"Located at 921 E. Colorado Boulevard just off Lake Avenue in the former Love Birds Cafe space, the new Oh La La bakery debuts Saturday, June 24; it’s led by third-generation French baker Jean‑Paul Veziano (who owns Boulangerie Veziano in Antibes) with partners Maxence Bouvier and Thomas Kocer, and day-to-day ovens run by chefs Morgan Hawthorne and Tristan Bournot, who trained under Veziano and previously baked at Bob’s Well Bread. Bouvier says the yeast they use for all breads is 50 years old and that their viennoiseries and patisseries are made using old-school traditional techniques and ingredients, promising products with identical quality and history to those made in the South of France. The team views the bakery as a start-up aiming to scale quickly, with plans for a second Westside location by year-end and a production facility to support wholesale; hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m." - Cathy Chaplin
