Old Town Tavern

By far our favorite spot in Old Town! Friendly service, love the outside patio. Cool historic building with a cool vibe. They bring in great bands and music. We hear there is a change coming and hoping it will still have the cool vibe!

They need too make it look like an old town tavern, looks modern. They have lost the feel the original OLD Town Tavern. Bring back the brick look on walls, get ride of white walls. They need a better interior designer.

This was by far the best place in Scottsdale to grab a beer , meet with friends and have a great time in a wonderful atmosphere and listen to the best talent that local music had to offer.. The new 'Old Town' feels like a cheap nock off of a a strip town bar in Lauphlin trying to be a Vegas. All of the 'Old Town' character is gone. I'll still stop in for the music, but its only a matter of time before all the loyal talent fades away from this sad and pathetic, effortless recreation of an iconic establishment. Oh yea and my pbr got downsides as well.

It’s a classic old town favorite but it’s not much to write about. Small box but nice bartenders. No draft beer - only bottles and cans. No food (I think). Very limited inside seating but nice outside seating. Entertainment is a one piece band. Go for a beer and then move on. VictorB

Real drinks, made and severed by longtime staff. This is a "regular" spot, but everyone is friendly and welcoming to newcomers! The house bands are also fantastic!

What a great little place in Old Town Scottsdale, nice outside seating area with a great view of 1st Street. My dog hours everywhere with me and was welcomed by Jenny and the staff. Only canned beer but good selection of local brews. Heard the weekends are super busy so I'll go during week. Good times!

OK, well, better late than never. This is a review for Old Town Tavern's current location. OTT is one of my favorite bars in town. It's a very not-Scottsdale Scottsdale bar, which is to say that it's down-to-earth, unpretentious and not too pricey. It has an incredibly strong live music program, with music at least once a day and twice on weekends during the summer, and twice daily during high tourist season. I've found that people--regulars and visitors--are friendly and easy to talk to. OTT is closing in this location and will be reopening in the old Back Door space directly behind it. The space will be larger, but I expect the cold drinks, great music and good vibes will transfer well.

I need to make sure it's noted that any review before October 2025 doesn't represent the new location. I'm hopeful the new location has the quality and daily frequency of music that the old location had. The last day at the original, decades long, location is on 9/21/2025. The original location was known for live music every night of the week, it's classic brick walls and friendly staff.

A solid neighborhood bar if you're spending time in Scottsdale, but don't want to deal with huge crowds. What I like: Little live music sets. Their house red wine. The amiable bartenders. The narrow patio with comfortable seating. Prices feel surprisingly low considering how much you can get gouged for mediocre cocktails in this area. I'd call it a dive, but this is way WAY too clean to be called a dive bar. It's unassuming, unpretentious, and fun. I would return!

This place was next to the Back Door Lounge which was closed on Sunday, so we ended up here. The bar was small inside and had a live musician (much better than dead ones) so we sat outside at one of the many tables available. Luckily, they had fans with the misting water spray as it was after dark and still around 100 degrees. It was pleasant though. They had a lot of choices of alcohol and bottles/cans of beer. I chose a local wheat and it hit the spot after dinner. Uber pickup was a challenge as the Uber Driver ended up somewhere where we didn't know where he was, but we got that squared away and were off.

First time here and it was a lot of fun. It was pretty packed, but we were able to share a table and enjoy some drinks before dinner around the corner. Super fun atmophere.

I stopped here on a Thursday afternoon. Bartender greeted us and promptly filled our drink order. I had a Tito's and tonic. It was very nice sitting outside and enjoying my cocktail. Everyone (customers and staff) were extremely friendly. I would definitely return. This is a solid spot in Old Town.

We stopped here one hot in July '25 afternoon to listen to live music. I'm not sure but maybe the owner greeted us very nicely. The inside is small but they have seating outside with a good misting system and umbrellas for shade, we were quite comfortable. The server was friendly and attentive, the owner (?) spoke with us a couple of times and very welcoming.

Bar hopping w the fam and we wandered into here. Very small so we had to wait to snag a table. Busy for holiday break I would imagine? It was a weekday. But the staff was super friendly!

Came here on a girls trip to listen to live music. Half of us are "Trumpers", half of us are not. We are all Americans. Asked then and with tip to play "Proud to be an American" and the two singers said they would "ABSOLUTELY NOT PLAY THAT SONG" .... Then proceeded to have a commentary about us afterwards on the microphone. Despicable. Disgusting. UN- AMERICAN. We walked out immediately.

Bar with a small indoor seating area large outdoor area with 10 tables that seat four. Located along the walkway great vibe, piped music through the outdoor speakers. Staff is very friendly.

Kind of a let down. The waitress with no ass and fake boobs proceeded to tell her senior citizen posse that they should zip up their purses because there are "tourists" around here looking to steal, and looked directly at our table. Not sure what her problem was but we felt pretty unwelcome there and will not be returning.

Yikes! Location is great, but the staff is a let down. Stay clear of the old waitress with the botched plastic surgery and the no ass. Easy to spot. She called the locals 'tourists' and were rude to paying customers. Stereotyping while working is disrespectful, rude, unprofessional and a let down. We'd be more than happy to start you a gofundme to help you fix your face/body and bad attitude.

Cute little bar in Old Town. They had live music on a weekday which was fun. The service was great, I didn't have to wait too long to get drinks, gotta love that! It is small but has an outside seating area if you very claustrophobic inside!

It was a pretty ok place until we had a man (we think was the owner) chase us out asking us if we purchased drinks after we used their restroom. (We did all order 8 shots btw and left more than 20%) just very rude and unwelcoming. This was the first bar we went to and just left a bad taste.

Music twice a day, every day! Neighborhood bar with friendly staff and friendly patrons. Prices are reasonable and you can order food from a limited menu at the restaurant next door and they will deliver to you. Nice outdoor seating with fans, misters and umbrellas. Enjoyed it so much, we stopped by for 2 nights while we were in town.

Cool place to come and check out the local band scene. Lots of great artists play here, The interior usually gets pretty crowded even during the week, however there's a nice outdoors patio and some seating up at the second level for a small group. Along the pathway tables and chairs are also set up. Plentiful parking all around on the side streets.

The old town tavern reminded me of our little tavern place back home. Joseph was amazing and the music was unbelievable, so nice to have my music again. I think they were laughing because I bought them a beer, I balance going down to one knee but then I couldn't get back up, LOL. I love this place, I WOULD definitely recommend.

Great live music and patio. Beyond incredible security guard, Bobby, who went above and beyond to help our party. We had so much fun.

A tiny little pub in Old Town Scottsdale that has become one of my wife and I regular stops (and sometimes only stop if we get carried away). The bartenders here are great, and the bar always seems to be filled with a couple of regulars, which makes it set itself apart from the overall "touristy" feel that most of Old Town has. We live in the Happy Valley area of Phoenix, so we don't make it in quite enough to become regulars, but we still chat with bartenders every time we are in there and get great service just as if we were in there daily. If you're up for a little live music and some relaxing vibes, check out Old Town Tavern for a drink (or 4) when you're in Scottsdale next.

Went here last night for drinks. Super packed. Went upstairs and their security/buss boy comes up to us to tell my husband a joke. The joke is about what's better and Mexican or Spaniard. Me being Hispanic was very offended. I let him know as we were leaving that his racist joke was not appreciated and he shouldn't be doing that to customers. I can't believe in this day and age people are still so ignorant read the room.

Had Sunday Funday here recently and it's a great little place. Full bar, good drinks, fun crowd and live music. And Sara, the bartender, is awesome. After a couple hours there, I felt like she was my Bestie. The only downfall is, I don't think they serve food so grab something nearby before and/or after.

The bartender and bouncer acted absolutely trashed. The bartender was extremely creepy towards my friends and made unacceptable comments to us. The bouncer asked me for my ID when I got there (makes sense) then came back and asked again like an hour later. The bartender ignored me multiple times after telling me he'd come serve me. Seriously the worst experience ever.

What a fun place! Stopped in for a Bloody Mary and had an awesome experience. Jenny provided fabulous service. She sent us off with many recommendations for our time in Scottsdale. There is live music every day and the location is great. Definitely recommend! Prices are fair for the area.

Cool old school vibe. Came here one night for their live music. There was 2 musicians playing country rock in the main bar area. Everyone was seated and currently due to covid, no dancing is allowed. Music was fun. Very chill vibe. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and the bartender gave us refills on our soda. Service was very nice, efficient and fast. There were lots of TVs inside the bar with different sports channels on for all your game watching needs. Fun place to spend a few hours. Parking was very easy in the adjacent lot.

What a great place. Service is super friendly and the staff is very attentive. Fancy beer connoisseurs may not be a fan as I don't believe they have anything on tap. Doesn't stop us from aving a good time. Live music, 2 stories and the people are a blast. Definately a great place for people watching as well. A good time with good friends.

Awful experience!! I went here on a busy Saturday night ordered drinks and told the bartender I did not want to open a tab. I was received with a receipt book without my card in it. I then explained to the bartender again that I wanted to keep my tab closed and I was told that he gave my card back and to check my pockets. When I told him I received an empty receipt book he looked for 2 minutes and then told me they lose 4-5 cards a night and that he would look when he closed. Before leaving the bar I gave them my number so they could call/text if my card was found and then I was told by the other bartender to "grow up". I still have received no call and now I have to get a new card. I would not recommend going here unless you want to be one of the 4-5 patrons a night that has their card lost and you are grown up enough to deal with it!

Best spot in old Town Scottsdale, owner Paul rocks it with his no bulls*it attitude. Jenny, Barb, Michael, Derek and Big Joe make it a place worth going to. Great music, great fun.

Great bar great location great music all day long. Love live music and watching bands. They don't mind if you bring in food.

Only stopped in for one drink, but found ourselves in their outdoor patio for quite a while. The inside space isn't huge but there's tons of outdoor seating, so that's great, unless you want to see the live musicians performing inside. Another staff person checked on us white we were outside and, at our request, gave us recommendations for two other local bars ro check out, since we were on foot. Loved the scene here, and appreciated the terrific recs as well!

I only post reviews when I have an absolutely god awful experience. There is a security guy at this Old Town Tavern who actually resembles a weasel - who went out of his way to insist I was drunk. I'd had one beer! This guy had a hard on for me for no reason at all and I can't be the first to complain about this punk. He's lucky I wasn't ten yrs younger or I might have grabbed him by the ponytail and slapped him around a little. Entirely too aggressive with patrons and the poor guy I guess never got hugged by his mommy as a child..

Immediate bartender service, indoor and outdoor seating, live music every night and a clean 1 toilet restroom. Easy parking. Discovered Arcadia cucumber vodka added to soda, sweet enough and flavorful enough to not need lime or sprite/7up. Also, their pineapple margarita made with Hornitos was very adequate beyond. Not syrupy. I learned a new drink and appreciated a new way to enjoy a classic!

Came in to enjoy an afternoon beer with some out of town family at my favorite watering hole. If you haven't stopped by this little gem, do yourself a favor and grab a cold one. The staff is always super friendly, and the fellow patrons are fun.

Came here with my girl friends for a quick drink on New Year's Eve in the afternoon after the wine tasting room next door (su Vino) didn't give us any service for 20 minutes. Despite preparing for NYE celebrations, this place offered amazing live music by a talented guitar player/singer. We got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Nevada day. Our incredible waitress (I think her name was Tori) suggested we get mocha martinis and they did not disappoint!! They were delicious and did the trick and then some. Tori was sweet warm and bubbly and gave us great dinner suggestions. She was so fun and added to our experience. So glad we bumped into this place.

Ambiance and music is wonderful. Love the vibe there. No food but there is the ability to order from next door. Great choice of music every single time we visit!

Meh - I've experienced better bars, especially in old town. I know this is an iconic place to be in old town, but there are so many better options. We stopped here on a Saturday night because they have live music on weekends and a cozy rooftop patio. Your beverage options here are bottled beer or cocktails, no food. We ordered our drinks and found a corner to squeeze into to listen to music. The music wasn't bad! The bartender wasn't that friendly. The crowd here was mostly retired and here to dance. The place wasn't that clean and most people were smoking on the patio.

A couple weeks ago me and my BLIND friend with his seeing-eye dog stopped by here for some drinks. After a bit an employee told us we weren't allowed to have any dogs there and we had to leave. We protested a bit but he said it came from the owner and we had to comply. We asked if we could finish our beers before we left and he said sure. A couple minutes later the owner came out angry as hell telling us to get the hell out of there. We told him your employee said we could finish our beers and he said no, get the hell out of here. We explained that our friend was BLIND but he didn't care, he was cussing and screaming and I thought he was going to hit me. So we took off with unfinished drinks. Don't support this place, he could care less about disabled people and is a total ass.

I have been coming to OTT for years. Love the music and feel. Went on Jan 22 around 4:00pm. Was meeting a business associate. There was a bunch of empty tables but I took a 2 top in the back away from the music. Went to the bar and got a beer ( one server was busy). My associate came at 4:15 and ordered a coke. We got down to business and was turning down a second drink order until we were finished. However the gentleman running the place ( Bill?) was completely impatient . He said we were taking up space of paying customers. He was so rude ( I have never had that happen to me anywhere) , that we finished and left. I was embarrassed for my associate by the horrible treatment.

They don't serve food but they have great live music to listen to. Staff and patrons were so friendly. I'm looking forward to going back again.

If you're a big fan of Moscow Mules like me, OTT makes a mean one!! I love coming to OTT for a casual Friday night drink with friends. They have live music on weekends and their cozy rooftop patio makes a great celebration spot! They don't serve food though so definitely eat beforehand!! My friends threw me a surprise birthday celebration on the rooftop patio and they brought pizza & cake so that's always an option!

Great spot for cold drinks and live music. No beer on tap but great selection with chilled glasses. Grab a table along the walkway and enjoy all this place has to offer. Great vibe and owner.
