During our recent visit which included two members of my family, we were initially greeted by a lovely light-skinned lady who provided attentive service while taking our orders. This first interaction set a nice tone for our meal.
However, our experience took a disappointing turn when we proceeded to the take-out section to place an additional order, spending over £100. Unfortunately, the older woman serving at the counter did not present a welcoming demeanor. She seemed irritated by our presence and made an insulting comment, suggesting that our takeaway order was delayed because we were "talking too much," despite our substantial order. This was particularly frustrating, especially after the positive service we received earlier.
While the two younger staff members were pleasant and accommodating, the behavior of the older woman stood out negatively. Her unwelcoming expression and dismissive attitude towards our order requiring me to repeat it twice before correctly processing were disheartening. It left a sour taste, overshadowing what could have been a fulfilling dining experience.
Having grown up in Harlesden in the 90s and frequently visiting this establishment as a teenager, I had high hopes for our lunch outing. I was convinced to bring my family here, but given the circumstances, I doubt we will return. I've heard about a new Caribbean takeaway restaurant around the corner, and we plan to try that next time instead.
