The 15 Best Sushi Omakase Spots In NYC For Under $100 - New York - The Infatuation

"At $89 for 15 courses, Korami is on the more expensive end of the sub-$100 omakase spectrum, but the added cost feels justified. The Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is a tiny place, where the chefs are friendly, and the soundtrack veers into NSYNC and Natalie Imbruglia. There’s no messing around with starters or dessert here. It’s all nigiri, for an hour straight. Expect things along the lines of cold-smoked spanish mackerel, sea bream with yuzu, and fatty torched sable." - neha talreja, bryan kim, kenny yang, hannah albertine, will hartman

Omakase by Korami - Review - Hell's Kitchen - New York - The Infatuation

"You aren’t going to mistake Omakase by Korami for an ultra-luxe spot where the fish is obscure and the rice is treated like it’s having a spa day. But for a middle-of-the-road option, it’s a solid pick. On the surface, this Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is indistinguishable from the dozens of other sub-$100 omakase places scattered across Manhattan. There are 10 stools around a U-shaped counter, where they serve a 15-course, $89 meal with a 60-minute time limit. But is that Shania Twain on stereo? Respectable choice. And are those chives pressed into the rice under a big piece of yellowtail? They are, and they add an herbal kick. The name tags on the chefs are also a nice touch, and the torched sable is silky as foie gras. Even if the rice is a bit dry, this is still a fun way to blow a chunk of money on above-average sushi. photo credit: Bryan Kim photo credit: Bryan Kim photo credit: Bryan Kim Pause Unmute" - Bryan Kim

If you’re visiting New York, this is a must-try spot! My husband and I visited this place today for our wedding anniversary, and we were completely satisfied with everything! A big thank you to Omakase by Korami for the clean interior, warm atmosphere, and top-quality fresh sushi. Here, you can enjoy 15 unique pieces of sushi, and especially experience the world’s top three delicacies served as luxurious toppings — truly unforgettable. Thank you to the chef who prepared each dish with such care and dedication during our time there. The non-alcoholic drinks were also very delicious! Thanks to the kind and attentive staff and the delicious food, we had such a happy and memorable day. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Google
Quaint little spot! We had reservations for omakase at 10 and it was well worth the wait :). From the sushi chefs to the manager to the other patrons, this was such a pleasant experience and I would come back for more! 15 pieces in 60 minutes, with each bite better than the one before - we left with happy bellies - come here if you get a chance!

Absolutely everything is excellently delicious. I have never tried fish so fresh, buttery, and soft in my life and I don't know if I ever will again, unless I come back here. Every piece is packed with a different flavor that leaves you wanting more. The chefs are really sweet and explain everything they serve you, it's a small intimate location, probably 10 people max so the vibe was chill and a bit refined. But don't be afraid to dress casually. They're also very accommodating to allergies, just let them know once you're there. If you want to do omakase right I highly recommend this place. You can't beat that kind of quality for the price, it really is excellent. Hoping they make a 25 course option in the future, because I'd love to try more!

Google
This omakase was far better than others I’ve tried—even those priced two or three times higher. We came with a group of over 10 people, so we essentially had a private dining experience, which made it even more enjoyable. Although the seating is limited to an hour and the pace is quick, it’s more than enough time if you’re looking for high-quality sushi. The pieces came one after another, each just as delicious as the last. We even added the Surf and Turf at the end, which was the perfect way to finish the meal. Great value, great quality, and a really fun experience overall. I’d definitely go back.

Google
I’m absolutely obsessed with omakases—there’s just something about watching the chefs in action and seeing the artistry behind each dish. 🎌✨ Omakase by Korami blew me away with their incredible 15-course omakase for under $100 (yes, under $100!). The quality and variety are unmatched for the price. Highlights of the night? The rich foie gras, the perfectly seared otoro topped with caviar, and the decadent truffle wagyu—I couldn’t say no. 🥩🍣 If you’re in New York, this spot is a must-visit. The flavors, presentation, and value all make it an unforgettable dining experience. Easily one of my favorite affordable omakases.

Google
A high-quality omakase place. Got the general 15-course meal. The fish were very fresh and generally the flavors are really good. However, a few things were a bit annoying. The first 2 courses are basically the same. At the end of the meal, even though it serves 15 courses, I felt hungry. I think this is because the sushi pieces are very small and not filling even after 15 pieces. Also, the host was standing in the corner supervising the meal and he claimed I already got the last course even though I didn’t and that was ridiculous… he wanted to take it from me which was ridiculous.. Other than that the sushi chefs are very nice and accommodating to whatever you need

Google
Korami is my go to casual omakase spot. Along with 13water they are my picks for <100 omakase in the city. Fish quality is great, service is always friendly and on point. At this price point that’s all you should want and this place delivers. It’s a small 10 seat counter which adds to the charm. Worth a trip to Hell’s Kitchen. Verdict: even with an endless supply of affordable omakase in the city, I will always come back.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at this underrated omakase spot in NYC, and the experience was phenomenal. The 15-course omakase runs just under an hour, making it a concise yet immersive journey. You can also order additional pieces à la carte, which is a great touch for anyone wanting a bit more. The setting is intimate—cozy with only about 10 seats, creating a personal dining atmosphere. There were three chefs present during my visit, with one or two typically guiding you through the course. Every piece served was meticulously crafted and far exceeded expectations, both in flavor and presentation. Service was exceptional. The chefs and staff were attentive and accommodating, even adjusting levels of soy sauce and wasabi upon request. It’s clear that they prioritize both the quality of the food and the overall dining experience without missing a beat. I would absolutely return the next time I’m in the city and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, intimate omakase experience off the beaten path.

Yelp
This is the absolute best omakase I've ever had in the US, YES surpassing Sushi Kashiba in Seattle! I just got back from a trip to Japan ~2 months ago and this place definitely feels like an authentic Japanese sushi spot. Chef Ryan was an absolute DELIGHT. For the price, this place is an absolute STEAL. Top quality fresh fish, impeccably seasoned and prepared. I had to ask my friend "are you sure this is only $89 per person"? Only downside is if you dined with a taller / bigger person / male they'll probably be hungry afterwards with their standard ~15 pieces, but they can always order more! But as a petite 5'2'' asian woman, the serving size was perfect for me! Love, love, love this spot! I plan on coming back here every time I go to NYC a few times a year for work!

Yelp
My all time favorite restaurant in the world. This cute 10 seat omakase is the perfect spot for any occasion. It is only $89 but the quality of fish is well worth $200+. Everything is fresh and not frozen unlike some other omakase spots in similar price ranges. They rotate a few dishes seasonally which makes it perfect. I cannot stress how good this place is. I literally go here about once a month and every friend I have brought here has loved it. The owner Alan is very kind and gives us free sake and sushi all the time. 10/10.

Yelp
For my birthday dinner, my friend treated me to Omakase by Korami, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who informed us that we would be seated shortly. Their hospitality set a welcoming tone for the evening. One unique aspect of this spot is that it's BYOB, so we were able to enjoy our own drinks alongside the meal. Every sushi piece served was impeccably fresh and absolutely delicious--there wasn't a single miss. The chef was not only skilled in his craft but also highly engaging, taking the time to introduce each piece and graciously answering any questions we had. His interaction added a personal touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Omakase by Korami for a date night, a gathering with friends, or any special occasion. The quality of the food, the intimate setting, and the wonderful service make it a standout choice. We had an amazing time--thank you so much!

Yelp
We came by on New Year's Eve and were running a few minutes late because of the road closures. We were still seated and had an omakase in 45 minutes instead of 60! The restaurant is cozy and probably only fits 10 ppl at a time. My favorite bites were the salmon with foie gras, scallop and seared sable fish. Least favorite was probably the eel, it was a little bit mushy. We also added on one item, can't remember the name but it had uni, caviar and ikura. Service was quick as advertised. Overall a nice and quick meal if that's what you're looking for.

Yelp
What a fun experience! This was my first time trying Omakase with my husband for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is small but beautiful with very simple decor. The 3 chefs behind the table were friendly and the food was so fresh and delicious. We got there 30 minutes early and they have a few small tables to sit at before or after your dinner reservation to have some drinks.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Cannot say better things about it from the people to the food! I've been to a good amount of omakase spots, and this is by far one of my favorites! We made a reservation for 2 at 7pm and were seated on time to start the 15-course meal. We were celebrating a birthday, so we ordered a glass of Champagne and a non-alcoholic Yuzu drink (so good we got 2). All the pieces were so flavorful and fresh, I was looking forward to each piece. They have a variety of seasonings laid out for each piece they serve you. My favorite was the scallop because it was so sweet compared to the fish. During our course, they gave us 2 cups of sake for our birthday celebration, which was so kind of them! At the end of the course, they even whipped out a hand-roll with a candle and the entire bar with customers and staff sang happy birthday. To add onto our course, we tried the uni flight which was super fresh. All the staff members were phenomenal and went above and beyond to make this day special. Their seats for the bar were comfortable and the staff will help push you in since it's a little bit of a tight squeeze. This is a place that'll have a special place in my heart! Can't wait to come back in the future.

Yelp
My cousin who was visiting from California was craving for sushi and I'm a huge fun of omakase so I booked omakase by Korami. I've been wanting to come here for some time as it's gotten good reviews and it's close to my apt ( with the weather , I'm prone to choose places close to me ). Unfortunately she wasn't feeling well and cancelled but I decided to go solo . They were understanding and accommodating to my request of changing the reservation from 2 to 1. I'm so glad I went, what a find / gem . It's a small cozy place , the layout is open , airy and bright . The place felt inviting , clean., Minimally decorated with 3 chefs who served the delicious pieces ( it got gradually better piece by piece , my favorites were the toro with caviar , salmon with foie , scallop yuzu and the Kobe beef ). Loved the mishmash music selection from abba to Christina Aguilera playing the background . The patrons were a mix of locals and tourists . I will definitely be back , great price point for the quality of sushi ( im all about the fish vs the additives ) and thought they did an excellent job serving good fishes . Seasoned with just enough soy sauce etc . Most importantly, i will be a returning customer as I like the manager , owner and the rest of the staff.

Yelp
This was my third time doing an omakase and it did not disappoint! My favorite was the waygu beef which I ordered a second round of after our meal ended and asked for truffle salt on top which they happily added for me. The 15 piece omakase plus a bottle of wine, two extra pieces of sushi, tax and tip our total was $320 which I think is very reasonable for omakase in NYC. Wine and beer options are very limited but there are a good amount of sake options and we got a free sake birthday shot! I would not recommend this omakase experience to first timers or anyone looking for a more upbeat experience. The menu does not exactly reflect what the online menu says and we were served some more exotic pieces like monkfish liver (it was delicious), which might be off putting to first timers. This restaurant is very small (about 10-12 seats in the whole restaurant), which I really enjoyed, but would not be good for big groups or anyone looking to get drunk off sake on a night out. Although they did play fun pop music during our meal! The staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions and make any special requests for allergies. I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
As a first timer at any sort of omakase styled dining, Omakase by Korami has now got me hooked on experiencing different ones! When my boyfriend surprised me by treating us to a dinner here for our anniversary, I didn't know what to expect. But as the huge foodie he is, I knew it was going to be delicious! And it far exceeded anything I could have imagined! Each individual dish had its own flavor and pallette prepared right in front of you by the chefs. Our pieces were prepared with care by the sweet Chef Ben! He made making these incredible pieces look so easy while he spoke with us. It seemed almost like second nature to him! The service staff was also incredibly kind and welcoming as we arrived, constantly checking in on us and even surprising us with sake on the house for our anniversary! My boyfriend has been to several omakases across the globe and after we were done, he had said Omakase by Korami was one of the best experiences both food and attendance wise he's ever had! Thank you for introducing me into the world of omakase! I hope we can be back soon!

Yelp
Went back to Omakase by Korami for the second time in a month! This time we brought friends. The team was absolutely wonderful and made us feel right at home. Some of their staple pieces stayed the same, but about half the omakase was new items. This might be our new favorite omakase spot! They definitely have some of the best value I've seen. The quality is impressive for the price, and the pieces are very generous sizes.
google avatar

Ken Z.

Yelp
One of the best omakase experiences I've had in the US. The pieces were so flavorful and prepared really well. The rice was well seasoned but not in a way that it would overpower the fish. Lots of delicate cuts were made into the sushi that helped enhance the flavor and increase the surface area as well.
google avatar

Mel J.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience at omakase by korami. It's a cozy small space with room for 11 each seating. All the staff were friendly and talented. Each bite of sushi was delicious, fresh and generously portioned. In between, Alex entertained us with friendly conversation and music tunes. Best value omakase in NYC. We can't wait until we can come back for more!
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
For the price, you get all the heavy hitters- wagyu, otoro, salmon, etc. You get an efficient dining experience for an hour to get 15 courses in. We had Chef Ben who seemed friendly throughout the dinner and our server was very attentive in this ten seater restaurant. The cons: you miss out on a genuine omakase experience of one chef cultivating the experience. Three chefs switched off mass making different courses to keep up efficiency and timing in the one hour so it's not one chef preparing your course and cultivating this full dining experience. Overall, enjoyable and NY omakase is unmatched in prices for what you get. They played early 2000s hits for background music which was fun and the environment was small and relaxing even for a one hour 15 course experience. Thanks chef Ben
google avatar

William R.

Yelp
Every dish tasted absolutely immaculate and the service was immediate without being over bearing. It was almost a perfect omakase experience. Excellent people, food, drinks and, most importantly, FISH! Only point I can dock is for a substitution. I didn't want sea urchin so they made me something else: a crab dish. The only problem is that it was too salty because they added soy sauce. But the fact that they asked if there were any courses I didn't want and allowed a substitution overshadows this minor misstep. Overall Omakase by Korami still gets 5 stars and I would definitely come again.

Yelp
everyone's already sung the praises of korami, so let me just add to the crowd -- korami's been on my list to try for a while, but by the time i actually came around to looking on resy, they had closed for renovations. i finally booked myself a 9pm reservation and was not disappointed even with the high expectations. i came seven minutes early (and yet the latest out of everyone there) -- first thing you notice is the impeccable service. you're seated at some side chairs and given a water while you wait. once the area is clear, they offered to take my jacket and seated me and everyone else promptly. the dinner itself is a 15 course lineup. the chefs work efficiently without too much wait time in between each piece, yet are friendly and engage with the counter (plus, a cheers with each chef at some point of the night, nice!). as with every place, there were definitely standouts and favorites, but more notably, there were no weak points -- i feel like a lot of omakase places fall into the trap of not complementing the more mild flavored fish. even classic pieces i tend not to like as much (looking at ikura especially) were delicious. the standouts aren't super surprising, they're the pieces that omakase places typically advertise, but the quality of them was elevated. would say my favorites were the prawn with uni (a signature and so so rich) and the salmon with foie gras (torched and almost melts in your mouth like butter -- i tried to savor it for as long as possible). would absolutely, 100% come back and maybe drag a friend with me next time. bonus note: they actually note the "special occasions" you put on the reservation -- there were both an anniversary and a birthday at the counter and they were celebrated appropriately.

Yelp
First ever true omakase experience and it did not disappoint! I'm a little new to eating fish on this level but trust me when i say it was all really good even if by looks it might be a little weird. The oyster was delicious (and i hate oyster), the nigiri was spot on, and the torched eel has ruined all other eel for me because it is by far the best I have ever had. What was great about this too though was I learned there are definetly some things I like more than others (like I never have to try uni because it was slimy and weird texturally) but other than that everything else was really good. Be prepared to have wasabi though because he uses it a lot as the binding agent between the fish and the rice. Several of my friends loved this and he actually gave them even more wasabi, but if you don't like wasabi just keep that in mind and I guess ask? Overall, our chef was very cool and presented all of the food very well, but I would scrap everything just to have 10 of those eel rolls because they simply amazing. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Wendi Z.

Yelp
Keeping this short and simple I highly recommend this place I would 100% be coming back here. The ambulance is cozy all seats are by the bar the sushi was on point haven't had anything bad, the service is great from the hostess to the chief handling each piece like a piece of art. Probably the best 1-hour omakase experience. If you're not full from the omakase recommend that you order the King Kong to top it off.

Yelp
This 15 course indulgence stands out in the sea of omakase offerings in the year of 2024 by its high quality of ingredients. It's hard to hear the quiet spoken chefs explain each course at first. I admittedly missed the point in the first couple sushi selections. I know I had a sea bream, hamachi, scallop, uni, wagyu, toro (salmon), salmon roe, Japanese mackerel, and tuna. But there are 15 courses to keep track of. The restaurant itself is very simple, minimalist concept, with 10 seats around the counter and 3 chefs. Chef Kong served me my courses and humored me when I was taking videos of the blowtorch. The slab of wagyu was mouth watering. Courses were garnished with foie gras and the tiniest bit of lime rind shavings as well as a soy sauce glaze. The torch was used to upgrade the flavor whether it was cooked or slightly torched. The music playing this day was early 00's pop. There was the option to use chopsticks or your hands with an accompanying finger towel bowl. The whole experience was efficiently under an hour. If you want to gorge on omakase but don't have a lot of time this is perfect.

Yelp
I visited Omakase by Korami for a friend's birthday and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of this restaurant. We booked an 8pm reservation for 8 people. The restaurant is small, with bar seating for 10 and a small round table in the corner for about 5 people for drinks. They offer 15 pieces for $89, which is quite a deal. Each piece was extremely fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the salmon roe, uni, king salmon with foie grais, fatty tuna, and wagyu with caviar. They were so fatty and rich with flavor. I even enjoyed the mackerel, which is usually too fishy for me. Overall the experience was amazing even though it felt a bit rushed to finish within the hour. Their service and chefs were also very nice. I definitely recommend trying Omakase by Korami.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Good sushi at a reasonable price point ($89). Korami is one of the many "speed sushi" omakases that have sprung up in NYC, which depends on turning the table (or in this case the 11 counter seats) on a set schedule to reach their nightly revenue target. There's nothing to order except drinks and the sushi starts coming one by one as you soon as you sit down. Toward the end, you will have the chance to order some ala carte, and then you will know it's time to leave when they bring you the bill, exactly one hour after you sit down. Is it truly authentic? Not really, as none of the chefs seem to be Japanese and some of the sushi is geared toward Western palates. But the quality is good and so is the service. Everyone is friendly, water is refilled regularly and they remembered my friend who had been there a couple of times before. We hadn't finished our bottle of sake when the meal ended, so they allowed us to retire to the small seating area behind the counters and didn't rush us from there. Overall a good experience.
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
The place is tiny but packed for good reason! Came here to celebrate the birthday of a loved one and both of us were constantly smiling after every bite. The fish to rice to wasabi ratio was perfect and each piece came out promptly. Our chef and servers were also so incredibly nice. Hoping to come back again soon! The salmon and foie gras was like it melted in my mouth.
google avatar

Diana Q.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends and had an amazing time. Not only was the ambience lovely, the chef recognized my friends who had been here once before which I think was cool. Everyone was so nice when taking our orders and they asked if there were any ingredients we were not into. Personally, me and my husband are not fans of Uni, but we are good to go for everything else. The courses were all excellent and our chef was really good at interacting with us. However, the only reason I sub one star is because the Uni sub, which was crab meat, was a little lacking in several ways but most of all, it was way too salty. I feel like at this price tag I have very high expectations for every course, and that includes subs. I think if you like Uni though, you'd enjoy their entire menu. It just felt like the sub could not compare to the other courses. Other than that, highly recommend this restuarant!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of dining at this place three times, and it's been such a treat every time. Alan, the manager, is very kind and often gives my party and I complimentary pours of sake. I also really like Chef Kong and his sense of humor. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed. I always have such a good time. They are also pretty attentive at refilling your glass when you're running low on water or sake. I like that the menu changes a bit every time I go. This time, for instance, was my first time having squid. My favorite is always the uni, so I am glad that seems to be something that is always served. It lasts for an hour, so it's quick, but I left feeling happy and pretty full!

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner because I love all things Japanese cuisine and Omakase by Korami did not disappoint! Service, food, and drinks were phenomenal. I did feel a little rushed though so be aware this is only an hour dine in experience. The restaurant is small and there is only counter service Available so you can see the chefs prepare the food right in front of you. Friendly atmosphere with so many delicious and fresh nigiri. My favs: catfish, salmon, bluefin tuna w caviar. Melted in my mouth, soo fresh and so much flavor. Loved! We enjoyed our meal over Dassai 39 sake and I was excited to get a tuna hand roll birthday surprise with a candle in it. Super sweet from the chefs and it was such a great birthday dinner.

But our party of five had a wonderful time! We were celebrating two birthdays and they gave us a hand roll with candles for each bday person to celebrate! The menu above is what I found on their site, which I believe matches what we got. I recall enjoying the omakase. The fish slices were a good size. The rice had the right amount of vinegar and texture - slight sour, sweet, sticky, and firm. We all were extra and decided to to do the caviar bump. Or maybe it was just my idea since I adore caviar? I thought pricing was fine at $18 per person. For a celebration, the time limit of an hour is hard. Luckily they have a few tables in the corner and we moved there to finish our meal. Ended up getting the last three things above - uni flight, blue crab, hakkaisan. Glad they have that spot since we weren't really done yet. Service was amazing! Our waitress was so sweet! Attentive and friendly. I would definitely consider coming back just for the straight omakase. Actually my mouth is watering thinking about it. Gimme that nigiri!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVED my experience at Omakase by Korami. It's a small establishment and seats were situated only at the counter, which was great because you got to see how the chefs assembled 15 courses ($89) together. Before serving each piece, our chef announced what type of fish he was serving and where it was from. Everything we had tasted so fresh and delicious! Staff was also amazing and in a great mood. We were celebrating my friend's graduation and the manager gave us a shot of complimentary sake; so sweet of him. This place is definitely worth the time and money!

Yelp
Made reservations for Valentine's Day at 7PM and got seated promptly. The place was a chefs counter bar that seats about 10 and it was packed! Quaint little place but onto the food! It's $89/pp for 15 courses and it did not disappoint. I think it's because they use a little bit less rice or clump it better that the fish pieces actually feel pretty big. They're also quite fresh. I had a favorite piece, which was outdone by the next one and became my new one. This sequence pretty much repeated the whole night. Chef William and Kong were both so friendly. They heard we LOVEEEE uni and decided to pile it on for us and we were so appreciative. One of the places that's definitely worth the money. Make a reservation and try it!

Yelp
Omakase by Korami is a budget-friendly omakase that serves 15 courses and has a time limit of 1 hour. Maybe it's because it was a rainy, dreary day or we were just ready to eat, but each of the pieces served was pretty good - I did notice that most of the fish seemed to be seared and heavily sauced, which may mask the actual fish's freshness. We also added a couple of Chef Specials - the King Kong (with wagyu, toro, scallop, and uni) and the Kama Toro, which at the end, thought it was unnecessary, as the omakase meal itself was pretty filling. I recommend in adding any additional items once you get closer to the end of your meal. The team was friendly and had a good sense of humor - I did notice that a couple sitting next to us seemed to either be friends of the chef or were 'regular's, as they received extra portions and orders for free, and this was not offered to the rest of the guests - this kind of left a bad taste in our mouths. The time limit is hard, so when the 1 hour is up, the staff starts wiping down and gets ready for the next seating. There are a couple of bar tables to wait, but usually, it's best to come right at your seating time. +budget-friendly omakase +most fish were seared/heavily sauced +special treatment for friends/regulars

Yelp
Small restaurant but the ambiance is great. The service is amazing, the chefs are super detailed with each piece of fish & even offered us free shots of sake! The fish was super fresh & tasty. Not a single piece was bad. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
Good omakase and great value for the price point (15 pieces!) This place was casual and all the fish was fresh and good quality. They had a variety of fish/toppings which I liked. I wasn't super hungry when I went because usually omakase doesn't fill me up but with 15 pieces I got quite full towards the end and was basically stuffing myself which made it less enjoyable. Another thing I didn't love was that they brought out hot rice in the middle of the meal so the juxtaposition of the hot rice with the cold fish was a little odd and made some of the toppings like the uni too gooey. Lastly, didn't love that all the pieces at the end were quite heavy (toro, wagyu, uni, etc) so it made it more difficult. I wish they alternated some heavy pieces with lighter fish. Overall though the taste was good and you get a good value for the amount of food. I'd just suggest going hungry!

Yelp
its tradition for me to try a new omakase spot when i visit ny. while researching, i found this spot and decided i had to try it. at $89 for 15 piece, it def sold me. we made reservations way in advance for a sat 7 pm seating. the restaurant is small and intimate, with only about 11 seats. we arrived early and they gave us water and let us sit in the corner table to wait while the previous parties finished. they started the dining experience promptly around 7, and allowed us to order alcohol. we decided to go for the peach nigori which was a sweet sake; throughout the dining experience, they came to refill our water and sake cups. they even gave us a complimentary shot of sake for our anniversary which was so kind! Onto the fish - wow, each piece was so delicious and unique. I don't think there was a single piece I didn't enjoy. Even with pieces that I typically am not a fan of (uni and ikura), i was surprised by how delicious they tasted. the chef was extremely kind & described each fish throughout our meal. its great because you get to taste the variety throughout the courses - from seared, to handroll, to just the simplicity of the fish itself. my fav were the shima aji, otoro, and wagyu pieces. i was so sad when it ended because i truly loved the entire experience. thankfully, you are able to order a la carte pieces at the end. this whole dining experience was about an hour long, you'll know its time to leave when the next parties start coming in. overall, it was a wonderful meal and i would recommend this to all my friends.

Yelp
15 courses, $89, 1 hour, be prepared to have fun! The counter only sits around 10 people so it is an intimate dinner experience. The chefs take the time to talk to you and tell you about each piece. There is also endless sake on the house! Each piece is unique and paired with something different. Easily one of my favorite omakases in the city!

Yelp
Omakase by Korami on the Hell's Kitchen / Theater District border is such a great dinner option ESPECIALLY if you are trying to make a show. My coworker recommended this restaurant to me and I'm glad I took his suggestion. You are only allowed one hour for seating and they start on the hour every hour from 5-9pm (closes at 10pm). If you need your experience to be done earlier to make a showing, the restaurant will accommodate you and provide a quicker meal which is wonderful. For the price point (under $100 a person) this is definitely one of the more affordable omakases in the city and a good bang for your buck. The sushi is fresh and the portions are perfect -- no itty-bitty bite-size pieces here. Also the chefs here are always so friendly and personable so you're not sitting in awkward quiet silence chewing your food. If you want, you can buy sake or beer for them and they will drink and toast with you during your meal! Love that. All in all I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a delicious yet still affordable omakase in the city!

Yelp
This is your standard but delicious omakase experience. The seating is by the hour and you get 15 pieces for $89. all pieces were fresh and I noted the chef added more flavor pairings and seasonings to the fish compared to other omakases which makes this one stand out compared to the rest. each piece was very flavorful, and you can easily differentiate each fish. don't worry about the sauces overpowering because they elevate the fish, so it's not lost at all I got the Kama toro add on, which is not usually seen in the "budget" omakase places but because I prefer fattier fish, this was a great add on. they are very generous with the pieces and they make friendly conversation with you. i enjoyed the interactive aspect of this omakase.

Yelp
This is one of the best budget-friendly omakase places I've been to in New York, with fresh fish, allergy-friendly accommodations, and kind chefs and servers. The one hour time constraint can be stressful for some diners, but as I needed to be somewhere else later I thought it was the perfect time block for a quick casual dinner. All of the fish was very well-cut, and the portion of fish to rice was very generous. The sea bream here was the best I had in my life, but I was less impressed with the fatty tuna. Some of it was a little oversauced and flambéed, but I didn't mind that too much especially since it added to the flavor in many cases. I'm allergic to soy and shellfish, and they were very good about making sure I had alternatives. I can't recommend this place enough for a cheaper, high-quality dinner!

Yelp
Everything everyone says is correct! Our omakase was so so good start to finish. Even stuff that we don't typically like (scallop, uni, sorry we basic) was super good. You can tell the quality is top top. The pace though that some folks call out is real. Wrong place if you're seeking a relaxed experience. Come correct with the right expectations and you will have a great evening. And put some respect on the game. Super efficient and maintaining elite quality. Staff as well was exceptional. No BYOB as mentioned in other post, there is $20 corkage.

Yelp
Great spot with fairly priced omakase that has enough and quality food to justify the price. They seem to start once enough people are present if reservations show a full house at the counter. Typical but worth noting if this is something you're planning on "squeezing" in. There could be a delay to the start depending on how late others are. Anyways, great selection and variety. They are also accommodating for most allergies/restrictions. We don't red meat and they were happy to switch out the steak for a fish we enjoyed. Others had shellfish issues who also had substitutions handled seamlessly. At times the courses felt rushed but overall each item was very enjoyable and flavored just enough to fully enjoy the protein.

Yelp
A no-frills budget-friendly omakase spot that serves 15 pieces for $89. I enjoyed the more conservative take on garnish and condiments on each piece, which allowed the original flavor of the fresh fish to shine through. Some of my favorites include the kanpachi, sable, botan ebi, madai, otoro, and wagyu. Staff was incredibly friendly and inviting. They refilled my cup of tea frequently to ensure the tea maintained its warmth. Worth a visit!

Yelp
What an absolutely stellar meal. And at $90 per person, it feels like a steal. Every single piece was perfect, and I'm not sure I could pick a favorite. (The salmon with foie gras maybe?) I really love the intimacy of the restaurant -- sitting at the bar, watching the chefs prepare the sushi. The service was stellar. As it was my birthday, I got a birthday candle in my hand-roll, which I loved. But everyone was given sake to toast with the chefs. We were in and out in about an hour so this is probably a perfect spot for someone looking to catch a show after dinner. Highly highly recommended

Yelp
There literally nothing I can complain about when it comes to choosing to dine here. Firstly non-food related things. It's relatively easy to get a reservation here if you plan ahead like at least a week in advance. The location is awesome for a fun touristy day in NYC, close to Times Square. Service is so wonderful here; I came here with my boyfriend during winter time and right when we walked in, the hostess offered to take our coats and hold our shopping bags so that we could be clutter free at the counter for dinner. Lastly, the bathroom is oddly stacked with literally anything you need from floss to mouthwash qtips and more lol. The food was pretty standard omakase; it really is a bargain experience because all the sushi tasted so delicious and it was only under $100 per person. I also got a yuzu soda with my meal which was good too. Overall, great experience, would definitely recommend and I would definitely come back! :)

Yelp
Affordable omakase alert!! We were visiting NY and wanted to have an omakase experience. It's usually hundreds of dollars but we discovered this spot for $85 pp, which is super reasonable. We got 15 pieces of fresh fish prepared right in front of us! Service was incredible, very intimate - only like 10 seats per seating. We got a wide variety of fish and even got a bite of wagyu which just melts in your mouth. Wow, so good! Great dinner spot if you're nearby for a Broadway show. Highly recommend! Must make reservation.

Yelp
I've seen Omakase by Korami pop up on my friends' IG a few times and they all spoke highly of the place. I made a res via Resy and received confirmation texts. Our train was running late, so I was able to text the restaurant on our arrival time. The restaurant is cozy with extremely friendly staff. My friend and I ordered a bottle of Yuki Nigori (white peach flavor) to go with our 15-piece nigiri meal. The sushi tasted very fresh! No complaints on quality and quantity - Everything was seasoned perfectly. My friend and I had a blast here.

Yelp
Lovely little spot in Hell's Kitchen area. Just a sushi counter + 2 small tables. The service was lovely + $89 Omakase was a good value. They slot people in hourly which was great. We had a 6pm out at 7pm for the show (Hell's Kitchen:) @ 7:30. I noted it was our anniversary - they were so kind offered us a drink - very kind. I think its billed as 15 courses - like 15 pieces - all were decent a few were really good. One with a button of Foie Gras was Good. Fun watching the sushi chefs with their little torches! Only thing is for a one hour experience maybe a cup of soup or other small starter offering might be nice. All in all great service + effort + nice food too!

Yelp
Omakase by Korami is a goto spot for us. When we first happened upon it and saw its reviews, we were skeptical with the hundreds of 5 star ratings. And we were happy to experience it for ourselves. There are a number of Omakase spots, but where Korami excels is at both delivery and execution whilst holding a fair price for such a cuisine. The chefs are strong at what they do, the service is attentive and full of care and ultimately it is a great experience. Taste: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value for Money: 5/5 For our Omakase we had the following: 1. Amberjack 2. Hamachi 3. Sable fish 4. Sea bream 5. Salmon ikura 6. Sawada Spanish makeral 7. Firefly squid? 8. Sea scallop 9. Salmon with foiegras 10. Tuna soy sauce 11. Chu toro 12. Seared otoro caviar 13. Wagyu 14. Eel 15. Surf and turf 100% will be back, you can count on it. (Unless anything changes, will report back!)

Yelp
Excellent omakase for the price. You get 15 courses in 1 hour for $89 + tax/tip. The chefs are Chinese and very friendly so it was a very social experience (as my group and I were also mandarin speakers). We didn't order any alcohol but they offered free sake on the house. My personal favorites were the otoro and king salmon, I'd come back just for those tbh.

Yelp
Amazing budget omakase experience... is definitely one of my top! We started with the yuzu sake which was so light and refreshing -- the yuzu flavor was very present and made the drink citrusy and fragrant! All 15 courses of nigiri were delightful and the ingredients were all super fresh -- my favorites included the sablefish, uni, otoro, wagyu, and eel. We also decided to add on the oceanic kiss and surf n turf. The oceanic kiss was lighter, more refreshing, and saltier from the ikura and caviar, but I expected the rice wafer to be a bit more crunchy. The surf and turf was more decadent and rich, but the texture of the nori cracker was very nice and crunchy and all the flavors blended well together into a fatty and luxurious bite. Ambiance is very friendly and homey, and the service was so welcoming! Would definitely come back :)

Yelp
great value for how much you pay! service is super attentive and workers are great to chat with. to me, a great omakase experience includes the vibes and i personally love when the chefs are fun and easy to talk to quality of the fish was great and super tasty. i'm not an uni person at all so i was hesitant to have their uni but it was super fresh and didn't taste fishy at all pretty simple omakase set but super fresh and tasty nonetheless also great for a group booking of around 10-11 (had a birthday here) they let you BYOB and are accommodating

Yelp
If i could give 6 stars I would. Omakase by Korami is an absolute gem. My sister recommended it after her trip to NYC so I had to stop by. We were a party of 4 (not including a 9 year old child that did not want to partake in any sushi). The owner and staff were SO accommodating having an extra child who could sit off to the side! The customer service and attention throughout the meal was TOP notch--and we've had Michelin Star Omakase before. The recommended bottle of Sake (Dassai 39) was SO smooth and enjoyed by even the non-regular drinkers! Every piece of nigiri was explained to us thoroughly. The pacing was brisk but at no point did I feel rushed--we even had time at the end to get our favorite nigiri again! The photos don't do this small intimate setting justice. Go drop a reservation if you are in the city. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Good balance between courses regarding timing, flavor, and heaviness. The macha tea was also nice and the staff and company felt very intimate and peaceful. Would recommend if you are in the area.
