"Seeing as how it’s hidden behind the kitchen setup of a fake deli (complete with quart containers and large refrigeration units), we suppose you could call One19 Wine Bar a speakeasy. That’s all well and good, but you should think of this spot on Essex Street as less of a hidden venue to discover and more as just another fun place to drink mostly Italian varietals on the LES. This bar has a lineup of wine on-tap, reasonably-priced bottles that hover in the $40-50 price range, and a couple of flight options that allow you to try some of the stuff they’re excited about. The space is pretty small, but it’s cozy enough to feel like a party at times — and there’s a full food menu of the usual snacky options like marinated olives, charcuterie, and tinned fish." - Carlo Mantuano

Google
It was quite late so I appreciated them still serving the prefix meal. The wine was excellent and the food was great value. Service was excellent- attentive, courteous, and professional. Venue was beautiful and clean. I’ll def to be here for all the great specials they have.

Interesting little hidden wine bar with a chill atmosphere and Italian wines that you probably never heard of. I didn't see any Chianti or Barolo but they more than make up for it. They have a bunch of wines on tap too, which i'd never tried until now! Grilled Radiccio was incredible. Try the flight, it's a great value.

Really enjoyed the Wednesday happy hour “flight and a bite” special! Think it’s a great value for the flights and yummy bites! Looking forward to trying the daily happy hour

Google
Found my new favorite wine bar! The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable. Tell them what you like and they'll select a tasty wine that speaks to your palette. They curated an eclectic selection of wines from small producers that I doubt anyone has heard of. The flight for two is totally worth it, over a bottle's worth of wine!

Wow this place is great! Happened to walk by and out of the corner of my eye I saw a pink neon sign that said "Wine Bar".. I'm from Napa so I had to check it out. Tried their "Freshest Flight in NYC" and was blown away. What a great value, practically 4 full glasses of wine. Lot's of interesting Italian wines that i've never heard of on the menu as well. Don't leave without trying the French Bread Pizza! They just opened yesterday, so I wish them the best!

Google
New wine bar in the lower east side. Generous (+ freshest) wine flights and the staff was knowledgeable about the wines they have on the menu. I heard about and tried an "orange wine" for the first time. There's also a nice variety of food options (great bread and tuna tin.) Come alone and meet new friends, bring a date, or round up a few buddies here to drink some wine --- hey, why not?

Came here for restaurant week. Deal was good because for 29 (food) and 19 (wine tasting) you do get a lot. As a vegetarian, there were only two French bread pizza options and the margherita was sub par. Great ambiance for a date and affordable!

One 19 Wine bar is an amazing new addition to the LES! They have wine on tap- which may seem strange, but actually makes the wine some of the freshest you’ll taste in NYC. The bartender and sommelier Gianni is fantastic and super knowledgeable about the wines on tap. The food was equally amazing (especially the ricotta bruschetta, pizza, and panzanella salad), courtesy of Chef Matt. A new must go!

Yelp
Lots of open bar and high top seats on a Wednesday evening. This is a great spot on Essex St, close to the subway and lots of other bars/restaurants. We started with the Freshest Flight for 2 -- a great value $70 for 4 full glasses each. Loved every wine -- a bubbly, traminette white, albana orange ( will come back for this glass alone) and a Sangiovese. Our waiter explained the grapes and growing locale of each in a very informative way--not snobby at all. For food, we split some of the snacks, prosciutto cotto pizza and mushroom ravioli. Both were savory and delicious... portions are smaller but intended tapas style. You have to try the basil gelato. Wow, just wow. So creamy and paired perfectly with the Sangiovese at the end of our flight. Give this place a try before it gets too popular!!

Yelp
Went down to my old stomping grounds, LES, to reconnect with friends... We wanted to try out a new place. Enter One19. The place exudes chill, upscale speakeasy vibes (if that's even a thing for winebars...) Loved that we could talk without screaming over any loud music or noisy bar antics. They have a big wine selection, which my friends appreciated, as for me, I drove in, so I ordered a 'limonata' (sparkling lemonade). As novices, we were guided by their sommelier, starting with their flights offering. Foodwise, the place has appetizer/shareable offerings that satisfied my need to eat. Paired well with the wines and definitely helped me keep up with the drinkers... My Fav was the tuna dish (presented playfully in a tin). We had a great time catching up here and plan on checking it out in the future. (FYI, its cozy/refined feel would play well for datenight)

Yelp
How is this place not more packed? It's so good. Service is friendly. Thanks Gianni and the wines are delicious. Small but cozy place on Essex with yummy shareable plates and some good wines on tap and by the glass. They have some great Wines from sicily too. I recco French bread pizza with pepperoni and for desert the ricotta (it is on the sweeter side). They serve yummy Sullivan Street bread too. I think this spot works for a date night and group din.

Yelp
Came here for NYC restaurant week for 3 course prix fix for $39 plus $25 wine pairing with some friends and we had an absolutely amazing time. Great food, great wine, friendly staff. Starter The burrata was totally worth the supplement, holy moly. Loved the pea pesto with the amazing buttered toast and the burrata pop was really satisfying. We had a dry white wine pairing with this that complemented pretty well- it was very light and crisp. Entrée The spinach and artichoke pizza on french bread was so simple yet satisfying. The bread really makes the difference, so good. They served chilled Sangiovese red wine with this one that I'm not sure fit the veggie pizza but it was darn good and I've never had it chilled before, it was pretty fun. My boyfriend got the meatball and pasta entree and our friends both got mushroom pasta, everyone was very happy with the food. Dessert My boyfriend got the basil gelato and it was so unique and refreshing, not too sweet. The blueberry panacotta was fantastic too. With this, we had orange wine which was buttery and slightly sweet. This was really nice for us bc we don't like sweet dessert wine. The service was fantastic; If I lived nearby I'd be a regular. One thing to note, these portion sizes were more for regular humans, so expect to be able to eat everything when you're there without leftovers.

Yelp
Cozy dark little spot metal chairs but the warmth of the staff is what's really important. Only Italian and NY wines but they were delicious and they're more than happy to have you taste whatever you like.. I didn't have any food but this new joint seems like it will fit in perfectly to the neighborhood. I highly recommend stopping here for a visit.

Yelp
Visited One19 Wine Bar last night and happy to say I'm already thinking of my next trip there! Intimate spot for a date night or catching up with friends. My server, Gianni, was very knowledgeable of the organic wine selection and recommended an exceptional red. It's noticeable that every wine offering is intentionally curated and cohesive. I also was able to sample orange wine (who knew there were orange varieties of wine?!) and have a bite to eat. Try the panzanella salad and ricotta bruschetta (both were incredibly tasty!) Their menu also features wine flights and a tasting/pairing menu. To top it off, One19 even has wine on tap! Solid wine bar all around- can't wait to return!

Yelp
Cute warm little place that is tucked away. Good ambience, good music, and nice selection of wines.

Yelp
My roommate and I went to One19 last Thursday. When we first walked in it was relatively quiet. We were seated right away and our server was excellent. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines they offer. We tried a lot of the food as well as one of the wine flights. The food was delicious. Each glass of wine in the flight was better than the last. Would highly recommend and I look forward to going back!

Yelp
Great atmosphere a good place for a date night. Don't hesitate to come! The decor inside is nice and the drinks are great. Didn't get a chance to try to food but the options sounded good

Yelp
Excellent addition to LES. Among the best wine bars in the neighborhood with very good Italian food and knowledgeable sommelier!

Yelp
This place was such a gem to find! Cool dimly lit vibe, chill but upbeat music, excellent wine and tapas, great bartender. And they have happy hour every day 5:30-7:30! I'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
A chill relaxing new wine bar cafe in L.E.S. I've happily discovered in my neighborhood that not only serves exquisite Italian food and wine at night but is also open early in the morning ready with refreshing blends of fresh brewed coffee and tea from their cafe. Definitely a delightfully welcomed addition to the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing environment with high food, drinks and service surrounded by mesmerizing ambiance.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous. Wine was unique, food was wonderful, creative, and so delicious and the owners were both friendly and gracious. Highly recommend this gem.
