"Nestled among 220 acres of blooming lemon trees and centuries-old oaks in the mountain-encircled Ojai Valley, the Mediterranean-inspired resort offers more than 300 rooms with stucco fireplaces, handcrafted Spanish tiles and panoramic mountain-view patios, while regulars gather in the Wallace Neff Heritage Bar for a taste of Old World California over contemporary cocktails." - Kristin Braswell
"A major regional food festival returns to the luxe resort in Ojai from Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16. Most of the festival’s main packages have been sold out for some time, though tickets remain for grand tastings on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon. Thursday night’s grand tasting (runs $495 plus $111 in fees) features Jeremiah Tower, Claudette Zepeda (who recently opened a big new restaurant in Leucadia/Encinitas just north of San Diego), Nancy Silverton, Deau Arpapornnopparat (Holy Basil), Mary Sue Milliken, Susan Feniger, Jonathan Waxman, and Andrew Zimmern; the Sunday afternoon grand tasting costs the same and showcases Christopher Kostow (Meadowood/Charter Oak), Jon Yao (Kato), Justin Pitchetrungsi (Anajak), Katianna and John Hong (Yangban), and Marcus Jernmark (of the forthcoming Lielle in the former Bicyclette space). The overall lineup includes Nyesha Arrington, Grant Achatz, Mei Lin, Evan Funke, Eunji Lee (NYC’s Lysée Bakery), Alice Waters, and William Bradley (Addison). A chef attending this year’s event described this and similar events like Pebble Beach Food & Wine as “summer camp for chefs,” which explains the relatively high attendance rate of big names." - Matthew Kang
"This inn is another serene stay for those looking for a slow and easy Christmas—there's no need to stress over salt-caked cars or sardine-packed streets here. Time seems to slow down as you pull up to this sprawling Spanish revival hotel. Birds chirp from atop the towering oak trees, and the peacefully running fountains set the tone for a zen-like serenity that'll carry through your weekend. The Fireplace Shangri-la room is your own personal retreat, complete with an oversized soaking tub and separate shower. Hand-painted Spanish tile, gold-auburn granite, and cobalt blue accents give this room a modern Mediterranean look. But the real highlight is the stucco fireplace with seating—a perfect spot to tuck into a book and indulge in the rejuvenating spirit of Ojai. If that's not enough for you, the pools here are worth the visit alone—attentive staff, killer views, and plenty of space to hop around to keep the scenery fresh."

"Ojai Valley Inn offers a variety of activities for young guests and is a great spot for family bonding." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Since 1923, weary Californians have retreated to Ojai Valley Inn for its laid-back vibes and majestic natural beauty. But in recent years, the storied property has established itself as a culinary destination thanks to the work of Chef Andrew Foskey. At the signature restaurant Olivella, Foskey sends out elevated Italian classics with fresh California twists—all best paired with California wines, naturally." - Katie Chang
