I had high hopes for a new middle eastern restaurant in the neighborhood but was quite disappointed by the lack of authenticity.
The portion is large, I wish they were smaller and cheaper, or at least an option for less. I laid $22 for lunch that could feed two people. Give me an option in the middle.
The taste was not of a proper Shawarma… where are the fresh veggies, where are the pickles, tahini and all the freshness that comes with food from the Middle East?? The meat was decent flavor, but it was missing all the veggies and tahini that typically come with this type of food.
The restaurant is very bare and one tone. They might still be under construction but at the time of my order it was hot in there due to lack of air and just bad paint job over the previous business’s pink walls.
The guy who worked there was quite nice! I was the only customer for the 20 minutes I was there waiting for my order to be ready.
In my photo you can see how brown everything is, missing the color and freshness you typically get with good middle eastern food!
