2024. The bakery is clean. They state that since the flour is from France and other countries, gluten is not an issue. Since I do t have to be gf it's not a concern of mine but some our group was happy.

Yelp
This place is amazing with great service and fantastic food ! 10 outta 10 highly recommend! Try the goat cheese cheesecake ambiance is lovely!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the place to pick up a coffee and pastry! Highlights for your reading pleasure: Pros: + great service, staff is friendly and welcoming + great vibe, it has a very retro and relaxed feel + the coffee, stellar (pro tip: you can a hint of Lavender to any coffee for extra sweetness) + pastries - best in the neighborhood! Cons: This is absolutely no reflection on the restaurant. An unhoused individual appears to hang out on this block, near the dispensary across the street. Today he came over as I was eating outside and started harassing patrons. I would recommend eating inside when visiting.
google avatar

Yelp
* No baby changing station in bathroom * stroller friendly Buttery croissants, delicious treats and really flavorful food. This place really great, if you aren't familiar with Pasadena be ready to drive around for parking. (I am not that familiar with it so, I'm not much help on that front.)
google avatar

Yelp
We live around this area so we frequent this place. It closed for a few weeks for renovations recently and I was devastated that I couldn't drop by for a quick bite or snack. Pro tip go early (like opening time) - they sell out of their popular pastries quickly. Everything we've had here is amazing - coffee, pastries, lunch and breakfast. Everyone who works there is helpful and kind. The space is beautiful - it's a great place to go whether you're wanting to enjoy a cup of coffee by yourself and read a book or grabbing a lunch with your coworkers. Breakfast croissant was delicious- simple, buttery and tasty. Every part of grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The bread is really fresh. The small sliced zucchini was a unique touch. The shoe string fries were well fried and salty.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
A criminally underrated, high quality cafe and bakery located in Pasadena's E Colorado Blvd, this establishment is often overlooked and overshadowed by its competitors, such as Artisan Goods down the street. However, at least in regard to the baked goods (particularly the croissants), this shop does right, and consistently well. The chocolate and plain croissants are arguably the best I've had in Southern California. The service is attentive and quick, and there is more than ample seating here. It was certainly quite a treat to come here and I shall be back!

Yelp
Oh La La is a delightful escape to the South of France (we're playing make believe here, stay with me), right in the heart of California. After its recent makeover, complete with a full kitchen, this French bakery has transformed into a vibrant, tropical-inspired haven. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, with its stunning colors, beautiful artwork, and the open sky light creating a bright and welcoming space that's perfect for a fun group outing. I had the Egg Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious--light yet satisfying. The Maple Sea Salt Latte was the perfect complement, like a warm autumn kiss in a cup. Whether you're here for a quiet morning coffee or a lively gathering with friends, Oh La La offers a unique experience that feels both relaxing and refreshing. Plus, the staff definitely match the decor, vibrant energies. Definitely a must-visit in Pasadena!

Yelp
Foods was delicious. I had an almond croissant. It was crisp and had a lot of almond paste. I restaurant was clean and had a lot of fresh cool water to drink! I come back to try their fresh baked bread.
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly one of these pastries I've ever had! The Matcha Berry drink was delicious. They're a bit pricey but it's worth it!
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
A cozy cafe to unwind and meetup for. You'll be walking into a long line of their pastry offering. Once you finish ordering, you can find a table where ever you like. I like my pastries heated up, but this bakery does not allow such. Nevertheless, the goods were not any surprises to what I was expecting.

Jackie G.

Yelp
I went here with high expectations based on photos. First of all, tables are 5 inches apart - basically elbow to elbow with people next to you and where conversations mix. Second, the fries - shoe string? Worst then that - hair string. Waffle was heavy, thick , uncooked inside since I was loaded with cream brûlée on top. It was like chewing on half cooked dough.
google avatar

Y T.

Yelp
4.5 Really delicious. Went a little later in the day. I think it is most crowded around 10-11ish am. When we arrived most of the pastries were gone (though they still had lots of croissants) but we were there for the ordered items so it was ok. I couldn't resist the Chive Croissant and I was glad I got it because it was flaky and deliciously buttery and filled with chive flavor. Brioche Eggs Benedict - perfectly poached high quality eggs. Beautiful deep yellow oozing yolk. Potato Gravlax - I liked this item the best. Plenty of lemony creme cheese in the middle to compliment the potato dauphinois and salmon. Satisfying in an indulgent way. Creme Brulee Waffle - waffle was not crisp at all, which I was a little surprised by. BUT the pastry creme with that crackling perfectly browned sugar top and sweet strawberries more then made up for it.
google avatar

Danielle T.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday around 10:30 and it was the perfect Sunday morning vibe! We tried a couple pastries - kougn aman and the ham and cheese croissant. Sooooo yummy. I also got the wild mushroom tartine which was sooo good and I think vegan? We stayed to do work and it was a chill vibe despite it getting busier. Their cold brew coffee was delicious and I love the glasses they came in! Definitely check it out if you're in the area
google avatar

Kailin H.

Yelp
Came in too late in the afternoon (~1pm) for any fresh pastries, which is a bummer so I just got a cacao mint latte. It was nice and creamy and you can taste both chocolate and mint! Friendly staff and super cute ambiance!
google avatar

Alexis Y.

Yelp
Pricey but delicious! I had been visiting this place periodically for years, back when it was Lovebirds Cafe. Fortunately, the overall vibe and menu options seem to be pretty similar to the previous restaurant. Staff were very friendly and delightful to interact with, and my order was made fresh and ready just a few minutes later. Breakfast Sandwich: 10/10 It's huge, totally worth adding avocado too. When I got home with my order, I ended up topping it off with arugula for extra vibes. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while. Tropical fruit tart: 10/10 Party in my mouth! So yummy and flavorful. Mixed berry fruit tart: 9/10 Could've been slightly sweeter but still fantastic.

Yelp
Beautiful renovation. The interior is very calming, bright and spacious. The pastries were delicious and huge. Prices were fair and the staff was so kind. The space was clean with plenty of seating. Nice to see the bakery area through glass along with the bags of French flour. I found 2 hour free parking on the side street.

Yelp
My son and I both orders the breakfast croissant with scrabble eggs and bacon. The croissant was buttery and flaky all you want in a breakfast sandwich. Let me begin with the eggs were so fluffy and buttery when i took the first bite there were fireworks in my mouth. My son and I were loving this croissant breakfast and a pretty good size too. Along with our breakfast croissants, I ask what would be a pretty good latte and was recommended the their seasonal maple latte. Omg! this is such a good creamy and not too sweet latte. I really do recommend it if you are going for the fall/ Winter seasonal. When we walked in the ambiance was warm and beautiful. It is a walk up service to place your order. However, they do bring your food to the table. We are definitely going back because my son keeps asking me to take him soon. This place is a must in Pasadena.
google avatar

Yelp
First time oversell with the bakery goodies, they even have breakfast menu, and Dinner menu. I had a breakfast croissant very delicious, pastries an Almond smashed croissant, crispy ears, Monkey Bread, and a Cherry Almond cookie with a cup Vanilla latte. I will try the dinner soon. Open till 9

Yelp
Service is good but that's about it. The food is sub-par. The flavors are just not there! I've been to France a couple of times and if this place mimics French food/pastries... sadly misses the mark. The sauce for the chicken tasted burnt and the chicken itself was dry and over cooked and hard. The pastries looked good but that's about it; lacked flavor! The lasagna was funny bc there was no meat inside the lasagna ... it was outside of the lasagna on the plate. WTH?! The burger was just ok but the fries with it was pretty good and crispy! This place is disappointing and not worth it plus it costs too much! Not coming back.

Yelp
Living in the SFV is advantageous on many culinary fronts. One of which is, that if you drive about half an hour east on the 210, you will come to Pasadena. Here you will find, Oh La La, a bakery, breakfast and lunch spot with a French theme. There are the usual fresh breads and pastries and other full meal items. The menu was tempting me to go all out, but I came here for coffee, because I had plans for lunch elsewhere, in Pasadena. I ordered my favorite, a medium Americano - as a rule, I do not like to dilute my poison :) They gave me a table number and the coffee arrived in a lovely blue cup and saucer (see my picture). Yes, no paper cups, no self serve, no calling out names. It was delivered to the table. The coffee was strong, robust and at the perfect temperature. I need to come back to try other items from the small, but enticing menu.

Yelp
OH LA LA -- Cafe, Bakery, Kitchen has been open nearly a whole year and I never knew of its existence until a month ago when I passed by it in the car. With it finally on my radar, I made a visit with my husband this past Saturday evening, around 4:30 pm. I wanted to pick up some bread because my husband and I were planning on making chili for the whole family for dinner and wanted to pick up an assortment of bread (and of course I also made rice for traditional people like my mom because it isn't a proper meal without rice). I was greeted by a friendly employee at the register. An employee also smiled from behind the counter when I walked in. I ended up purchasing: Multigrain Batard, $8- This bread had sunflower seeds and oats baked in. The bread was softer than the other breads that I purchased, which my mom liked (she said the other breads were too hard for her to eat so she skipped on those). I wasn't the biggest fan of this bread but my husband liked it, along with my other family members. Baguette, $8- I loved the chew of this baguette and ended up being my favorite of the 3 breads we purchased. Sourdough, $14- Please note that you can purchase half for $8 but my husband suggested we purchase the full so that there was enough bread for everyone. I really liked this bread too and thought it was nice and chewy. -------------------------------- (Total= $30) My family members had asked me where I had purchased the bread because they all seemed to really like it and thought it went well with our homemade chili. I was tempted to purchase dessert and pastries that I saw in the glass case but decided against it since another family member had already promised that they would bring dessert. But I definitely see myself coming back here to try the pastries and other breads with my little girl dog, as there are a few tables and chairs outside (and of course there are plenty of chairs and tables inside too). There is free street parking available on the street, but please be aware of the time limits.

Yelp
Beautiful space with plenty of pleasant, natural lighting, comfortable seating, and solid WiFi making it a great place for studying. I loved the greenery and southern French style. Matcha latte, and lemon donut were delicious!! I loved that they offered agave syrup as sweetener on the side for free so you could adjust the sweetness to your taste. We ordered the maple sea salt latte and cocoa mint latte as well. The milk texture was great in both. I would love a little stronger mint flavor in the cocoa mint since I got a strong cocoa taste but not as much mint. Perhaps a mint leaf on top as garnish might be cute too :) The eggs in the house breakfast plate were cooked perfectly. Also got the French burger which had some delicious cheese as sauce. I would have preferred the burger to be a little more moist since it was a little dry. The salad on the side looked great but was a little too salty. I loved the complimentary water pitchers which were beautiful and reminded me of France. The service was great and the cafe overall seems like a well-oiled machine. Everyone seems to know what they're doing. My friend and I sat here most of the day to study and did not feel rushed or uncomfortable which was also really nice. The only thing we lacked were more access to outlets but I understand that the cafe can't exactly add that. So if you plan to work, make sure to have a fully charged device when coming. Overall a great cafe, I would give it a 4.5/5 :)

Yelp
I found the Customer Service by the following team members of Ooh La La to be equal to that of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, five star excellent !!! Lauren Athena Crystal Daniel Kadir. Each of the employees make sure to have a very bright, warm, and welcoming smile when they were helping, the personalities are always very upbeat, and they never made me feel rushed, and they were taking my order, and the almond croissants today bought were just utterly outstanding ‍ , and the lavender latte was tantalizingly taste!!! Each of these employees did such an outstanding job on helping me they deserve a $10 an hour rate. I look forward to coming back again and highly recommend this place. !!!!

Yelp
Was excited to finally see another cafe in Pasadena aside from Urth that closes at/past 9pm. It was around 6pm when I came in and I wanted to order some food and coffee with a pastry but I was told they no longer served coffee after a certain time and the pastry options were limited... so safe to say I had to go back to Urth lol. If you're looking for a calm ambiance and light dinner this place may be a good option for you, but if you're looking for a light dinner, coffee, pastry trio option- not here.

Yelp
A really solid French Boulangerie in Pasadena with a great atmosphere! I kept hearing about this spot so I finally stopped by Friday morning and the place was pretty busy! I ordered a Jambon buerre sandwich that was fantastic. Great, great baguette, soft on the inside with that great crust on the out. Lean flavorful ham and loads of butter, just the way it is in France! Simple delicious and to the point. The Croissant wasn't bad but just okay, it was a bit too dense inside and the outside was mostly soft and not very crispy except for the center hood or fold. It wasn't greasy or overly buttery but still had a good croissant flavor. Sadly the Hojicha latte was just not good and the only disappointment. It was too milky and hardly any "tea" flavor from the hojicha. Still, a great place for the food and I'd definitely return.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Saturday, I've been excited to try this place as I had seen a few posts on Instagram about their bread and pastries. Since we came in later the day, the pastry case wasn't as full, they were sold out on a few things. I was greeted promptly by a friendly staff member. You can order the pastries from the case directly with her and pay at the counter. When we got to the counter to order our main entrees, the man taking orders was not very friendly, beyond aloof and made the whole interaction very uneasy. Maybe he wasn't feeling well because he was very tall and was hunched over with his arms braced on the counter like he was trying to hold himself up? It was just a strange interaction. What we ordered: we wanted to try the bread basket/sampler that we've seen all over social media but I was told that was no longer available as they have changed their menu. Bummer. - [ ] Pain au chocolat - very flaky and buttery. It didn't look very pretty but it tasted good. - [ ] Chocolate Almond Croissant. Saving this for tomorrow, not sure how it tastes but it's very flat for a croissant. - [ ] Croque Monsieur. This was hubby's entree. It was a nice portion size and very tasty. Would order again. - [ ] Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This tasted good. It was messy to eat because they sliced the chicken into pieces so a piece of chicken would fall out every time I took a bite. The bread was sliced thin so it didn't hold the ingredients in well, everything was kinda floppy and falling out. Also this sandwich was the same price as the other sandwiches on the menu, those came with a side of fries but this one did not. That was odd to me. It was $19 for a half sandwich. The value is not there since there are no sides. Food here is good but the prices are a bit high for what it is. Maybe if the service was better it would make up for the cost but it's wasn't there for me today.

Yelp
Drinks were good, food was good. I like that everything is made fresh daily and if they run out then that's it. Prices are higher than they should be for basics like baguettes and croissants. A bit of a money grab. But regardless I'd still come back.

Yelp
Sunday afternoon at 4pm. The bakery is wiped out. Plain croissants and sandwiches left. I thought about this spot last minute but didn't think there would only be plain croissants left an hour before closing. I was here so decided to try the only croissant available and a cafe latte. Croissant was buttery on the inside with a slight flaky crunch outside. No need for spread it was tasty as is. Latte was fine without any added flavored syrup and I was ok without sweetener too. At 4pm on a Sunday, the place was clean and not busy. Regulars probably know nothing would be left at this time? There were customers strolling in (most likely the same way I came in on a whim). The guy who took my order was helpful and likely French (accent gave it away). I'll need to come in much earlier on my next visit.
