One Bite Shawarma - Review - Castro - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Late-night Castro-goers have another place to fuel up after a night out: One Bite Shawarma, a Mediterranean spot doing wraps, plates, and salads. They’re open until 3am daily, so you can get your chicken shawarma fix at all hours. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Phenomenal food. Had me moaning with every bite. The chicken shawarma had so much explode-in-your-mouth flavour, which is much better than what I can say about Gyro Express. Do yourself a favour and walk one more stoplight for this spot.

I had high hopes for a new middle eastern restaurant in the neighborhood but was quite disappointed by the lack of authenticity. The portion is large, I wish they were smaller and cheaper, or at least an option for less. I laid $22 for lunch that could feed two people. Give me an option in the middle. The taste was not of a proper Shawarma… where are the fresh veggies, where are the pickles, tahini and all the freshness that comes with food from the Middle East?? The meat was decent flavor, but it was missing all the veggies and tahini that typically come with this type of food. The restaurant is very bare and one tone. They might still be under construction but at the time of my order it was hot in there due to lack of air and just bad paint job over the previous business’s pink walls. The guy who worked there was quite nice! I was the only customer for the 20 minutes I was there waiting for my order to be ready. In my photo you can see how brown everything is, missing the color and freshness you typically get with good middle eastern food!

I live in the Castro I am 66. Visited this establishment on October 10 for carry out at 1pm . Really wanted to love this place…. I spent $42.There was a young man there. He was very friendly. All the French Fries were little 3-4 “ greasy. WAY Overuse of seasoning (salt) that made & my friend sick. The chicken was the best still too much seasoning.. The beef was way too salty too- not the typical lamb for a shawarma. Suggested a sign in the window with the price listed- so people can take a photo of the menu. PW

Great spot. I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting when I ordered the beef shawarma bites but it’s a delicious wrap cut up into pieces with excellent flavor. Taking half home. One order is probably good for 2 people unless you’re super hungry. I’ll for sure be back

Fresh, amazing and delicious. I really recommend the 7 bites chicken or beef, and also their ice cream.

Very tasty food. I hope they have pictures of the dishes on their menu soon, along with more options for drinks. I would eat here again.

OMG ABSOLUTELY the best North African / Arabic food I’ve had in the states! The Chicken Shawarma, hummus, and Chicken plate with salad is delicious. The service is AMAZING too!!!!!

I really disliked the wrap, it was just sloppy meat and sauce with no veggies/pickles/texture. It is a gutbomb similar to French tacos or a Costco chicken bake, so if you like those you might like this better than me. You also get a cup of toum garlic sauce (quite good!) and hummus (pretty bad) but the wrap has too much sauce anyway so it's a waste unless you get something else.
