"Who says that well-priced sushi can’t be found in Miami? Omakai Sushi offers a proper omakase experience starting at just $26 a person ($28 vegan) and running up to $95 for its “Omaki Experience,” a multi-course, 15-piece meal filled with seasonal fish. Hand rolls, nigiri, and sashimi can also be ordered a la carte." - Olee Fowler, Missy Frederick
"Omakai is a good choice if you want to have an omakase experience without paying $300 and going somewhere that requires weeks of reservation hunting. A seat at this casual spot is much easier to find. They offer a few different omakase options ranging from around $26 for six courses to $95 for over ten courses. Don’t expect to sit at a sushi counter and receive your pieces of sushi directly from the chef. It’s table service here, and you can’t even see the kitchen. But the sushi is good and the $50 Oma Deluxe menu—which comes with eight pieces of sushi, sashimi, an appetizer, and a couple of hand rolls—should be enough to fill you up." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"Omakai in Wynwood (there are also locations in Aventura and Coconut Grove) is a good choice if you want to have an omakase experience without paying $200. They offer a few different omakase options ranging from about $26 for six courses to $95 for over ten courses. Don’t expect to sit at a sushi counter and receive your pieces of sushi directly from the chef. It’s table service here, and you can’t even see the kitchen. But the sushi is very good and the $50 Oma Deluxe menu—which comes with 10 pieces of sushi, sashimi, an appetizer, and a couple handrolls—should be enough to fill you up." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

"Omakai has locations in Wynwood and Aventura. Both are casual enough for shorts, but still offer a solid omakase experience with options ranging from $26 to about $84. When we went here, we did the $48 Oma Deluxe, which comes with ten pieces of sushi, sashimi, an appetizer, and a couple handrolls. It was all very good, more than enough to fill us up, and, all things considered, a great value. They do accept walk-ins, but a reservation still isn’t a bad idea—especially if you're trying to go to the Wynwood location." - Ryan Pfeffer
