FRESH! FRESH! FRESH! The food quality was spot on! This was My first time trying a Poke bowl when I say this place gave me an experience to remember and enjoy! The owner was patient with me he took the time to explain each available ingredients! He also gave samples of the ingredients that I wasn’t familiar with. His Customer Service skills were top notched he made me feel welcome and he decreased My anxiety related to trying a new experience inspired by My niece Gabby who loves Poke Bowls!❤️ The Owner and My niece explain what the Poke Bowl is it they both said it is basically a Sushi Bowl. If you want to experience this delicious dish you need to definitely go check it out! I will definitely be back! Quick side note I was not use to eating cubes of raw fish. The texture and taste threw me off 😂 but the owner was gracious enough to cook the fish that I selected which was Yellowtail, Tuna and Red Snapper YES you get 3 protein options and the prices are reasonable! This is definitely a 💎!

The owner is a GEM! He is polite, kind, and helpful! The food is delicious. He makes the best sushi rice I've ever eaten. I will definitely be returning!

Google
Love this place, it's my go-to when I want to eat something delicious and healthy. I get salad instead of rice and it's so nice to enjoy food and not feel bad about it. The poke comes with miso soup which is nice to add a feeling of warmth in the belly since the poke is a cold dish. The store is always immaculately clean and the owner is an extremely friendly person who takes great pride in what they do. You can always expect high quality and great service here. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Google
We’ve been coming here for years and it’s hands-down one of our favorite spots. The owner is always super friendly and makes you feel at home. The ingredients are fresh, the sauces are so good, and they really don’t skimp on anything. The poke bowls come with miso soup, and avocado is included without any extra charge—which is pretty awesome. Just solid, consistently great food every time.

Google
1000 STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This poke is an absolute game-changer. Every bite is packed with fresh, high-quality fish that practically melts in your mouth. The spicy mayo and toppings? Next level—each one adds something special. You can tell they put so much care into every bowl. The service is quick, friendly, and you can feel the passion they have for poke. The whole experience is just top-notch. I can’t get enough of this place. 1000/5 stars. You need to try it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Google
Best poke in town! Super fresh fish, so many topping options, and they even give free scoops of avocado and miso soup. They pack your bowl generously and keep everything covered when not busy, which I love. Definitely worth a try great quality at a great price!

Google
I randomly came here with my friends and decided to try it out. They have a wide variety of options with their protein and veggies. 🤤Also the miso soup was pretty good. I would highly recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood craving some poke. 🥰

Google
Best poke bowl I’ve had in a while! Portion sizes were smaller than I hoped, but you get a lot of variety at a flat price. All of the fish was fresh and delicious, and it came with free miso! I would post a pic for the review but I ate the whole thing already!

Yelp
Every time I order from here I forget to take pics lol. I will add them the next time I go I absolutely love this place! The fish is so fresh and good quality and the bowls aren't super expensive. You get free avocado too! I also recommend taking advantage of happy hour from 4-8pm. They have really good spam musubi and hand rolls (I recommend the spicy scallop hand roll) Not to mention the people who work here are really friendly! It's a nice place and while many people don't sit down here it's a nice atmosphere and totally worth the drive if you don't live with the area.

Yelp
I've always seen the sign for this place but never actually tried it out. I realized I had been missing out on awesomeness all these years. This place has become my number one poke spot. For the price, portion, and QUALITY, you can't beat it. No place can compare!! I got the 3 scoop protein bowl with half rice and half spring mix salad; tuna, salmon, and yellowtail; avocado (surprise surprise! they don't charge extra!!!), red onion, corn, seaweed salad, edamame; ponzu + spicy mayo; and sesame seeds, seaweed, and fried onions. They provided a complimentary side of miso soup, which was very appreciated and yummmm. I was in utter awe of how delicious this meal was. The fish was fresh and filling. The sauces enhanced everything. Flavors just exploded in my mouth. I finished my bowl in one sitting. I'm a relatively slow eater and tend to leave w leftovers, but I scraped my bowl clean. After I finished, I already started thinking about when I'd be paying my next visit. Service was spectacular!! The employees are sooooo warm and welcoming! I knew who their regular customers were just by how they greeted them. If I lived closer to Bellaire, I'd be a regular for sure lol. The parking wasn't bad, but I know it can get crazy depending on when you go!

Yelp
Poke bowl was really good. The reason for the average review is that I went for the happy hour specials and none of that menu was available. Not even the musubi which I was really excited about. Lastly this is kind of weird, but when I tried to tip on the "you better tip or the person behind you will judge you" iPad, it wouldn't work. So I pressed the next highest tip option and voila! It worked. Sort of a weird way to get more tip. Probably not intentional. Seating was very plentiful. I was actually concerned at the lack of customers on a Saturday evening. Service was OK. Cashier did not seem happy in general.

Yelp
The service here is impeccable! They are patient and attentive every time I've been. The menu shows steps from 1-6 to build your poke bowl. I love that they have yellowtail and red snapper here, which are not available at many poke restaurants. The regular size gives you 3 proteins, the large gives 5!! No extra charge for avocado, AND free miso soup! It's quite a steal in my opinion. It would be nice to see a few more mix-in items (they call it poke mate), like hijiki seaweed or crab salad. But they do have a nice variety. I was too eager for my bowl this time, only remembered to take a picture of it half way through lol. I got spring mix as the base, with salmon, tuna. My favorite sauce is ponzu - a hint of citrus and a little sweet. I get the sauce on the side because it can be too much sometimes. I think the sauces with soy are on the saltier side. You can ask for sample to make sure you like it. Overall it's a nice, peaceful place to have a casual lunch/ dinner with your friends. It's a healthier food option also, that's always a plus! PS. During happy hour 4-8pm, their handrolls are only $3.50, and $1.50 for sushi.

Yelp
I tried Okome Don for the first time this past weekend, and I must say, I think it is my new favorite poke spot in Houston! There are many things I loved about this place: - The man working behind the counter was super nice and friendly. - I am not a huge fan of raw fish, but Okome Don offers crab meat as a protein option, which I was really happy about. - The selection of veggies, toppings, and sauces are great. - The poke came with a free cup of miso soup! - The price was super reasonable, at $10.95 for a regular bowl. Overall, I highly recommend, and I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Okome Don was the perfect quick lunch in Bellaire. I was in the mood for something on the healthier side that was relatively affordable as well. Okome Don checked all those boxes and more. Walking in, there's a good amount of seating and the restaurant is kept quite clean. The guy, who seemed like the owner, helped me build my bowl and offered great suggestions if I wasn't sure about anything. The scoops of protein here are slightly on the smaller side compared to other poke shops in Houston, but for $10.95/bowl it was still a solid deal. They even give you a cup of miso soup included. I opted for a mix of tuna and salmon, all of the toppings because I like variety, and the owner recommended I get a mix of their spicy poke soy and spicy mayo for the sauce. 10/10 would get again! Overall, Okome Don was exactly what I was looking for for lunch in Bellaire. It's quick, affordable, and fresh tasting. I'll come back for sure, enjoy! PS. Avocado is included here which is a huge plus!

Samah K.

Yelp
I came here with some friend and this place was really good! Service was quick and ambiance was nice. There are plenty of toppings and proteins to choose from. I will say that when I asked if their sushi rice had Mirin in it, the chefs weren't sure so I opted for brown rice just to be safe (we do not consume alcohol).
google avatar

India B.

Yelp
Okome Don is my favorite poke spot in all of Houston! It is one of the only places that offers unagi as a protein and the large bowl is 5 scoops of protein compared to other places like Pokeworks which offers 3, and there's no up-charge for salmon or select proteins, which other places have recently started. Each bowl comes with a hot cup of miso soup and they offer sushi happy hour from 4-8pm daily! The owner is always very friendly and welcoming! The space is pretty big inside with adequate seating for groups and smaller parties. I usually grab a bubble tea or dessert nearby and pick up a bowl for lunch or dinner before hitting the tollway!
google avatar

Tori N.

Yelp
The man working behind the counter is so fast and efficient when he's preparing orders. I appreciate the care that goes into each order, to-go's included. Plenty of seating available for dine-in. Poke was fresh and delicious. (And avocado isn't extra!!!)
google avatar

Sahlee L.

Yelp
This is my go to for poke bowl. Great selections, very fresh ingredients and friendly staff. The sauces are on point. Meals comes with miso soup but honestly I like my miso soup with stronger taste. The meal bowl are plastic so I always hope they recycle. Parking is usually an issue so come during non peak hours. Other places just doesn't taste the same so we drive in from Rosenberg.
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best poke places I've tried! Although it does not have as many options as other places I've been - the quality and taste is what matters. Okome don is that place whenever I crave poke. The portions are good & it also comes with a free miso soup. I always order a spam musubi whenever I go also! The owner is super sweet and friendly. It's always pretty quiet whenever we go - I feel like most people order to-go but I hope this place gets more love that it deserves!
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Very reasonably priced poké here, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite spot. However, I have always had great service, which is a huge plus! The shop is clean and well-kept. Great place to come if you're in a pinch! I had a large 5 scoop protein: half and half base with yellowtail, scallop and tuna. Poke mates: tofu, edamame, cucumber and green onion. Sauce: house ponzu, sides: seaweed salad and oshinko. I will say that they are VERY generous with their poke mates and toppings, too!
google avatar

Marianne V.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place out for years since it's opened. Finally got the chance. I was actually really underwhelmed. The portion size is ok. Their spicy soy was really spicy. Maybe I can be a biased because pokeworks has excelled at the commercial poke. But overall not terrible. Comes with miso soup. Which was pretty salty for my palate. Parking can be hard since it's in the same plaza as all the new desserts/ boba shops
google avatar

Beatriz P.

Yelp
Food is delicious and service was fast and enjoyable... restrooms needed cleaning and parking was limited
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Staff is always friendly and apple is super yummy and affordable! I love how you get complimentary miso soup
google avatar

Juliana C.

Yelp
My favorite poke place in Houston! I've been coming here for years now! Free miso soup with your poke bowl. The staff here are kind and friendly. The fish here is always fresh and delicious. Restaurant is always clean and tidy.
google avatar

Moni T.

Yelp
One of our top three poke places in the city-great price, great value, great quality and portion sizes, and great flavor. For around $11, you can choose three different types of protein, unlimited other sides, and for the base you can even do half and half (lettuce and rice). In addition, they give you a cup of miso soup, even for to-go orders. Service is fast. Great place to visit if you want something quick and easy, healthy and filling.
google avatar

Gina N.

Yelp
Wow! My first review of this place did not age well. I'd like to say this this place has grown on me drastically. From the quality of the food, the value, all the way down to the service, everything is executed perfectly. This poke place offers a wide variety of options to choose from, and many items that places would typically charge extra(masago, and avocado) come to you free of cost. Which is absolutely incredible considering their inexpensive offering: $10.95 for 3 scoops of protein, $14.55 for 5 scoops... AND you get free miso soup. You'd think that with those kind of prices, the portions must be small right? Wrong! They do not skimp on their portions. Okome Don provides amazing value, for the quality that they put out. The protein, sides, & veggies are consistently fresh just as the service is consistently hospitable. I highly recommend visiting this mom n pop poke restaurant. It's run by an older Japanese gentleman who definitely deserves the support.

Jose A.

Yelp
Pretty good Poke, the 3 protein deal is such a great deal and their protein selection is high quality stuff. Strongly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
10/10 excellent food so fresh Amazing service Pedro and Mr Steve always so kind to us. Mr Steve so knowledgeable about his product so passionate about his job and cares for his customers! I come here about 2-3 times a week it's just very good. The place is so clean along with the restrooms which I appreciate. Guys come check this place out ! It really should be 5.0 just amazing overall
google avatar

Tram T.

Yelp
They don't skimp on their portions! The owners are super friendly and if you're struggling to pick what should go in your bowl or what sauces to put, the owner will help you pick out a sauce based on your preferences. A regular comes with 3 scoops of protein, while a large comes with 5 scoops. I love that this place has a variety of protein options, I saw octopus, scallop, eel, shrimp, crab and others. I also noticed that they don't charge extra for avocado. They also had tofu as a side (no additional cost). My bowl came with a side of hot soup at no charge! I love it here every time I come.
google avatar

Caroline N.

Yelp
Yummy poke for a great price! The staff was very friendly which made my visit even better. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Hayley T.

Yelp
I will always come back to this spot! Great service, the restaurant is clean, and the freshness and quality of protein & sides is unbeatable.
google avatar

Vicky B.

Yelp
Great poke place in chinatown! I always drove by this place but finally decided to go in and give it a chance. They have a decent menu for people who aren't sure what to get. I did notice they have more fish options than most poke places that I've been to which was great and they give you more scoops of it, and options to choose protien for a regular size bowl. The fish tastes fresh. I do wish they had more side options as well like fried garlic, or other vegetable/fruit options also. Overall I like this place and they are super friendly! Great to have friends come together and you can always take to-go, they're really quick!
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Best poke in Houston!! Great owner, good atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here if you're visiting Houston and interested in having some poke & sushi!!
google avatar

Marlee J.

Yelp
Everything I had on my bowl was fresh and delicious. The price was surprisingly good. I got a decent amount of food and almost unlimited toppings, you can get one of each topping. I would definitely return again.

Daniel Q.

Yelp
The poke bowls are really delicious. There's so many options to make it your way, you get a bowl of miso soup with it as well, the sushi and hand rolls are great.
google avatar

Khang H.

Yelp
$10 for 3 proteins and free miso soup Definitely recommend! The atmosphere is really nice, the owner is friendly

Nora V.

Yelp
Sometimes I feel like I'm single handily paying their rent bc of how much I come here... such a great lunch spot. $10 and some change for a filling serving of poke + miso soup. The guys that work here are sweet and kind. Big fan! I don't usually review but I come here so often / enjoy their food so much that I thought I should.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Great price for what you get I wish tobiko counted as a topping and not a protein like most poke bowl places. Otherwise fresh and perfect for a light & healthy lunch

Lorraine D.

Yelp
It was my first time and the server was pretty helpful. I got the large bowl with 5 scoops of proteins. And it comes with complimentary miso soup. They have pretty good variety of proteins and veggies. It was delicious I'm definitely coming back for more.
google avatar

Lou C.

Yelp
Pretty good poké served here at Okome. Thanks for being the one and only poké restaurant in Chinatown. Scoop was little smaller than other restaurants, but sufficient for my need I was looking for a quick bite at this unknown strip mall next to Sterling Square. Since Sandong Noodles and Parisian were closed on Monday, I had to do some thinking. Poké sounds good for a snack in a lazy Labor Day afternoon. I saw how to order from outside window. I walked in and greeted by a friendly employee. He gave me a quick tour of ingredients. My base was just mixed greens. Proteins are just familiar ahi, salmon and tuna. I chose spicy shoyu as dressing. It came out pretty with sesame seeds and seaweed topping. Poké tasted fresh but dressing on mixed greens made the whole dish saltier than I can handle. Best way to distract my taste buds is reading those Yelp reviews. I'll try something different next time, perhaps with rice.
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
BEST Poke in Houston! You must try! Plus I lost 20 lbs within 3 months by eating here. Super healthy
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
One of our favorite poke places in Houston!! Portions are fairly large and compared to other places, the price is fair. Avocado is not charged for extra and there is a wide selection of protein! Also complimentary miso soup so it just helps if you needed something warm. Spacious area with coffee shop music, makes it a good place to catch up on any work too.
google avatar

Mao P.

Yelp
The good: variety of protein with unagi being a favorite; lots of add ons including free scoop of avocado and pretty much all the sauces that's part of the basic poke options. The bad: portions portions and portions. The protein scoops were small, the lettuce bowl was even smaller. I remember getting a stuffed bowl in the past but now, it's light weight and filling like an appetizer. Was one of the better poke joints in the past and now, it's just average.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
First, there was a review for bad service on here. I agree that bad service ruins and entire experience so I was hesitant to try but the reviews were too high to not try. I am an avid Poke eater on Hawaii and miss it so much when I'm away. It's so hard to find anything half way decent to compare. Honestly I've almost give Up trying. I was very happy with the total experience here and freshness. Was it Hawaii....NO, but it's the closest I've found to enjoyable. I also have to talk up Emmaus who works here. He was SUPER kind, helpful and patient to understand all the ingredients. After reading the poor service review, I was stoked to have this experience. So YES, all around fresh and tasty ingredients, great experience and Emmaus took it to a whole new level with customer service!!!
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
It was my first time coming here & I look forward to coming back! The workers were kind, and were patient with my friend & I since we were new to the place. The regular size lets you pick 3 scoops of protein choices, and the large size lets you pick 5 scoops of protein choices (I admit, this confused me at first). Because of this, I feel like you get a lot for the price. Overall, I was quite satisfied, great service and amazing food!

Roger N.

Yelp
Food is fresh and delicious. Customer service is outstanding. This is my favorite Poke place in all of Houston.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
We tried to like the place but ultimately were disappointed. Average food, decent portion, bad service. We swung by around 5pm-ish for an early dinner and the establishment was empty, understandable since it was pre-dinner rush. Anyhow, the server glared at us walking in as if he didn't want us there. Weird, but I brushed it off. It was our first time here and we asked a few questions to have a better understanding of the menu, in which we received super short and not very informative responses. How does this place have 4.5 stars? I hope it's not the service. In short, you choose a base, 3 or 5 proteins, toppings, and sauce. All bowls are served with complementary miso soup. Let me tell you what's in my bowl: - Base: half and half of sushi rice and salad - Proteins: I went with the 3-protein combo of shrimp, unagi, and salmon. Proteins were fresh and well marinated - Sauce: spicy Mayo and it's actually spicy! - Toppings: green peas, tamago, red onions, corn, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, and dry seaweed flakes. Again, the server was super distracted and somewhat rude. Every time he asked us what protein/toppings we wanted, we had to repeat each ingredient twice because otherwise he would not remember. Overall all the ingredients are fairly fresh and portion is alright (not sure how everyone thinks they're super generous because you can still see spots of rice on my bowl). We would definitely not come back anytime soon.
google avatar

Tinh T.

Yelp
Been here multiple times and every time I've enjoyed the quality of their food! The owners are extremely nice and friendly and they always have been since the start! I really enjoy their large selection of protein. Most poke places don't have the number of selections like they do here. It is 3 scoops for a regular and 5 scoops for a large and they even have avocado without the extra charge! With every meal, there comes a nice warm miso soup and it pairs itself well with your poke. They only minor complaint I have about this place is that it doesn't have any masago but they do have other selections of toppings for their crunch.
google avatar

Jason O.

Yelp
This is my favorite place and this visit was the first time ever use the restroom and it's just as clean and it's awesome as the restaurant. This time I tried the sushi during happy hour. Delicious spicy yellowtail
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
A good option for poke if you're in the area. There's a variety of proteins to choose from but I got the regular bowl with salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. Avocado is included and doesn't cost extra. It wasn't my favorite poke bowl I've had but good for the price and area.

Roselyn G.

Yelp
I love poke and I've tried many places around Houston , so far this one is the best . Prices are really good compared to other places. I haven't seen $10 bowl with 3 proteins in years until last night that I visited this location . The guy that helped us out was really nice, also they gave us free soup which was very tasty. The inside is very clean, no doubt I'll drive the 40 mins just for this poke.
google avatar

Tutti S.

Yelp
Fresh poke, but the soup was so flavorful, I gave one of my grands a taste and he decided to polish it off.
google avatar

Ambrosia A.

Yelp
Friendly staff and fresh ingredients! I like to build my own bowl and everything is always flavorful, and they try to wait as close as possible to your pickup time to make to go orders so that the food doesn't sit out.
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
$10.50 for a loaded, regular 3-scoop bowl. Yes, 3! Fresh ingredients, unique fish/protein options & toppings (check out the menu!). I got 2 salmon and 1 tuna scoop w/ ponzu and spicy mayo sauce. The greens were fresh and not the cheap kind like some places that are wilted. The brown rice was cooked well. I didn't care for the oshinko (pickled vegetable) though; it was a little too hard, I'm not sure what it was (daikon?). Even avocado, tofu, & tamago (egg) were free! Complimentary miso soup. Happy hour on sashimi, nigiri ($1/pc?) & rolls after 4pm. I think everyone gets the bowls though. Dine in available during covid. Super nice owner. Glad I found this place. My other go-to is Aina Poke in Richmond if you're on that side of town.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Loved the poke bowl here - a great variety of toppings and all included in the price! Tobiko is always a plus and the free avocado mmmmm
google avatar

Cyto K.

Yelp
The best Poké places I've ever had, and honestly for the price to quality and how much you get beat most of the places that I've tried so far The owner is very nice and sincere. I talk to him every time I go here and I love the interaction and the place it's small enough for a small group to go to for lunch or a date and the price for what you get because honestly good overall I'm happy and I go here majority of the time it means other other poke places that opened up and it still one of the few that standing from what I can tell so you can see why I normally get three proteins some days I want five but usually three is enough for one individual to eat plus everything else I can get to put on it my recommendation if you don't have a picky tongue is that you can use Ponzu or house, soy with the spicy, mayo and coconut ginger. That's what I usually go with, but I do sometimes mix it up depending This place is great !
google avatar

Angela V.

Yelp
This is the best and most affordable sushi place in all of Houston. ( they don't even charge extra for avocado) The fish has always been fresh every time I went, and I go around once a week. The owner is one of the nicest people.
