Best Restaurants in New Hope, Pennsylvania | Eater Philly

"The historic 150-year-old church that’s home to Oldestone Steakhouse is incredible to look at, with high ceilings, pastel lighting, and art on each landing of the bi-level space. But the menu is just as interesting, with multiple steaks such as porterhouse, strip, and rib-eyes; and twin lobster tails stuffed with crab meat. Don’t forget about the chef’s table option, which includes four courses, wine pairings and a welcome glass of prosecco." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Where To Go That’s Like Parc But Isn’t Actually Parc - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Like Parc, this Rittenhouse steakhouse fully commits to the low-lit, vintage theme. You’ll see groups unironically celebrating ladies' night and families sharing oysters Rockefeller while they clap for the piano player. It all adds up to a dining experience that makes you feel like you’re outside of Philadelphia and possibly time itself." - candis mclean, alison kessler

However, don’t discount the other steak offerings at this elegant Bucks County restaurant with the prime New York strip, rib eye filet, and porterhouse for two all being standout steak options as well. I visited last week with my husband for the first time. We were celebrating his birthday and were so pleased! We stumbled upon this place and were excited to try it, just based off of how unique it looked. I ordered the crab cakes, which were amazing! The service was great, everyone was super friendly and it was an all around great experience. We would absolutely love to come back again! So unique. Nothing like it!

Google
Not bad but not worth the price. Steak was mediocre and the fries I would compare to McDonald's. Spinach dip was 10/10 though. Waiter asked if we were ready and we weren't. She walked away and talked to someone at the bar for nearly 20 mins. We only needed top 3 minutes. There's better places in the area for HALF the price

My wife and I stopped in yesterday afternoon and had an awesome time. The happy hour appetizer specials were fantastic, we had the mini charcuterie board and oysters on the half shell. The French martini was terrific and the gin and tonic hit the spot after an afternoon of strolling around New Hope. Our Bartender Brandon was amazing attentive skillful friendly and courteous. I forget the managers name (knew that was a risk) but he showed us around the upstairs and the place was absolutely stunning. We’ll be back and highly recommend that you give yourself a very special treat and go there yourself.

We visited on Saturday for my birthday. Terrific atmosphere and delicious food. The sweet potato souflee was spectacular! Loved all the stained glass windows and the huge painting (we ate in the dining room upstairs) Service was spectacular. Can’t wait to visit again! Thanks for the great experience.

We went here on a date night and were super impressed. Very cool building from the outside, but the upstairs main dining room was stunning. We had a medium rare filet which was beautifully seared in the outside and cooked perfectly inside. My salmon was cooked house temperature, which was a little more done than I'd prefer, but shame on me for forgetting to specify my temp. Cocktails were great. It was a the perfect beginning to our night French onion soup was bomb, as was the spinach dip .

Wow! What a great choice for a nice Christmas dining experience!! My wife always wanted to dine here. First is the decor. Well decorated for Christmas. Such a beautiful converted old church into a restaurant. We have had drinks in the bar area on the 1st. floor here, some years back and loved it. So we made our dinner reservations for Christmas night 2024. We were directed to the upstairs dining room. It was gorgeous! The atmosphere, the decorations. As we were being seated, we noticed our jingle bell on a lanyard at our beautiful place settings. Great touch! As was the Christmas music playing in the background. The entire staff was friendly from our hostess (who also can check in your coats) to our servers Michael & Max. Michael & Max were excellent. They were very attentive to any of our needs. They were very friendly & professional. Michael gave us the best suggestions for our meals & dessert. The steaks he suggested were excellent. He was so knowledgeable of the differences of how they were prepared. They came prepared perfectly. The sides we ordered were great. I loved the sautéed spinach & mashed potatoes. Delicious. A garlic hint in both. I figured I may finish my 20 oz. steak, but I was surprised to see my wife finish hers. It was that good. The dessert was a 24 Ct. (Carrot) Cake. Wow! It tasted delicious. The icing drizzled across it just made it perfect. Our compliments to the Chef & The Baker!!! Thanks so much to Michael, Max & the entire staff. I worked a job for years that took me away from family & friends at Christmas time. We appreciate you being there so my wife and I (and we could see many of other people seated around us) have a wonderful (Christmas) dining experience. Looking forward to a future return visit.

Google
UPDATE: dinner in 4/26/25 was absolutely exceptional. Freddie was our server and the service was fantastic. Steaks were cooked perfectly. I've seen some of the negative reviews. As to slow service, this is definitely not a fast casual restaurant. The service is exceptional if you enjoy relaxing over an incredible meal. Corey and Mason were an exceptional team who waited on us. They got the perfect balance right of not being intrusive but never having to look for them. We had calamari and the meatballs with Alfredo sauce. Calamari was cooked perfectly and was very light. The meatballs were incredibly tender and the light Alfredo sauce with a little melted Parmesan cheese was excellent. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The potato casserole and brussel sprouts were excellent sides. Creme brulee was excellent and the real whipped cream in the Irish coffee was a nice touch. Everything we ordered came out piping hot. Bartender made a perfect Vesper martini as well. We were at our table for a little more than two hours, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back, for sure!

Google
Food was delicious definitely had a diverse menu. The artistry in the architecture of the Old church is such a great touch to the atmosphere. The steak was great I definitely recommend to my beef lovers. Surf and turf for those who don’t mind spending a little more.

Yelp
it was a lazy Sunday afternoon in New Hope and we stopped into the Oldstone for a glass of Prosecco and some dessert. I left after a full tour from Heath, the GM, a delicious chocolate chip cookie bake and a promise to return. I look forward to returning at night, having dinner upstairs next to the altar of this old renovated church. A beautiful room and I can only imagine what it looks like going full tilt. As a restaurant professional myself, I thought that the warm welcome, delicious food and friendly atmosphere shows what a well run business the Oldstone a steakhouse is. well done!

Yelp
Went without reservations on a Saturday night and had no problem snagging a seat in the bar area. Had a large selection of Irish whiskey and made an excellent dirty martini. Service was friendly and the couple apps we got arrived quickly. We got a half dozen oysters and the calamari. Calamari alone would have been worth a return trip! Just a note that there is an elevator inside, but guessing the accessible entrance must be around the side.

Yelp
We were visiting new hope & staying next door at the Logan inn. I had read reviews prior to coming in yelp & wanted to try. I called same day for reservations & they were able to accommodate 4 adults 2 children 1 child on high chair. Service was great & our waitress was very friendly. She made great recommendations. My husband and I decided to split so I got the crab cakes & he got the cowboy rib eye 20oz! Plenty of food. We also had a baked potato loaded on side & my crab came with asparagus. The dirty martini was delicious also with blue cheese stuffed olives. Beautiful inside with high ceilings & decor is old School church (inside an old church) I would definitely go back.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! I truly don't understand the lower ratings. Our service, first and foremost, was excellent. Upon check-in, we were offered coat check, then escorted right away to our table upstairs. We were then immediately greeted by one of our two (2) servers, who offered us complimentary champagne for our anniversary. The service was attentive all evening, never letting our water or wine glasses run half full. As for food, everything was great - starting with the complimentary bread (though the odd # of pieces was a little strange.) We had one half dozen of oysters, which our server described exactly. Our steaks were perfectly cooked/as ordered, and were flavorful, as were our sides (Brussels/bacon and truffle parm fries - get both!) My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the cook on my lobster tail- it was slightly undercooked and the old bay seasoning was not necessary / should've been optional. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by especially given the other reviews. The food was close to perfect and the service was excellent from start to finish. The space (converted church) was also interesting and unique! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Disappointing Experience at Oldestone Steakhouse in New Hope Pa. I had high hopes for our visit, especially after hearing great things about this place. Mason, our server, was fantastic, and the Gothic decor was stunning. We started with oysters and the Old Fashioned Bacon appetizer, both of which were excellent--especially the bacon! We splurged on the $320 tomahawk ribeye special, which came with two lobster tails, shrimp, cornbread, fingerling potatoes, and a side. While the steak was great, the lobster tail was tasty, the shrimp was good , and the cream spinach and fingerling potatoes were pretty average. Here's where everything fell apart: we asked for our leftovers to be packaged up . When we got our to-go boxes, we were shocked to find that they only included the steak and a few fingerling potatoes and the cornbread . Our one remaining lobster tail and several shrimp were missing! Along with the bone for the tomahawk steak . Maybe we should've asked for it to be packaged up, but we didn't think we had to . It feels like they just tossed our leftovers instead of boxing them up. We paid a lot for that meal, and it's unacceptable to not receive the leftover food we ordered. I expected better attention to detail when packing our food, especially for such a high-priced meal. This experience has left a sour taste, and I really feel like we were taken advantage of. I hope they address this issue because it's a shame when a great atmosphere and service are overshadowed by poor follow-through. Not sure if I'd return after this.

Yelp
We had dinner here while visiting New Hope, PA. It's a restaurant located in an old church although there were no religious themes - other than the base architecture. The wine-by-glass selection was decent. Based on the steak prices, this a higher-end restaurant. My wife ordered the smallest cut as she can only eat some much - a 12ox filet mignon if I recall. She enjoyed it. I was going to order a 16oz NY strip steak which was $65. The waiter suggested the "Butcher's Cut' - also a strip steak. I don't recall the differentiation, but it wasn't much. He didn't mention the price and I didn't ask. I was a bit surprised to see a $95 charge for it on the bill. Other than that, the service was excellent. We would return should we be in the area again.

Yelp
Multi level restaurant in an old church, so lots of steps to go between different rooms/bars. In the upper level, the centerpiece is the large mural. Bar staff were great and able to make some high tier rare cocktails, which is always appreciated. Ribeye was cooked nicely and a decent quality cut. Family style sides were okay. Waitstaff all around great. Was a decent experience. Thanks

Yelp
Great food great service had a great time because of the quality of the food. It was fresh and delicious and the service was very hospitable without being too overbearing. We will definitely be coming back again. The oysters and the broccolini were very good. The rib eye was delicious. Rebecca our server was great.

Yelp
This place has a cool concept. Turning a old church into a restaurant. It's beautiful inside and out but we did not have a great experience. - Slow service. It took us a while to get anything, even the check so we had to skip out on dessert which is a shame since we were there celebrating a birthday. - Temperature of the steak: we ordered medium rare but the steak was more rare than medium rare. It was hard for us to tell the server since he didn't come back for a long time - Sea scallop: the scallops were good but the accompaniments were confusing. Wasn't sure if I was eating a risotto or mash potato and my snap peas were basically raw. - Crab Cheesecake: it wasn't anything great but a blend crab cake. Wasn't something worth getting

Yelp
The highlight of the evening was the table bread and the beet salad. It should have gone up from there, but it didn't. I had the cowboy ribeye medium rare... which came out medium well would have liked to return it but my waiter never came back. So I ate it slowly because I was so hungry. The brussel sprouts were good too. The fries were tasty but nothing earth shattering. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. From the colors to the beautiful details. I like what they have done to this old church! Probably the most people they've had is it. I'm disappointed because when you spend almost $300 for a meal, you should come away with lasting memories. Some of the food was good but during salad serving, the waiter spilled my entire wine. I had told him I would like an additional glass when my steak came out but he only replaced the wine he spilled. they just didn't step it up and the meal went down from there.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary dinner on a Saturday night with reservations. We were late but it wasn't a problem. They saved the best table in the house for us. The seating was a loveseat couch so we got to sit beside each other, which we prefer. The Dining Room is striking and the painting is enormous. The drinks and food on the new menu are great. I had the Lychee Empress and I recommend it. My husband was disappointed there wasn't any beer on draft. We had the Crab Cheese Cake and a dozen oysters. The crab dish was so good that we want to try and recreate it at home. The oysters were standard. The house made mignonette with brine was nice. My scallops were perfect. The filet mignon is very nice. The sides are just OK - on the safe side. The service is good. It was a fantastic meal. The ambiance could use fine tuning to take the experience to the next level. The lighting can be lower. The sconces are enough ambient light, they can dim the chandeliers, which I wish were art deco instead of contemporary to match the sconces. The dining room / church can afford a darker coat of paint. The space can afford it and the gold accents would pop much more. The music wasn't on most of our meal. When it was, it was really nice. Any harmonic house music would fit the mood. We'll be back but Logan's Inn next door looked really nice. There sure is a lot of competition in New Hope. Congrats to the new owners. We'll see you again soon.

Yelp
We have a wonderful evening at the Oldestone tonight. Drinks were exceptionally well made, the food was delicious and the desserts were on point. Between the four of us, we had 3 filets and 1 dry aged cowboy steak with sweet potato souflei, spinach and brussel sprouts for apps. The flour less chocolate cake and pumpkin ice cream finished us off. Oh, that and rattlesnake shots- so good! Everything was really very good and our waitress was so helpful. I think her name was Rebecca? We will be back!

Yelp
how rude of them to turn god's palace into a one star steak house LMAO shoulda went to long horn came for my 26th birthday! here's my honest review! (had to send my steak back lol and check out the pics of how it came back) food was SPECTACULAR other than my porthoise, service for the price on the other hand :/ water cups were empty & needed ask to be refilled. had to ask for refills on drinks. (we had the earliest reservation so not many tables) shared servers and they would walk away before i was even done with my sentence to be honest made me really upset and the reason for my low review. but if you don't mind rude servers or a feeling like they don't care about you, i'd recommend this place because the food was DELICIOUS!! 1. oysters 2. iceberg wedges (more bleu cheese) 3. goat cheese balls (def get if u like goat cheese) (warm, creamy, crunchy with the honey on top perfect) a blessing from the gods 4. brussel sprouts 5. porter house (asked medium came out as medium rare) for the price $160 i'm appalled. had to send it back. got a ribeye still medium rare to me. included a picture for you to judge yourself. made me laugh so loud idk i'm really upset . mashed potatoes (my fav) are cold. waiters haven't checked up on us since they dropped the original food & don't get me wrong we had a horrible experience but i used to waitress, a sweet waitress could make up for everything. i'm gunna stop yappin and try to have a better night to be honest will never come again. manager did make it right but it's my bday so like there's no comin back from that i'm already upset :( hopefully yankees will win game 3 of the series and it'll cheer me up lmao

Yelp
We had a great valentines anniversary dinner at salt house! We had shrimp cocktail and the gnocchi as appetizers then we shared the salmon. The shrimp were huge and delicious the salmon was moist and tasty gnocchi was okay a little too cheesy for me. To Drink we had a bottle of wine which was great our server was Mason and he was wonderful! They even took a photo of us and printed it for us. We enjoyed everything. Afterwards we went to the bar which was so cute and had some martinis. They had a great selection of liquor and we splurged on some expensive shots. I had an old fashioned and my fiancé had a tiramisu martini both were delicious the bartender was friendly once we got him to talk but seemed pretty busy beforehand don't recall if we got his name.

Yelp
Poor man's version of Peter Lugers. Service is poor, waiters prefer heavily some customers over others, seating is one step above an army barracks. As to the food, blue cheese wedge could use--blue cheese. Filler Mignone ok. Mushrooms were solid. Scallops, ok.

Yelp
They took Marsha Browns (previous, famous restaurant) slapped lipstick on the building and called themselves a steakhouse. Don't know what changed from a month ago, but the place has slid, screaming, downhill. Over priced, pretentious, poorly executed food and it's such a shame. Service could be better, everyone seems so dissatisfied in their roll. They won us back this past year and now we are sad to finally say goodbye once and for all. Save your money and go to any of the dozens of restaurants in the area, won't be any worse than this place has become once again.

Carl V.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and menu. The menu had a wide variety steaks and seafood to choose from. The bar menu also had a wide variety of specialty drinks and whiskeys. My son and I each got a 10 ounce fillet that was cooked to perfection. My wife chose salmon with a Caesar salad which was also very good. Our server Andrew was exceptional. We had a great time there. The only down side it was extremely expensive. For our party of 3 it was over $400. Buyer beware, they charge you for ice $3 per drink.

Yelp
Oldestone is a really cool looking spot. That's where the compliments end unfortunately because our meal was a bit of a disaster. It started when our server forgot one of the wedge salads we ordered as a first course. No big deal, it happens. But then things started to go downhill fast. No fewer than 4 times did someone try to run food to our table that we hadn't ordered. An appetizer, then a desert (we hadn't even gotten our entrees yet), then another appetizer, then an entree that nobody at our table ordered. Again, fine it happens I guess. Server spilled wine on the table. A little bit of a vibe killer but sure, it happens. Then came our entrees. Two members of our group ordered the same chefs special for dinner so we were confused when they were delivered two totally different steaks/sides. When we asked the server, he wasn't able to tell us which of the two was correct. So instead, he grabbed both and brought them back into the kitchen to clarify. The table next to us mentioned that it looked like something that they had ordered and that it's possible it was brought to the wrong table. A few minutes later our server came back with the correct steak and told the other member of our group he would go fire the other steak special. It was then we all realized we hadn't been given steak knives so we asked for some. Then our server just, disappeared for a bit. We forged ahead using our butter knives until he returned with the correct steak. We again asked for steak knives, you know, at the steakhouse. He would be right back he assured us. Away again he went. He didn't come back for a bit so we kept doing what we could with the butter knives. We cut into the corrected steak that was delivered and it was incredibly rare, not the medium rare that was ordered, which was consistent with trying to sear it quickly and get it on the table ASAP (picture here in case I am being crazy about it). Our server returned to ask us how everything was. We reminded him, for the third time after our steaks were delivered to our table at this steak house that we needed steak knives and told him that the already delayed steak was underdone. The table seated next to us had gotten up and left before their entrees at this point since they had been there for two hours. We also decided to just call it a night and told them not to bother throwing it back on the grill (since it was already 20 minutes behind the rest of our table, who were finished or over it at this point) and just asked for the check so we could get out of there. As for the other food, my ribeye was actually pretty decent, and the house steak sauce was tasty. The brussel sprout side was good too. The rest was a bit shocking to be honest. Absolutely skip the overly acidic Bernaise sauce, undercooked baked potato (how on earth do you mess up a baked potato), and the tomato and (tough) mozzarella. Don't do the cooked to death pork chop either. All of this would be all or mostly forgivable were they not charging prices consistent with some of the far superior Philly steakhouses. It felt like the first night they had ever been open. The quality and service for what they are charging were baffling. It's possible we got them on an off night but we won't be back to see if that was the case.

Yelp
Bland salty food, below average service and overpriced Only thing going for it is the space itself

Yelp
We decided to try the "new" restaurant. This is the first time we went here since they changed their name from Marcia Brown to Old Stone Church. The interior looks pretty much the same which is fantastic. We love the painting on the wall and the general decorum of the restaurant. The atmosphere is very romantic and this is a prime location for a date night with the wife. The server was very attentive and very quick for a high end steak house. She was right there when you needed her. My only very small complaint is that she kind of leaned over my shoulder when I was looking at the wine list. I prefer to have some time to review and talk it over with my wife but this was okay and the server was just trying to help. The wine list is on the pricy side but I suppose you can expect that in this type of establishment. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. This is a 20 ounce cut of beef. It was great. they cooked it rare just as I ordered. It was very tasty and cooked perfectly just what you would expect from a high end steak house. It was fantastic. I had the creamed spinach as a side. Again, it was fantastic with melted cheese on the top. I have one word for the food Yum! The bottom line is that this is a fantastic representation of a high end steak house. I would eat here every night of the week if I could. This one gets 4 Siberian husky paws up (I would give it 5 but God does not make Huskies that way). Run do not walk to this restaurant in the beautiful New Hope community.

Yelp
We stopped in today for Happy Hour! Was my first time here since they had a taken over from Marsha Browns, which I adored. I wasn't loving the way they closed off the open concept that MB had, but the hostess was lovely and kindly pointed us to the bar. The decor was modern, our bar tender Jodi had a friendly smile and was super sweet. They did leave the beautiful stained glass windows up, which made me feel good! Jodi served an amazing dirty martini and gladly took our order with a smile. We were super excited to see $2 oysters & ordered them before anything, no need to miss the timing on those! They were served ice cold on a beautiful platter with a flower & wrapped lemon (just how I like it) they were briny, sweet & delicious, I debated on ordering more, decided to eat what was coming up the pipe & said we could always get more!! We had butcher skewers, which were steak tips, onions & peppers on skewers, & surf & turf sliders; we couldn't decide which we liked better, the bacon, roasted tomato aioli & shishito peppers or the crab cake, pickled onion, lettuce & tomato one? They both were yummy! Again leaving us with the thought of; hmmm do we order more? I had my first dirty martini's of the summer (although it was Labor Day!!) and they were perfectly chilled with 3 meaty olives in both, my friend stuck to Stella since it was a scorcher on a day that was still 91 at 5:00pm. We will absolutely be back. We did take a look at their dinner menu, looks fabulous. But that happy hour menu is on point for sure!! Thanks Jodi for taking care of us!!

Yelp
In New Hope for some Christmas Cheer and after trying to get into several fully packed places we finally were able to swing into Oldestone, but as a last resort. There were no reservations available in the main dining room upstairs but the hostess was kind enough to tell us of their bar / lunch menu offered downstairs which was a godsend to say the least. Place is an old Church with main upstairs dining area being absolutely gorgeous. Downstairs a very modern bar with side table & high tops as we grabbed one for our late lunch. Server was very nice and tried to be efficient but they were busy so I give her a bit of a pass. Drinks were ordered and prices for them are $$$ but a generous pour on a glass of wine with plenty of options. 4 of us split two salads. CHOPPED SALAD Romaine, asparagus, eggs, bacon bits, red onions, palm hearts, bleu cheese crumbles, and ranch dressing. $16.00 very well presented and split in the back already. Quite tasty but the ranch dressing was a bit bland. CLASSIC WEDGE cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, candied bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, house made ranch dressing $14.00. Also split in the back was not as good as the chopped and again the RANCH was weak. Order of Shrimp Cocktail 5 for 18.00 served on ice. Excellent fresh cold shrimp that snapped. Cocktail sauce was good, though the horseradish on side kicked it to the next level. Unfortunately, I had to ask for the horseradish 3 times. Onto Entrees. We again both split the STEAK FRITES 10-ounce prime NY strip steak, served with French fries $27.00 Both orders cooked to perfection and fries were HOT and tasty. Steak was excellent, and a tremendous value. Tower of Onions rings were outstanding. No desert of coffee's and we rolled out with a full belly and very satisfied with the entire meal. I think the "LOUNGE MENU" is the way to go and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Yelp
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to eat here but the cocktails were absolutely fantastic! We had the smoked old fashions and tried several others as well, all just as good, and just as artistically presented. The venue was absolutely stunning, the saved remnants from when it used to be a church creating a staggering display when you first walk in and keeping your attention with the beautiful detail. They had a live pianist who played beautifully and the staff were extremely nice and attentive.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant!!! The ambiance is amazing and the food and drinks never let's you down. While your there say hi to Mary (one of the best bartenders). She is a great representation of the restaurant an inclusive and welcoming environment. Trust me you will remember this restaurant. 10 out of 10 for me. So try it out and thank me later.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time here. The first time was phenomenal. Tonight there was an issue with our meals, our apps came out quickly, but they forgot to put the meal ticket. We waited over an hour. They offered the 3 of us, free dessert, we only ordered 2. They gave us the check prior. Only one of the desserts came out and no one came to back to check on us. They waitress ignored us when we tried to get their attention.

Yelp
First time being here since they changed owners from the old Marsha Browns. Atmosphere is still great. We usually come during Christmas every year and get our jingle bell necklace. For those that remember that, the new owners don't do This. Food was just ok. Desert was the best part. Prices were high.

Yelp
First thing first, you notice the incredible entrance way that leads into an incredible ambiance of luxury decor and bar. I ordered the meat board and a side of brussels and the food was just melting in mouth. Our server was so sweet and veTy attentive! This is a must go to in New Hope.

Yelp
One of the fancier places in New Hope, PA and it's in an old church so the aesthetic is *fancier* than most of the surrounding restaurants. I wasn't a huge fan of the ambience because there was a huge mural of Christianity staring down on us and they also had purple lights. Our main server was very well-versed and skilled, but there were 3-4 associated helpers to clear dishes in between the server (I guess they were busboys?) but they did not understand etiquette at all. My husband was literally drinking soup out of a bowl and the busboy tried to take it as he was taking a spoonful... like catch a hint. We had a table of 6 and ordered: -Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes ($36) -Lobster Bisque Soup ($12) -French Onion Soup ($10) -Thick-Cut Bacon (basically pork belly, $16) -Prime Porterhouse for 2 42 oz ($160) + Oscar Style ($22) -Prime Tomahawk for 2 38 oz ($146) -Loaded Mashed Potatoes ($12) -Creamed Spinach ($12) Our bill was expensive, but I was surprised it was just as expensive as any steakhouse in a big city. Everything is USDA Prime FYI.

Yelp
Very good steakhouse, some of the best cooked cuts of meat that I've had in the area, and I've enjoyed their specials, especially their more inventive salads. We had a good, maybe not outstanding time there. The ambiance is interesting; it's a bit too vacuous and overwhelming for me in some ways, but it felt better once the evening went on, we imbibed our drinks, and the house became packed. I was impressed by the manager, who seemed to enjoy a good rapport with his staff and checked on each of the tables without being obsequious about it. Our drinks arrived late, as my wine (a special of the night) took a very long time to be served, but it was worth the wait, as it had a deep and resonate body. Our appetizers were excellent, especially the oysters, and my steak, a petit filet mignon was cooked to perfect and I ordered two sides to provide some substance, otherwise, it would've looked lonely on its formidable plate. My dining partners shared a red velvet cake for dessert, which they gave good reviews although one mentioned it had tasted as though it sat in the fridge for a bit too long which left a bad proverbial taste in my mouth. We arrived during the holiday season, so they had decorated the place seasonably and left little bells at each person's seat, which was a pleasant touch and provided a warming ambiance to the establishment. Will go again.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant because it was a great restaurant some 8 years ago when visiting New Hope. . . . . .Unfortunately, not any more! I am writing this review because I felt ripped off - which is rare. Overpriced and sub par food. We ordered drink specials ($16 each?!?). which were just OK. They charged for water. . . .$6 for plain water! 4 pan seared scallops on some bland polenta like mass was $44!! It was listed at 'MP' on the menu. But $44 for 4 scallops?!? My dinner mate ordered salmon- overcooked.....but they charged $22 extra for Oscar style. . . .$22?!? The creamed spinach was out of a can or frozen ... and they didn't give you much. The bill for 4 drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 entrees with 2 shared sides with no dessert was $205. There are many, many great places to go in New Hope. . . .we left Goldstone and went back to Odetts where we had drinks before and got amazing desserts. Bottom line - bas food and way over priced to sit in a dark, loud room.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Old Stone Steakhouse, and the food was great. Our waiter, Corey, was wonderful. He provided us with great information on some of the food recommendations. This restaurant was converted from a church into a beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere was great. The inside of the restaurant looked beautiful, nice, quiet. There is upstairs seating and the bar downstairs. We will visit again.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch and sat at the bar, which was absolutely gorgeous. The bartender was fabulous and attentive. The cocktails, entrees and service were all spectacular.

Yelp
Oldestone has a tough job replacing Marsha's. The food, ambiance, staff and service were spectacular. Tonight we went there for the first time, there wasn't a single aspect I'd say was improved upon. I ordered a Manhattan and it came the color of a watered down Ice tea. The nystrip wasn't appropriately trimmed, and came at the wrong temp. It also wasn't seasoned. I asked if the sides were family style, was told yes and needless to say the 5 broccolini sprigs appeared to be a single serving. The updated decor is soulless, staff didn't know the menu or beer list... when I ordered a Pellegrino, and everyone else had water ... he seemed to instantly forget and fill everyone's still with my sparkling. Do yourself a favor and go to Any of the other in town gems. No salt on table was the last laughable flub.

Yelp
Everyone who works there acts like they would rather be somewhere else instead. It shows in both the service and the food. You will never see me eat here again. We sat at a high top next to the bar expecting to have drinks, an appetizer & light dinner. As soon as I asked about "happy hour" pricing, our server lost interest. She brought our drinks, (which were good) , then waiting 40 min for the app to arrive. Could not get her attention. She then brought our check without asking if we wanted to order. Horrible experience, we'll visit again when next owner takes over, which probably won't be long

Yelp
Met friends at Oldestone last night to listen to the music in the bar area and order dinner. The music was great, but the service and the food were so below average and incredibly overpriced. I ordered a burger which was $22.00 with absolutely nothing else on the large white plate but a burger! My friend ordered the short ribs, but there were no bones and it looked like a piece of overcooked steak with no marbling whatsoever. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc at the bartenders suggestion. She didn't tell me the price prior to serving it to me and when I got the bill it was $28.00 a glass! I nearly fell off my chair. To top it off the valet parking is a flat $20.00 (which used to be $10) plus a tip. I used to love going to Marsha Brown's, this is definitely not the same service or food. Once the music stopped at 9:30, the bar emptied out, on a Saturday night!

Yelp
I wish my husband had read the reviews before he had my birthday here. He reserved the private room. The service was atrocious. Appetizers for the table? No plates. Ask for plates? Bread plates with the excuse that I don't work downstairs so I don't know where they are. Drinks? They sure lost a lot of money because you couldn't find them to get one. One of the servers thought it was funny to play "you get a fork and you get a fork". This was supposed to be an elegant surprise party for me and I actually had to go out of the room and tell them that we are having a terrible time in here and they are ruining my birthday. I felt so bad for my husband who wanted it to be perfect. Oh yes and the food??? Whatever. Just don't.

Yelp
Amazing experience! The food was fantastic and so were the drinks! Such a cool ambiance especially dining inside an old church. Great place for a date night!

Yelp
Wow what an enormous disappointment at Oldestone for my son's birthday dinner. My son got the 10 oz filet and mashed potatoes. They were fine. I got the steakhouse salad which was poorly executed. Three very tiny very thin slices of beef tenderloin - two of the were 100 fat and the third was like leather. And a salad portion that was like a side salad not an entree salad. My girlfriend wanted salmon. She was going to order the regular salmon dish on the menu but we were told of a salmon special: an 8 oz filet of wild caught king salmon! Well it arrives and I wish I had a scale. If that tiny piece of salmon was 3oz I would be surprised. And horribly overcooked probably because it was so tiny. All this and two glasses of wine plus tip for $230. No more. Honestly I would avoid. The attraction here is the building only not the food. There are way too many other places nearby where you'd get a better meal and a better value.

Yelp
Who isn't going to love an old church converted to a restaurant and bar? The service is fantastic. The drinks conceived and served by Mary are exceptional. Thank you Mary! Your drinks are heavenly!

Yelp
First impressions of the re-done interior were that there were definitely upgrades, but the general layout was the same as Marsha's. The couches are no longer in the dining area, but were moved to the loft Jazz lounge. Ambiance and interior would garner 4 stars from me. Food We ordered: A dozen oysters of 3 varieties (4 stars)- The highlight of the meal French Onion Soup (3 stars)- very solid and hot Lobster Bisque (1 star) - gritty and cold 8 and 12 oz filets (3 stars)- Decent, but incredibly overpriced for what you get; also lukewarm Twice Baked potato (1 star) - tasteless and cold Cream of Spinach (2 stars) - lukewarm and so so Key Lime Tart (3 stars)- Incredibly small All of the food took a VERY long time and every one of the hot items were lukewarm to room temperature. Dont mind the dinner taking time, but expected hot items when served. Drinks The Gaspar (4 stars). - very cool smoked drink The Sour (2 stars) Moscato (3 stars) Service Our waiter was polite, informed and mostly on point. It was dinner to celebrate our Anniversary and they did sprinkle the table with rose petals, which was a nice touch(3 stars) We used Valet because it was raining and while they were fast to retrieve our car, they were actually too fast. Whipping the car onto Main St, NOT opening the door for my wife was weird, and just felt a but careless (2 stars) It pains me to say this, but I do not recommend going here. The price was exorbitant for what you got in terms of food and service. The space is amazing, but that just isn't enough to continue coming back.

Yelp
A church turned restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere. On the second floor there is a beautiful mural, blue mood lights, a grand staircase and lots of stained glass. [1] Scallops with romanesco broccoli and coconut rice: This was a perfect dinner portion. The romanesco broccoli was super unique and a cool texture. [2] Rose shaped butter: I thought this extra detail with dinner was beautiful. [3] Lobster bisque: I love when I get dinner and a show! The presentation with this lobster bisque made it so much better. [4] Oysters: A special on the night of our visit, these oysters were fresh and fairly priced. A great start to our meal!

Yelp
Went to the bar on a Friday night. Michael the bartender is awesome! The whole of New Hope seemed quiet, as well as the restaurant, but you couldn't ask for nicer people working here. Great spot, great ambience. Did I mention Michael was awesome! Be back soon.

Yelp

Yelp
Horrible steak, was inedible to me, especially at the price offered. Salad was a joke. Waiter gave us the vibe he really did not want to be there.

Yelp
So we come in and we hear that yet again there's been a change in chef. Our NY strip that we split at the bar was really outstanding and priced right at 58 $bones. Chopped salad was awesome, as it's consistently been over all the ownership/chef changes. I'm writing to comment on the once-world famous Marsha/Oldestone "slab o' bacon". it is painfully suffering from "shrink-flation" and they have foregone the old Cajun-y sauce for a very small amount of flavor-challenged pickled onions and peppers.

Yelp
Service was great ... Ambience is great. Food not so much so. The crab cakes were really bad. I am not sure what they did to the squash that was under it, but it was even worse than the crab cakes. The pork chop was large but it was bland, it would have been better if it were not quite as thick and maybe a bit of seasoning. The only things we actually enjoyed were the scallops that we had as an add on to the pork chop and the bread. All in all not a good experience. I would not go back or recommend.
