Colombian restaurants to try in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"A brightly colored neighborhood eatery serving all-day Colombian breakfasts such as eggs with arepas, as well as carne asada with rice and beans and liver sautéed with tomato, onions and fried green plantains. It’s known for a popular oxtail soup made with potatoes, plantains and yucca root, offers a range of dinner entrées, and on select nights transforms into a lively hub for dancing, karaoke and beer specials." - Krista Diamond

My wife loves Colombian food and we where on vacation and I always try to find her traditional food well I found this place the staff and food was amazing

Vio

Google
As first-time visitors, we thoroughly enjoyed the culinary offerings.

Google
We ordered the Bandeja Paisa! It’s sooooooooo good! The chicken and beef empanadas are so good with the chimichurri sauce. We also ordered the Arroz Con Pollo. We love this place. The parking has been a bit crazy due to H Mart opening up but we are always welcomed here. The owners sister is always so very sweet and welcoming. They make everything fresh. The portions are great also.

Google
I ate ajiaco and the flavor and consistency was not why O was expecting. I ate ajiaco many times in my life and this one was the worst. My children asked for carne asada and it was very thin you can see through. The sazon is not good. I paid 126 for nothing.

Google
It was a nice little spot to try out but personally, I think the establishment is a tad bit overpriced. I brought my family there as well and they also weren’t highly impressed with the food and service. They did have several options to choose from, but as expected, the more traditional plates were highly priced. I will say that the little market that has Colombian snacks and drinks was a great option for those that want to try out things from Colombia. Other than that, I may give it another try, but if not, it was a fairly good experience.

Google
My first time having Columbian food. Our server was very pleasant and eager to make this a good experience for me

Google
We are visiting from Utah, I went yesterday with my husband and the food was AMAZING, the stuff really friendly, if you wanna try the delicious Colombia food, you should go there! You gonna love it!

Google
Delisioso! Everyone Must HAVE 1 Bunuelo! You will be Hooked. The Best Cheese Bread I've ever had! All the items I had were just perfect! The owner is very hospitable, and inviting. All staff is Smiling, and Happy to see you. Great Service! If you dont order a Bunuelo, you are missing out! 🤗

Yelp
Wanted to try something new and found this gem. Service was exceptional and you could tell that they love the food. This is my first time trying Colombian food and I wasn't disappointed. Lots of options and they serve breakfast all day .
google avatar

Yelp
Purchased 2 empanadas to go, with shredded meat & potatoes, accompanied by a sauce. They were a nice snack to fill that empty spot, right before dinner time.

Yelp

google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend going to this restaurant for the delicious empanada's, arepas, and when you're craving Colombian food. On Sundays there's a live female singer and option for Karaoke.
google avatar

Sakol M.

Yelp
This hidden place is a restaurant and mini market. I came here thinking they serve pupusas. Instead, they serve arepas. The waiter suggested I try the arepa queso. So I ordered one. She was nice and served complimentary beef empanadas since they didn't have any vegan empanadas. I like the empanadas so I ordered two more. When the arepa arrived, it looked like a corn pancake with a dollop of butter on top. It tasted ok. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Yelp
The OG Colombian restaurant in Las Vegas. There were many others along with it at one point but it's one of the only three left in the city. The service here is always nice and Olmedo is a legend in the city in the Colombian community. He's usually always there when I go. I used to go here with my family since I was about 9 years old. I am now 24 and I still love going here. The many times I've had the Bandeja paisa I can say it's truly authentic. The picada was the last thing I had the last time I went with a buddy of mine. This picada is an array of meats. You got Pork, Beef, pork belly, sausage, blood sausage, Fried Cassava, potatoes, and Arepas. Along with diced tomatoes and limes. Also you can't leave without trying the Refajo which is a Colombian mix between. Our most famous soda "Colombiana" and Colombian beef "Aguila" or "Poker". If you get the picada make sure it's a group of 3-4 because me and my buddy took home two full boxes with leftovers. A lot of food. Food - 9 / 10 Setting - 9 / 10 Service - 9 / 10 Total - 9.5 / 10

Yelp
Horrible food, the tamal is dry, the kabobs are dry and tasteless, the plate of tongue ohhh please they serve you pieces of the tongue instead of the whole thing like in Colombia, the empanadas were only fill with potatoes, no meat at all!! And the owners sister... oh God that lady is annoying, she thinks she is nice or has customer service, but talks to much and is loud
google avatar

Javier M.

Yelp
This was really the low bar of our days in LV. The empanadas were too hard, as if they weren't fresh and they were attempting to revive by reheating. The chorizo also seemed a little tainted. The Sancocho was fine as was the service. This place is in a strip center and I have had much better in SoCal. We will not return.

Yelp
Corona and empanadas!! The bandejo paisa and empanadas are the very best and I've been to Colombia lol. Very authentic tasty food!

Miranda T.

Yelp
Being Colombian myself, I was excited to finally try a Colombian restaurant in Las Vegas. Right off the bat, the service was amazing! The woman who helped us was super hospitable and very knowledgeable about the menu. She took the time to walk us through everything since it was my husband's first time trying Colombian food. We ordered our meals to go and ordered two beef empanadas while we waited. Unfortunately, they were room temperature--not fresh and hot as advertised, but they were still tasty. My husband got the Bandeja Paisa and I ordered the Ajiaco soup. Sadly, we were disappointed when we got home. The Bandeja Paisa came with the smallest, thinnest piece of steak I've ever seen. It was dry, tough, and lacked flavor. The chicharrón was also small, dry, and tough--definitely not what we hoped for. On the bright side, the Ajiaco soup was delicious. It came in a generous portion with white rice, capers, and sour cream on the side--just like it should. Overall, the friendly service and tasty soup saved the experience, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. They also have a little store with imported Colombian candy, desserts, and coffee. We'll definitely be back to check that out!

Yelp
I think the menu looks good but the actual food was soggy looking. They greet each table but ignored others, including a young worker wearing yoga pants going up her crack. I recommend a dress code and a more professional approach.
google avatar

Tania A.

Yelp
My parents really enjoy coming here especially for the night time rumba. They turn the place into a dance floor on the weekends. It's really fun We had the picada and it was enough for 3 people. We also had 10 empanadas between 4 of us that helped fill us up. The ahí was delicious and the service was really kind. The owners are super nice and friendly.

Yelp
My family has traveled to Colombia on various occasions and can attest that the food is as authentic as you can get in the US. THE GOOD: Estela was fantastic. Her service and commentary added to our experience. She is lively! I wish I could have let her boss know directly. I would recommend the bandeja paisa, the pandebono (cassava cheese bread), the arepa de choclo (a thick, somewhat sweet corn patty / torillla topped with cheese) and the chicharron appetizers (a chicharron comes with the bandeja paisa, but if you want another separately order this). WHERE TO IMPROVE: A critique I'd give is for the milk shake of tomate de árbol - it could have used more flavor. It was bland. As for the ambiance, the music was good. We were seated under the TV so it was a bit loud.

Yelp
First, this isn't Mexican or Mexican American or TexMex or CalMex or AZMex or SouthwesternMex food. It's Colombian food. Colombian food is about blending good ingredients for flavor is subtle ways. It's not about loud and spicy. If that's what you are looking for, go to a Mexican food restaurant. Service here is friendly and at the pace you would see in Colombia. In other words, it's laid back and friendly and not the frantic "have to have it this second" service many Americans might expect. Chill out and enjoy. The food is decent. It's not great, but it's good. They are trying to cover a large swatch of Colombian food, and they do an admirable job. Have I had better? Certainly. But Colombian food can be hard to find in the US, so even an average kind of place gets my vote. I'd stop by again if in the area.

Christopher W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and super friendly service. Authentic Colombian comfort food. Not fancy, just good home cooked style food off the strip

Yelp
If there was a 0 star review, I'd give it to this horrible place.... Bad food, terrible service, almost 49 min wait for a simple plate
google avatar

Yelp
My son and I came here for dinner tonight. Great food and friendly service! Will come again.

Yelp
Four years ago, I gave this place a 5-star wonderful review -- everything was perfect. We enjoyed lunch there many times after. However, a week ago this past Sunday was the worst dining experience I've ever had ANYWHERE. The service was terrible (only 1 waitress doing her best), the food was overcooked and hard -- cold when we got it. The platter we shared with friends was just pig fat cooked so hard we were concerned about breaking our teeth and a bunch of overcooked potatoes and plantains -- not at all what the description on the menu said it was going to be. I highly doubt I will ever go back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Amazing food! We stumbled across this by accident and couldn't believe how tasty it was and what a great deal for lunch! We will be back for sure. Very nice people and cozy environment. Feels like someone's grandma is in the kitchen. Great flavors.

Yelp
Although most Las Vegas residents' idea of Latin or South American fare begins and ends with the nearest Taco shop, a closer look at the local scene shows evidence of everything from Peruvian to Brazil and Argentina while Oiga,Mire,Vea has represented Colombia since the turn of the century. Located at 2580 South Decatur Boulevard since 2000, not far from West Sahara but somewhat hidden inside the South Sahara Pavilion, Oiga,Mire,Vea bills itself as the "first authentic Colombian restaurant to establish in Las Vegas," and from the moment one enters it's mini-mart foyer hospitality is at the forefront. Family owned and operated, with COVID-19 precautions finding all staff masked with sanitizer at-the-ready, it was via pre-order that two large bags were found sealed and ready to go, a quick perusal of the landscape finding not only an on-site bakery and packaged goods, but sizable dining room more than adequate for social distancing. Not an especially pretty spot, though a mural in the main room suggests lush landscapes and gorgeous architecture back home, it was less than ten minutes later that eight items were unpacked for sharing, first bites of a Papa Rellena seeing skin break crisp to fluffy Rice, Potatoes and mixed Meat within. Offering several housemade Condiments with the fare, vibrant green Chimichurri slanted more towards Garlic than heat a fine addition to warm Arepas or various Proteins, Pastel de Yucca from the bakery offer tremendous value on the dollar at nearly 8oz for $3.49 while those looking to eschew Rice should seek out Empandas that are remarkably rich but oilless for just $1.49 each. Onward to Entrees, several Social Media sources suggesting high prices in comparison to what is served, suffice it to say 4oz of overcooked Beef smothered in Sauce alongside three types of Carbs did not justify $13.99, though Colombia's traditional Bandeja Paisa with Steak, Pork Rinds, Chorizo, Sausage and sides was a delicious deal for just three dollars more. A bit underwhelmed by Arroz con Pollo, the dearth of Poultry and previously frozen Vegetables doing little for otherwise enjoyable Rice, guests expecting a Mexican rendition of "Buñuelo" will possibly be disappointed by Oiga,Mire,Vea's more savory version featuring Cornmeal plus Cheese and a texture not unlike Brazilian Pão de Queijo. THREE AND A HALF STARS: With Colombian Cuisine still a rarity in Sin City Oiga,Mire,Vea takes its culture serious, and although some dishes were better than others the overall experience is enjoyable while staff's commitment to safety as well as customer service is commendable.

Yelp
Their empanadas are BOMB!! Third time ordering them and they're good! They have beef, chicken, and vegetarian. The rest of the menu looks amazing, But i have not been able to order anything else. The staff is very friendly... greet me as soon as I walk in each time and by observation they are just nice to all customers. Live this place.

Yelp
It was a good place to eat Colombian food, the prices was fair and the service was good too Just be careful with the location area, is not good

Taylor M.

Yelp
Best Colombian food around! And the service is great too, very family oriented and comfortable (:
google avatar

Andrea Z.

Yelp
This place has great Colombian food. I went for the empanadas and I was pleasantly surprised. They also have some knickknacks and jewelry. On Saturday they offer music to her dancing.
google avatar

Mateo G.

Yelp
Terrible service, they always charge us more than what it really is. They gave us the burned buñuelos, and the almojabanas were expired because they gave us all stomach aches, a terrible experience.
google avatar

Eve V.

Yelp
They're friendly but their food was flavorless. The only good thing I had were las empanadas.
google avatar

Lolita J.

Yelp
Wanted to try something new and decided to go here for lunch. I had 1 of each empanada (texture wise they were perfect but felt like they were missing something, couldn't figure it out), 1 bunuelo ( it's a cheese bread ball. Wasn't anything spectacular but I'd probably order a few more), and an Arepas con pollo( I loved the presentation. It was colorful and looked flavorful, but the taste wasn't there AT ALL). Don't get me wrong the people were nice and welcoming but the food had me emotionally upset. I'm a huge foodie and I couldn't finish the food cause it just didn't taste good and made me depressed. Probably won't be coming back.

Yelp

Yelp
We stumbled upon Oiga while dropping our boys off to the trampoline park. We saw Colombian and thought we should try something different. When you walk in it kind of looks like a small market and eatery but once you walk to the side it's an entire restaurant. The music was pumping and I immediately thought I was back in the tropical islands. My husband said I didn't stop dancing the entire time we ate. This place made me happy! Our waitress was super nice and got to our order quickly. I ordered the fruit salad and hubby ordered beefsteak. (Pictures added) OMG this fruit salad was amazing sooo fresh and oh so good. It was topped with cheese which I had never had and a sweet sauce. That just made it even better. I ended up digging into my husbands dinner and ate his sweet plantains and rice. So juicy and delicious. We spoke to staff and they said at 11:30 pm on Saturdays they have dancing. I am sure that place gets jumping! They said make sure you make reservations because it gets packed. It is for 21 and up! I think I've found my new columbian restaurant & dance spot!
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
I am Colombian born, go back frequently, and grew up in S FL so I know what our food tastes like. I realize everyone's recipe may vary but the coffee was mediocre, the empanadas were flavorless and not crispy, and the aji was green??? I was afraid to try anything else. I have not been back and don't plan to. I just make sure I get my fill when I go back to Florida and Medellín.
google avatar

Lynn U.

Yelp
Recommended to me by a friend. Ordered empanadas for our family Christmas dinner. Everyone loved them! Beef, chicken and veggie empanada are large made with a masa shell. Delicious. The green sauce has a kick that enhances the empanadas. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful and very hospitable. Will go back to try other things I have never had before.
google avatar

Diana Carolina B.

Yelp
The music for dancing after hours was great and the empanadas with aguardiente, hit the spot
google avatar

Jeff Y.

Yelp
One of the few Colombian restaurants in town, and the food is decent. Service is a bit slow (it took a while for our food to come, and for waters to be refilled/them to bring the check after having asked for the bill twice), but friendly. The interior is simple with a decent number of tables. I ordered two soups, both of which were tasty. My dining companion ordered the bandeja paisa, which was great (though notably lacking avocado). Prices were reasonable, and there is quite an expansive menu. My meal here definitely reminded me of my travels in Colombia.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
I ate here tonight with my family. Honestly the food was horrible. I ordered the rice and chicken with empanadas. They brought out this old yellow rice with dried up chicken. Looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The waitress didnt seem to happy from the beginning and when i told her about my food. She didnt apologize or offer anything else. She just grab the plate and took it. Then it took her about 45 minutes to bring us 1 potato empanada. Its definitely the last time here.

Yelp
Every now and then but frequently, my taste craves for a different flavor. Columbian cuisine is one I hadn't visited in my touristy state of adventure. After coming here, I'd learn something about myself I didn't expect. Sorting my bookmarks to 'distance from me' Oiga, Mire, Vea resulted. They were open, I was hungry, they were close by. Pulling and pushing on the entrance door, it was locked - a little dark. Hours indicate they're open. So I peek into the window, seeing people inside, I pulled and pushed the door again until someone heard and saw... Right? That's the stubborn bag lady in me ppptthh. An almost four star 3.75***\ I'm seated by a young girl, given a menu. She acknowledges me for it being my first time there. Then offers a beef empanada to start. I browse the menu and notice it's empty in the restaurant except a couple watching sports. Beef empanada is presented to me with a green onion sauce. I order arroz con pollo and a sprite. While waiting on my dinner I take the first bite of the beef empanada. Holy cow! Take another bite with the sauce... That's some tasty delicious combo cow! At this point the wheels in my mind are spinning and thinking why I don't have this kind of reaction to Filipino empanadas. Cuz THIS beef empanada tells me why. The beef empanadas are filled with meat, lightly wrapped, and has a perfect texture to the dough. It's not overly doughy nor oily. With the sauce is how they always serve it. Eating their beef empanadas came with a lesson. One of the owner's daughters told me about AJI. She told me the ingredients. It's one of those sauces I smother onto everything. The sauce recipe is Googlable. My dinner plate came out after about 15 minutes. The yellow rice was really good. Here is another culture that serves plantains with a meal. Very nice flavor. It looked as good as it all was consumed. They're a homely people. Extremely pleasant to speak with. They introduced me to Bunuelos and Columbian soft drinks. I enjoyed this cuisine a lot. I must return to order more beef empanadas with aji. That will be the number one for me at this place. I recommend to try them. Especially for their lunch specials only $7.99 - their busiest time of the day. I'd totally go for it if they were only a couple blocks a way. However, the beef empanada won my attention with this dining experience.

Ana D.

Yelp
The food was cold and my order was bland. I was missing $20 with of food when it arrived. Could just be the drivers own doing, but it doesn't help with the experience. The order was also wrong, they only got one item right. I'll be getting my refund, at least. I don't see myself ordering from here ever again.

Yelp
Good service. Large selection. Guava juice was very good. Chicken or beef empanadas are awesome.

Kristine I.

Yelp
Definitely a must try, the service was amazing super attentive, food was tasty, the ambiance was just as if you were around family it's a small spot that just makes you feel welcomed

Yelp
Absolutely delicious spot! Everything we had was delicious and taste so authentic! The buñuelos are sooooo good!! Wish it was close to home back in SC!

Yelp
Hearty is one word to describe the smorgasbord of grindage we had. Not only was the food very tasty, The owners and service staff were so nice and happy to see that non-Columbians were enjoying their cuisine. We were served family style and we enjoyed the following: Empanadas with Chimichurri-Crisp, Flavorful, and a great start to our Columbian feast. Chicken Skewers with Rice, Beans and Sweet Plantains-Love the combination of sweet and salty, so the beans and plantains complimented the juicy chicken and addicting arroz! The Picada is seriously a Carniwhore's heaven! a plate filled with veggies, Tostones(fried green plantains) Beef, Chicharrones, an interesting vinegary tasting Columbian style sausage, and a blood sausage which had a similar taste to Filipino Dinuguan with rice and stuffed in a sausage casing. I personally prefer the Colombian Style Arepa to the more familiar Venezuelan arepa that Viva Las Arepas serves. OMV serves it in a griddled corn cake(your choice of yellow or white corn topped with a generous piece of queso fresco. this again is a nice combo of salty and sweet. YUM! After a some Pastel de Guayaba, we enjoyed Tres Leches and enjoyed the club like atmosphere at the same time as our dinner which made it kinda difficult to communicate with others in our party, but nonetheless fun and festive. Salsa dancing and the Karaoke stylings of Henry Churches with his rendition of "Bailamos" and "Hero" had the crowd hootin' and hollerin'!(If you're still having a brain fart on who Henry Churches is...en espanol= Enrique Iglesias). Big mahalo to Christie, and we'll most definitely be back...ALOHA!!!

Candace G.

Yelp
I came in solo for some lunch and I am so happy I did . This place is delicious , I'm literally writing this as I'm sitting here. Reminds me of the authentic Columbian food I tried in London ....I will definitely be back and with friends next time .

Yelp
I was blan and for somenpeople that is good. I like a little flavor. My breakfast meal was great. i cleaned the plate. LOL for a friend.

Yelp
My family enjoys this place. We're Ecuadorian and Colombian food is the closest thing we have here in Vegas haha. We love the Sancocho, Ajiaco, and the vegetable empanadas. We haven't tried much else since my kids have certain food allergies. The empanadas with chicken had a strange taste and the restaurant is a bit pricey compared to South American food in LA so I have given it 4 stars. The Sancocho portion is also smaller than what we are used to and it's about $3 more expensive. But other than that it's great
google avatar

Lynn E.

Yelp
Authentic good warm scrumptious would visit again and again and again! I ordered the beef lengua and although I was leery of the yucca root I was assured it was yummy! Everything came out timely in my lunch break and the service gal was friendly. Feels like a piece of Columbia in the heart of vegas (:

Kimky E.

Yelp
This does not look like "FLANK STEAK". I love this place but you cannot tell someone this is steak when ITS NOT. When I asked the lady what is was she tells me flank steak like I don't know what I ordered or what steak is.
google avatar

Joseph G.

Yelp
Worst dining experience ever. Don't even know where to begin. From the horrible service, everyone getting their food at different times and then even having to bring in my own water since they were taking so long. So surprising that all the food had little to no flavor at all. The only good thing I can say is just order the empanadas. Everything else was under or completely over cooked it was sad. And to top it all off we ended up getting over charged on everything! Never written a review before but I had to start somewhere. I should have just hit up a Taco Bell. Was so excited to eat here and was a complete let down.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
The Colombian food was delicious. My husband and I shared the bandeja paisa. For appetizers we had two empanadas, two arepas with cheese. We both enjoyed it. As for beverages, I ordered Pony Malta. The restaurant reminded me of the restaurant, rinconcito Colombiano located on Almaden Expressway in San Jose, CA. I recommend this restaurant. Excellent customer service.
