On the Grid : Old Fourth Distillery

"The first distillery to open in Atlanta in more than a century, OFD offers great small batch gin and vodka (and they're working on bourbon, too!) in a beautifully rustic homage to old Atlanta. The front tasting room is really well designed, adorned with original containers from R.M. Rose Co. distillery (the last distillery in the city which closed in 1906) and the gleaming copper stills can be seen just past the front room. Plus, their bathroom has a door that looks like a bookshelf!" - Steven Johnson Studio

What a great experience today! The knowledge we received from staff was interesting and the bourbon flight was incredible! We love bourbon and great customer service! O4D was the best of both worlds and the craft cocktails were delicious! I didn’t get a pic of my dirty martini but it was one of the best I have had!

Beautiful, quaint distillery! I took a tour and learned so much about local distilling history, Old Fourth’s roots and how their products are made, and got to try some samples of their products. All of that was $15… definitely worth it if you have the time (even if you don’t care for spirits, it’s fun!). The bartender/tour guide also shared some of their favorite local places, and it was awesome to hear support for other places in the community. I also ordered a cocktail and it was fantastic. People who were there at the same time as me were raving about their cocktails, too. I took some bottles home with me and they were a great value for the quality of the product. Give Old Fourth a visit if you’re in the area! It’s not too too far from other points of interest like breweries, the beltline trail, restaurants, etc.

Stopped in for some cocktails and comedy at one of the events and the space is really nice. They have the stills and nice antique bottles as well as framed memorabilia which gives it a cool vibe. The drinks are tasty!! I wish they had tasting of the bourbon not mixed but we will have to come back for that and do a tour. Comedy was pretty funny. All the people were entertaining. It was a cool event!

I was in town for a day or two looking for someplace fun to go. I ended up here and really enjoyed it. I walked in to the owners and their staff welcoming me in. They were all awesome. Everyone was friendly and everyone was excited to get to know more about me. There was no way that I was walking out without buying something just to contribute to this awesome experience. That being said it was worth walking in to find bottles that I couldn’t get anywhere else. I walked out with a 130 proof whiskey it tasted so good. It made me wanna punch myself in the face. I will have to come back and try some of their other whiskeys as well because it was just such an enjoyable experience. The venue itself can also be reserved for tastings and small parties. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by whiskey, cask, and saddle up to the bar For a small party? That being said if you’re having a small party there and you need an extra guest, please invite me. I’d be happy to sit the room and have a drink with you. Thank you all for an awesome experience. I will return until the details of my exciting journey often.

Great little spot on Edgewood. The inside is beautiful with copper visible as soon as you walk in. They have a decent selection of vodka and gin drinks and the occasional whiskey shot. Highly recommend this up and coming distillery.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great. The staff immediately came out to greet me, including the owners. They seem to not only care about their products, but also the people that interested in them. They took the time to find out more about me and where I was from, and they share their excitement with coming to visit my area soon to hopefully have some distribution down there. Everyone was friendly and talk to me about the products and they even showed me to their back entertaining room. It was a portion of a warehouse surrounded by cast of whiskey And a large bar. This is made for small parties or private events. Sitting in that room felt so awesome. It definitely can put you in a good mood. When I walk back to the shop, I knew I had to purchase something because I just enjoyed the people so much. It was the type of company that you really root for doing well. They let me have a taste of a 130 proof whiskey that was so amazing. I felt like I was gonna punch myself in the face. There was no chance I was walking out without one. As I was leaving, I snapped a picture with the staff and I will definitely be returning again. Thank you guys. I look forward to seeing you soon. And thanks for the suggestion on a great taco place.
