Exciting Restaurants to Try in San Jose 2025 | Eater

"Buldak chicken, a contemporary Korean dish that’s topped with bubbling cheese, is the star of the menu at this Japantown hotspot. Served in a scalding hot pan, the dish is topped with melted mozzarella and just enough gochujang to tickle your palate. More traditional Korean dishes like kimchi jeongol, japchae, tofu bibimbap, and soon doo boo are available here too and served with an assortment of banchan. (Situated on the edge of Japantown, the restaurant’s wide tables leave plenty of room to add on more to your order.)" - Christina Marie Mueller

Absolutely fabulous. The Kimchi Che gae, Doin Jang Chin Gae, Dumpling soup, Kimchi jeongal, Yuk Ghe jang, potstickers, flaming fondue chicken, wings, spicy chicken… I could go on and pretty much list everything on the menu but suffice it to say EVERYTHING I’ve had here is so delicious and the banchan options rotate and are always scrumptious. Family run, kind and accommodating staff. I’ve been coming here for almost a decade and I highly recommend it. WONDERFUL!

Had Omogari on my to-try for the longest time and finally got to visit for a weekend dinner. Had a 10min wait and we were seated inside! The interior is warm and inviting and service is great. We ordered the kimchi stew, bulgogi, and pork rib fondue. Our favorite was the bulgogi with its good meat quality, tender/juicy bite, and authentic flavor. Would recommend if you're in the area and craving some good Korean food! Parking: it was easy for us despite it being weekend dinner in JTown; we also appreciated the free street parking on Sundays.

Google
The restaurant is kind of small and there’s no waiting area. You’ll need to wait outside. Parking can be difficult to find at times and you’ll need to pay for street parking. The food is great here! My wife loves their beef tofu soup. I love their Meat Jun. it’s the best meat jun that I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend these 2 dishes. The food also comes with some sides such as broccoli, potatoes, kimchi, etc.

I recently dined at SJ Omogari in Japantown and was delighted by how familiar and satisfying everything felt. The spicy bulgogi was incredibly flavorful with a perfect blend of firm yet tender. The kimchi fried rice was extremely delicious! The Japchae was such a hit, almost all of it was gone before the main courses! Service was friendly and attentive, and I appreciated being able to sit outside on their new patio. Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but it moved quickly, and once I tasted the food, it was clear why this place stays popular. SJ Omogari is a delightful go-to for hearty Korean comfort food in a relaxed, welcoming space.

Google
Loved Omagari. We got a few dishes to split, such as the kimchi pancakes, the pork ribs, and the bulgogi. Loved all three, as well as the delicious banchan. Will definitely be back!

Google
This restaurant was a last minute find for a large group of 14. We had one long table and a small table that fit 4. I didn’t expect that much given this Korean restaurant was situated in Japan town, but I was pleasantly surprised. We shared LA Galbi, Spicy Rice Cake with Ramen (pretty mid and not enough flavor), army stew (not enough broth), and Spicy Stir Fried Squid (which was the best out of all; sweet and spicy). The banchan were all tasty, esp the bean sprouts and pickled radish. Loved the makgeolli which paired well with everything we had. The service was okay; a bit slow but they were pretty busy so understandable. If you’d like to try Korean food, would recommend.

Google
Omogari is popping here in the Japantown neighborhood and I was excited to dine here with some friends in their outdoor patio. With a long line for Korean food and indoor/outdoor seating, be sure to use the Yelp waitlist if you can to get ahead of the wait. They have classic Korean dishes with fairly generous portions from what I could tell. Limited veggie options (and you'll have to ask to make sure something can be fully plant-based/vegan), but I was happy to see they could make their Mushroom Sundubu with veggie stock. I ordered that spicy and it luckily also came with rice. The sundubu was fantastic and hit every note I could want from a tofu stew. Loved the veggies, the broth was not too salty, and the accompanied banchan was great with the meal. Service was also pretty fast considering how busy they were and they checked in on us for just the right amount of time. Thanks Omogari for a great dinner experience.

Yelp
There is seating inside and outside. The outside has heat lamps so you don't need to worry about being cold. We came for the meet June since we had read the reviews. It is pretty good :) We've had better but it was pretty solid. We also had the beef short ribs which was sweet and the flaming fondue chicken was yummy. Customer service left a little to be desired. W weren't always checked on so you really have to get attention of the wait staff. That is a little annoying if they don't seem terribly busy. My one ding is that you need to check your bill when you pay. They calculated your tip based on the total which included tax whereas tip is usually calculated on the subtotal without tax. Otherwise, I'd say this is not a bad place to come for food.

Yelp
my party of two showed up around 630 and we needed to leave around 7 and i joined the yelp waitlist but we didn't even need to use it and got seated immediately. the tables were so crowded, i really wished we had time for galbijjim, but will try for it next time when we have more time seafood pancake 5/5: SO crunchy and delicious this was amazing i really recommend japchae 4/5: decent not bad, just a large amount of japchae that we were just looking for something shareable and fast and not spicy and not soupy bc the weather was warm othside. 2 of us, banchan: kimchi nice and fresh, broccoli is nice and crunchy, dicon is pickled, regular potato nice and soft, bean sprouts refreshing.

Yelp
My wife and I visited SJ Omogari awhile ago. It's nice to see them going strong and still serving the community. They've remodeled and now offer both indoor and outdoor seating opportunities. The staff are super nice. Today, I ordered takeout for my mom. *Beef Short Ribs (4/5). Slightly flame-kissed in all the right places of this lightly marinated short ribs. The banchan included was a good variety, though only 1 spicy one, the kimchi. Support your local business.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night around 6pm. Surprisingly, Japantown was really empty at the time, and it was really easy to find street parking. The restaurant was half empty, albeit it was still considered early for dinner service. We were seated immediately and could order quickly. We ordered the seafood pancake, japchae, and bbq beef with bean sprout. Seafood pancake is a must at every Korean restaurant I visit, and the one here did not disappoint! The batter was packed with seafood and fried to a perfect crispiness. Not to mention, the portion was relatively large. I expected the japchae to be cold but it was warm (and good nonetheless, I guess I just expected it to be different haha). The noodles were already stuck together by the time the dish arrived at our table, but that's to be expected of glass noodles. The flavor profile was on the sweeter side with hints of savory. The bbq beef was a generous portion - the beef was tender and there were plenty of cabbage and bean sprouts. I probably wouldn't order both the japchae and bbq beef with bean sprout at the same time -- just because the flavor profile and ingredients of both dishes tasted relatively the same. The bbq beef did have more of a spice kick to it, but again, flavor profiles relatively the same. Still tender and satiating regardless. Would visit again and try other dishes!

Yelp
Had come here before and decided to order the same things. I brought my partner here when I wanted to celebrate getting my promotion. The vibe is very much like a dive pub with really good food and beers to enjoy with friends. This was the BBQ ribs and Shakin Beef Fondue which I found on TikTok and led me here in the first place. Both times the same experience was epic. The flavors on the ribs, the crispy cheese from the sizzling plate. We definitely went for a walk around SJ after this. The food is really straightforward savory which is really good when you have a craving to be full but also want to be with others. The portions are huge which allows me to share with my partner and I can see me bringing 2 more coworkers and sharing these two items with 4 people. Overall the best when it comes to portions

Yelp
Cute little restaurant in Japan Town, parking was difficult but worth the hassle! The food was comforting and ambiance was cozy. This place is usually crowded with limited seating, but they have yelp waitlist which saves some time. We got the Pork Spare Rib and Yuk Gae Jang which were good portion sizes. They had a cheese option for the Pork Spare Rib, which we didn't get but presentation seemed cool! The ribs were tender and flavor was similar to a nice sweet bbq. Yuk Gae Jang was comforting and not super spicy. Our dishes came with banchan (kimchi, bean sprouts, broccoli, potato) which were solid. I would come back to try some of their signature dishes!

Yelp
Parking: On the streets Ambience: We sat out in the patio and it was very clean, simple , not over crowded - liked it. Service: Quick and they checked multiple times on how was the food. Shout out to Cody for his service. Food - Spicy Wings, Galbi, Chicken bimbim bap and an assortment of kimchis. Good quality and taste, clay pot really keeps the food hot. Definitely planning to revisit.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant, had to come back a second time with the family. Warm comforting home cooked food vibes here. Flaming fondue chicken was spicy, but wish it had different veggies rather than the "frozen" mix of peas carrots and corn that weren't seasoned.

Yelp
Mixed Stone pot rice is fire!! I ordered beed. Highly recommended. Exceptional service!!! Ambiance is perfect! There's also patio seating.

Yelp
Stumbled across this gem after getting a tattoo over the weekend! I was craving some soup after a long day and found this place serving Kalguksu so obviously I had to check it out. It was a Saturday evening so it was quite busy. I recommend getting on the waitlist through yelp before showing up or you'll have to wait for some time. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I saw that the outdoor seating had heating lamps so don't worry about getting cold. Once seated inside, I ordered the beef kalguksu and the pork katsu. I was very happy about the unlimited side dishes and almost filled up on those before the food arrived. The fish cake was my favorite! The broth of the kalguksu was light in flavor so I asked for some pepper to spice it up a little. If you like light broths that have a depth of flavor, you'll love this dish. The noodles were a perfect consistency. It had some give to it without being too chewy. There were also plenty of vegetables in the bowl, which paired perfectly with the beef shreds in the broth. I wasn't a big fan of the katsu as it was very chewy and the breading didn't stick to it, but the sauce it came with was delicious. I definitely want to come back and try other dishes some day!

Yelp
Overall good experience. Food is great depending on what you get. Some items are mid and not worth the price you're paying. Kimchi Fried Rice - 5/5 Beef Galbi - 5/5 Pork Spare Ribs - 3/5 Seafood Pancake - 3/5 Soy Garlic Wings - 2/5 Free street parking after 6pm. Might get tough on busy nights.

Yelp
Whoa amazing food- the bulgogi tender and has Smokey flavor, and the spicy pork tender and flavorful but my favorite is the spicy squid stir fry it reminds me of the Taiwanese stir fry shop 快炒店 with everything perfectly cooked vegetable crunchy and sweet and the squid is perfectly cooked the hosts are gracious and despite being so busy they try their best to take care of everyone! We will be back!!

Yelp
Finally tried SJ Omogari after living near it for 2 years! I've seen this place can sometimes have a wait so I went when it opened at 11:30 on a Saturday. Thankfully we didn't need to wait and were seated right away. The inside is small but I didn't notice till leaving that there's plenty of outdoor seating as well. I ordered the short rib bibimbap and shared the fried tofu appetizer with my friend. The banchan here is excellent, I love their kimchi, broccoli, and potato. Our banchan never got refilled though, which I was a little bummed about. The bibimbap was excellent, came out still crackling and sizzling, which I love! The rice crisped perfectly at the bottom, so just remember to give it a scrape when mixing everything together. I thought the ratio of rice to vegetables was good, but did feel they skimped on the meat. Most bites I felt didn't have meat at all, so that was my only complaint. The fried tofu was okay, felt strange that it didn't come with any sauce. I will likely come back sometime to try some of their signature dishes like the chicken fondue!
google avatar

Kelsey T.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in jtown! The chicken fondue is to die for. If you're a cheese lover then you will love sj omogari. They put a lot of cheese. The chicken is also not too spicy. The kimchi fried rice was also very great! Compared to other restaurants, I can tell they sauté their onions separately which brings out a lot of flavor and makes it taste really good. The staff were very friendly and brought out our food very quickly. Definitely come early if you don't want to wait in line, but since there are no reservations, the line during the weekends may be long since the restaurant is small.

Yelp
TLDR; Homey Korean spot with a wonderful outdoor patio in Japantown! I caught up with an old friend here, and it was perfect. We came here 2 days before Christmas Day, so it wasn't very busy, especially on the outdoor patio. Our server was really nice, and checked in on us often. Food came out pretty quick too! Most of the menu are items to share, but you can definitely get your own dish too, like the soups and soondubu. Portions weren't too big, too small! We ordered: Pork Spare - Rib Dae Ji Gal Bi with Cheese (4/5): Oh man the cheese was so good. The sauce can get a little messy, but this was definitely flavorful and filling. Beef Short Rib Galbi (4/5): The beef was kind of tough, but still flavorful! Your standard short rib dish!!! A bit expensive for the size, but to be expected for this type of cut. Seafood Kalguksu (3/5): As a kalguksu fanatic, I was a bit disappointed by this dish! The noodles were on the softer side, maybe too soft for my liking. I love it when my noodles are chewy and bouncy, esp for this dish. The broth was really good when it was fresh and warm, but once it cooled off a little, the clammy seafood flavor became too pronounced. Not a bad dish, just not the best I've had! I would come here again bc the ambience is so open and comfortable! Plus, comfort Korean dishes are always a bop. And you can get dessert across the street or walk around Japantown afterward!

Yelp
I love love love their kimchi pancake - it's perfectly crispy!!! I'm so sad that I can't come to this place often because I don't live nearby

Yelp
Fantastic food every dish was tasty and the servers were kind and helpful with their suggestions. The galbi was the perfect texture and flavor. Even the vegetarian options were seasoned so well and they asked my mom specifically what type of vegetarian (are eggs okay, fish sauce etc) and tailored accordingly. The japchae was so flavorful and we also tried the soy garlic wings which I forgot to take a picture of but were sooo good. Would recommend joining the Yelp waitlist before arriving to time your arrival since this place is always super busy!

Yelp
The food was very good . It came very fast and fresh food . They did help my friend what liquor he want to drinks
google avatar

Yelp
Really nice manager! We sat outside and service was really quick. Decent pricing and really solid portions. The japchae was super good and was definitely meant to be eaten family style. The tofu soup was nice and spicy too which I appreciated. Quick refills on bonchon too!

Yelp
Pretty underwhelming Korean food. The tteokbokki rice cakes were mushy and overcooked, while the ramen noodles were tough and undercooked. The sauce leaned overly sweet with no spice to balance it out. The seafood pancake was crispy, but it was mostly batter with very little actual seafood.
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot. Located in Japan town and usually not too difficult to find a metered parking spot within a few blocks. They have indoor seating a nice outdoor patio adjacent to the restaurant. Service here is consistent and the employees are friendly and efficient. The banchan here are yummy and I love their kimchee. Our fav items here are the beef short ribs (AMAZING, although a bit pricey at $33), the sweet chicken, and the jap chae. Portions are big enough to share and the proteins make for great leftovers!
google avatar

Willy T.

Yelp
I came here in a party of 6 on a Friday at 7:50, which is an hour before closing. Parking was pretty difficult to find and it took us several laps before we found some street parking nearby. We were seated outside and we did a family style meal. We ordered a seafood pancake, beef and tofu bibimbap, short ribs, bulgogi, jabchae, and spicy beef soup. The food is on the pricier side but is very good. The seafood pancake was intended to be our appetizer but it was one of the last items to arrive. However, it was really good! The biggest letdown was the Yuk Che Jang (spicy beef soup). It wasn't spicy and had very little flavor, almost as if an ingredient was missing. As always, the crispy rice at the bottom of the bibimbap is super satisfying. The grilled meat and jap chae were also great. Overall I'm very satisfied with my experience here and can see myself returning to try different menu items.
google avatar

Yelp
Korean comfort food! I ordered mushroom tofu soup for a cold night, and the smell was so mouthwatering I almost burned my tongue from being so impatient. I appreciate that they add zucchini to boost the soup's nutrition, but keep the pieces small enough that it cooks fairly quickly. I do wish there was a bit more variety in mushrooms in the soup, though, but I understand that certain mushrooms can get fairly expensive. What I really enjoyed the most was the side dishes. They jam packed the vegetables with flavor, and I especially loved the slightly sweet cooked potato side dish. If I ever come back, I'll be sure to try the bibimbap or deonjang jjigae. And although the restaurant was packed because there was an event happening on the block, service was still decent enough that I didn't need to ask for much more.

Yelp
Food was very good! Very flavorful and delicious with good portions, we spilt all these with three ppl and cleaned the plates! Staff was all friendly and the vibe was really nice. Long wait tho, so plan early!

Yelp
So, I've really taken an inkling towards Korean food. This place does not disappoint. I've gone through several dishes, but things that stand out to me are the short rib, the spicy pork, the seafood pancake, and all the sides. I love the feel of this place. It has a family feel to it and sits on a peaceful street that's prime for walking. Service-wise -- the staff are on top of everything. Love this place!
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
Not the fault of the restaurant. The driver dropped off the food and never notified us that it was here. Now it is cold, and yelp/GrubHub Support is telling me they can do nothing for me. I was not expecting a refund since I got the food, however, they also said I couldn't get any kind of a discount on any deliveries in the future even though I'm now eating cold food as a result of their error.

Yelp
What I ordered: -Meat Jun [4/5] -Flaming Fondue Chicken [3.5/5] -Beef Short Ribs (Galbi) [4/5] -Spicy Pork [4/5] _ I visited SJ Omogari on a Saturday night with a group of six and was seated fairly quickly, within 5-10 minutes. We ordered a range of dishes to share, including the Meat Jun, Flaming Fondue Chicken, Beef Short Ribs (Galbi), and Spicy Pork. The ambiance was pleasant, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The food had a comforting, home-style Korean flavor, though nothing particularly stood out. However, it's a solid spot if you're craving cozy, traditional Korean dishes. Service was quick and attentive, making the overall experience enjoyable!
google avatar

Tam N.

Yelp
I love SJ Omogari! It's a go-to spot when going out to eat with a group. My favorite is the kimchi jeongol; the portion is big enough to share with the whole table in addition to other side dishes. The bulgogi and galbi beef are both delicious. I've had the flaming fondue chicken as well and it's OK-- definitely a lot of cheese and it's mixed with what seemed like the frozen carrots/peas/corn vegetable mix. Not bad but wouldn't get again. The service is always good and I've never had to wait too long even when in a larger group. 5/5!
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing. I shared the kimchi soup with 4-5 people. The side dishes in addition to the bulgogi and fondue chicken was delicious. Would recommend and go again!

Yelp
After seeing all the Tik Tok videos of this place I finally decided to give it a try. Been living in San Jose all my life and it's a shame to say that I had never checked out Japantown. Glad I went last night on a girl's night. Came here and there was already a line. And you know what they say when there's a line it means it must be good. Register my name in the waitlist and it said it was a 15-25min wait. Waited patiently and was called in like 10 min after i registered. Which was nice to not wait so long. Was seated and given a menu. Everything looked really good. We decided to order two entrees and an alcoholic beverage. Great food and drink. Will highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I LOVE this place. The staff are all super friendly ... the place is small, although they now have outdoor seating - cant wait for summer!!! The Food | so amazing | meat jun is definitely my all time favorite... second are the tofu soups (perfect for a cold day), and my third is the bulgogi! Just a slight warning.... It is pricey...
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Overall, was not bad but for the price, not super worth? For two dishes after tax and tip, it was $80 and for these portions, I personally would go elsewhere. However, the galbi was tender and the seafood bibimbap had a great veggies, seafood, rice ratio. Unfortunately, both were a bit too oily for me. It did get the rice nice and crispy on the dolsot but it felt a tad greasy. Service is fast and bustling with people in and out so that's a plus!

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance.. all amazing. Weekdays weekend does not matter try all dishes.. I still do evertime a different dish.

Yelp
Omogari was recommended by my friend Aki... Always listen to Aki. I always do. Omogari was by far the best restaurant we ate at during our recent 3 night stay in the SC/SJ area. Located on a quiet street in San Jose's Japantown neighborhood. We had lunch on a Saturday and found metered street parking across the way. We were seated immediately by a friendly gentleman and soon greeted by a nice lady to take our drink orders. Both the man and the woman were super nice & helpful. They made a great meal even better. They brought us a variety of banchan to start off. Kimchi, pickled radish, bean sprouts, broccoli and potatoes.... They also brought our steamed rice. They were in the standard metal cups with covers on them. We went with spicy wings ($10.95) for an appetizer and this came with 6 pieces. The wings were good and had a good kick to them. We also ordered galbi ($36.95) and meat jun ($25) & these 2 orders were all time... Can i just say that I have been craving legit meat jun like I often eat in Hawai'i and this more than hit the spot. It was so good, was such a big portion and my cousin & I thought it was delicious. Super tender, thin, marinated beef coated in an egg batter. So good... I could eat that every day. Loved it... The grilled short ribs were also very good and also a generous serving. It arrived on a sizzling platter atop grilled onions. It was excellent. The marinade they use was real good and the char on the meat was perfect. Omogari was a gem of a find and recommend it without a doubt. Customer service was great and the food was excellent. Thank you to my big bro Aki for leading us there.... Street parking only. Check the signs. Feed the meters. Located on Jackson St. Nice little shops nearby to walk off all the food afterwards.

Yelp
Omogari is often packed, and I get why! Generous portions, delicious dishes, and all the banchan you could want. While not a super tiny restaurant, they only have so much seating and you can expect to wait a while more often than not. (Definitely use Yelp's waitlist!) They really do their best though with getting people in, and they fairly recently added outdoor seating with heat lamps. I finally dined in a little while ago instead of getting takeout (hence the updated review). Our party of 4 ended up ordering quite a lot. I thought we would definitely have leftovers to take home, but we polished everything off! Since then we've also continued to order takeout, and while it can be a bit pricey, the portions are still large enough to get your money's worth. The food has still been good every time, whether it's the pancakes, japchae, or even just the banchan (Friends highly recommend the galbi as well). I look forward to my next meal here!

Yelp
This restaurant is located at a corner near Japantown in downtown San Jose! It was unique since the surrounding neighborhood was Japanese so we were pretty surprised with K-pop music inside the restaurant. The workers greeted us in the front and assisted us to our seat. The food was great! The meat jun was sweet but very flavorful and the flaming chicken was a great combination! The cheese pull is always a plus when we eat!

Yelp
Service: Put my name down for a party of 2 and waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. Service is pretty quick. Banchan: Fish cakes were semi-hard. Kimchi is seasoned on the sweeter side but there is a bitter aftertaste. Other banchan included broccoli, radish/carrots, and bean sprouts. Food: We ordered the spicy rice cakes and the seafood pancake. The sauce for the tteokkbokki is sweet, not spicy, and it is more soupy consistency. Not at all what I was expecting. The rice cakes were soft/mushy, no chew to it. The noodles were underdone and slightly hard. My preference for tteokkbokki is a thicker sauce and a good balance between sweet and spicy in flavor. The seafood pancake was decent, but there is not enough seafood in it for the price. For $24, it's mostly batter and green onions. It is crispy though and the sauce is good (tastes like a soy sauce base). The portion of the seafood pancake is huge so it was more than enough for two people and is a lot of food for an appetizer. The rice cakes were a decent size for two people. Price: Definitely on the pricier end for Korean food ($57 for our order). Probably due to the location but I was expecting more and was just left a bit underwhelmed. Ambiance: I liked having the option to sit indoors or outdoors. It was a nice evening so we chose outdoor seating. Theres lights outside and its spacious so that was a plus. Indoors was on the darker side. They share two bathrooms with the karaoke spot next door. Overall: (2.5) I don't think I would go out of my way to come back. Maybe we just tried the wrong items, but it just didn't wow us.

Yelp
We went here after looking at all the reviews! It was a very typical no-frills Korean restaurant. We liked their food! I got the tofu stew and it was very nice and warming with good flavors.

Got here around 1145 am on Monday. There were only about 2 table occupied. We, 3 adults and one baby, were seated right away. We ordered: 1. tofu seafood soup-very good but small bowl. It's should have been bigger for the price they charge. 2. Chicken fondue-nothing excited just cheese over cut pieces of chicken. 3. Sole fried fish- it was ok, no crunch. I don't see why the great reviews. I'm glad I didn't wait in any line because it's not worth waiting in a long line. Finally when I revived the bill. There was an automatic 20% tip. I hope people are aware of it. Sorry there are better Korean restaurants to eat at with better values, better food, and no mandatory tipping

Yelp
Their soy garlic wings are absolutely to-die-for. Just the right amount of glaze and crunch on the outside. Six wings for $11 is pretty good value too. I also really enjoyed their seafood pancake. Thick, crispy on the outside, and a big portion. They have a wonderful take on the Kalbijim as well. This kitchen rocks. 5 bonchons provided for our dinner. Frinedly efficient service

Yelp
Always a family favorite. Everything we order is delicious every time we come. Service is great, small indoor space but large covered outdoor area. It's always a yes when we want great Korean food.

Yelp
There's so many good things to say about this Korean spot in Japantown. I'm my opinion, it's far the best Korean food you can get in San Jose. The service is usually quick and they always start off with a table full of banchan, which I usually can never get enough of. The restaurant is pretty small, so expect a wait if you're coming on a weekend (the wait is so worth it). Most dishes can also be made vegetarian, just let the server know ahead of time and they're always more than happy to accommodate!

Yelp
We visited Omogari in Japantown, San Jose, for Saturday lunch and had about a 20-minute wait, which was reasonable for the weekend crowd. We ordered the Meat Jun, which had a decent portion and was enjoyable. The Flaming Chicken Fondue had great flavor but was overpoweringly sweet, which threw off the balance. Overall, the food was good, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was nice. We'd consider returning to explore other menu items.

Yelp
I ordered the beef short rib with rice beef stone hot pot with rice. For pick up. They both were amazing and taste so good. One of the best Korean places I actually tasted. glad I found this near my home. I even gave my dog small pieces of their meats. My dog even love their meat too so that's a win double

Yelp
YOU GUYS THIS RESTAURANT IS AMAZING!! I came here on a Saturday before attending an Ateez concert. I wanted some Korean food and I'm so glad that I found this place! Upon arrival, there was a waiting list but we got seated really fast. We only had to wait less than 10 minutes for a group of 3. The host/ server who greeted us was very nice and polite. Before ordering our meal, he placed a beautiful array of banchan dishes and white rice on the table. We ordered 4 plates; fondue spicy chicken, spicy rice cakes, japchae, and rib eye bulgogi. The food portions here are very generous!! The plating was very nice and the food tasted even better! I've never been to Korea but the flavor of the food here tasted so traditional. It's exactly what I was expecting and more. I also want to note since it was an unexpectedly busy day, the staff had to turn people away because they ran out of ingredients!! I guess many other concert goers had the same plans as us haha. Omogari, thank you so much!! You have a new returning customer. I don't mind driving 1hr 30mins to eat here again!!

Yelp
Ordered online for pickup and it was ready in 20 minutes. The restaurant was completely packed at 8:15 p.m. on a Tuesday night--a good sign it must be very popular. Spicy chicken with rice (4/5): flavorful, more sweet than spicy. Kimchi fried rice with fried egg (3/5): again, more sweet than spicy. The plate of side dishes was generously portioned!
