West Seattle Whole Foods Finally Opens - Eater Seattle

"On Sunday, star chef Eric Rivera ended service for his temporary Puerto Rican food window at Batch 206 distillery in Interbay. During its four-month stint, Addo: 206 served up excellent chicharrones with a trio of hot sauces, jibaritos (plantain sandwiches), and Rivera’s popular Richard Burger." - Gabe Guarente

If you haven’t been, go! I’m one of those people who drove by too many times without stopping in. Katarina, the bartender, has created an amazing bar program. Her knowledge of ingredients and local makers is extensive. Ben, the head distiller, has created some bourbons and gins, that are a must try. (We don’t get tot the vodka). The cocktail flights were a nice addition to the usual spirit flights. The new coffee liqueur is perfect! I am super particular about my coffee and the balance of bourbon, coffee and sweetness is an absolute must. Buy a bottle, now!

Ryan Herdrich

Google
Had the bourbon flight, an old fashioned and a manhattan. They were all excellent. Catalina was a joy to interact with. She is very knowledgeable about the spirits.

Brady Daley

Google
The bartender was an expert on so many aspects of the distillery and how to make cocktails. If you like craft cocktails, this is the place to go.

Andrea Lichter

Google
Amazingly inventive flights and phenomenally friendly service! Would absolutely recommend stopping in for a delicious cocktail and a lovely conversation!

My partner and I spent a few hours here the other week and it was a blast! We did not know what to expect coming in, but, man, Brad made our visit worthwhile. He warmly greeted us upon entering and then walked us through a very thorough (and entertaining) tasting tour. I ended up buying some of their Old Tom counter gin, too - one of the more interesting spirits I’ve tried recently. Overall, great conversation, great ambiance, great times. Highly recommend.

Indranil Ghosh

Google
Great cocktails, but almost comedically filled with stereotypical, earnest, white hipsters with beards. As someone who works in tech, listening to the conversations made me laugh out loud. So this is where the Bros are! Excellent service by the super nice British bartender. Music not loud enough to be a conversation blocker but loud enough to set the ambiance.

Tom Forst

Google
I love going to Batch. Their vodka is the best I’ve had and goes great in everything from mules to martinis. They have tastings of all their drinks available for you to try too. The staff is always helpful and welcoming, especially Brad, who says hi whenever he sees us and is enthusiastic about all the products available. Can’t recommend them enough!

Whitney Reid

Google
Excellent experience each time we go to OLC. I am always happy to see Ben the head distiller, I enjoy learning about Whiskey and I like to taste as well. They also make cocktails. Parking is not hard in this area. I always have a great experience when I go to this distillery. I have several of their newest releases. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Excellent experience. wife and did the tasting today. Good range of Burbon. Quiet, mello, and ambiance reflects the drinks. The young lady that poured for us was knowledgable and helpful

Yelp
Great cocktails. What more do you need? I always get an Old Fashioned - my favorite drink and the yardstick by which I measure all bars and restaurants. This did not disappoint. We ordered pizza from Dantini's and they walked it over. It was delicious too!

Yelp
Week 35/52 in my endeavor to try one new (to me) local spot per week! My husband and I had dinner reservations at Palisade but my mom got to the kids early... So naturally, we dipped out as soon as we could to get some extra time together, and a drink before dinner. We wanted to go somewhere near the restaurant and Batch is only a 5 minute drive. Score! Note that their hours are pretty limited. They're only open Thursdays - Sundays for their bar and tasting room. We got lucky to be out on Thursday and caught them while they were open. You can also buy their products online, but being able to experience their bar is awesome. All of their cocktails are obviously made with their spirits. And they're priced nicely at $10! Can't really beat that in the Seattle area. I got a Lemon Drop and my husband got an Old Fashioned. We both really enjoyed our drinks. They also have a couple of wine & beer options. They also have pizza made in-house by a separate company that shares the space with them. It smelled and LOOKED delicious - we'll have to give that a try next time. Great local find. Highly suggest stopping by for a drink or two!

Yelp
We opened the door to a whole new experience. Right on que, a band fired up for a fantastic unplanned welcome. This place has changed the vibe and added music. Plus they have more than vodka and gin. Now there is whiskey and bourbon. Staff were awesome and we enjoyed the flight of tastings. Definitely going back regularly!!!

Yelp
We had a BLAST at this distillery. We partook in a Barrel Tour-Mixology 101 class where we got to make Old Fashions and French 75s. We also go to taste the different alcohols and toured their barrel room. There were about two other groups with us which made us a class of 10 and we had fun with everyone their as well. They also have a pizza shop and that was a great treat to have after a couple of hours of drinking. All of the staff were so welcoming and so nice as well. They did a great job of teaching us how to make the cocktails. Too bad I don't live in Seattle otherwise I'd be here all the time!!

Yelp
Fabulous place to stop by for a tasting and some pizza. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
Great variety and quality from vodka to bourbon to gin to Irish Whisky! Service was exceptional!
google avatar

Kathy S.

Yelp
Super cute spot! The ambiance is awesome and the pizza was amazing. I wasn't sure what to order drink wise and was a bit disappointed that the bartender didn't have any suggestions even after I told him the type of liquor and sweetness I prefer. All and all it was a good time.

Yelp
Found this place by accident because I was looking up a pizza place to eat dinner in Seattle and this distillery shares the space with Dantini pizza. What a pleasant surprise! Both businesses work together to create a really awesome atmosphere and really excellent customer service. The distillery was really cool and had a huge variety of craft cocktails and liquors. Bourbon is their specialty! They even have craft beers which are excellent! If you're looking for a place to have dinner and a drink this is the place to go! It's kind of difficult to find because there is no large sign on the street. I'll be back! Dantini had one of the best, if not the best pizza I've ever had!

Yelp
Attended a whiskey tasting for their new yet to be released whiskey. Specialty cocktails, tapas and great conversation! A tour of the distillery with a Q&A with the Master Distiller. The venue is nice, sofas for tasting and lounging and a separate event room. Definitely a must see if you're into whiskey, or for just an all around good, informative time!

Yelp
The picture I took is what we got when we ordered a plate of Nachos and cheese. Usually, it's the safest thing to order and a generous one. What we got made us start laughing... and the cheese was awful... never was so disappointed from such a simple dish... Oh well, thank you next.... but not in this place.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled on this place while in Seattle and had a great time! Blair, the manager, gave us a wonderful and super informative tour. The spirits were great and the cocktails and food at the bar afterwards. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! This is a definite place to visit if you are in Seattle!
google avatar

Yelp
Went on the 1hr tasting tour through Groupon. We got to sample 5 or 6 different spirits ranging from vodka, gin, bourbon, etc. It was really cool to get samples straight out of the barrel. The guide was informative and spoke about the distilling process for each spirit. I especially liked their gin so I ended up buying a bottle at the end of the tour which was discounted for any tour goers. They also gave a free cocktail at the end; you had to choose from a list of 3 or so. I'll admit I was a little buzzed from the samples and cocktail! Overall it was enjoyable, I'd recommend people to try the tour.

Yelp
I stumbled in to this cozy spot because i have been planning to taste the Chicago style pizza windy city pie. 2pm on a Thursday afternoon i was welcomed inside and the waitress was very nice to me, she guide me to the space on the right side of this shared location within interbay Seattle. Easy parking was available in the garage. What i was impressed with was the great sound quality stereo system. I want to come party here some time in the future.

Yelp
Lovely experience. Girl behind the Bar was very generous in letting us try the bourbon, mezcal, and vodka. Bloody Mary was meh made with Mr. & Mrs.T ..Pizza was really good but crust was a little burnt. Still giving 5 stars for service and ambiance!
google avatar

Emily I.

Yelp
My husband and I bought a Groupon for Batch 206 to try it out. It's a great value as it included a tour of the distillery (with multiple tastings along the way) and a drink at their house bar for a reasonable price. Groupon is always running a 20% off local deal, so be sure to catch it then for an even better deal. The tour is short, but is information (and tasting) dense. It starts with a video of how bourbon barrels are made. The tour continues with tasting some of their spirits at their bar before heading into the back where they explain the distillation process and let you taste spirits directly from the barrel! Hopefully you are lucky enough to have Pat give you the tour, he's very knowledgeable and makes the tour fun!

Yelp
Old fashioned cocktail to go was pretty great. They are operating with minimal staff but don't fail to offer top notch service with a friendly face.

Yelp
I would have never put distillery and learning experience together but this place is both of those plus tons of fun. We went in on a whim and are sooo much smarter and happy that we did. I had noooo idea what a distillery looked like, how it does its magic, etc. We walked out with a fairly solid idea of knowing more of what we didn't even know we didn't know! I learned about what bitters are, am intrigued about wooden barrels and aging molasses. of course, oddly enough we didn't actually try anything but still had a blast with all the great knowledge they shared. I did get a 4 pack of a variety of bitters. I was tempted o try their peach cobbler whisky, but was fearful I'd like it and have no way of getting more since they don't ship to, or distribute even, to Colorado. So guess you can say in some respects we got drunk on knowledge. It was a pretty great feeling! Well we will just have to wait til Colorado let's them into our boarders to give em a try!

Alyssa H.

Yelp
Wow! The fact that this place has been open for six years and has only 4 reviews is crazy. It MUST mean that the people that come here don't know what the inter-webs are. It's amazing; the inter-webs.

Yelp
Playing hookie around Seattle today from Golden Gardens to Alki, we've been meaning to stop by this distillery forever as we pass by it all the time and it did not disappoint. We recommend this for any dates or parties or just a stop through. Tastings for $7 (local made bourbon, Irish whiskey, vodka, moonshine with various flavors to name a few) and comfy atmosphere with couches and TVs to watch games. People here were amazing and just down to earth. Then you go to the bar and specialty drinks and everything else were amazing and more importantly "not" Seattle prices meaning actually very affordable. They have a pizza spot inside as well called Windy City Pie which was bomb.com, think Chicago style deep dish pizza but homemade local crust and ingredients. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

jessica c.

Yelp
So semi-recently this place expanded and next to the tasting room there is now a full bar and also a counter where you can order deep dish pizza! Didn't get a chance to try the pizza when we were here, but intend to next time as I've heard some rave reviews on it. The tasting room was packed when we came in so we did the tasting at the larger bar instead and stayed for a couple cocktails after. I can't remember the bartenders name but he was super informative and helpful and even let us try a couple more sips of stuff even though we had done our 5 tastes. The area is sort of weird as there's not much in the area along this stretch of 15th but lots of fun little places worth checking out all pretty close including this place, a brewery next door, a wine room next door to that, and a cider place about a block away!
google avatar

Kaylee B.

Yelp
Sweet n' buttery potatoes, ol' sister. Their Old Log Cabin bourbon whiskey has set the highest liquor standards in my whole 23 years of life. I'm not saying to trust my experience, or lack thereof; but I will tell you that this shit is good, and it makes one feel like a badass, good-whiskey-sniffin' superhero when sipped neat. Other important notations: There's parking, the staff are relaxed and knowledgeable, and the drinks aren't ridiculously overpriced. The overall aesthetic of the facility is rustic, warm, and cozy, and I bet you and your stickler, curmudgeon-type grandfather would love this place at the very moment you hobble into it.

Yelp
The name comes from the area code phone number. I remember when I had a 206 area code. Fun fact I learned: out of 135+ distilleries in the state of Washington, Batch 206 Distillery is currently one of the top 5 independently owned distilleries in the state for both production and sales. The distillery is open till 6 pm, but after hours you can enjoy their spirits standalone or in craft cocktails at their bar located next door in Windy City Pie. My friend and I walked in on a VERY busy night. Windy City Pie was incredibly busy (man their deep dish pizza looked INCREDIBLE!!! wish I could have eaten it), but we found 2 seats at the very small distillery bar. The two staff members were extremely friendly and could tell I was interested in learning more about 206. Even though they were both busy between the two of them they provided me with a flight of their spirits and gave me the story on each one, and how they were made. Their products are handcrafted in small batches on a 1,000 liter, handmade custom Kothe still! The distillery may be the top 5 in sales, but they are a small and mighty team. The staff members were telling me how they do almost every job when needed. Even labeling the bottles! They currently produce Bourbon Whiskey, Irish Whiskey, Vodka, Gin and Rum. I got to peak into their 8,000 square foot production space in the back. All of their spirits were very well made, easy to drink, and well structured. Many of them were perfect for using in classic style cocktails. My favorite was their rum. I bought a bottle. They opened up their distillery room shop to make my purchase. The service was TOP notch. Amazing people who are passionate about making quality product and sharing that story with others.

Yelp
I love this spot! They have FIVE employees! The tour ROCKS, their mint Vodka is crazy yum, the flavored moonshine is Bomb.com, and the food.....holy authentically yuuuuuummmmm! I walked from the new Hyatt to their spot and back and carried six bottles....cuz they are sooooo good!!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
AWESOME PLACE! The gentleman who helped us with our tasters was incredibly helpful and beyond educated about the spirits they made. 5/5 recommend!
google avatar

Opal D.

Yelp
We toured Batch 206 Distillery this weekend. We tasted over 7 different spirits there. My favourite was the apple pie flavoured See 7 Stars Moonshine, which I think would go wonderfully mixed with apple cider. Their mint vodka was my second favourite. Both my husband and I did not like the whiskey, gin, or peach pie moonshine we tasted here. The distillery was comfortably laid out, tasting room was large, and the stills were pretty and impressive. The woman who was working gave a good tour overall; she made a comment to the group (when we didn't immediately jump to follow her into the back to see the stills) which came off passive aggressive, not to say that she meant it in that way. I recommend stopping by if you want to check out some locally made booze.

Yelp
Legit spot tucked away in a secluded area of Seattle. Polite and knowledgeable bartender that delivered solid customer service. Ambiance is chill. Truly felt like an underground speakeasy inside. Whiskeys were pretty bomb and the beer was even better. I like how there's another brewery to hop over to afterward right nextdoor. Holy Mountain!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after having a couple beers next door at Holy Mountain Brewery and was very pleasantly surprised! The cocktails were amazing - highly recommend the regular old fashioned as well as their gin old fashioned. I am not a gin drinker, but the bartender gave us a tasting of their Counter Gin and it was so good! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service was top notch.

Emmy M.

Yelp
Great beer and the new Cantina food is great! I'd recommend the nachos for sure. The burgers looked appealing as well but I didn't try them. Great service.
google avatar

Darwin G.

Yelp
You walk in and the space is dark, warm, woody driven. Feels more like a cocktail lounge than a distillery. We went with the tasting with five .5 oz pours for $5. Someone walks over to your table or curates at the bar through 8 or so liquors. You get to choose which ones you want a taste of. The fruited moonshines are interesting, great bourbon, and a fun take on gin. If you purchase a bottle, they'll waive the tasting fee. Definitely recommend along with Holy Mountain and Ward Johnson Winery nearby.
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
An absolute MUST for those who appreciate the craft, in any sense of the word! You walk into a beautiful tasting room, tastefully set up with comfy couches and other complementary decor. When my gracious West Seattle host and I sauntered in, we came upon a group tasting already in progress. Our kind server, who was also helping out the other group, very swiftly and seamlessly had us just kinda 'join in.' Very cool! We tried their moonshines (both original and flavored -- I definitely prefer the original), vodkas, gins, whiskeys, and even their specialty pickles! Everything was delicious, hand crafted, explained very succinctly but quite well, and laid out so nicely. I went with a bottle of their vodka (my GWSH already had a bottle of their mint-laced vodka at home -- it was yummy), and my GWSH went with regular moonshine and the whiskey-infused pickles. I can't wait to try their new whiskeys eventually! We went on a brief tour of the distillery itself and got a nice whiff of a barrel of their upcoming rum release. I love this place!
google avatar

Demitri R.

Yelp
Love the dark feel when you walk inside, I was buying bottles but wanted to do a tasting. She was very well informed on how each. From the Rum to Bourbon and Vodka and moonshine. I shall be back to buy more bottles.
google avatar

Robert Q.

Yelp
Okay, so I'm sure most people rate breweries and distilleries based on their booze. However in this case, I think the space alone deserves 5 stars. Its HUGE, has tables, nice bathrooms, big couches and arm chairs, and this great decorative wall behind the bar. You get 5 pours or vodka/gin/whiskey then you get another 5 pours of different flavors of moonshine. For me, the 206 vodka was awesome, and for $25 its a STEAL. Very clean crisp flavor. AND they served it frozen! Haven't been to a distillery that's done that yet! Our bartender did a great job explaining everything about their spirits and the best part.... ITS FREEEEEEEEE! :D
google avatar

Tanya B.

Yelp
Definitely take the time to pop in and do a taste or two! The Vodka(2) and Moonshine(4) are good, especially the apple pie! The whisky, which I came home with, is so smooth and SO SOS SO delicious! Do it - they also have shopping, pickles, sauce and much more in their tasting room! GREAT stop for people out of town or in the neighborhood for the day!
google avatar

Riley S.

Yelp
This review is long overdue! We absolutely love Batch 206 for their exceptional spirits, cocktails, atmosphere, and service. The vibe is very relaxed and friendly and Sean and Blaire both make wonderful drinks. Windy City Pie is great too!
google avatar

Maya M.

Yelp
Definitely recommending this place if you are into good hard liquor. We didn't try the food but the tour guide was awesome and he was very knowledgeable.

HummusNthings A.

Yelp
This place is the BIZ! Good service, unbelievable drinks !! They also serve very good deep dish Chicago style pizza
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Batch 206 had a great variety of liquors, I especially like the Old Log Cabin Bourbon. I've been a few times for tastings and always had a pleasant experience. Pat has always been our tasting guide, he's excellent, definitely recommend coming on a Sunday to do a tasting. If you can stay for a barrel tour, they have some neat stuff going on. The place next door Windy City Pie has great pizza if you need something to eat.
google avatar

Cantlon R.

Yelp
We did our own tour of 5 distilleries and this ended up being our favorite. An impressive tasting venue with a beautiful bar. Greeted by a knowledgeable and down-to-earth host (maybe her name was Katie?) we tasted two vodkas, two gins, four moonshines, and bourbon. The girls loved the mint vodka.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
I may be a touch biased, since they are my neighbor, but I can not stress hard enough how yummy Counter Gin is. I am a drinker, I am a member of the Seattle Gin Society (Which awarded Batch 206 and their gin best Washington State Gin) and I have some pretty serious opinions on how it should be made and what it should cost. This gin uses as many local ingredients as it can (the base is made from wheat outta Walla Walla) and they take the time to make a clean product. Rusty Figgins (head distiller) makes a American style gin, so its lower on the juniper in order for you to enjoy all the other herbs and floral notes that are in gin. Give it a try, for under $29 a bottle you have no excuse to. ( I enjoy it strong. Gin. Soda Water. Ice. Tall glass. Maybe some Scrappy's Bitters if I'm feeling feisty) You can buy it there at the distillery, or you can pick is up at different retailers around the sound (Cosco, Met. Market, Thriftway, Total Wine) Check it out, take a tour, see what's poppin. You will not regret it. Sweet people, yummy product, locally made, good price.
google avatar

Lyssa D.

Yelp
I went to a Holiday Party at Batch 206 Distillery. I loved it here! The Gin is really good, the Moonshine will put a shine on your nose, and I loved the Vodka. I can't hardly wait, I am actually wiggly with anticipation, for the Whiskey. The owners are really sweet and very willing to explain all sorts of things about the distillation of alcohol. They are doing an awesome job of trying to keep it local. It's also a great place for hosting a party. The food they brought in was yummy and the the cocktails they were mixing were great.

Melinda T.

Yelp
The drinks are tasty but the staff are casual to the point of unfriendly. I understand this is not a real bar/restaurant but if you're in a server role at least display a little charm and don't act annoyed with customer. Not busy on a Saturday night, just play a little bit. The roasted nuts are loaded with garlic, chiles and spices, a little odd the menu didn't mention that. I expected warm and fresh but the generous bowl was cold and soggy. I guess that's enough now. Did I say the drinks are good?
google avatar

John E.

Yelp
Wish I could remember the guys name but he was so helpful and his hospitality was on point. Me and my girlfriend came in to try some tasters, we had all different kinds of spirits to try, five each and I believe they were half ounce pours !!! All this only costed us around 10 bucks!! What a steal !! Definitely recommend this place because next-door to them is a connected building with deep dish pizza and have some of the best pizza I've ever tried !!! you have to come to the spot!!
google avatar

Cara N.

Yelp
This place was awesome! We looked them up, no idea if they were open. There were 6 of us. They weren't having tours that day but the owner was willing to make an exception for us. He was born to do this. Gave a great tour and history on how the business started. Beautiful copper stills for the gin, They also make vodka. Tasted them all and bought several bottles. Will be back when we are in Seattle again.

Roma S.

Yelp
This is the chillest bar/eating place! Amazing made-in-house spirits and cocktails! The burger and fish-n-chips were delish too! Definitely worth a trip to the waters edge!
google avatar

Douglas C.

Yelp
Amazing service and detail to the story of the distillery. Loved trying their entire collection.. I'm not a vodka person but loved how eclectic the mad mint was. The pickles were also on point. If you want to support local totally worth checking out.
google avatar

Joshua J.

Yelp
Went in with no expectations and left with 4 bottles yikes.....great quality spirits at a great price.

Sarah R.

Yelp
They open at noon on Saturdays. We showed up 5 till noon and waited till noon to enter. There were a few staff working in the bar area which was completely empty. On the tasting room side there was a woman helping a couple who looked like they had just started their tastimg. We walked up and were not greeted very warmly and were told by the woman behind the bar they were in the middle of a tour and that it would be at least 10 minutes before she could help us and do a tasting for us and showed us the couches we could sit on to wait. Instead of waiting, we turned and walked out. It's a shame because I've driven past many times and wanted to try it, but am not sure how with so many staff there (even if on the bar side) and with a couple just starting the tasting they couldn't also help us. Oh well, it's a good thing there are other distilleries in the area to take my business to. Funny thing is the other places were more than willing to help me when I showed up and didn't make me wait when the place was litteraly empty like Batch 206 did!

Joshua M.

Yelp
Since the first time I came here and tried the old log cabin Bourbon I instantly became brand loyal. Great work guys keep it up
google avatar

Keelen G.

Yelp
I wanted to check out Batch 206 for their gin and aged gin. They are both delicious and the gin pickles are out of this world. I tried the moonshine(good but a bit too sweet for me) and mad mint vodka(very cool how they created the flavor but could be considered over powering) as well. Stop in to taste some fine spirits and relax in the cool bar/lounge area!
