Filipino Fast-Casual Arrives in the ‘Burbs - Eater San Diego

"Well-established in the Los Angeles area, where it operates locations on Santa Monica and Hollywood Boulevard, Oi Asian Fusion landed in Barrio Logan in 2018 with a quick-service menu of rice bowls that are primarily centered around interpretations of classic Filipino dishes, including adobo and tapsilog, but is also informed by everything from Korean and Japanese cuisine to American soul food. The fast-casual eatery’s new outpost in the Carmel Mountain Ranch Town Center opens this weekend in a 1,200-square-foot space. With items ranging from lumpia and pork belly buns to burgers and fries, the eatery’s newer offerings including the Ribeye Bistek rice bowl, a take on a traditional dish from the Philippines that is interpreted here with medium rare-cooked ribeye in ponzu garnished with shallots and a fried egg. Owner Jaypee Woo tells Eater that another popular special, the Oi Shrimp Bomb bowl with lemon-garlic Cajun-style shrimp, may also be returning." - Candice Woo

I have went here for lunch a handful of times. Rice bowls are pretty good and if isn't too busy then the food comes out pretty quickly.

How have I just found out about this place?! I was getting a haircut next door and was getting hungry so I decided to just walk right in and it was the best decision! I had the adobo bowl and after just my first bite, it was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth. It was so freaking good. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. It had this light crisp on the outside and was tender soft on the inside. Omg it was so good. It wasn’t what I was expecting when I think of traditional adobo as I am Filipino, but this was different and uniquely delicious. I am already thinking of going back to try more on the menu. The restaurant was also very inviting and the has good vibes music playing. They’ve got a self serve water station which was nice. I’ll be back for sure!

I’m so happy with this meal! The store is at Carmel Mountain Plaza, nice spot! It’s very cute inside, feels very artistic and cozy. I ordered a crawfish bowl, Dynamite sweet potato fries and a bottle of apple juice. I never had a bowl like that and it is soooooo delicious, surprisingly the crawfish goes so well with rice with their sauce, which I tasted eel sauce and some mayo. I highly recommend this. The Dynamite sweet potato fries is also a must have, the sweet potatoes are fried perfectly and the sauce is delicious. I definitely highly recommend this place. Plus their service is very friendly.

Google
I surprisedly found this place while dropping off my Amazon package next door. It is a little Filipino fusion restaurant with plenty of options. I was really happy with my food, I ordered dynamite crawfish ( which is not even their most popular bowl) but it came out to be so good and really hits the spot! Besides the food quality, I also enjoyed the portions which is not super big but pretty filling after all !! So happy that I found this secret gem. I will definitely come back to try out their chicken adobo bowl cuz it just looks so good!!

Very helpful and kind employees! I ordered at the wrong location and they were quick on solving my problem. I have also ate here many times at work and the food is great! 10/10 would recommend.

Lunch during the workday. It can be such a welcome respite from the madness. Before I transitioned into retirement it was about way more than just grabbing a bite to eat for me. When properly observed it was a time to recharge and prepare for the unknown challenges coming my way before I could eventually leave for home. If I had @oiasianfusion available to me back in those days I know that I would have loved coming here to seek lunch time refuge. The first thing you notice about their Pilipino/Japanese fusion is the smell. Somehow the scent wafts over to your table even before your meal arrives. Couple that smell with the visual presentation and your anticipation really kicks in. Rice bowls are their speciality and we sampled their “Dobo Bowl” (the pork had great flavor, the soft boiled egg was a great compliment, and this meal would have been complete if all it featured were the gravy and rice) and their “Karaage Rice Bowl” (the rice was best described as buttery and the Japanese fried chicken was crunchy, delicious, and had great texture). We also sampled the “Pork Bun” (which benefited magnificently from the flavors of the cucumber slices, of all things, and the bun was best described as resembling sweet bread). I also really enjoyed the great lunch hour blend of music they were playing (“Nu Flavor” and “Az Yet”) and attempting to label it. I felt pretty good with my initial label of “boy band” themed…until songs by Mary J. Bilge and “Total” came on. I eventually settled on “harmonizing vocals“ for my musical label for our visit. We found the service to be super friendly and welcoming. Their Vegan options are limited, but with a few subtractions during the ordering process you’ll be fine (if that happens to be your preference). And that’s…Henry’s Take. #sandiegoasianfusion #riceislife

Google
A different Filipino gastronomic experience for all food buffs. This resto serves the familiar Filipino comfort foods that we all love with a twist. We tried their best-sellers-- pork belly and adobo and it brought memories from home. You should also try their available desserts. We had the ube upside down pie. It was the bomb! Best way to end the hearty meal. 🤍🙏🏼

Yelp
Love all their meals! Can't go wrong with any.... I always over order, but it's never a problem, because when I don't finish... it's a leftover I don't mind having again!!! Don't forget to ask for the fried rice! I always forget when ordering ahead and try to remember for next time! lol.

Yelp
I stopped by Oi Asian Fusion on a weekend with my best friend, and we had a good experience. The service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. I tried the pork belly umami gravy bowl, and while the pork belly was tender, the dish didn't quite hit the spot for me. The gravy seemed to overpower the flavors and threw off the balance of the meal. Next time, I'll definitely explore other menu options instead. Overall, the great service and fast food delivery make it worth another visit!

Yelp
3.5/5 - tried this place out randomly for a quick lunch and it's definitely a hit or a miss depending on what you order. The worker recommended the tapsilog which he said was his personal favorite. I ordered it under his recommendation and it was disappointing. The meat was overcooked and dry and the sauce he gave was barely enough to hydrate the meat and the rice. I did however like the pickles that came with it. I was really expecting it to be more flavorful but was sadly underwhelmed. My husband ordered the adobo bowl and honestly it was really good. 5/5 - I instantly regretted my order after taking a bite of his adobo. The egg was great, the sauce was great and the meat was incredibly tender and juicy. My FIL ordered the chicken karage and he was disappointed in his as well as he said it was really dry and really needed more sauce. He felt like it was just missing something as his bowl was just fried chicken and rice. Not so fun and tasty. 2/5 It's your typical fast food take out spot but decent amount of seating inside.

Yelp
This is a quaint little spot with very unique Asian (often Filipino) inspired rice bowls. I have been a few times, and it honestly has been hit or miss, but most of the time it hits! The Pork Belly Bowl or the Adobo Bowl are usually pretty solid, and hold up well even for takeout. This place is located in a big shopping center in Carmel Mountain, so there is no shortage of parking spots. And the people at the counter are always very friendly and helpful to make recommendations and explain each dish! If you are ever feeling a very flavorful bowl of rice, this spot is definitely worth trying!

Yelp
Great bowls! I was impressed and pleased. I will definitely be back. The gravy's were delicious, and the wagyu beef impeccable

Yelp
Whenever I crave Filipino food and don't want to cook- this is my go to! Never ate in person, but when I picked up food it was a great vibe! The fried egg over the rice is everythingggggg esp w the fried chicken adobo!

Yelp
You just order at the kiosk. We dined in so the employee brought our food to my table. Customers doing takeout just walked right up to the counter. - Angus bun ($6.99): This was my favorite item. You would think there would not be anything that impressive about putting a burger patty into a bao, but it was a completely novel and delicious way of eating a burger. The soft fluffy bao wrapped around a juicy burger patty that was coated in multed swiss cheese and seared mushrooms. 100% recommend - Lumpia (egg rolls): 8 pieces for $6.99. These are shorter than any other lumpia I have ever eaten, but the meat was nicely seasoned and the skin was very crunchy. There was a sweet/spicy/sour dipping sauce included that complemented the lumpia well. I could have eaten another order. - Adobo bowl ($12.99): The braised pork belly was tender and generous in portion size. The soft boiled egg did not have as soft of a yolk as I would like, but that is just me being particular. Overall it is a good meal if you are in the mood for soft fatty pork belly with a sweet note, but it turns out I like my pork belly with crispy skin & I found the adobo sauce a bit too sweet. I probably would try something different if I come here again, maybe the tapsilog or karaage rice bowl with umami gravy instead of adobo sauce - Ribeye bistek bowl ($17.99): The meat is a tender cut of USDA choice ribeye. A fried egg with runny yolk and crispy shallots round out the flavor of this savory bowl. Portion size was decent, but of course it is more expensive than the other bowls due to the ribeye. We liked this bowl more than the adobo bowl. Parking is a free lot in a shopping center with lots of spots.

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing here. Of course, when you don't have an idea of what to eat, you can think of Oi Asian Fusion. It has a lick of filipino essence to it, much suited to taste of everyone's palate. The bowl I got for takeout was the Adobo Bowl. It is BOMB! The gravy is oh so mouth watering, and the pork belly just melts in your mouth. The rice was fluffy and slathered with the sauce so every single bite was super flavorful. And the soft boiled eggs just seals the meal. The service is super efficient and fast so getting the food was a breeze. Highly recommend getting the Adobo bowl if it's your first time.

Yelp
Really good!! The meat was phenomenal! No chewy parts, no bones, no issues, just great! And the pork bun was delightful!! Super helpful staff and when you get there they give you recommendations ANNDDDD there's pictures for the food!!! Seriously helped me make my decision! I'll be back soon! Thanks for my movie theatre snack leftovers also!!

Yelp
Delicious food! I've been ordering here for a couple years now and have never had any issues. Staff is friendly & they always have good recommendations when I'm not sure what I want.

Yelp
2nd time at Oi in 4 days, that is how much I like this place, their service and their food. Parking was not terrible on a Saturday night at dinner time, and luckily there was no wait when I arrived. The walls are covered with many pictures of the food and other assorted art, and there is loud music playing so it is like a fun casual scene. The person that took my order was super friendly and very nice. Glad to give recommendations too. I checked in on Yelp and got my free soda too. I recently tried the ribeye bistek bowl and it is phenomenal, but yesterday I decided to try the Dynamite crawfish and the Karage chicken and they are both really good too, but the ribeye bistek is my favorite for sure. The Karage chicken is filling and hearty, flavorful crunchy chicken. The Dynamite crawfish is very tasty and good, but not filling enough, not like the ribeye bowl is, and t he ribeye is just at tasty and flavorful but it is worth the extra $ for the Ribeye. I recently tried the Ube upside down dessert so I decided to try something different and got the mango dessert, like a caramel flan / custard and it was as sweet as they said it would be. It was delicious and devoured within a minute, but I think I like the Ube one a little bit better. If you want some good comfort food then give Oi a try.

Yelp
Every time I eat here it's delicious. I always get the adobo bowl & angus bun & it always hits even when I get it on door dash!

Yelp
We have come here for lunch and dinner - we have literally tried every dish they offer here and honestly never have been disappointed. We even brought our family and they loved it too. It's an order at the front and to go kind of style meal. They make the foods on the spot as you order.

Yelp
I asked for their most popular bowl, and they said it was by far the pork belly umami bowl. That is what I ordered, and it was super tasty! There was a lot of rice, and the yummy sauce over the pork accompanied it so well! They have a lot of fun other options like a loco moco bowl, and I can totally see where the fusion comes in! The people who work there seem like they love what they do. They were making every bowl look so aesthetically pleasing and there were very happy to provide recommendations. There was a small sign saying that orders may take 15 minutes and to be patient, but i felt like it was definitely quicker than that!

Yelp
Came up for an event in the area and we decided to eat here since we loved the Barrio Logan location. This location is busy with tons of mobile orders and there are only 2 guys working, but that doesn't take away from their great customer service. We were still greeted and ack event though they were both working on orders in the kitchen. Although we were the only ones dining in, there were a steady stream of people coming in picking up their orders. On top of that there is a note suggesting to place mobile orders ahead of time because of how busy the place is. But the food is soooo good that it is no wonder this place is so busy. And despite it being as such, we still got our food at a decent time. I believe within 15 mins which isn't bad. One of the guys was kind enough to bring it to our table and they also checked on us during our meal. Now to the good stuff. I got the pork belly umami, hubs got the chicken karaage bowl and we shared the lumpia and the pork belly jicama tacos. All fresh and flavorful, lots of food for a great price, we left stuffed! They also offer military discount! The restaurant was nice and clean, beautiful artwork and your typical Filipino ballads playing in the background. In fact we found our 30th wedding anniversary song thanks guys for a great Sunday brunch!

Yelp
Their bowls are so good! I decided to try the ribeye bistek bowl and hubby got the pork belly and umami gravy bowl. It's a fast casual restaurant, so you order at the counter and wait for them to bring our your food. It did take quite a while to get our bowls, but I wasn't in a rush. While waiting, I had their coconut water (in a can) and hubby chose a Sanpellegrino drink. The bowls were quite delicious! There servings were pretty generous, so I finished mine later on and it actually had more flavor! I loved the rice- it was flavorful and unique. Can't wait to try a different bowl the next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Date of visit: February 5, 2023 Believe the hype: the Ribeye Bistek Bowl is worth the price ($16.99)! I was in the area to pickup an online order from Elam's Hallmark, and had checked out the reviews for Oi Asian Fusion. A place that's rated #47 in North County San Diego by Yelp has to be worth trying... so I figured I'd do just that. Many of the reviews have raved about the Ribeye Bistek Bowl, so I went with that, along with an order of lumpia shanghai ($6.99 for eight pieces plus sweet and sour dipping sauce). Plus, with Yelp check-in, you get a free canned soda of your choice! Unfortunately, given how the place was packed, I had to wait for my order outside... and the cold weather set off the lingering remnants of my cold, leading me to ask for my order to go. Fortunately, the great staff was able to accommodate my request, and so I took off once I got my order - which because of my cold once again kicking in, ended up becoming today's lunch. Thankfully, my food still tasted great - the chunks of ribeye melded with the garlic fried rice and fried egg, and I still have leftovers for tonight's dinner! Trust me, the portions at Oi are big enough for two people (or one very hungry diner)! The lumpia was pretty solid; you can tell it was freshly cooked. Definitely keeping Oi in the weekend lunch rotation, especially as I want to try the Fried Chicken Adobo and the Ube Upside Down Pie!

Yelp
Been here three times now. Food is good for the most part- didn't care for the crawfish bowl but adobo and pork belly bowl are good! We like sharing the karage and lumpia- both yummy. Service is good, parking is abundant and free. Good, no frills experience!
google avatar

Bonnie F.

Yelp
We order from here frequently the food is very good. Tonight we had pork adobo, pork belly and egg rolls. It was all delicious. I asked for pickled radish on my adobo. I like that their to go containers are card board instead of plastic for the landfills. But I often have to reheat my food a little. Not a biggie. . their dynamite crawfish and Ube...pie are also tasty. This is Filipino Asian Fusion yummy

Yelp
Food was awesome! Service was super nice and he told us what was popular. They even shared their playlist with us. Will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Disappointed in today's visit. I've had Oi in the past and it has been good, but the Tapsilog I had today was dry, with too many fatty pieces. Smaller portion than I remember as well. Meals in the past have been good though, so chalking it up to a bad day, and will give them another shot.

Yelp
My experience at Oi Asian Fusion Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional, and I can't wait to return. The highlight of my visit - the Pork Belly Umami Gravy Bowl and Ribeye Bistek Bowl. Oh. My. Goodness. These dishes were an explosion of flavor in every bite. The pork belly was cooked perfectly. And that umami gravy? It was like nothing I've ever tasted before - so rich and savory, it took the dish to a whole new level. And yes, rice is life. I love how generous they are with their rice serving. All in all, if you're looking for a place with incredible food and a great atmosphere, look no further than Oi Asian Fusion Restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The adobo bowl is a must try!! I tried this place before at the location in Stanton, so I was excited that there was a location in San Diego. I had the karaage bowl before and loved it. The adobo bowl had crispy pork belly, rice, and a runny egg. It was the perfect portion for the price. My food came our pretty quickly and I liked how there was an ipad to order on my own. Inside has a bunch of seating and lots of decorations on the walls. I love how there are photos of each bowl. I highly recommend trying this asian fusion place!
google avatar

Noriko C.

Yelp
What a great fusion restaurant. Parking was a pain but that is because it's 5pm. Note to self....come at a better time. It wasn't crowded inside though. You order than seat yourself. Couple of eating spots inside, but there's some outdoor seating options available in a shared eating space with other eatery. Inside is kinda small so large groups would be pretty tough to accommodate. We ordered a couple of things...we planned it that way, so we can try a bite of each others. 1. Karage bun 2. Pork bun 3. Adobo bowl 4. Pork belly umami gravy 5. Shredded pork bowl 6. Ribeye bistek Everything was super tasty and well made. This place has a little of this and a little of that. Mix of Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Hawaiian and Mexican! We tried to get a little of everything to taste. I think we all agreed that the Pork Belly Umami was our favorite....I personally liked the karage bun, but thats because I like all kinds of buns! For dessert we had the delicious buko pandan and mango cream! What a great way to change our taste. Service was fantastic. They were very patient as we tried to figure out what we wanted to try. She even tried to help us speed up the process as we were going back and forth. (glad no one was waiting in line behind us!) Can't wait to come back soon! Maybe by then they will add some more drink variety to add to their "fusion" line of food.

Yelp
Filipino fusion bowls with a pretty straightforward formula: rice + protein + egg. It's a great casual bowl of comfort food when you're craving Filipino flavors but want something a little modern. We ordered the Fried Chicken Adobo, Mushroom and Egg, Ribeye Bistek, and Tapsilog bowls. Everything is generously seasoned and rice was nice and chewy. I was very impressed with the variety of mushrooms in the Mushroom and Egg bowl and I'd say it was my favorite dish. Altogether, though, they're a bit one dimensional in taste and lack a diversity in salt/acid/umami/sweet/heat. Additionally, they are a bit pricey for how much food you get. The surprise star in our meal was the Ube Upside Down Pie - not pictured because we ate it too fast. It's a deliciously creamy custard with that signature bright purple, topped with a sweet & buttery crumble. Make sure you grab one of those little guys!

Yelp
Glad this place managed to survive the pandemic! Having them available for lunch or dinner is a blessing. Give them a try when you're tired of burgers, burritos or pizza. Thank me later.
google avatar

Katrinna J.

Yelp
I went back to try the pork belly bowl but I am disappointed again. I miss how they used to make it years ago. The pork belly looks soggy and unappetizing. I ate it because I was just hungry. They had few workers before but I didn't even see 2 people working.
google avatar

Derek I.

Yelp
Best Filipino food north of the 56! There's some options, but the execution here is just primo. The ribeye bistek was tender, packed with flavor and not greasy. My wife got the pork belly bowl, also super tender and flavorful. The over easy egg is a nice touch and it was cooked perfect - great for mixing in with piping hot rice. My wife is pretty picky on Filipino restaurants and this got her stamp of approval. We're frequently in this area and are happy to say we've got another meal option if we're out and about.
google avatar

Jeanie P.

Yelp
Love the location it's in. The staff was friendly. Clean environment and nice Rnb music in the background. Even heard some of the staff singing. Loudly. Lol for lunch I got the recommended bowl of adobo. Which is pork and gravy? I honestly assumed it would be the traditional taste of Adobo which is like the soy sauce, vinegar and bay leaf. But to my surprise it was more like a loco moco vibe. Which threw me off. I mean it was good but not what I wanted? Anyhoo. Then for dessert I got the ube upside down cake which was so good! It wasn't too sweet and super creamy. But I'll be back to try other items.

Yelp
Been awhile since I've visited Oi Asian Fusion, but happy to see AND taste that they are still putting yummy grub. To be clear, I am not a fan of most "fusion" joints, but feel that this restaurant makes it work well. There are several good bowls served here, but here are my recommendations: - My hands down favorite from here is the Pork Belly and Umami Gravy bowl! If you try anything from here THIS is the dish. - My second favorite item from here is their Karaage. Surprisingly, this appetizer is on par with solid Japanese restaurants that list this on their menus. - Ube Upside Down Pie. My only complaint is that it's too dang small--like a tartlet. I could inhale 2 of these without batting an eye and still crave 2 more. Sorry. Not sorry. It's really that good! Items are made to order here so it can take time to process them. If timeliness is an issue, I highly recommend ordering via Grubhub. Honestly, most of my orders from here have been using the Yelp mobile app that's integrated with Grubhub and ordering for pickup, which has worked out great for me throughout the pandemic. That's it for this review. Peace. Love. And Ube Upside Down Pie!

Yelp
Delicious! The food tastes as good as it looks. So much flavor and well prepared food. I ordered this through Yelp and Grub hub so took into consideration the freshness after a little drive and some back seat action. LOL I ordered the 5 Piece Karaage Fried Chicken, Fried Chicken Adobo Bowl and Dynamite Crawfish Bowl. Read these details: The Karaage was fried perfectly with tender chicken hiding inside. I also ordered each of the 7? sauces. the wasabi and dynamite sauces were very good. Be aware the garlic sauce was VERY garlicy! The Fried Chicken Adobo Bowl was good but not great. The chicken was tasty and cooked perfectly but the sauce was more like a gravy than I expected. The Adobo taste was missing in this dish. I will try the Adobo bowl next time to compare the sauces. Overall still a good bowl! The Dynamite Crawfish Bowl was everything I could have dreamed for! The dynamite sauce went so well with those baby little lobsters. They were cooked perfectly, tender and fresh. Maybe too much rice but I solved that problem by not eating all the rice. LOL I will be back here for more! So sad, I took so long to get here.

Yelp
Had to meet my friend at a half way point between us for lunch so we came here! The inside had so many delicious photos of their bowls which helped me make up my mind. We ordered the topsilog, loco burger bowl and the ribeye brisket bowls. The topsilog thin sliced meat was delicious and cooked perfectly. The loco burger thick and cooked well but was a bit too sweet.. and not that enjoyable.. took one bite but nothing more. The ribeye brisket bowl was cubes meat placed on top of over cooked rice with overly sour ponzu type sauce that just over took the whole meal.. I only ate half the meat.. I was excited to try this place and I think we just ordered all the wrong things.. I never go with the popular dishes because if a place is good then all their dishes should be good right? When we walked in we had to wait for the server to come take our order. It smelled like cigarettes.. and not like someone just got off a smoke break and came inside.. but like they were smoking in the back like in the kitchen.. we were already there though so we ordered our food and decided to eat outside because the cigarette smell have my friend a head ache.. Anyways I will definitely be back to try new dishes because I still think this place is good.

Yelp
I tried Oi with some of my coworkers after one of them recommended it to us, and was pretty pleased! I know it's a weird thing to start off a review with, but the food smelled SO good which was immediately promising. Like, the smell is mouthwatering, to-die-for good. I ordered the mushroom and egg bowl with garlic sauce on the side. Overall, the flavor was good, especially in the King Oyster mushrooms. The eggs were perfectly cooked and jammy. The garlic sauce was very much toum, which I find to be delicious, but it had a spicy little kick to it. The one drawback for me was that there was too much sauce in the bowl that completely saturated my rice, making the flavor a too salty and overpowering. While it was a delicious sauce, I just wanted a less of it so I could enjoy the rice with some of the other flavors of the pepper and eggs. My coworkers enjoyed their food, and overall I was pleased with my meal here. With good prices and big portions, I'll definitely come back to try it again and am looking forward to trying something else on the menu next time!

Yelp
I ordered via Uber eats. The lumpia was still crispy and delish. The bisteak is actually tender. I would eat here again.

Yelp
Great food, nice ambiance, friendly employees. I ordered the Tapsilog with Garlic Rice. Decor is simple but brought back warm memories of the Philippines

Yelp
Nothing but wonderful things to say about this location! I went with my mom and two weeks later went back with my husband and his family and they were raving. Such an interesting menu with Asian fusion and tasty Filipino food. My husband and I are both vegetarian but often have a hard time eating out with his Filipino family due to the lack of variety. Oi Asian Fusion bridged the gap perfectly. The mushroom bowl was made perfectly and was a huge portion. Also loved the sweet potato fries and ube dessert. Recommend for people who love and even those who are totally new to Filipino food.

Yelp
Slightly went over our $50 date budget for two but worth the experience of a full meal, with appetizer and dessert. Our total bill was $53. We order the two most expensive items in their menu: ribeye bistik and dynamite crawfish. We also got their karage chicken for our appetizer and the upside down ube for dessert. Overall 4.5 rounding off to 5 star. Why? Something is missing but not a big deal because we'll most likely go back to this place to try their other dishes like the pork belly adobo, which got better feedback than their most expensive dish. The ribeye bistik is overkill. Premiumized version of Philippine Beef Steak and Tapsilog (fried beef with egg on a plate of rice). But it tasted great and we enjoyed the crunchy garlic that went with the rice. Using ribeye or sirloin or strip loin would not change the taste so I'd rather have more meat/protein with a less expensive cut for this dish. The Dynamite crawfish taste like a dynamite roll from a sushi restaurant but served in a bowl. We love dynamite sushi roll so we enjoyed eating this dish. It is the 4.5-5.0 range because we just felt that this dish is out of place and did not blend well with the rice topping Asian Filipino concept. Maybe we're wrong because the name of the place is "fusion." The upside down ube dessert is unique but a bit pricy. But we enjoyed having it.

Yelp
Was in the area after finally being able to locate the big Costco and then place came up as super close. They have a Filipino Asian fusion type of menu and was hard for me to decide. Asked them what would be the quickest to order and they said pork belly! So delicious and crispy just like how it comes in the Philippines without the gravy. The ube dessert was so impressive and finished off the meal nicely. For sure will be back and maybe go to their 2nd location which is closer.

Yelp
Nice place. I tried the bistek steak and karaage bowls. The steak was simple but well cooked. The beef flavor wasn't masked with too much seasoning, and that can be really nice. The rice was nicely cooked. The karaage was nicely fried and really juicy. The gravy was good too. Tasted like comfort food, but not too salty (which is what I feared when I saw the gravy). I'd recommend either dish if you like rice bowls. Service was simple; just order your food at the counter and they'll bring it out.

Yelp
Crawfish bowl was the best of the 3 I had (adobo, fried chicken adobo, dynamite crawfish)! It reminds me of a baked sushi roll turned into a bowl. The fried chicken was my least favorite. Chicken breading was more soggy than fried, flavors were just ok.

Yelp
Oi Asian is great addition for Korean food and glad I found it through Uber Eats. We ordered following through Uber Eats * Adobo Bowl * Karaage Rice Bowl * Karaage Fried Chicken Bun Adobo bowl, came with perfectly cooked braised pork belly and adobo sauce, but the sauce was too little and even after putting a note in order, we did not get extra sauce, it was too dry for our liking. It came with extra small soft boiled egg and two pieces of scallions. Also the Quantity was too less. Karaage Rice Bowl, was excellent choice, good quantity and enough sauce. The japanese fried chicken was perfectly coked with topped with umami gravy and crushed seaweed and topped with scallions, sesame seed, pickled red radish. I will re-order this. Karaage Fried Chicken Bun was good too, but eat at restaurant. Since it came through Uber eats, it was not fresh. The Bun was little soggy and chewy. Bu the Japanse fried chicken was good and loved the flavor of lemon mayo. It also sandwiched by cucumber, green leafy lettuce, scallions. Over all good experience, but it was too dry and less quantity

Yelp
Oi Asian Fusion is a Filipino fusion restaurant. The food is pretty clean and quick- lots of protein and rice. The pricing is generous for the amount of food you get and the waiters are considerate and patient. However, the food didn't surprise me by any means- it seemed like a better Panda Express except for the fact that it was Filipino fusion food. The food is still too Americanized. I got to eat the fried chicken adobo bowl here and it had a ton of chicken. A whole big slab of fried chicken thigh and egg was great for me considering I just got out of the gym. The quantity was good and the food was not too foreign. My friend got the pork belly bowl and sadly the quantity wasn't a lot. Overall, I wish this place offered more of a Filipino twist on food than anything else. The bowls my friend and I got wasn't as good as the Filipino fast food you could get in National City or Downtown. However, if you need a quick bite and a decent amount of protein, this place isn't too bad.

Yelp
3/5 overall experience My husband and I picked up dinner from Oi on a weeknight. The food was pretty good but nothing that "wow'ed" us. The staff was friendly when we picked up our order, which is appreciated. Of note, we saw the staff prepare some food in the back without gloves. We certainly hope their hands were washed. We ordered: Adobo bowl - Not bad. I felt it was a bit too salty. It had lots of fat pieces, but that's not necessarily unexpected since it is a pork dish. All in all, it was okay but I would have oreferred the meat to have been trimmed and not overseasoned. Tapsilog bowl - My husband enjoyed this. I found it had a pretty significant fish sauce flavor for my palate. Pork bun - This was the second favorite dish that we ordered. Karaage bun - Not terrible but just wasn't for us. The primary source of flavor was the mayo. The meat itself was underwhelming and had a dried-out texture. We wouldn't order it again. Jicama taco - a bit too spicy for me but it was my favorite item that we ordered. Overall, I had such high hopes for this restaurant and the food just fell a bit short. I'm not against coming back to this establishment but wouldn't go out of my way to return. I'd say this was a fairly neutral experience.

Yelp
The food was very tasty and delicious. We ordered chicken and pork based bowls, all of them were well cooked. Especially their sauces went well with the meat and rice. The order was done by kiosk, and it is not difficult to choose.

Yelp
Got the Adobe bowl. It comes with a rice base with pork belly that is smothered with a brown adobe sauce. Used the kiosk to place my order. It came out rather quickly. The bowl itself was very salty so I ended up drinking a lot of water. The pork belly was nice and tender but was a little overpowered by the saltiness.

Yelp
This is my go to lunch spot for work. I would come here every day if i could but my doctor would hate me. Lol All jokes aside, I'm pretty sure I've tried everything on the menu. You can't go wrong here. Filipino asian fusion food at its finest. My favorite is the Adobo bowl. Pro tip: upgrade to garlic rice I highly recommend checking it out! A++++ 10/10
