***I left the service without a rating bc I truly meant a 0/5***
I love trying new food spots, especially Korean food. I had been pretty excited to try this place for a few months, as I have missed a lot of my late night Korean food spots back in Austin. I decided to go with my family around 5:30/6pm.
When we walked in, there were 2 customers seated and eating. We weren't greeted. Just kind of sat at a table. The place looked really run down, like dirty napkins and chopsticks on the ground near my feet, but I brushed it off as I had been so excited and thought maybe it was a crazy night before.
The younger guy who finally came to our table didn't introduce himself, and he didn't even explain the menu/ ordering process, which was a bit confusing when you're missing half the menu. This place is pretty much a karaoke bar that serves a couple of Korean dishes. The menu was pretty limited, in my opinion, and the confusing part of the ordering process was the non-alcoholic drinks (the half of the menu missing contained these)
The guy walked up to the table in silence. We all ordered just a water to start since we were still confused, but the guy walked a way so quickly before I could ask. He came with the waters and left again just as quick, but not once...NOT ONCE...did he ask what we wanted to drink. All we saw was the soju/alcohol menu, so we didn't even realize they had other drinks until I noticed the small fridge by the bar that had a few canned sodas that were overpriced, and that's about it.
We ordered our food, again from the guy who stood in silence and made me feel like it was an issue we were there so early. While waiting for the food ~20mins... we tried watching their tvs, but the sound didn't even match what was on the screen 🤣 We weren't checked on a single time while we were there.
A little bit of my background , I'm a HUGE fan of Dolsot Bibimbap and so I'm aware how hot the stone bowls are, but when silent guy (since I still don't know his name) brought our food...he handed me the bowl without saying a single word of caution, and typically they are served on a plate that's a bit larger than the bowl....in this case it was the same size. So it slid and def left its mark on my finger. Again, if you aren't used to that dish and just trying it for the first time, you'd have no clue how hot those bowls can be. You should be warned when you get the dish...it wouldn't shock me if you don't get that warning, so I'll gladly give it to you now.
After my finger incident, I went to go wash my hands but literally turned right around after opening the doors. That bathroom....was something else. 😵💫🤮
I've never left such a bad review, but I was so disappointed in the experience, upset with the lack of service (esp for the food prices, there's plenty of other spots around a 10 mile radius that are better for the price alone), but I think the icing on the cake was the "service" we received (technically the extreme lack of it).
If you want somewhere for dinner, go elsewhere. If you want to just get drunk off soju until that place looks like a kdrama soju bar, sing your favorite songs to videos that don't match, and want to never be acknowledged or bothered, this seems like your place to be.🫰 Such a disappointment 😩
