Oki Shōten (Oki Bowl)

Incredible food, service, and atmosphere at oki bowl in Georgetown. There is very delicious and customizable ramen. The miso ramen was rich, and slightly sweet, when paired with the beef. Highly recommend with a side of chili oil!! The Tom Yum ramen was very spicy - with enormous shrimp - very yummy. This is a classic spot for ramen.

First time visiting this restaurant. Love the neon lighting and the 90s anime decorations. The food was great, especially recommend the Oki curry ramen and the Tom Yum ramen. There are some vegetarian options. Staff is attentive and quick with their service. We’ll definitely visit again next time.

We got the mushroom rice bowl and the Oki curry bowl. It was delicious. The servers were very nice. They have lots of anime decorations on the walls that are pretty cool. I definitely want to go again. What a lovely time!

came in with an intense hangover and their ramen brought me to life. also ordered crispy octopus tentacles yummmssss. and finished my meal with Orion beer (Japanese beer) 🍺 Love the atmosphere too, very nostalgic esp the 90s anime’s wall decor/mural.

I was only a little hungry so I ordered 2 pork bao buns and they were really good! Definitely recommend. The servers were very attentive since I arrived. Cool vibe! Will be returning soon!

We ordered the unagi bowl and the spider tom yum. We hope the unagi bowl could come with a bit more side dishes. Overall, the food was decent, but not quite impressive enough to make us want to come back. The interior decor is very cute.

About time to have a good, classic, rich Ramen. The miso broth I tried is thick, chewy noodles, and a good selection of add-ons. They also have Boba on the menu among other items. Cozy place to be, especially for me as someone who loves and respects classic Japanese cuisine, and anime! Did't find Captain Harlock on the wall though :) Also I think the entrance could be more visible, or some more pronounced sign - I missed the alley turn

Do you know how dang good a ramen spot has to be to frequent it twice in a week! This curry ramen has won my heart over. The broth is curated to perfection, piping hot, creaming, layered spices dance on your tongue. The crispy chicken somehow stays crisp throughout the dining experience. All the other goodies on top add both texture and flavor for a bite that has you going back for more each time. Both times I ordered my bowl was licked clean! It is a bit pricy (around the 20ish range) however in my opinion the portions make it worth. The inside of the restaurant only adds to the experience as you are surrounded by quirky pops of color and art!

What a great spot! They have done a great job with the old Jack Taco space and adjoining shop area. I got the chicken yakitori which was the perfect size and was delicious. They seaweed salad is really good. They were super nice about accommodating a gluten free allergy for one of our party--which is hard at a Japanese restaurant! A+

Expansive menu, huge portions, great service, and most importantly DELICIOUS RAMEN! Cant go wrong here, will definitely be back!

Unique atmosphere and Ramen was delicious. It's not a typical ramen bowl. Strawberry lemonade was a bit tart, but still good. $35 after tip for one person.

3.5 stars! 3.5 for food, 5 for great and quick service! Came to OKI on a Saturday after a day shopping in GT. Came in around 6pm and was surprised to find a totally empty shop. Service was super super quick and friendly. Portions were large and the ramen was tasty! My only note was that all of the broths were a little too sweet and everything on the menu has a fried component which doesn't work well in ramen as you end up with a lot of soggy fried bits. I really enjoyed what I had but can't say it was my favorite ramen in DC. The environment is really fun with bright colors and a comic book/anime theme. I believe they've changed their decor as before it was a very colorful bohemian vibe which I honestly liked a little better but this new vibe has a classic casual ramen shop feel. Wouldn't mind returning but wouldn't go out of the way either. Nice for a quick bite if you're in the area!

OKI Bowl is an adorable spot in Georgetown that is always a solid option for your ramen cravings! I have been here twice and have always gotten the Oki Curry Ramen - a delicious curry ramen with crispy fried chicken, onions, and noodles. So flavorful and comforting! Not too spicy and uses quality ingredients. The ambiance is very colorful and clean. Each member of the staff helps you feel right at home and is very accommodating. Note you pay via Toast that cannot be split between different people. Here is where Venmo comes in handy! Will always love OKI Bowl!

Three stars for great service. Wanted to love it. Cute place, the menu looked so yummy! But no. The ramen lacked flavor! I ordered the spicy Tom Yum shrimp ramen bowl and my daughter ordered the miso bowl. We needed seasoning! We asked for soy sauce and they seemed puzzled. It was brought over and then several minutes later they asked if we were done using it and took it back. Like what? Y'all only got one bottle for everyone? The broth was bland which caused my spicy broth to really stand out more in heat. My daughter always likes miso broth because it's always a bit thicker than regular broths. It was not flavorful. The egg was delicious and the tempura shrimp were good. For $50 it was a no. Wouldn't recommend the two bowls we got. Maybe something else is better?

Very nice staff, cute decor inside but the food we got was so-so. Mine was hot fried chicken over rice. 80% rice and the chicken tasted like it came from Giant or Safeway frozen food section. My wife got something else that was also average at best. Hope they improve but not for us.

This place is pretty good. I think its biggest strength is its atmosphere. The place is small, but decorated beautifully and great for a unique lunch. The ramen is pretty good and decent portions. The tea is delicious and they have a good amount of choices. My only thing is the pricing is a little much. Instead of a waiter taking your order, you just order via a QR code that leads to their website. It's nice because you get your order in sooner and it prevents any problems with splitting the bill. But the problem is they add a 22% gratuity fee, which I think is unnecessary given that the service wasn't really anything special. I liked this place and honestly I probably would go back for a scenic lunch with good ramen, but definitely not too often because of those prices.

I took a day trip to Georgetown on my day off and decided to come here for lunch back in November. I had found out about this place through reels I saw on Instagram and it looked cool so I wanted to check it out for myself. I remember loving everything I got but they are currently closed because they are moving to a new location. I'm planning to go back and when they open I will erase this and give you a more accurate and updated review of the food and my entire experience!

The service was good they came to use very quickly and were really nice. They say us almost immediately. The place is really cute inside, it def gave me nostalgia with all the old pictures on the walls. The ramen was alright. I feel like there was something missing, it still tasted fine though. I didn't get sick from the ramen, but my boyfriend did. He had to throw up almost basically the rest of the day after eating this. I honestly think he has a weak stomach but idk his stomach was really messed up afterwards.

Food was good at the old location and foods good at this one. My fav Ramen destination and easy to get to. Have only gotten take out so can't comment on the inside but it looks cozy enough. I like it!!

The service here was so good. Really attentive and caring servers and management even before I brought up my food allergies. They worked so hard to find me tasty food that I could eat. I ended up with the beef rice bowl with yu choy and miso, and I loved it. I am adding this as one of my cold day standards.

Our server was great and super sweet! The food came out so fast (with no mistakes mind you), I was shocked. Love to see it! Would definitely recommend it!

19 July 2025 Very disappointing, on many fronts. We were there today and though many beers were listed on the menu, they seemed to be out of most. The menu (accessed through a QR code) should be updated to reflect what is actually in stock. The waitress did not seem to clearly understand my dining companion's order. He wanted no beer and she brought beer. More important, his dish - Oki Curry Ramen - contained undercooked fried chicken, which rendered the meal hazardous to consume. My bowl of Miso Ramen was meh at best. The broth was thin and completing lacking in depth of flavor. The pork was fatty and insipid. The lunch bill, inclusive of tip, for three ramen bowls, an unwanted beer, one can of Coke, and edamame was over $100.00. I do not blame them for the prices per se, but for the substandard culinary experience at that (lunch) price point and the danger of serving undercooked chicken. We won't go back.

Oki Ramen is nice. Their curry ramen is something they are know for. It's very good. You will not leave hungry, it's massive in size. I have never had curry ramen before. It's intriguingly delicious. The place is funky with old school pics on the walls. The service was great. Our server was quite funny and quick to start up a conversation. We had a great time !

Cozy hole in the wall with ramen bursting with flavor, hearty meaty and vegetarian options! The ambiance is kitschy and unique and best for solo diners and couples or 2 friends. The vegetarian Galanga Ramen is among the best I've had! It came with kale tempura, mushrooms, and I added a hard-boiled egg, bamboo shoots, roasted corn, and fried tofu. While all the toppings were good and helped to elevate the flavor, the coconut sweet broth with a mild spicy kick was truly the highlight of the dish. The ramen noodles were nice and chewy. Great portion size too! Hubby enjoyed the Yakisoba with fried chicken, his only complaint was that there wasn't enough broth. My ramen bowl had signficantly more broth than his. The bubbly Lychee Sake is refreshing and sweet. Hubby liked it so much that he got his own glass! I'm so glad I came here on my birthday with hubby (no kiddos!) It perfectly met my criteria - a delicious warm meal that I can't easily prepare at home and a cozy spot where I can't fit a stroller inside the restaurant. Total capacity is 15-20 people. There's only 1 booth/table seating for 4-5 people and overall not family-friendly for small tots (forget kids menus or high chairs!). Very student friendly though! The staff is nice and takes pride in their food! Among my favorite ramen spots in the city. Skip the restaurants on the main drag on M street and head up to Wisconsin Ave, it's worth the trek up the hill! Looking forward to coming back again!

I went to Oki Bowl in Georgetown tonight for a solo dinner, and honestly, it was a letdown. The restaurant has a minimal staff presence--just one person in the dining room with a QR code to order. I get that this setup works in some places, but when your self-checkout defaults to a 22% tip, it feels off. For what, exactly? I was really looking forward to a classic Tonkotsu Ramen, but they didn't have it, so I went with the Spider Tom Yum Ramen (which comes with a "soft shell" crab) and added extra noodles. I also ordered a Thai tea with boba, because why not? The tea came first, and it was fine, but half the glass was filled with ice, leaving little room for the tea itself. It made it nearly impossible to enjoy the boba once the tea was gone--I felt like I was fishing around for boba trapped at the bottom of the glass. Then the soup arrived, and... the smell hit me hard. Imagine stinky feet, but somehow worse. I like Tom Yum and have no problem with pungent flavors, but this was something else. It was rough. I was too hungry to send it back, and after spending $33, I powered through. The hard-boiled egg was cold, the noodles were decent, and the spice level was good, but that smell never went away. Then there was the soft shell crab. It wasn't soft at all. Tempura-battered, sure, but biting into it felt like a battle. I spent more time trying to chew through the shell than enjoying it, which left me wondering if I'd regret it later. In short, I spent $33 on a meal that smelled like feet and came with a cold egg and hard-to-chew crab. Save your money and skip this one. The only bright spot? There's a Van Leeuwen ice cream shop around the corner to ease the disappointment.

Great. They sat us down immediately and the servers were really nice and quick to take our orders but not in a "hurry up" kind of way. The food was delicious and I loved the decorations inside. Sort of tucked away from the street so it was nice and quiet.

This place had a really cute atmosphere! The decor and vibe was so adorable. The service was nice, welcoming, and attentive, and the ramen was so delicious (try the curry broth)!! But tbh the main reason I left this review was because THE FRIED KALE WAS SO GOOD OMG. If you go here you HAVE TO get it. I'm not even like a huge kale enthusiast and this was one of the best vegetable dishes i have ever eaten. The soy drizzle on it is absolutely amazing. So basically i 10/10 recommend this place, 100000/10 recommend the kale!!

We had the curry and miso ramen- both were delicious! Broths were flavorful. Fried chicken was crispy and tender. The restaurant is super cute and pretty casual. Service was quick. Would go back!

Came here on a weekday night with a friend at 5pm and it was empty, but it got a lot busier when the night went on. The interior decor is nice and very vibrant. You order through a QR code and pay online. I ordered the OKI Curry Ramen and Echigo Flying IPA. The broth was quite flavorful and the noodles were cooked well. The noodles themselves were decent, not the best. The chicken was good and lightly breaded, it does get soggy from the broth which is expected. A bit pricey but you are in Georgetown. The IPA was good, and it was my first time trying/seeing it. Service was fast and efficient. Not the best ramen I've ever had, but a good spot if you're in the area and craving ramen. I would rate it a 3.75/5, rounding it up to a 4/5.

Oki Bowl had such a fun interior! I was expecting a very hole in the wall place but was pleasantly surprised with the vibrant decor. I've had OKI bowl saved for a while and am so glad I came! For a monday evening, the restaurant was fairly busy, but our table was well taken care of and food + drinks came out quickly. For drinks, I ordered the iced green latte - perfectly sweet & great for the humid weather! For food, I ordered the miso ramen with fried chicken - it was delicious and filling! I do wish they had some chili oil and side of something spicy I could add to it for a bit more flavor, however overall it was great! My friends ordered the tom yum ramen and they said that one was spicier and really good! Overall, had a great time & enjoyed the ramen - definitely planning to come back as this is my favorite ramen place I've had thus far in the DC area :)

BEST ramen hands down. Ordered the curry ramen which I have been dreaming about since I went. My friend ordered the ramen with shrimp and loved it as well. I had the potstickers as the appetizer and those weren't good but the ramen made up for it. I'll definitely be back soon.

Oki bowl is such a vibe inside! The decor is very eclectic and makes you feel like you're super trendy for eating dinner in such a cool place. Although ramen is generally not my favorite food, I'm giving them 4 stars because the ramen broth was flavorful and not too salty. They also load your bowl up with a bunch of noodles, so I felt like I was getting my money's worth. I enjoyed my Tom yum ramen with spider crab and my boyfriend enjoyed his miso ramen. In the restaurant, I preferred the miso ramen because the Tom yum ramen was a bit spicy for me. Be warned, because I normally love spicy food! However, I took my leftovers home and added a little extra water to the broth so it was the perfect spice level! We also enjoyed the tofu tempura. The sauce had a slight kick to it, which paired perfectly with the tofu. I also liked the fish flakes on top. Added a nice flavor to what could have been a boring tofu dish!

Update: I have since learned that the kimchi ramen is, in fact, not vegetarian, since the broth is made with chicken broth. This was a pretty disappointing realization considering how much I loved that ramen, but the galanga ramen is also delicious (and is actually vegetarian)!! The delightfully fragrant broth is made with coconut milk and galangal and topped with assorted mushrooms and tempura kale -- you can also request "soft kale" (just boiled, unbattered kale) if you would prefer. All in all, Oki Bowl is a wonderful spot for unique and delicious takes on ramen, beautiful and Instagrammable decor, and what feels like a genuine illusion or hallucination when you stop by the restroom to wash your hands. Prices have risen over the last few years, so Oki Bowl isn't nearly as affordable as it was a few years ago, but they're still fairly reasonable for the ramen dishes. The appetizer prices are a bit outrageous, though -- just four pieces of shumai or karaage will cost you upwards of $12, and the tiniest bowl of seaweed salad or plain edamame will run $10. If you make your way to Oki Bowl, definitely go for one of the ramen or rice dishes and stay clear of the appetizers -- the portion sizes are also massive, so you probably won't even need the apps.

Ramen love with you too. Its easy to find, just look for the red brick building on Wisconsin. Parking is not as easy, although the metro is not far. I am a big fan of kale so when I saw a ramen bowl with it I took a chance and took a risk on ordering the Galanga Ramen. The coconut milk broth base was different, somewhat sweet. The kale was crusted in something that sort of soaked it up good, maybe thats the galanga? I'm not sure how they maintained a slight spicy kick that surprises you in some bites but it was delicious.

I wasn't super impressed by this place. The bamboo shoots felt stringy, the broth wasn't very hot, and the egg wasn't as jammy as I would like. Nothing in my bowl looked very appetizing but I had to eat it nonetheless. I also find it so weird when establishments that make you order on an app and then don't have the waiter do much other than bring the food ask you for a tip when you pay. When you order on the app, it makes you prepay which is a red flag for me given that I haven't tried the food yet. I don't think I'll be back!

Delicious ramen! It was the perfect meal for a rainy day in DC. We came with a group of 4 and got seated right away for a Monday dinner. Ordering is easy; scan the QR code, then order and pay on the app. Each dish can be modified or changed to your preference. I started with the strawberry lemonade for a drink and ordered the Tom yum ramen. Usually it comes with shrimp but I substituted that with the fried chicken instead. I really appreciated the fact that substituting meat or any other modifications was free. The ramen was delicious! The perfect amount of spice and great flavor. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and really good. The only small thing that we noticed is there wasn't any hot sauce or chili oil when we requested it. The only thing they have is a spicy mayo for their sushi which wouldn't go well with ramen. Other than that no issues and our food was great. So far Oki Bowl is the best ramen I've had in DC!

OKI bowl is one of the most aesthetic and camp places to eat in DC. It's a bit on the smaller side but there's semi-outdoor seating that's just as fun as the inside. I ordered the miso ramen and it was super satisfying. The chasu pork and egg melt in your mouth, the corn is super sweet, and I really like that they also include bean sprouts. However, I think the broth itself is a bit lackluster. It doesn't really have a miso taste to it. The ordering process is super simple too -- you can place your order thru the website they give you with a QR code and it's essentially a running tab that you control until you close it. Great if people are shy about ordering/anxious when speaking to servers. (Definitely check out the bathroom here too -- equally as fun as the restaurant!)

I'm obsessed with this place and already planning when I can make another trip down so I can try more things on the menu. We went on a Friday afternoon and even though the restaurant itself is small we had no problem getting a table. The decorations/ambiance is so fun, bright and festive, even the bathrooms are decorated in bright crazy colors and decor. You can't help but smile while you are there. The food was amazing! We started with chicken potstickers which came with a peanut curry broth and Shishito peppers with bonito flakes and thick ponzu dipping sauce, both were delicious and I would absolutely order again. I had the Spider Tom Yum Ramen which was spicy and full of lemongrass flavor. The soft shell crab was perfectly fried. My friend had the Miso Ramen with jumbo shrimp which was equally delicious. The ramen was a perfect balance of broth to noodle. When you go be prepared to scan a QR code to see menu and order and pay. The process was actually very easy. I highly recommend this place!

I went to Oki on a rainy Saturday afternoon to enjoy some ramen. I immediately noticed how interesting the restaurant was decorated, this surprisingly caries over to the bathroom too. It is very unique but I enjoyed seeing something different. They had great mid 2000s music playing as well which was fun. The restaurant isn't huge but they have both indoor and outdoor seating options which is nice. The menu and ordering was all done through the QR code on table so we didn't have the chance to interact with the staff very much but everything came out quickly and correctly. We ordered the Oki Curry Ramen and the YAKISOBA noodles, both with fried chicken. Both dishes were delicious and I would recommend either depending on what mood you're in. The curry ramen was a little different than traditional ramen and was like a Thai/Japan fusion dish but it tasty and had a good kick to it and the different topping completed each other well. The yakisoba noodles had a great salty and sour flavor but since there wasn't a broth the chicken felt a little dry so we asked for a side of spicy mayo for dipping. A solid Japanese restaurant in the city, definitely worth a try if you're in Georgetown and are in the mood for a warm bowl of noodles! I'll definitely be back at some point to try some of their other dishes!

One of my favorite restaurants in DC. Maybe even my favorite! I eat here like once a month at least which is really saying something considering I really try to mix it up when it comes to trying new restaurants on the reg. My must order every time is the Oki Curry Ramen (Curry and coconut milk broth. Garnished with shallot, pickled cabbage, fried chicken and crispy noodle) I sometimes order an extra side of fried chicken but only if I'm feeling extra hungry. I like that if you order to go, they package everything up separately so your noodles don't absorb all the broth and the crispy noodles don't get soggy. Highly recommend especially on a chilly day!

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. I'm only deducting because, if you're allergic to shellfish like I am, your options are pretty limited. That said, they are VERY honest and upfront about possible cross-contamination, which I really appreciated. I ordered the miso ramen with mushrooms, and the lychee sake. Let's start with the sake... It was heavenly. The perfect drink to have on a hot evening. I probably should've ordered more than one. The ramen was delicious! This is probably the first time that I've ever had an entire bowl in one sitting. It was a tad salty, but not so much to be turned off. I didn't eat much of the pork, but that's because it's a little difficult for me to eat with just chopsticks (I need more practice), and the soft boiled egg was the perfect topping. Normally you make poor decisions when you're being lazy, but I'm glad this wasn't one of them. Great food and friendly and helpful service! Worth the visit.

Such a very cute, lively setting! Restaurant is not as spacious but very cute, just in case you're cautious with COVID nowadays. I ordered the Oki Curry Ramen bowl. Very good! Not too spicy and not too oily (as in the past, some ramen would be too oily for me). I'm not a huge fan of ramen, but this place is one of my top places I would recommend to get a yummyful ramen bowl!

Have been to Bothe the old location and new one and I'll never get tired of their food. It is always amazing!! Definitely recommend the curry ramen!! I will say it's kind of spendy but worth it. I miss the decor of the old location but still love this place. Also, service was excellent

Walking through Georgetown we found this Ramen gem! So yummy and exactly what my tummy needed on this chilly day. The flavors were delicious I enjoyed every bite and it was hot and fresh. This is a small dinning area so not ideal for large groups, pricing is reasonable. It's more of a self order you scan the QR on the table and then place your orders you can also pay through that same platform. The servers were nice and helpful, definitely a chill vibe. Don't walk past this delicious place! We had the Kimchi Ramen with pork and the Miso ramen both were amazing and filling! Chicken potstickers were the perfect starter paired with the spicy seaweed salad.

My family and I came here before but it was at a difficult location. Let's just say this place is soooo beautiful, the decorations inside were unbelievable! There's indoor dining and outdoor. We stayed inside which was perfect it was only us at the time. Service was GREAT, super friendly staff. Since we have been here before we knew what to expect and what to order. Everything was delicious!

My friend and I stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon based on a recommendation we got. It was conveniently near a museum we wanted to go to. It looks like a hole in the wall type place on the outside, but once you step in you'll think you've been transported to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory or the like. The interior is small but super vibrant and cheerful, contrary to the exterior. It wasn't busy when we came but it definitely filled up fast later on. You order through a QR code and it places your orders under a tab. It's convenient and saves you a lot of time flagging down a waiter, but can seem like service is lacking. Our orders came out pretty quickly after we ordered. My friend ordered the Miso Ramen Bowl and I ordered the limited edition Sakura Ramen Bowl, which is a dry noodle dish with shrimp tempura and veggies. We thought the flavors seemed very bland and it was a bit overpriced for what we got. Also to add on any toppings, it would cost an extra $2-4. We did think it was interesting that they had a fusion type menu though. I don't think I would go out of my way to come again unless I just happened to be in the area for something else.

I went to Oki Bowl for dinner and got the Karaage Bowl. It was basically 20% chicken, 10% toppings, and 70% rice. The chicken was pretty good, but I certainly would've liked a bit more complexity to the dish. Plus, I don't want to be paying $17 for a dish that's mostly just white rice. We were seated in a cute little outdoor alleyway next to the restaurant (the interior is also uniquely and nicely decorated). The service speed was decent and our waitress was attentive... maybe a bit too much. We arrived kind of early around 5:30. After having been there for maybe half an hour, the waitress started checking up on us seemingly every 5 minutes. As a naturally slow eater, I did not appreciate this. Then, about 45 min into our meal, she returned and placed the check on our table without us even asking and while I was still eating my rice. I don't think the restaurant was even that busy, but in any case, this passively aggressive way of basically kicking us out was not appreciated. At least they could've told us that they needed another free table and asked nicely for us to finish up. Overall, Oki Bowl is fine if you're a speedy eater, but slow eaters beware! You might be subject to the same mild passive aggression. Good thing I only had rice left in my bowl anyways.

The layout of the decor in this restaurant is really an eye catcher. The lights and the movement is really triply but also nice to look at. I had the Spider Tom Yum Bowl which was really creamy and also tangy but I wish I had ordered the crab on the side. I love having crunchy stuff in ramen but by the time I got the bowl it was already soggy.

I am a soup and ramen connoisseur, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to these types of dishes. I always try other ramen places but never come back for a second time. But with Oki, I've been coming here since like 2016. They used to have a location on M St which closed so the Georgetown one is their only location now and I visit at least twice a month, sometimes more lol. I always get the Tom Yum ramen. Sometimes the Spider Tom Yum if I feel like have crispy fried soft shell crab. But the standard Tom yum is just fried prawns. The SOUP in the Tom yum is the best ever. My friend who's a lover of Thai food has said Oki is the only place in the US so far that makes their Tom yum soup exactly like what she had in Thailand. It's so tangy and full of flavor
