"The food arm of Hayes Valley’s Phonobar is quietly one of the premiere vegan outfits in the Bay Area. Dhanistha Rivera and Luis Alfredo Flores weave Mexican and California hippie food ways to make truly outstanding mac n’ cheeses, thick and decadent cheesecakes, inventive and moist tamales, and furikake fries topped with nori and aioli. Grab a drink here and come hungry." - Paolo Bicchieri
"Providing all the fare at audiophile bar Phonobar, Dhanistha Rivera and Luis Flores run Om Sabor like it’s their third culture, transnational vegan baby. And the love is felt: Om Sabor is amongst the most accessible upscale vegan food in San Francisco, making it fantastic for a last-minute meal before hitting a show." - Paolo Bicchieri
"This vegan Mexican restaurant, just down the street from fellow plant-based restaurant Baia, is the food arm of listening bar Phonobar. Grand slam dishes include truffle mac n’ cheese, hibiscus tacos, and furikake “crab” cakes." - Paolo Bicchieri, Lauren Saria, Eater Staff
"Inside Hayes Valley’s Phonobar lies one of the most reliable vegan soup destinations in the city. The Mexican, diet-sensitive minds behind Om Sabor keep a rotating soup on deck; a hardy cashew bisque held it down recently, and a soy-free, gluten-free, and vegan clam chowder ($14) full of crimini bacon and bechamel is doing the job this fall." - Paolo Bicchieri, Eater Staff
"It was dark out while we took down a feast of vegan Mexican food at Om Sabor like wolves to a hapless tofurkey. Owned by business and life partners Dhanistha Rivera and Luis Flores, the all vegan Mexican restaurant provides food for the music lovers at Phonobar. A DJ was spinning jungle techno beats as our server grooved through the narrow single hall, taxiing plates of hibiscus tacos and dishes of not-chicken over saffron rice, the Paella Valenciana, from the kitchen to our table. For what one gets, on the fringes of Hayes Valley, Om Sabor is affordable — but we went for broke. The furikake, gluten-free crab cakes went down fast, followed by flautas stuffed with King Oyster mushrooms and soyrizo. There were no bones to lick clean, but, had there been one in the plant medley, we’d have taken that to task, too." - Eater Staff
