This is a great spot for music, food and drinks. All the food options are on point and delicious! All the sorrel drinks were good. Would recommend THE BURRBRII REMIX margarita. Didn’t have reservations and it was pretty full in there. The wait time was around 25-40 minutes. We got on the waiting list but ended up eating at the bar which was great. Time flys when your having fun, ended up being there around 2 hours. There’s only one bathroom and had a short line of people waiting. The bartenders and servers are nice and welcoming. This place definitely has great vibes and is in a nice area.

Food was good! Music and lighting all so fun too. Went for restaurant week and it ended up not applying on the weekend improving ended up to be about the same. Weird because nothing online said they were only participating during the week. Liked the experience!

Love this place! The old school music was great. The food was good. I think that the saltfish and plantain fritters could be a little less dense but over all still tasty. The drinks were good and had just the right amount of alcohol. I will definitely be visiting again. I went with a group for my birthday and had no issues with them accommodating us.

Update: Returned in-person and enjoyed the fritters, veggie and shrimp 🍤 doubles which were both amazingly flavorful. My beverage preference for the evening was Lychee 🍸Martini. To go: Had the beyond 🍔 burger, mushroom pasta, mac and cheese and plantains and enjoyed it all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Will return for the other goods and rum.

I was here about a month ago and have to share how delicious the food was! I ordered the bbq salmon served with rice & peas and it was cooked perfectly with all the spices needed. I was able to try the shrimp doubles, mac & cheese, conch fritters etc. and I enjoyed each bite! Service was good. There was a DJ playing all the chunes so that was a nice touch. Overall, enjoyed my experience.

Dimly lit Jamaican restaurant, the food was amazing we had the chicken and waffles, the plantain grits and the chicken sandwich, the plantain grits were way better than I expected Will definitely order again, the chicken and waffles is one of the best I've ever had. The chicken was tender with a light batter that was perfect, It said it was red stripe beer infused but I didn't chase the red stripe but it didn't need it, the chicken sandwich was great and again the plantain grits was just creamy with a light plantain flavor and just overall amazing. The drinks were great I forgot the names but just know they're awesome, we wanted to get dessert but they didn't have one desserts that I wanted so it wasn't able to review the desserts but the staff was amazing, nice cozy restaurant good for a date night or even hang out with a small group of friends definitely recommend!

This is a very small but extremely beautiful restaurant. First, I enjoyed the music. The appetizers I got was the honey Appleton and also the hibiscus something wings both 1000/10. I actually don’t drink sorrel unless it’s homemade but the sorrel was amazing as well, it shocked me. My partner got jerk chicken and waffles. I hate jerk chicken because I can’t handle the spice but here it has a fair level of spice and the chicken was juicy. I ended up getting the coconut curry oxtail with stew peas and rice. I didn't like it tbh. It was an Interesting mix but for me personally I don’t like stew peas so I couldn’t get over that and idk how I missed it on the menu. However, I think it would be good without stew peas. I didn’t say anything to the waiter bc most Caribbean places are always mean when making a complaint but the waiter I had noticed and offered twice to swap it out. Hibiscus glazed lamp chops 1000/10! Because of how nice the waiter was it made me really happy. Definitely would come back.

Food is succulent and delicious. My husband is vegan so he had a scrumptious mushroom dish. I had lamb chops. Everything was seasoned well and presented nicely. The drinks were also very good. It was a perfect date night!

I was recommended Omar's last night as a great place for Caribbean food in the area of NY we were in for a fashion show. I am soo glad I listened because this was the best food I've had in a while. I'm visiting from Los Angeles and am used to the heavy seasoning of Caribbean food there so I was elated to find that each item I ate had a beautifully balanced flavor and was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Coconut Crusted Soursop Glazed Salmon and a side order of Mac and cheese. The food was so good I had to stop myself from eating more even when I was full so I could take the rest home to have the next day: I also tried my friend's Lamb sliders and the plantains which were both delicious. The service was excellent. My waitress was super friendly and attentive and even gave me a great Ethiopian food recommendation. I loved the feel of the place. It felt like a seaside shack with the freshest food dropped into the middle of the city. I could've stayed for hours just vibing. I will 100% be back again.

My friend and I tried this restaurant on a Saturday evening. We made reservations. Once arrived, we were greeted and given menus. The space is very small. It was rather warm inside and we would've been better if we sat outside. I'm not sure if they have AC or not . I would hate to visit on an extremely hot day. Service was not bad however, the waitress asked for the check at least 4 times. I was given the bill after I told the waitress I was not ready . She then proceeded to come to the table 4x . Very rude. I was not notified of a table time limit , so I don't know why I was being rushed. The food was mediocre. They did not have a lot of menu items . I traveled all the way from queens to find out they did not have any shrimp taco doubles. I wanted to order a mojito, they did not have any mint. I then asked for a guava margarita, no guava. I ended up ordering the lamb chops with rice and peas. The rice was very flavorful. The lamb chops were basic. Nothing to talk about. We also ordered the fish fritters. They were fried very hard and were tough. Overall, I would not return. It's not worth the drive from queens.

The coconut curry oxtail with plantain grits was delicious. Highly recommend. My friend had the mushroom gnocchi and it was subpar. But the drinks were so mid. My martini came lukewarm. My friend margarita did too. I had to explain to the server that good customer service is sitting me at my reserved table because she decided to give it up to a walk in. She actually said "I wish I would've known you was here" when in fact I announced myself to her co worker. The service can be improved.

My first time trying Caribbean food! It was a bit hard to find the place because the name wasn't right on top of the door. But I was swiftly assisted once I came in. The decor was cute and gave me island vibes. I chose where I wanted to sit and they set me up with menus on their iPad. I didn't know the coconut oxtail came with a side, but I chose rice and beans. My friend got the jerk chicken with mac n cheese as her side. If you pick the lobster mac n cheese as your side, there is an up charge of $10. The lamb sliders were very flavorful. The sauce reminded me of greek flavors. My oxtail dish had a bit of fat but even when I avoided it, i was still super full from the meat left. I love their version of dumplings that was inside the curry. It reminds me of gnocchi but just longer. The curry wasn't too spicy, but the jerk chicken was. I never knew what jerk exactly was but it might just be a spicy flavoring. The chicken was huge but it had a bone. The mac n cheese was okay but more fun- I prefer it over the rice. I think for birthdays they give free shots but i'm not too sure. I also saw parrot on their menu and that seems interesting so maybe i'll come back again!

Food was so tasty and authentic. The portions are reasonable big. We sat outside, not sure if they have outside seating still. The server was very helpful in deciding what to get.

I wanted to give this spot five stars. The vibe, the ambiance, the staff, the clientele, all FIVE STARS. The drinks, four stars. The food--at least the food I had--was not great, to put it nicely. This is a laid back venue that serves Caribbean/Jamaican inspired food, as well as rum/tropical drinks. It plays great music--r&b, hiphop, island music (sorry, I don't know the right term). The patrons are lively. The service is attentive and down to earth. The decor is very cool. My food was what tripped me up. I got the coconut crusted salmon with a small salad and mushrooms. The salad and mushrooms were forgettable. The salmon was just plain bad. There was a congealed substance on it and it didn't seem fresh. Now, I probably just messed up and got the wrong thing. Their oxtail, jerk chicken, and some of the other dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen looked much more palatable. I expected my drinks to have a little more flavor, but they were decent, and served with a smile. I would try this place again, simply because I think it's my bad for choosing the salmon. And again, the people running this spot are AWESOME!

Street parking is available, nice Caribbean vibe, good music and it's intimate service is good! I also had the lychee martini it was really really good!

When you first walk into this place, you definitely get island vibes; HOWEVER, the music is terribly loud and the space is super small. They will not turn it down if you ask lol. So don't bother. This place was a good vibe for a big group. Definitely not for a date night. The food was good, not great. I was ready to order the chicken sandwich because I honestly have jerk chicken every time I go to a Jamaican spot and wanted to switch it up. I also don't trust everyone's oxtail so I didn't even try. When ordering the chicken sandwich I imagined eating it with fries and well...they ran out of fries. I get that our reservation was late (8:30pm) but fries are such a simple thing to have on hand. So I was soooo sad. Had to end up having the jerk chicken. It was okay. The rice and peas were way too sweet for my liking. Everyone else in my group lovvvved their food so maybe im a little hyper critical but the typical jerk chicken and rice and peas could have been better. One thing is for sure though. That rum punch will get you F**king lit. We got two pitchers.

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar provides a great vibe but the food, not so much. I learned about Omar's from social media during the pandemic and I've wanted to visit ever since. What better time to visit than to celebrate my birthday in February. Myself and 3 other friends excitedly stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. I easily made a reservation via OpenTable about 3 weeks ahead. We ran late with some of my party arriving before others however, the staff worked with us. Once inside, you'll feel like you've stepped into an old-school Caribbean shop. Being Jamaican myself, it felt nostalgic. The space is small but trendy - there's dim lighting, handwritten art on the walls, and a small bar by the kitchen. In addition, the bathroom is uniquely decorated with vinyl covers of some classic reggae and dancehall albums/singles. We dined during the week of Valentine's day and it was packed. I'm not sure if it was because of the holiday or if its normally that busy, but it was packed and we felt cramped. Aside from that, the vibe was great. There was a live DJ playing a mix of R&B/Hip-Hop, Reggae/dancehall, and Soca, while the crowd was pretty laid back and mature. I loved it! The menu features traditional Caribbean dishes, some of which have been elevated uniquely. I skipped appetizers and went straight for the Jerk BBQ Glazed Lamb with a side of rice and peas (no white rice available), a fresh salad, and a bottle of Ting. Food was up within a reasonable amount of time. Firstly, the lamb was disappointing but the portion size was good (4 chops). I gave one to my friend and proceeded to eat the last 3. When I got to the third piece, it was undercooked. By undercooked, I mean it was very pink with a rigid texture. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary with the other pieces nor did my friend. Secondly, the taste was just alright. It was reminiscent of a smoky-BBQ sauce versus a Jerk sauce or spice. I'm also not sure if the chops were grilled or baked, but they could have benefitted from a better searing prior to the end preparation method. Next, the rice and peas were dry. I asked the server for side of curry gravy and she came back with some type of cream sauce that had veggies in it, I think it was for the Rasta pasta dish on the menu. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I asked for either. I tried to call the server over to swap it out but could never catch her, so I ended up putting it to the side. When I finally did get her attention, I let her know about the undercooked lamb. She apologized and noticed that my plate was pretty much complete (except for the raw lamb) then asked why I didn't tell her sooner. I let her know that the undercooked lamb was the last item on my plate to consume and I did not notice anything odd until I got to it. She apologized again and left. I'm not sure if she let the cook or a manager know, but she did not take my plate. We also were not comped for that issue. Omar's is known for their curry oxtails. I had a chance to try a portion of it from my friend's plate. Aesthetically, it looked delicious. The curry gravy had a nice color, taste, and texture to it however, the oxtail itself was tough. Oxtail should fall off the bone, but that was not the case here and it obviously needed more time to cook. In addition, the ratio of meat to bones was disproportionate for the price, in my opinion. My other friends who had oxtail dishes at the table had the same sentiment. Lastly, I was provided a slice of pistachio cheesecake on the house (perhaps that was the comp for the lamb?) with a sparkler to celebrate my birthday. I really enjoyed that and found the cheesecake to be delicious. The texture was creamy and the flavor was balanced. All-in-all, I was a little disappointed with the food but the vibe was great. In terms of pricing, everything seemed reasonable for the area and items offered. I also appreciated that the menus were offered on a tablet and included descriptions with photos. Service was friendly however, it was hard getting the server's attention at times, and given the loud music, it was hard to communicate with her. I also think they could've done a better job addressing the undercooked lamb chop as food safety should be a priority. I would return if I were in the area but it would only be for appetizers. Given the limited space, I feel like Omar's is better suited for happy hour or bar-style food. I'd recommend it for a date or outing with a small group of friends or co-workers for small bites but not a full meal. I'll be back but I won't run.

The guy I'm dating and I came here for valentines day and really enjoyed our meal before popping over to a show at Caveat. We got: - Stamp and Go: Plantain and saltfish fritters- we loved these. They are definitely heavily fried and greasy but in all the best ways. This is super rich and feels almost like a savory funnel cake fritter. The sauce paring that goes with this was also very delicious and married well with the deep fry of the fritter. - Honey Appleton Glazed Wings: finger-licking, sticky good sauce. The wings were exactly what I was hoping for. - Jerk BBQ glazed Lamb: I didn't try this, but my partner really seemed to like the meat and overall flavor. It was nice that it comes with a side of your choice. They were unfortunately out of Mac and Cheese, which was a bummer because we really wanted to try theirs. We both got 2 drinks and loved them. They took awhile to get to us but the Rum Punch was a favorite. The interior is cute, but it is definitely time to make some repairs and maybe update the seating. You can tell the atmosphere has been well loved by the seating that is starting to be stripped of it's color and texture. The table we were sat at was also quite wobbly. A bit make-shift. Definitely a laid-back vibe, which was nice and casual. I would come back to try some other fun, yummy Caribbean dishes. 4/5

Im adding Omar's to the list of restaurants that look good on social media , but are different in real life. Omar's is off the Williamsburg bridge pass Delancey Street. It is small , holds approx 25 people and they have a bar area. Reservations are accepted but I recommend walking in. The vibe , music and decor was nice. The menu offers a variety of Jamaican dishes , but lacks flavor. We ordered jerk BBQ wings , cod fish fritters , stew salmon , peas & rice , lamb chops with mac & cheese. I did not taste the Caribbean herbs and spices I was craving. I will recommend the lamb chops , they were cooked just right, a nice char on the outside but tender on the inside. However , it's going to take more than a charred lamb chop to get me to visit Omar's again. Lastly. as a rum bar , I expected more rum punch options. The drinks have catchy names "Dutty Wine" Dance Hall Queen" If your in the area check it out. It was not worth the drive for me !

Booked a reservation online at 3:00 for 4:00. It was my daughter's birthday and we came from Massachusetts. The online website said they don't open till 4:00. We got there for 3:50 but it was already open and packed. It's a small restaurant. I asked the hostess about my reservations she said she. And honor it because it was just booked and they're packed right now. Why have opening for people to book it you can't accommodate or have enough space for your customers. The Hostess was very dismissive and gave us a hey it what it is type of attitude. I haven't tried the food. Always wanted to. My rate is extremely based off of customer service or lack thereof....

A tiny restaurant serving Caribbean food. It was my first time to have Caribbean food so I was not sure if it was authentic. But overall I enjoyed the dishes. I ordered their oxtail as entrée and added a side plantain. The oxtail was super amazing. Fall-of-the-bone meat tossed with curry sauce, cooked with herbs and some South American dumplings. While I do not like the texture of steak, I found the oxtail pretty delicious. It was not only softer than steak and also had more layers of flavor, e.g., the tendon was gelatinous. I also found the curry had a distinct spicy flavor from Indian or Thai curry. Another great thing was the bean-rice mix served with the oxtail. The rice was soft enough (unlike most restaurants which serve hard, half-raw rice), and the beans added some fiber to the whole dish! Compared to the entrée, the fried plantains were much less surprising. Service was a bit slow, seemed like they need more stuff. Besides, For salad I requested sauce on the side but at first the kitchen forgot about it. Another thing was that when I just got seated my table was still wet with some leftovers. In short, I enjoyed the food very much; it would be better if the restaurant was cleaner and provided better service.

Pretty cool spot in the LES with Caribbean cuisine. Great that they had vegan options clearly labeled! The vegan jerk beyond meat sliders were yummy- tasty and filling. There was hummus on it too which was interesting. The vegan rasta pasta dish was flavorful and full of spices. Not the creamy rasta pasta I've had other places but perhaps just a variation! It was almost more like a spiced curry and a bit on the salty side. It was made with plantain gnocchi instead of regular pasta- very unique! It was very similar to regular potato gnocchi. Came on a weekend dinner time without a reservation and it was 45 min wait so would recommend a reservation. Service was average- not particularly quick. You kinda had to try and grab their attention. No major issues overall. Ambience was cool- not a huge spot with a bar area. They had a live DJ playing some great tracks! Overall a fun spot to visit.

Honestly, the experience was just okay for me. I was slightly disappointed because I've been wanting to go here for so long and I was left underwhelmed. The place has a nice chill Caribbean vibe, which I enjoyed but it was nothing like what I've seen on TikTok or Instagram. I will say that the drinks were a 10/10. I left feeling very nice. However the food did not do it for me. I got the chicken & waffles and while it is a classic brunch dish, this take on it was doing too much that I couldn't enjoy it like I wanted to. I saw other tables demolishing the wings, so maybe I should've have gone with that. While the customer service was warm and friendly, the service was a little slow. The restaurant is pretty small, so I guess they were busy but it took awhile to get our server's attention. The food also took a bit of time to come out. The restaurant definitely gave more of a hipster vibe rather than a Caribbean vibe in my opinion. I would definitely return for drinks if I was in the area, and maybe try out the wings that everyone was loving!

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar is a little slice of the Caribbean on the LES. There's beautiful murals, reggae music and Wray & Nephew flags that fill the restaurant and make you feel like you were transported to the islands. It was really easy to get a table on a weekday early evening. Our server was attentive, suggested different items on the menu and overall made our experience at Omar's a great one. Our favorite items from most favorite to least favorite was, + Lamb sliders on coco bread- If I could I would eat these every day lol + Rum infused bread pudding- Delicious!!! + Fire island- scotch bonnet cucumber infused margaritas. It was a little too spicy for my taste. Every time I'd take a sip I'd have to drink a gulp of water lol and I would consider myself someone who really enjoys spice. Not sure I would get this one again, especially on a hot day. + Rice & Peas and Festival - average + Escovitch Fish - not really for us ... lacked flavor Others things on the menu that I can't wait to try... + D'usse infused pound cake + Rum glazed wings + More of their brunch items Overall, we'll be back to visit this black-owned restaurant

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar was a restaurant I was so excited to visit after viewing it on TikTok. Sadly, I was disappointed. To be named a rum bar, there were very few rum options on the menu and the rum drink I ordered was pre made and extremely sweet. I ordered the jerk BBQ wings and was not pleased as the wings were not good at all and tasted like wings I could have purchased at a grocery store.

Because of schedules and life, it's been a bit since the last time my sisters and I got together. To celebrate one of my sister's pre-Birthday, my identical twin selected Omar's in Clinton St. on the Lower East Side for the occasion. While I understand the mixed, 'it's Americanized Caribbean food' reviews here, my sisters and I thought the food was good- maybe because we're not Jamaican. Beyond the bitters and wine, the bar is all about Jamaican classic add-ons such as sorrel, soursop (aka Guanábana), scotch bonnet peppers, etc. Even with our small meal selection on this day, they were tasty- except for our shared appetizer. Believe the reviews on the fritters. Caribbean cod (salt fish)(conch, or any other fish) fritters are suppose to hold more fish than a heavy hand of flour. You'll still need some flour (maybe an egg) to bind everything together to give the fritter its shape- but these were too doughy and we barely tasted the cod or the sweet plantain. Our main dishes were fantastic though. We actually ordered salmon plates in varying styles. My twin sister and I ordered the Broiled Salmon- topped with like a pineapply+mango+coconut+onion salsa and my other sisters ordered the Jerk BBQ Salmon. They were all winners. Plus the rice+peas side dish with small chunks of coconut, was heavenly. The classic reggae in the background was fine for the small space here and our server, Janice rocked throughout our Brunch. She answered ALL our questions with a smile- but we were also considerate not to overwhelm her and her time. If customer skills is what you're looking for, it's Janice!!! And by the way- don't let Omar's small space trick you. DEFINITELY RESERVE.

Super small, hipster vibes, Jamaican restaurant. Sat at the bar for happy hour 5-7pm, $10 cocktails. We tried all the different types of margaritas, all were good. Sorrel is more on the tart side than sweet. Bartender was very friendly. It was a Wednesday night so not too busy, but they only had 1 bartender and 1 waiter/ host so they were running up and down the whole night. Tried the shrimp double (which is actually a Trinidadian dish) after reading multiple Yelp reviews on how great they are, they were good but lacked flavor. Needed tamarind sauce and/ or pepper sauce which is how they are traditionally prepared. Heard a few complaints about the food since we were seated right by the host and kitchen area, so we decided not to have dinner there. I would recommend this spot for drinks/happy hour & appetizers.

OMG Omar's is amazing. I swung by here on a whim after a long day of work at the recommendation of a colleague and fell in love with the flavor of the food, the ambiance, and this delightful cocktail! I had the gnocchi, festivals, plantains, and a spicy cocktail that I can't recall the name of - but was amazing. I like spicy food, so the lovely server provided me with some great options and Bertie's won. It wasn't incredibly hot but had great flavor so it's a win. I will 100% be coming back!

I love Omar's I've been going there for years. The staff is awesome the owner is a sweetheart & the food is amazing. Unfortunately, I thought I got a picture of my favorite there which is the curry oxtail but I didn't. It's absolutely delicious. It's an intimate spot in the LES. I would definitely recommend.

Oof, my oxtail and grits were on point! What's that sauce, a rue? Idk but it was delicious and there was plenty of it. Definitely not lacking in flavor. My friend had the jerk chicken which she enjoyed but she did comment she wished there was a dry rub on the chicken instead of just sauce. I suppose that's her personal preference so do with that info what you will. I like that this is an authentic spot from the food, to the decor and the beautiful people of color who work here. Price point is about $25 - $35 for a brunch entrée. Street parking available.

I stopped by last night with my boyfriend. The place itself is pretty small & cozy. The reggae music was going, so that was fun. We had a reservation, and thank God we did because the place was packed. We started off with margaritas. I got a classic, and my boyfriend got the tamarind flavor. Both were really good, and whatever tequila they used was better than a house tequila. For our appetizer, we got the salt fish and plantains fritters. It was a great choice; they were delicious. I recommend this dish. The accompanying scotch bonnet garlic aioli was my absolute favorite! For my entree, I got the brown stew catfish, and my boyfriend had to get the jerk chicken, of course. I really enjoyed both dishes. My stewed catfish was nice and hot, with the perfect amount of spice. The rice and peas were also really tasty. The portion sizes are large and shareable, even if you're not too hungry. Overall, the food and service are good. It is slightly pricey for an app; for 2 drinks and 2 entrees, we paid about $160 with a tip. I would definitely return if I'm in the mood for Jamaican food!

This is a cute Caribbean spot on the Lower East Side that has great food and even better drinks. The drinks are creative and fun and the bartender was super engaged and allowed us to try not only drinks on the menu, but some others that they thought we would like. Once we were seated, we were served quickly and the food was great. Only downside about the food was that they were out of a few things on the menu when we went later in the evening (around 6pm). The restaurant has great music (can be a little loud if you are looking for a quieter dinner) and is a lot of fun. Another party was celebrating a birthday while we were there and they had sang and played music for the birthday. I would highly recommend this spot if you are looking for decent Caribbean food and a good vibe. Great place to go with friends.

Very tasty curry oxtail, with the exception that it could have been a bit more spicy. Came with a generous amount of sauce and meat. The side salad was also very good though a little wilty in spots. Service was decent. Only disappointment was that they were out of a few dessert items.

The portion sizes are quite large. The vibe is amazing . The wait staff is great. We were seated quickly. The waitress was on point, friendly, we were able to view and order our food rather quickly and were served just so. My Parter and I are full,our bellies are happy, and we still have enough food for another serving. I hope we are able to dine here again. If you love Caribbean food and are in the East village, give this place a go.

First of all, the restaurant has great ambiance. The location is great, and they've really maximized its potential. The food is the best Caribbean I've had in New York. It's so flavorful, so filling, and hits all the spots. The oxtail is incredible. The drinks are also amazing, and the options are numerous. Highly recommend this spot for any meal. You won't be disappointed

YALL!!! let's talk about Omar's. If you asked me what was the most memorable thing about this trip, it would have to be Omar's. Granted this night almost took me out...(like I was out for the count) buttttt I still had an AMAZING time!!! Give me a place with food, drinks, and good music and you know ima show out. I loved the vibe here, it was a little small and I didn't think we'd have anywhere to sit, but we found four spots at the bar so it worked perfectly. From the food to the drinks, Omar's has my heart. I'm definitely visiting this spot every time I go to New York now, it's a must!!!!

This is a cute little Caribbean spot in the LES. Came with a group for brunch and had a great time! The music was bumping, drinks were flowing and the food was amazing. We shared fritters and the plantain boat. I tried both the curry oxtail and escovitch fish. I preferred the brown stew fish variation over the escovitch. Loved the oxtail! They were kind and split the checks within our table with no trouble at all. Loved the decor on the walls with album covers throughout. Omar who owns the spot was also our server. I was a fan-would go back.

Finally, I was able to visit this place and I must say, did not disappoint. The waiter was very attentive and food did not disappoint. My only wish, to have more vegan/vegetarian options. I had the plantain gnocchi with jerk mushrooms and though it was good, I'm not a mushroom fan. Everything else, including the Shotta Love story drink was hitting. It reminded me of some spots back home (Guyana). I truly enjoyed the vibes.

I wanted to visit this spot for awhile now. The service was super friendly, but lagged. My friends and I waited a bit too long to have our orders taken, and even a little longer to be served. The restaurant is very small; it's actually cramped and the seating isn't comfortable. The food is not bad, it's just not overwhelmingly good. The dishes were Caribbean, but definitely didn't taste like it. My palate was not satisfied. My friends and I had shrimp tacos, fritters, wings, catfish, oxtail, salmon, mac & cheese, rasta pasta, and plantains. The only thing I can say I liked was the sweet plantains. So much so, I ordered an additional side in the hopes of feeling satisfied. Is this a young, hip place, with great music, to see and be seen? Yes. Is it a place to dine, relax, and leave feeling your appetite has been quenched? Unfortunately, no.

Why did the union of curry & Oxtails never occur to me at any point in my life??? and I'm Jamaican. I highly recommend the curry oxtail with rice & peas. Very tender. The catfish & waffles were perfect! No overbearing earthy taste in the fish and the lamb was great, they'll cook it through so request Med rare or whatever your preference is when othering that. They stuck everyone in a corner with no fan or air so we moved to the part of the joint with all of that. The Ambiance is chill. Good place for a meeting or date. Service: they could be a bit more attentive and watch the beverage levels at the table.

Found this restaurant on Instagram and couldn't wait to give them a try. Now I know what all the hype is about ! My food and service was 10/10 ! I came for Sunday brunch and Bottomless was very much bottomless with great flavor options for my mimosas. The decor inside was chic Caribbean style along with heated outdoor seating. YOU MUST TRY THE DOUBLES !!

Came here to have brunch with my Best friends. Upon walking in the music was on point. You had to have a reservation. We went on a Saturday at 4p it was small but cozy. They had their menu on a tablet which was different. The owner ((Omar)) was out and about working and talking to his guest which is great! My friends n I almost tried every on the menu lol Food: PS. Some appetizers where not picture cause we were hungry and it was soooooo good. We had the Appleton Rum Chicken Wings, "stamp and Go" Plantain & Saltfish Fritters, Chicken and Waffles, Coconut Crusted Soursap Glazed Salmon, Hibiscus Glazed Lamb, Shrimp Doubles Taco. My friends loved the doubles i cant eat chickpeas however i tasted the shrimp and it was very flavorful. Everything we had was sooo good i was full and still took home food. We had a mimosas with soursap, and another soursap drink which was places in the ice but it was so good. Then we had shots of rum to end our night and i was highly pleased. I highly recommend coming here to the lower Manhattan location.

I had this place bookmarked for a while and decided to come here with my cousin and his girlfriend who were visiting from out of town. I'm so happy I brought them here. The food was amazing. I tried the shrimp doubles tacos, the plantain gnocchi and the hibiscus glazed lamb. Everything was soooo yummy. I really loved the tacos. They were so flavorful. I would go back just for those. My cousin really enjoyed the wings. The drinks were okay to me. We tried a few different ones. My favorite was the spicy patron mango margarita. The service was great and so were the vibes. If you're looking for that and good food, definitely come check this place out!

I'm giving this restaurant two stars for the service and the food. Simply put, the food was a huge disappointment and so was the service. The fritters were served to us cold, and they did not taste fresh. Our server was nowhere to be found when we looked to ask if they could be heated up at the very least. After looking at the reviews we also decided to order the mac & cheese and wings. Both were terrible! The mac & cheese had so much potential but that odd smoked flavor ruined it. My only positive feedback was that the drinks were delicious. If you're running late or have a question, don't bother calling. I called the restaurant several times to let them know I was running late and didn't want to miss my reservation. No one answered and when we got there we noticed the entire staff was ignoring the phone. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

This place was cozy and cute. The food portions were excellent. The whole vibe and experience was Great!! I highly recommend.!!!

Enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon with my daughter and fiancée here. We ordered catfish and waffles, oxtail and grits, and doubles tacos. I have to say we were actually surprised by the amount of food we got, and how full we were afterward. Instant "nap" status. The itis was strong within. My pillows were screaming for my presence.

Great vibes, great service, great flavors, great music, great drinks... But the price tag is waaaaay too HIGH! With so much Caribbean food in the melting pot of NYC the price$$$$ for Omar's was so disrespectful... so splurge if you must but get every pennie's worth :) #Enjoygoodpeople!

Loved everything about this place. Food was excellent, staff was very friendly and the music was ON POINT. I mean I can listen to Popcaan, Vubz, Shesnsea allllll daaaay. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea but I love dancehall music. We got wings for an appetizer, and entrees of curry oxtail, shrimp and plantains gnocchi, and the lamb with a side of Mac and cheese. I honestly have not tasted lamb that was so good ...EVER. Oxtail was on point, I was too full from all the food so we only took a bite of the plantain gnocchi but it was amazing. Food comes out very quickly too. For the location and the portion of the food I almost could say the prices are cheap. Can't wait to try again, there are some other appetizers that I would like to try.

The ambiance was perfect for a chill Sunday- with Caribbean music blasting thru the speakers. I enjoyed the brunch menu and the drinks were made well. We were served at a decent time - about 10-15mins. The restaurant is small with tables tightly packed together. So, I would suggest come early.

We planned a Sunday girls day to just relax and meet up and check out Omar's Kitchen since we kept hearing so much about it. The inside is not that big but that's not an issue when the food is good. Lol - Well, the oxtail was very flavorful and the rice and peas Was nice and soft. One thing I dislike is hard rice and I was thankful it was not hard. The chicken and waffles was tasty. The environment was lively and the music was also good. Great spot for Jamaican food. Check them out if you are in LES.

It's ok I think every restaurant is worth a try. Def a sit down place. Staff was friendly, extra star for that.food was meh in my opinion but if youre in the mood for carribean you should go

My friend and I went here on a Wednesday evening at around 5pm with no reservations and was seated immediately. I like in Brooklyn and it was about a 45 mins drive but I like the fact that it isn't located in the overly busy area of Manhattan because I was able to get parking (metered of course) just a half block away We even had the optioned either in or outside. I LOVE the ambiance of this place! The outside is like a beautiful floral garden, meanwhile the inside gives u a nice Jamaican vibe from all the writings and decorations, to the music. Another thing that I really LOVED was the playfulness of the names of the drinks. If you're Jamaican then you know :) The drinks were okay. To start we had the "lover's leap" and the "pump up har Pum Pum" which were tasty but not strong AT ALL! For the second round I went for the "George's valley rum punch" which was much better and packed a good punch, while my friend opted for a regular "ting". The food, now this was the absolute best! To start, I had the wings which were very tasty! Personally I like my wings on the crispier side but that aside it was really good! And my friend had the "stamp & go" plantain and saltfish fritters. She said it was really good but I can't co-sign because I don't eat plantains (yeahh I know, I've had my Jamaican card revoked way too many times wen people hear this lol). For our main course we both opted for the escovitch fish; now the best part of this for me was the fact that they served the parrot fish instead of the snapper fish which pretty much all other Jamaican and Caribbean style restaurants serve. I love snappers too but parrot fish is so much meatier! This was served with festivals (2) and plantains. The serving size was more than enough! We had to take some to go. Now the service! We were greeted as soon as we walked up and asked if we wanted to sit in or out. Our waiter was good, he was on point with getting what we needed when we wanted something but it wasn't anything above average. However, the owner/chef Omar came over and spoke to us briefly to see how we were enjoying everything. This is huge! First, because I love when the owners are hands-on with their business because it shows that is more of a passion for them. He was very personable and was keen on ensuring we were having a good experience. We gave him some honest feedback that the food was amazing but the drinks could use some more alcohol. He was very receptive to our suggestions and offered us the next round on the house with an extra shot! We gladly accepted and boom! the extra shots put the drinks right on the money! I posted pics/videos on my social media and all my friends were drooling and wanting to know where! I'm usually stingy with sharing some of my spots lol but I was more than happy to share this one so they could go experience the greatness themselves! I will definitely be back!

I finally tried Omar's Kitchen on April 6. I call this Nouveau Caribbean cuisine. (Lol, just made that up.) Dinner and cocktails were pleasing. The curry oxtails were different but very appetizing. I'm use to it being browned and stewed. The mango coconut soursop salsa was the perfect compliment to the salmon. The rice had the right amount of flavor (coconut milk). They make a really good pepper sauce. Don't get the hot sauce get the pepper sauce!! We also tried the shrimp doubles and saltfish fritters. The shrimp double were good and served like a taco. Try the Lovers Leap which is a Sorrel Sangria, the Georges Valley Rum Punch and Stabbin Cabin for cocktails. (Hint: you can get the carafe size for $55.) It's worth it. Our server Shane was sweet and accommodating. I loved that the bathroom wallpaper is made out of reggae album covers. Their outdoor dining has the barricades between the tables and they played some good classic reggae. This place can get packed so reservations is highly suggested.

Wasn't worth it! The food was ok! Service was good. The outdoor seating smelled like a dead rat midway into Our dinner.

The ambience is a vibe the service excellent but the food left something to be desired. The food was lacking flavor but they did have some great hot sauces. The drinks fantastic! I'd try it again.

(Literally Doubles in Taco Form) The Sorrel Glaze and texture for the lamb was good, but the lamb itself didn't have much taste. I wouldn't recommend I enjoyed the oxtail! It was different and filling Drinks were flavorful and the dried fruit on top was a nice touch Overall this place is definitely a must to try
