This was my first time staying at an Okko property, and I would definitely say that their model of not being a "traditional" hotel rings true. When you walk into the lobby, there is a feeling of pleasant minimalism. Instead of a large lobby desk, there is a single station for one-on-one service, which was fine during my stay because there were never long lines.
Walk through the lobby and you are in "The Club," which is part library, part lounge, part wine and meal bar, part business center. I used it to print some documents before a meeting, as well as to grab breakfast. On that note, the breakfast is more ample than you might find at other places in France in general. The Club also has a happy hour sort of thing, and your first glass of wine is on the house--very nice touch.
As for my room itself, it was actually larger than some other European hotel rooms I've had. Things are laid out well, which is important in a small space, especially the bathroom (which is actually rather small). As opposed to a regular closet, there is a little wardrobe rack with hangers. This was totally fine for me. There are ample power outlets throughout the room, although note that there are no provided non-Euro plugs, so be sure to have your adapter (they may have them at the front desk, but I didn't ask since I had my own).
I really enjoyed the balcony in my room, which let in a nice river breeze. Depending on which way your room is facing, you might have a view straight out to the Rhone. I found the location to be convenient, although getting a taxi from here is the struggggle bus. I ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes for an Uber as no taxis were passing by during rush hour in the morning.
The hotel staff were friendly and useful. As an aside, everyone speaks English, although I always recommend using the local language as much as possible.
Altogether, this was a pleasant hotel experience. My one ding is that the hot water, particularly in the bathroom sink, may be hit or miss. It absolutely would not get hot yesterday in the early morning. Other than that, solid experience!
