Great AYCE BBQ joint.
Not that big inside, as such we opted to hangout at the bar and down some soju while we waited for our table. It's dimly lit, I think it's that way to make the place appear intimate, and it is that way if your are focused on your own group and the cookery that was about to begin.
We sat down, and our server asked us how we wanted to proceed - basic or premium! We were there to go big! She got us our side dishes, rice, waters, and kept the kimchi coming.
The premium only allows for 2 galbi strips per person so keep that in mind if you were just going for the galbi. On this trip we tried the galbi, the baby octopus, and the sam-gyeop-sal (pork belly). It was all good, but I have had thicker pork belly strips. Also, I feel like you can get a bigger selection at other places (i.e. Two Pocha, etc.). That said we didn't stop ordering... and unlike the other Pocha place, I didn't feel like we were on the clock.
Our sever was great...she kept the grill changes fluid, and kept checking in on us. We ordered a fantastic Yuk-gae-jang stew to mix things up. It was all good, but it took a minute to get out to us.
The spicy pork bulgogi was good, and the brisket was a good meat to order if you want things to cook fast.
I ate to my stomach's fill, and then some.
Would I come back? If some friends are in the area are interested in AYCE Korean bbq, this place would rank in the top 5...especially since it's the closest.
The shaky thing is because of its size, you might have to wait. If you don't mind the wait, they do have a bar and plenty of K-Pop. I've waited longer in the NCR.
Definitely consider this spot...especially if you're in the mood for norebang...which they have next door.
Pro tip: Be ready with your next order of meats so they can keep the meats coming. We went with a Yuk-gae-jang to keep us busy, but it didn't come out fast...just keep that in mind.
