Gion Banh Mi & Tea

A great little spot to pick up a delicious Bahn Mi. I had the traditional cold cut Bahn Mi and it was excellent. The first thing I noticed was how the bread felt. It was perfect, crunchy on that outside and soft on the inside. And the amount of meat that they stuff it with is simply awesome! I do wish that it had more of the pickle veg to balance out all of that meat. The place itself is tiny with pretty much a counter to place your orders. There is also a self serve kiosk if you wish to place an order that way. There’s only two very small tables outside. Other than like you’ll have to take it to go.

First Time at Gion and Definitely Not the Last! We finally checked out Gion, a spot known for their banh mi sandwiches and refreshing drinks and let’s just say, they did not disappoint. Since it was our first visit, we had to go all in and try a variety. We ordered three different banh mi: the chicken, pork, and the monthly special meatloaf. Each one brought something different to the table, but the meatloaf sandwich easily stole the show. It was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and just a touch of sweetness. The pork came in close behind tender, flavorful, and that signature sauce they use? Game changer. The chicken was solid too, especially if you prefer a lighter bite. To cool off, we grabbed a mint lemonade and passion fruit tea both super refreshing and a perfect pairing with the sandwiches. Heads up: you might have to wait around 15 minutes during peak times because this place gets busy but trust us, it’s well worth the wait. If you’re a banh mi lover or just looking to try something new, Gion needs to be on your list.

I don't have great pictures of it but this banh mi is packed! It might costs a little more than the delis in Little Saigon. But it's easily more filling and a better quality. I got the classic with the deli cold cuts, pate, veggies, and pork floss. How neat. Never had pork floss with them before. Not sure if there was cilantro but definitely would have enjoyed it. I couldn't finish it in one sitting and ate half before work. And the other half at work. Would definitely come here again.

Everything tastes very good. Gion is definitely one of my fav banh mi in town. I drove an hour to get here and i think it’s totally worth it. With the price and the portion they give, i think it’s very reasonable. I love the crunchinesses, clean, high quality. The staffs are so nice and sweet. They are one of the places i have no complaints:)

BOBA AND FOOD REVIEW COMING UP: It was our first time ever trying this place!! I placed a pick-up order for me and my partner since we’ve been wanting to try this for so long. I got the pork bahn mi and she got the chicken bahn mi. The chicken one had a lot of chicken in it but also kind of fatty. The pork one was honestly the BEST! It’s actually the first time I’ve ever ordered a pork sandwich like this because I get too nervous about the fat but WOW, I was so surprised and I’m glad I got it. It was thin meat and barely any fat, it was grilled to perfection. The fillings were also perfect. The jalapeños were exquisite BUT spicy — they really know how to pick fresh, spicy ones!! So if you’re not a fan of spicy, please remove those or get pickled jalapeños because then it’s on you and not them (they should never be blamed for this lol). Now the BOBA: We actually came here because I was digging boba and wanted to find a good boba spot near us and saw this shop had plenty of options so I got excited!! I got the brown sugar milk tea boba and honestly I was a little disappointed. :( They charge extra for boba which I don’t mind at all - but the boba was not fresh and were very hard so it kind of ruined it. The brown sugar milk tea also could’ve been creamier and sweeter. My partner got the passion fruit iced tea with boba which tasted pretty artificial and the boba also was the same problem. Definitely would come back here for the pork bahn mi — the bread was fresh and the whole thing was extremely tasty. So glad we came here and tried it out. :)

When you enter the store, there is an IPad on the table on the right hand side where you can place your order. I've seen some stores using this system recently, but I don't really like it. I thought it would be better to just order it online. We ordered grilled pork sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich under my name. I waited outside for a while, but my name wasn't called, so I went inside the store and found my name on the order rack. If restaurant staff take orders by name, they should call out customer's name when the food is ready. How many customers know that? We took the sandwiches home and ate them. Both sandwiches were plentiful and tasty.The sandwich contents were good and satisfying

One of the best Banh Mi in the Seattle area. They also make great bubble tea and coffee. The sandwiches are huge, you could probably split one and be fine. My husband and I both ordered our own and neither of us could finish it. He got the pork and I got the chicken - delicious.

This is our go to banh mi spot in W Seattle. Sandwiches are delicious and the bread is always fresh and tasty. Our favorites are the grilled pork and classic pate - we always get the Thai ice tea combo. My partner is picky with her banh mi and this is her favorite spot right now!

FIVE STARS to OH's Sandwiches! Their banh mi is among the best I've had in Seattle. The bread is baked to perfection--crispy on the outside and warm, fluffy on the inside. It's light yet sturdy, perfectly complementing the generous fillings of top-quality cold cuts, mayo, fresh veggies, and pâté. Everything is made in-house, which really elevates the experience. My favorite is the classic banh mi; the pickled vegetables are perfectly seasoned, adding a delightful crunch and tang. I also tried the chicken banh mi, which was loaded with whole chicken thigh meat. While it was flavorful, I found it a bit unmanageable to eat; I prefer my chicken shredded for easier eating. Pro tip: order ahead on Toast Tab and pick up at the deli to save time. Overall, a must-visit for anyone craving a delicious sandwich!

BEST bahn mi sandwiches ever!! We had lunch at this cute little shop today. It is a tiny shop but their bahn mi was so good! I tried the traditional and my girls got the grilled pork and the tofu. Their portions are very generous and their bread is super crunchy and good. They have a few cute yellow tables and chairs to sit on outside of their place. They don't have a parking lot, but street parking was easy to find. The workers were very friendly and brought the food out to us. Highly recommended if you have a craving for bahn mi.

Coming out to Seattle from LA, I had an amazing bahn mi with some of the freshest bread ever! Will definitely have to come back the next time I'm in the west Seattle

The best banh mi in Seattle and I've eaten at many shops in the last 29 years! You pay a bit more but the sandwiches are packed. Great and friendly service too!

Very unassuming place. The banh mi is more expensive than the other spots up international district (saigon deli my usual go to), but the sandwich surprised me in a good way. I got the grilled pork banh mi and it came with a lot of meat. It had way meat than the other banh mi spots I usually go to-specifically there seemed to be some pork butt along with the grilled pork. The sandwich also came with pate, which is always a plus. I just got some banh mi since I was in the area and it came out relatively quick. The flavors together were really good, it could have used more veggies. However, to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be memorable, but it was so I had to write this review.

Oh's is definitely my favorite Vietnamese sandwich place in Seattle. Sure, you can find some decent places in Seattle. However, they definitely don't skimp on the fillings, also making it a great value for the price ($9 pre-tax per sandwich). I would definitely order the classic and grilled pork banh mi. They load it up with meat, pate, and vegetables. The meat is good quality and flavorful, as well. The staff have always been nice and it's pretty quick service.

Pretty hearty bahn-mi sandwich. They had 4 sandwich options to choose from. I ordered chicken. Real tasty lots of meat and substance. I ordered the strawberry black tea / green tea with popping boba! Super delicious! Fair price for everything. Love the simple menu options and friendly service staff! Small waiting area. Not much room. You can't dine in really.

everything here is so good! the only disappointment was that it took 30 mins to make a regular sandwich! but I understand because they had technical difficulties that day . my kid loves it and the drinks are always tasty!

Yum! I just needed some Vietnamese coffee and just saw that this place had fantastic reviews. Added a grilled pork Bahn mi and was not disappointed!

Oh my gosh. I came back after a couple years. First time I wasn't impressed because the meat was sparse and not very good. Today's was a complete 360. It was flavorful and full of grilled pork. Definitely more pricey ($9) than your standard banh mi, but the amount of filling makes up for it. Called in my order and it was ready within 15 minutes. Unfortunately street parking is tight and I had to park around the corner on Hanford. Will definitely be a go to on work from home days.

A simple menu and fair prices for what you get. I got the classic and it was very tasty and with quite a kick! Let them know you don't want jalapeños if you can't handle heat. They prefer cash but will take card for .50 extra under $10 or no added fee if more than $10. Thai tea was pretty tasty too, a little too sweet for my liking but nonetheless good. Not much seating inside. This is primarily a to-go place. Street parking outside; however busy! You can quickly park across the street in the retail garage for free.

I have been wanting to come here for a while and finally glad I did. The sandwiches are huge and delicious for a very fair price. I have eaten many ban mi's in my day and this one is now high up on the list. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Not a place to go and sit down but pick up a few sandwiches and beverages and head to the park. Love this place.

I went in at rush hr and even though the shop was very busy, the staff was able to take my order very quickly and with great energy. The Banh Mi was really tasty and was filled with meat. Best Banh Mi that is have had in Seattle. The shop is really cute, kinda reminds me of me if it is inside a shipping container.

I tried coming here once but I came in the afternoon and they sold out all of their sandwiches, so I found another time to come back!!! We ordered the tofu sandwich and honestly, it's one of the best banh mi I had in a really long time. There are some little critiques here and there but overall it was really good. For one, the sandwich is a hefty size. They stuffed the bread with so much stuff!!! I like the fillings they use, it was refreshing and good quality. I also like that they added some fried shallots or onion to give that extra texture. It was also a messy eat as the sauce was dripping literally every bite you take. The flavor is spot on too and the bread was toasted perfectly. Oh and the jalapeno gives a nice kick Some minor critiques: the marinated tofu wasn't evenly distributed so some tofu didn't get the marination and it was bland. Also, the bread wasnt as memorable as other bread, it wasn't as fluffy and didn't have too much bread inside but was still soft. I also feel weird when I asked for a plastic knife to cut the sandwich and they were going to charge me 10 cents for it! I never had that happen before

Overall rate for service, food and drink. 5/5 I got the combo 2. Bahm mi with Tofu, and Chai tea w/ Tapioca and Boba.

Food: I grow up and reside in Vietnam myself for the majority of my life, and let me tell you that if you want a 100% AUTHENTIC taste of Vietnamese sandwich, this is the place for you. As someone who travels a lot for work and reviews many popular eateries, there is very few stores that manage to capture the true essence of our cuisine- the meat is seasoned perfectly with a nice texture, and the baguette is very spot-on. Everything tastes very fresh, especially the veggies in the sandwich. Not only is the sandwich amazing, but it is also very heathy and balance overall for all those gymners out there. The Thai tea is also very tasty, and the boba is cooked at the perfect texture. Service: The staff is very friendly, and assemble the sandwich relatively quickly. The owners are specifically very sweet, and will say Hi to you. The overall experience is very pleasant, and deserves to receive another high score for me. Ambiance: The store's ambiance is very warm and welcoming. This is more like a to-go place, but since everything about it have been excellent that I really hope the business can expand, so the taste of Vietnamese cuisine can be more wide spread and appreciated! Really recommended this place if you are in town.

Best Bahn Mi in West Seattle! Outrageous value, beyond delicious... and don't forget a Thai Tea.

I have been loving the ban mi sandwiches at Oh's since they first open. Oh's delicious fresh baked rolls, pickled vegetables, marinated tofu, chicken and pork, topped with fresh cilantro and jalapenos if you were the best sandwiches I have ever purchased, that is until today. Today, was the first time I walked in and wasn't greeted by the owner, today was also the first time I have ever had a sub par sandwich at Oh's. Today's sandwich had zero flavor and was topped with wilted parsley, not cilantro, the only part of the sandwich with flavor was the very thin slice of jalapeno. I'm not sure when the owner returns from Vietnam and the two young people staffing Oh's would not tell me. I will NEVER go here again, unless significant improvements take place, including making sure to put cilantro on the sandwiches and not swap out parsley, a horrible flavorless choice on what's, for years been the most delicious sandwich I have ever purchased. I hope the owner returns soon and can regain quality, however, I will not, nor would I recommend that anyone look forward to a delicious, full of flavor sandwich, until she returns. I'm looking forward to her return, to share my disappointment and hoping delicious, quality will return to Oh's.

Fast, friendly and tasty place for your banh mi and boba fix! Highly recommend. Banh mi was fresh and packed with ingredients (got the veggie). Taro milk tea with boba did not disappoint.

pro: grill pork rice the grill pork was soft not so dry like other places. the egg was ok. the soy sauce was excellent. the salad ok. avocado smoothie not too sweet was good the grill pork sandwich is nice but not as good as the rice. I didn't like the combination sandwich. the bread itself was nice not too dry and the meats were a lot but i just didn't like what meats were used. overall if im in the area ill be stopping by. I think they are a nice little sandwich made fresh. it is just i seem to only like very few thing on the menu. recently their price changed since I last visit a year ago. but i don't really mind since i know they use a lot of meats in their sandwich.

A solid tofu bahn mi! I would have liked a bit more of the lemongrass marinade in the sandwich, though. Still, great value!

Another one of the small businesses we wanted to support in the West Seattle area. The Yelp reviews for this place are fantastic so it was definitely on our list from the first time we went to West Seattle. This is in our top 3 Banh Mi ever! The bread is exactly as it should be, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We tried both the grilled pork and the grilled chicken and for us hands-down the grilled pork was the winner in terms of flavor (explosion)! The vegetables were very fresh. You do have the option to add extra veggies for a small fee which we really wish we had done so we highly recommend that. Next time we would like to try the tofu Banh Mi which is a great option for my vegetarian son (who just wasn't hungry this go around LOL). Thai tea was super flavorful as well!

This was an impulse stop during a quick trip to Seattle. We got the standard Bahn Mi and it was outstanding. We live in the Cincinnati area and my 20 year old daughter regularly talks about needing to go back to Seattle just to get the sandwiches from Oh's. Because there is no indoor seating we took our sandwiches to a nearby park and enjoyed the view while we ate. Just perfect!

Probably the best bahn mi in West Seattle. They really pack in the meat and the pickled daikon and cilantro. Does it feel wrong to pay $10 for a Bahn mi? Yes. But at least you get a huge sandwich which arguably has enough protein for 1.5 sandwiches..

Incredible. I just moved away from Seattle, and Oh's Sandwiches is one of the things I miss most. The sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had.

Grilled pork banh mi is delicious. Their brown sugar boba tea is also very good. This is a little shop and they were turning out food really fast with only two people. Excellent service.

This place is awesome! I've had Bahn Mi's at a lot of other places but these are probably my favorite. We have had the grilled pork, grilled chicken and the traditional. They bread is always fresh crispy outside and soft inside, the layers of different flavors, pickled veggies, jalapeños, pâté and VERY generous portions of meat! The grilled pork is def my fav we try to come here at least once a week! I ordered a bunch of sandwiches last weekend they were the PERFECT boat snack!! Will def continue to come here, super glad I live close to here!!

To be honest, it's tough to rate this place. Prices are fair compared to what sandwiches cost nowadays, though quite expensive if you compare it to international district prices ($9 at oh's versus $5.75 at Saigon deli) . My other gripe with this spot is they've gotten very popular, very fast and it does still seem to be a family running the operation - just a mom and daughter. So you end up waiting anywhere from 15-35 minutes for a sandwich, and they also well out very quickly every day. Just something to be aware of. The food also sells out early every day... even though they are supposed to be open until 4pm. The food itself is solid. Love their banh mi and the boba isn't bad. I just hope they can scale their operations soon to accommodate for their popularity!

I've had these sandwiches before in Portland but was not impressed. I decided to give Ohs a try for bubble tea and the pork sandwich and was very impressed. Black mango milk Bubble tea was not overly sweet, and pork bahn was perfectly sauced with fresh veggies. Great sandwich ratio between bread and meat/veg. Will return. And affordable!

Great Banh mi sandwiches! Call in advance to order ahead (and do so before noon or you'll never get thru - they get very busy). My favorite is the grilled pork. The meat is perfectly seasoned, the bread is fresh and crispy, and the veggies are perfectly pickled.

A real boon to West Seattle. The serving size of tofu I had in my bahn mí was killer! Great flavor to tofu. Service was prompt and excellent. Will definitely be going back.

Generously sized banh mi on nicely crispy baguette. Tasty grilled pork. Tofu could use some more flavor. On the whole an excellent sandwich!

The staff was nice and the wait wasn't too long maybe 10 min? My first time here and I thought the prices were a bit high BUT the quality and the amount reflected it, so it was totally fine by me. Overall great I recommend the banh mis!

I've been here 3x's. If, I had option to rate with zero stars, I definitely would be doing so. Unfortunately, I'll have to express that Oh's Sandwiches are totally underwhelming. First, their baguette is too dense as in heavy and doesn't compliment contents of the sandwich and outer crust is not crisp. The daikon and carrots were too thick of a cut and were not soaked long enough to absorb the light rice vinegar combined seasoned dressing. This place is a total fail. It is very sad, I hope they take my rating to be Open and improve. For now, skip this place and save your hard earned money. Note: Seattle's ID and White Center has great Banh Mi. Saigon Deli, Lan Hue and Saigon Vietnam Deli are wonderful to get Banh Mi and other food.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. It's right across the street from where a friend of mine lives so it made for a good lunch once we finally got ourselves going from being lazy all morning. Was happy to see that they are observing all covid restrictions and only allowing two people in the store at a time with masks required. I ordered the #4 which has meat and pate on it. They inquired if I wanted jalapenos and that was a definite yes! I also ordered a Thai iced tea, which was delicious. The banh mi was great and full of flavor! I felt that the price was appropriate and I would definitely return again. Try it out for a good, well-priced sandwich!

Yum!! Limited menu at this little shop, just three bahn mi choices + lots of tea options. We got the original and the grilled pork. We actually ordered two grilled pork because we weren't sure how big they were. For the record, one was more than plenty for lunch! They seem bigger than other bahn mi's we've had. The bread was fresh and all the veggies as well. All the flavors meshed perfectly together. We did a call ahead take out order due to covid and it was ready quick, within 10 minutes. And did I mention so cheap?? Definitely the cheapest lunch option in west Seattle. We may be doing this weekly. Of note, there are some pictures of a rice bowl offering- Which they are not doing currently.

Overall this place is okay, there are only 2 other vietnamese restaurants around here (total: 3) and of them, 2 carry banh mi. So slim pickings in terms of banh mi. Everything is literally in the middle range of good; price is okay considering location, quality is okay but it is really clean though!
