The Best Fried Chicken in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Formerly known as “Le K’bob,” the focus here is on Korean fried chicken. Owner Eunjung (Olivia) Ko apprehensively added it to the menu at first, but now — if the name change wasn’t evidence enough — it’s the restaurant’s main focus. Grab it boneless or bone-in, by the sandwich or the wrap, in boxes for one or for six, and with nine different sauces to dip it in." - JP Karwacki

The Best Restaurants in NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) | Eater Montreal

"The former K’Bob and the original of a suddenly expanding chain. Previously a more all-encompassing Korean resto, pandemic times forced founder Eunjung Ko to pivot quickly, opting for a takeout menu centred around her crispy, but not greasy, fried bird. The restaurant was quickly deemed a success, and so too were its myriad of sauces to choose from." - Erik Leijon

I bought the Jumbo Wrap Combo. It was generally really good. Personally, the chicken was just too salty and the fries were mid. The waiting time was ridiculously long. I was told my food is ready then got it 10 minutes after even though I waited 10-15 minutes before because no one was coming to the counter. I had really high expectations for this restaurant. I’m not sure I’ll go again.

First time @ Olivia's, the reviews brought us in. Very friendly and professional service. We ordered a 4 piece and 12 piece combo with extra sauces. They offered us additional Boba tea as a complimentary which was unexpected, wait was a bit long as we didn't order in advance but was well worth it, we even stopped in across the street for churros with the kids while we waited. The food was hot and very crispy and crunchy, we also tried all the sides which are equally delicious and balanced the meal exceptionally. Would definitely go there again our order was over $120 however well worth the overall experience.

I think it was really good. The chicken sandwich was juicy, fries crisp. The spot is takeout only. Would definitely order again! The only thing I found a bit weird was customer service. She explained all the combos to me which was great. But when I ordered, she then proceeded to say there was no more coleslaw. I prefer if she said that at the beginning.

This place could be one of the best fried chicken in town. Super crispy and still juicy inside. Only takeout, no sitting area and you can order in advance through their website or directly with staff when you are in store. Staff is nice, the set up is clean and tidy. We ordered Combo to share for 2-3 people, portion is good, included 2 sauces, 2 fries (we paid extra for the onion rings, worth it) and 2 soft drinks. It’s over $40 for this combo but worth it. After try their chickens, we understand why it’s pricey, we paid for the right quality. We will come back.

The food was great. I tried that place with my wife for the first time and we love it. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big. If you like Korean food this is a good place to go. We tried their beef with rice, spicy noodles soup and especially their fried chicken with green onions. Their chicken is very lean too. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

—> UPDATE <— The owner contacted me regarding my review and apologized and offered me to come give the restaurant a second try on the house. I asked to try the spicy honey, spicy mayo, and the chicken sandwiches. They were very kind and even added in bone-out chicken pieces, as well as a poutine. The customer service was great and the employees were attentive to our order. The chicken sandwich was very good, the chicken itself was very juicy and a generous size/amount. The spicy honey was very good. While we got it on the side, it went very well on the sandwich and with the boneless chicken. Chicken tasted much more flavorful than the first time we went there, for all items. The first time we went, it felt like there was no flavour, but this time it felt like it was lightly seasoned, which allows it to go well with a variety of sauces and not clash. Both the spicy honey and spicy mayo paired well with the chicken. The chicken itself was also crispy while not feeling like there was too much of a breading. I am looking forward to going back to Olivia’s and getting a chicken sandwich with the spicy honey. It's nice to see a business owner value the feedback of their customer and to make sure to provide customer satisfaction. —> INITIAL REVIEW <— After hearing about how the chicken here is amazing, I came here last week with my friend. I ordered two combos, both on one bill. Each combo is supposed to include a small side, a drink and the chicken pieces. Then the worker proceeded to say that they have no more small sides, for all side options, so we would have to pay extra to get a medium side. Why would I want to pay extra to get a larger version of a side that I don't want to, when the small one should be included in the price anyway? So we asked to make a deal where we would get 1 single onion ring serving to replace both our hypothetical small sides, and we even calculated the value would be cheaper than two single small sides combined. So she asked her co-worker (or manager? I am not sure) who hesitantly accepted and then when she finally did, she said to us "we don't usually do this" with some attitude. Excuse me, but usually when I go to a restaurant I don't order a combo and then have to pay additional costs to get a size upgrade of a side, that I didn't sign up for. As for the food, the chicken is bland I wish it had some spices cooked into it. Not bad but just not flavourful or anything to rave about. The sweet spicy sauce that came with it was just ok. I did enjoy the onion rings, they are different, more breadcrumb style than batter style. All-in-all, I'm not sure why this place is so highly spoken of.

Very nice Korean place to grab some delicious food at a fair price. The fried chicken are awesome! Crispy and juicy in the inside. I took the original ingress that they are pack with flavor. The Korean seafood pancake is good. Very crispy, not too much batter and a lot of veggies inside but it would have been perfect if they add more seafood inside because there was only calamari and only few of them ... the spicy calamari was good but it find it quite expensive for a small plate with vey tiny calamari for 13$ ... everything was i ordered was at s reasonable price except the calamari. The service is 10/10. The waiter was always around making sure everything was fine. He did a very great job! I would definitely come back!

One of the best Fried chicken spots in Montreal ! Place was super clean , staff were very friendly and provided a lot of recommendations . Chicken was super crunchy , meat was juicy and fresh . Trio was less than 12$ , prices are very reasonable. My only feedback was that the chicken could use more spices. Highly recommend this place , worth the drive
