OMG Shawarma in Greenwich Village serves up crave-worthy Israeli-style shawarma, with juicy veal and chicken, all perfectly piled in warm pitas.
"Located on n Sixth Ave. in Greenwich Village, OMG Shawarma is a fast casual spot for those lazy days where you just can’t bring yourself to figure out dinner for yourself. Whether you’re going for veal, chicken, schnitzel, or falafel, get it in a pita—the cook will cut it open with a box cutter. Stuff it with your choice of Mediterranean toppings, like hummus, baba ganoush, cabbage, and pickles. We like to get a mix of chicken and veal shawarma for $17. The veal is sweet and gets cooked with lamb fat, and the chicken is well-spiced. No matter what you order, it’ll taste even better when you take it to your couch and eat while watching your comfort sitcom for the third time through. Get a swipe of spicy chili sauce, amba, and pickles to balance out the rich and crispy shawarma. photo credit: Will Hartman Chicken Schnitzel A perfectly good chicken schnitzel, but there are better cutlets in the neighborhood. If you come here often, get this to mix things up. photo credit: Will Hartman Falafel Freshly pressed then fried, these falafel are crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and plenty moist. At $12 for six pieces though, other items are better value." - Will Hartman
