Boston-Area Booze News, Fall 2020: Brewery Updates and More - Eater Boston
"Whitman’s Old Colony Brewing has expanded to a second location. The original at 605 Bedford St. remains open for brewing, while the new spot (599 Washington St.) features a taproom with space for 60 and a brewing system for small-batch trials." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
Attended a networking event at Old Colony Brewery and really enjoyed it! The Kolsch beer is delicious and Dennis was very friendly and welcoming. Great little spot with quality local beer that tastes much better than the mainstream stuff 🍻

Stopped in and had a few different beers on tap on the coldest night this year. Big fan of well-lit environment as well as the Tollhouse Porter. Great to see a bunch of locals come in and support their local brewery. Their hours are perfect for a weekend spot! I'll be stopping by more often

My husband and I both got a flight. Wasn't a beer on the slab that I didn't like! You won't be disappointed with any of them! We only tried the snacks but the menu looks impressive for food to come for lunch or dinner. The pretzel was AWESOME. We brought our son with us and the waitress was really friendly towards him and seemed to enjoy that he was there. The owner came to our table to meet us too which was nice of him to come and see people he hasn't met yet. We will definitely come back for more beer!

Love this place! If you are a fan of good craft beer, you gotta check it out
They also have hard seltzer in pretty much any flavor you might want, including special holiday flavors

Great brewery with a good amount of IPAs and a great porter. Full fill growlers , crowlers, and 12 oz cans filled while you wait. Amazing staff makes it a great place to get some craft beer to go and have a pint or two while you wait.

Stopped in planning to get some food to eat in there with a beer or two, found I could just spend the hour they were still open just talking the whole time. Enjoyed the solid brews I tried, easy to understand why they sell/brew so much of the Money Line (New England IPA).

Quaint lil spot that felt like a local Cafe more than a brewery. The staff was friendly, the beers were really good. 5 🌟 I'm Nielsen, this is my rating

Great new tap room in Whitman center. Huge upgrade from the previous spot. I wish they had more days they were open but great place with good brews.

Yelp
My husband and I come here all the time. The hours are somewhat limited, but they're a growing local business. The beer and staff are great. It's dog friendly and an all around great atmosphere. It's a nice spot to watch a game, and enjoy a high quality beer. If your on the south shore, stop by. You won't regret it!

Yelp
After our warm up at 10th District in Abington we drove a short distance down Rt 18 to Whitman and came to OCB. They opened at 6 and what do you know we were first again. Suits me just fine as it gave me time to chat it up with the bartender. As more patrons arrived we enjoyed the friendly bar banter that ensued. The rich voice and great tunes by solo guitar player Ken Snow made the time even more enjoyable. I am a big fan of pairing music to drinking and the combination of great beers and tunes made for a 5 star experience.
From the outside the space doesnt look that large but after you enter you come into a nice size and comfortable tap room with a good number of tables. The tanks and apparatus are in the back warehouse section not visible to patrons. A couple of TV's made watching the Sox game possible. I noticed a lot of breweries dont have TV's I think the cost is prohibitive and some bars say they want to promote patrons conversing like in the old days before tv. Not sure but to me a TV can fill in dead time and if there is an important event why not enjoy a brew and watch some.
On the whole the beer was tasty. They had 10 beers on tap. A pretty solid if not standard line up. I started with the Hoppy Patriot and Deep End in the 2 flight sampler. Both beers are good. Then I tasted the Money Line before getting a pint to get the IPA's out of the way. It's a hazy New England brew that hits the spot. It was my favorite. One thing I noticed is that for the whole lineup the ABV's are on the lighter side if you call 7.0 for the Deep End light LOL
Anyways we stayed for awhile more enjoying the music and beer and then had to head toward home with a last stop at Shovel Towns new beer garden in downtown Brockton. Not doing a review on that but its a pretty large outdoor spot with a stage and there was a reggae band playing. Decent crowd too. Great job by Shovel Town to get the beer stand there! Only open weekend nights I believe. if you find yourself in that area it's a clean safe oasis and I hope it leads to more renovations in the area.

Yelp
Quiet Sunday afternoon stop to check out the new place. Only a couple people, socially distanced. Had a nice cold, refreshing Kolsch. The tap girl was pleasant and quick. Nice space, will be back again.

Yelp
The beer was great but the girl working the bar had the personality of a doorknob. She was not interested in telling us more about Old Colony but she did tell us that she hated one of them and hated the decor/taproom.
I would recommend it but if you're usually into chatting up brewery staff then I wouldn't get your hopes up here.

Yelp
This place is my favorite local brewing spot! The owners are part of a local Whitman family with a love for beer! I love coming on Sunday's to watch football and drink beer! Beer is affordable ($5-$7) and they add a new beer every month! They have limited hours, but you HAVE to make the time and stop by when they are open. Support the local breweries!
