The Best Sushi Omakase Restaurants In Chicago, Ranked By Price - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Omakase On Me in Lakeview is the city’s wildest omakase experience, and it’s a blast. Chefs hand-feed you otoro while “Careless Whisper” echoes above the 14-seat counter. Blowtorch pyrotechnics and puffs of rosemary smoke are commonplace. And the kicker: unlimited sake (yes, you read that correctly) throughout the 16-course meal, as staff take shots with you and ensure your sake carafe stays full. Antics aside, the food holds up, with flavorful small bites like red curry with wagyu and eel, or juicy ama ebi nigiri. Some caviar or uni-loaded bites might be overbearing rather than tasteful, but they won’t spoil the fun. Like the neon sign near the entrance reminds you: you’re here to “enjoy your f*cking dinner.”" - john ringor, nick allen, adrian kane

This spot is a must. The chefs are super friendly and make sure you’re having a great time. Each course is curated with music and lively energy that keeps the whole experience fun and exciting. And let’s not forget the unlimited sake, yes, unlimited. This was hands down the best omakase experience I’ve had. The chef is Michelin-trained and it shows. They take incredible care in crafting each dish, and the way they blend Thai flavors into some of the courses is just perfection. It’s nothing less than a five-star experience. If you’re looking for something unforgettable, this is it.

Simply outstanding. Not your typical omakase vibe at all, the 3 chefs put on a show and make it a party, but never compromise the quality and flavor of the dishes. Would give 6 stars if possible. Amazing.

This was my first Omakase experience, and they set the bar high. The setting was private and intimate with just 9 people, but it still had a lively, fun, almost party-like vibe. never awkward to sit next to strangers. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance, not overly formal, which made it easy to chat with the chef and others around me, while still feeling special and unique. And the food absolutely amazing! Every dish tasted fresh, carefully curated, and beautifully presented. The penang curry with wagyu beef and the fatty salmon with tamarind sauce were the best!! Easily some of the best flavors I’ve ever experienced! Overall, it was such a fun and memorable evening, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality yet approachable Omakase experience.

Omakase On Me in Lakeview is a game-changer! Same genius behind Sushi on Me in NYC. We snagged the 5:30 seating and were blown away by the 16-course omakase experience. Speakeasy vibes, lively tunes, and unlimited sake = pure magic. The staff's hospitality was top-notch - we even got to leave our mark on the wall! If you're ready for an interactive food adventure, look no further. Highly recommend!

Such a fun experience. Not only that, food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Instantly one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. I will dream of that Panang curry.

Celebrated my husband’s 33rd birthday here and had an amazing time. The vibe was great—super fun and laid-back. We basically got unlimited sake with our 16-course meal, which was such a nice touch. Definitely more relaxed compared to some of the higher-end omakase spots, but still felt special. Would absolutely go back!

Yelp
Saw this new omakase on Infatuation so made a last minute reservation same day. The experience was exactly as described in the infatuation review. The atmosphere is lively and the music is not what you would expect for the experience, but it works. The food was excellent. All 16 bites were great. The wagyu curry was superb; I could have eaten a whole meal of it. Chef Banke (?) did a great job preparing and presenting it all. The unlimited sake is a nice touch and Chef Tobi really encouraged lots of drinking (I'm not sure of the alcohol content of it based on how much I drank I hardly felt any affect). I highly recommend it if you are looking for a different approach to omakase that is fun, reasonably priced, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
This has been hands down one of the best omakase experience I've ever had. And I'm a picky mofo. My gf and I booked an omakase experience that ended up being a private one bc it was the first week they were open. After going to 15+ omakases, this was hands down the most fun one with high quality fish that we have ever had. Palm, Tobi, And Chris were amazing!!!!! And I say that lightly bc I NEVER recommend places. They have killed it in NYC and they are now bringing their talented to Chicago. Trust me, just go!!!
