"Ono Poke is a reminder of how good a poke bowl can be when done properly. The fish here is high quality (you can do tuna or salmon) and they limit the topping options to only the essentials. You can build your own bowl, but you probably won’t do a better job than the shop’s five menu options—especially the spicy tuna bowl. The space itself is small, very casual, and good for a quick lunch - and they do have tropical flamingo wallpaper we really want to steal. photo credit: Tasty Planet" - Ryan Pfeffer

"This popular poke shop is offering its popular bowls to-go. The concise menu of poke bowls and create-your-own varieties using the same caliber of fish employed at some of Miami’s top seafood restaurants. And while the seafood is the star, don’t skimp on its eclectic and vast array of toppings, like crispy scallions, wasabi aioli, spicy red wakame, and more that take the poke bowl to the next level." - Olee Fowler

"No GPS is needed to find Eater Miami’s winner for best fast casual restaurant of 2017, Ono Poke Shop: simply follow the wave of millennials cramming into the compact storefront on North Miami Avenue during lunchtime. The eatery — based on the latest health-forward food craze of raw fish served over rice or greens then tossed with veggies and umami-packed sauces — has such a strong focus on providing fresh fish delivered daily that its closing hours includes the apt hour of “or until sold out.” Owner Nuriel Mayardi admits the making of Ono Poke can be chalked up to happenstance. “I was in LA about 3 years ago on Venice Beach and I walked past a poke shack and was like, ‘wow, what is this?’ I had no idea. And even at that time, in LA, it wasn’t that popular yet. I tried it and loved it and thought, ‘wow, this is so cool!’” He called up his good friend, Amir Anvari, a guy he grew up with in Miami. Anvari happens to be the sushi sous chef at the Japanese mainstay, Makoto, and pal Mayardi affectionately refers to as “the sushi guy.” Anvari hadn’t heard of poke and was instantly on board with the idea of bringing it to South Florida, and Mayardi found the space when he accidentally drove by and saw a lease sign. “We both agreed on keeping the place very simple — focus on fresh fish. Most poke shops are using a frozen product. For us, we said we are not going to do that, we’re going to go fresh tuna, fresh salmon, always fresh. Fresh and clean every day.” They also decided to rely heavily on Japanese influences, as opposed to introducing flavors like mango and pineapple, commonly used in poke shops as an ode to its place of origin, Hawaii. The idea is to make the focus the fish, above all, a term Anvari coined as “deconstructed sushi.” Techniques and practices Anvari has learned at Makoto, from which purveyors to purchase the best fish from, how to properly handle the fish, as well as the making of the dressings used, have helped Ono Poke stand out from the poke pack. “The sauces are not the exact recipes, but the spicy mayo is very similar and the wasabi aioli on their salad is very similar to ours.” Rice, a key component in a poke bowl, is also a trade skill learned from Makoto. Mayardi refers to it as “Makoto-inspired” but is hesitant to reveal much beyond that. “Most people will just cook rice and throw it on the pot. We do ours sushi-style, which means we cut it with “su,” a flavoring for the rice. It’s a secret recipe — it’s one of those things where you wanna tell everyone what we are doing, but...” he ends the sentence with a mischievous grin. Mayardi, whose family is in the hospitality business in Orlando, knows a lot about keeping customers happy and coming back. “That’s a big part of the business also — as good as the food is you got to make sure that everyone is happy when they come.” Mayardi delivers his friendliness in an unassuming and casual style, greeting each person that comes into the colorful restaurant and saying goodbye to them as they head out. The 30-year old is tall and lean, sports a man bun a slightly darker auburn than his beard, and a pastel pink shirt sporting the restaurant’s logo. Often times he will be working the line, preparing popular bowls like the spicy crunch tuna bowl (made with rice or greens, spicy tuna, jalapeño, red onion, pickled cucumber, and crispy tempura topped with wasabi aioli and eel sauce) or the ono king salmon bowl (rice or greens, Ora King salmon, pickled cucumber, red onion, jalapeño, micro greens, sesame seeds, topped with house shoyu and wasabi aioli.) They are also working on a vegan bowl with tofu, expected to be out in a couple of weeks. Of course, guests are encouraged to design their own poke bowls, with Mayardi gently encouraging them to try toppings after learning more about their palate preferences. Bowls are generous in size and extremely affordable, the small going for $13, the regular (which is really a large) for $16. “If you broke down [the large bowl] and ordered that at a sushi bar, you’re looking at $25, and we sell it for $16.” Mayardi admits the price point may be too low, but he doesn’t want to disappoint Wynwood regulars by increasing the cost, so prices there will stay the same. He is slated to expand and is working on opening a larger Aventura location later this year, which is where he grew up. “We might have to adjust the price a little bit there, because for us to stay alive, we kind of have to.” There’s also talk of moving to a larger Wynwood space when the lease runs out in 8 months, but Mayardi has plenty of time to figure that out and just as many offers from people wanting his restaurant nearby. The current 950-square-foot space seats about 20, although the bulk of the business is take-out. Mayardi knows things have a way of working out. They did for him with the creation of Ono Poke. “It is so weird how it happened. It’s funny how the world works — one thing leads to another in so many different aspects of life. For this busness, yeah, it happened to be one of those – hey, that’s cool, hey that place would be cool for it, hey, my good friend, you know all about sushi.”" - Alona Martinez

Customer service: I don’t want to generalize, but today, Sunday 2:00pm, the service was terrible, I don’t know if the lady in the picture was having a terrible day, but had the worst attitude. Come on, we are talking about customer service. This was my second time here, and will never push to come again. She wanted to charge us $20+ for a large poke. Lucky me that my GF knew the real price. $10ish. About the food: it was delicious.

Google
Our boss is always talking about how they have best Poke bowls, so he decided to treat us all for lunch. He drove from Doral to Wynwood to get us Poke Bowls, considering the distance we all had very high expectations which were filled. I will highly recommend this place if you are Poke Bowl fan it was fresh delicious and the small bowl is huge!! so you get your moneys worth!

Google
Good service, they let me park my bike inside since there isn’t any bike parking/locks in front. I wish they used less plastic here because it’s delicious poke but they put it in a plastic bowl instead of a washable container.

Google
5 stars for the poke (spicy tuna bowl - so good) 3 stars for the service. I ate there tonight and it was a really slow night and I ate alone. The people working were not professional or welcoming - I had to wait for the girl to stop texting so she would look at me to take my order. She was nice, but then loudly shared her thoughts on subjects I didn’t need to hear about while I ate. Took away from my experience a bit.

Google
I was very far from my regular “Poke” place but the worse choice was to stop around Wynwood for it. The white girl (cashier) totally rude and unwelcoming. Their food is covered “red flag” when asked as to why their answer was is just the owners choice of design. Trust me I am all about the food specifically being a restaurant owner and if you walk to a “poke” place their white rice should not be salty and the taste of their salmon wasn’t fresh at all. In addition, requested all their toppings but obviously they missed (cucumber + edemame). Don’t know if the owner “Noriel” reads the comments but it looks like they ignore all their customers reviews. If you want to remain in business read and act based on your customers at the end of the day they are the ones who keep you or take you out of business. Will never return to this place and definitely not recommended.

Google
Very good Poke. Will come back. Ask for it "Vanessa style." Like that they will put no rice or just a spoonful if youre avoiding rice. Could have a few more toppings but it's one of the best poke bowls ive had on the east coast.

Google
Ordered Ono Poke spicy tuna bowl with UberEats. Food was so fresh and ono. Love being able to customize toppings. I chose crispy onions, edamame, jalapenos, and tobiko! It was great, the only thing that would have made it a little better would have been more wasabi aoili, which I will specify next time. Had enough for 2 servings. The paper bag the food came in with a cute little note saying thank you for you first order and enjoy was a nice touch! Mahalo for a taste of Hawaii nei!

Google
Tasty fresh poke, clean place and friendly servers. Good variety of toppings. Would recommend.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this poke spot. It is in wynwood and has such a cute vibe. Hands down the best poke I've ever had. All the ingredients were super fresh. I came with a friend for lunch. It is the perfect lunch go to in wynwood. Loved the interior design. There is street parking. I have no one complaint about this. I honesty just wish they open more branches everywhere soooo good ! Ps this poke bowl has sooo many good nutritious benefits . Yay.

Holmes B.

Yelp
If only they had more options for protein and more toppings I'd give them 4 stars but this is just as simple as it gets. I mean ingredients were fresh and all and portions are good for the price but very limited on toppings and protein options and for $20 a bowl I'd like to have more to choose from. Staff is is somewhat friendly and they're really fast so that's good if you're in a rush like I was. There are a lots of poke joints in town that are better in every sense but this is just my humble opinion.

Darien W.

Yelp
The Spicy tuna was not good nothing about my this place including service was worth stopping here. Providing a two because the food was edible.

Maria Alejandra O.

Yelp
Great place for lunch! I've been here several times and is consistently good. All the protein and veggies selection is very fresh and varied. The spicy salmon is good to try and the staff is always very friendly. Is you want. Quick lunch this is a good option

Edward W.

Yelp
Our group came on Sunday for lunch. Either make your own poke bowl or buy a preset one. Bowls come in two different sizes and both come with 2 scoops. Cost $3 for extra scoop of fish. Certain toppings like seaweed also have additional costs. Not sure what the difference is unless you want more space for rice/salad. Otherwise, the price difference of sizes can get you an extra scoop of seafood. I had salmon and spicy tuna scoop and both tasted fresh. The seaweed topping is a must as well. I think you can try asking for more free toppings if there's still space in your bowl. Overall, solid poke place. Get 10% off with Yelp check-in.

Christoper C.

Yelp
See photo. Ordered shut Have eaten here but this is kind of gross. Hope they get it all sorted

Sasha S.

Yelp
First time I went it was good in person. Just ordered on Uber eats and there was no sauce on the bowl. I was given brown instead of white rice. They did make the bowls bigger but they just fill it up with that hard rice. Not even utensil was put in my bag and I requested it on the app.

Yelp
I was super lucky to go to Hawaii for two weeks just before COVID-19 starting hitting the contiguous U.S. So of course, I had to try as much poke as I could! My eyes were widened. At every place I tried, poke was served in practically equal and heaping portions of rice to fish - aka they hook you up with their bright red, fresh ahi tuna. With this in mind, the fish portions at Ono seemed super small. If I had to guess, it was probably around a 1/4 cup of small pieces. I also wasn't a fan of the fact that the poke wasn't marinated in the sauce I chose (ponzu), but rather soaked into the rice. The redeeming factors were their fresh vegetables (loved the pickled cucumbers), numerous free toppings (would recommend getting the togarashi seasoning), and reasonable price point (a regular bowl is $14 pre-tax). I'd say their bowls are probably more like sushi bowls than poke bowls and if you have that expectation in mind you'll be way more satisfied. But shoutout to the crew for their COVID adaptions! I ordered ahead on their website and my order was ready for an easy pick up when I got to the store.

Yelp
Best poké bowls in the 305. We got weekly and have never been disappointed. I love that you can either pick a bowl from the menu or build your own. I stick with the AB bowl (my own creation). Brown rice and arugula mix, tuna, spicy tuna, half a ladle of spicy soy, cucumbers, avocado, micro greens, ginger, jalapeños, and wasabi aioli. I absolutely love the mix of flavors. Each ingredient is always fresh and that makes everything better! Thank you Ono!! You the best!

Batool H.

Yelp
Confession: I crave Ono Poke at least once a week. It's the best poke I've ever had. This is my go-to poke spot and where I take all my friends and family that visit. They get their fish FRESH. EVERY. DAY. So the fish just melts in your mouth. The bowl has a good amount of everything and is pretty proportional. Portion size is big as well. My sister and I got a large that we could easily share as a small lunch. If I'm by myself I get a small which is super filling. It's a little pricey but pretty much on par with Miami prices and totally worth it. My go-to is the king salmon bowl with avocado and seaweed salad. If you want salmon, call and make sure they have it first because they tend to run out after about 3pm especially on busier days. However, recently I've noticed they have it throughout the day. The shop itself is pretty small, can be a little hard to notice but has a beautiful mural and cute signs inside. Just a few tables with chairs. They have a water station which is nice. The staff has always been nice. Good food, great background (for that insta pic ;) ) and nice staff, what more could you want?

Bella R.

Yelp
This is the only place that I will eat Poké, and in a way I wish I was kidding. They ruined me, hahaha! The freshness of the Tuna is out of this world, and the greens with the rice is a perfect mix. The spicy Tuna is incredible and everyone should try it. I love the staff, and everything they are about. I love them!

Yuko H.

Yelp
Hawaiian poké in Miami? Came here one day for late lunch and early dinner while in town. Quality of food was pretty good. I tried Hawaiian style bowl. Small was $13 and large was $16. Small seemed to small so I went for a large size. Portion size was perfect. They call it sushi rice but it didn't have that of strong vinegar taste to it, sushi grade rice with small amount of vinegar. They don't have brown rice but they offer greens. Really fresh Tuna was marinated perfectly, it was onolicious! Make sense to open poké shop in Miami as they are so close to ocean with access to fresh tuna. It's poké restaurant but with Miami vibe. Decor, music, and staff was definitely Miami. Staff was friendly with upbeat energy. They sell beer, sake, and several kinds of Japanese chocolate snack (pocky with different flavor). Really great concept. Poké was originally invented in Hawaii as cheap and affordable but their price wasn't that cheap for what it was. Don't forget to check in on Yelp BEFORE you order as they currently run 10% off with Yelp check in. I normally check in when I am ready to leave and missed out on this deal.

Liane W.

Yelp
Oh noooo, I didn't find this place to be so onolicious (Ono means delicious in Hawaiian). I've been craving good poké since I left Hawaii in September, and unfortunately this location was OK. Stopped by twice: 1st time, they'd sold out of everything by 6:30pm. 2nd time, they had some stock. There are pre-designed options or you can build your own bowl. What is poké? Essentially a sushi rice bowl with diced up sushi grade raw fish, toppings and sauce. In Hawaii, the standard poké bowl is usually comprised of tuna (or ahi) marinated in sauce - and it is delicious. When I stopped in at 3:30, they had run out of their spicy tuna. The only other options (fish-wise) were salmon and tuna. (No marinade.) I'll be honest - I was disappointed. At $13 for a small bowl, they fill it up primarily with rice and a small amount of fish. If the fish was bombtastic in my mouth, then it'd prob be worth it... Buuuut, it's not. :( I chose to go half/half on the base (half rice and half greens). Topped it with a scoop of salmon (which isn't a lot for the $13 price tag; and if you want another scoop, it's $3). Then I added on toppings (sesame seeds, micro greens, cucumber, tobiko, etc.). Then came the sauce: eel sauce and wasabi aioli. The sauces are yummy, but even after mixing up everything, it just didn't do poké justice. The fish was all right - it needed more flavor. I think of poké as a delicious bowl of flavored fish. It really has to be the marinade that does it. I don't want to sit there mixing fish or having to saturate the fish myself with sauce. (I'm being picky! But you can't call it poke and give me bland fish :( Otherwise I could have just ordered a chirashi bowl... Refer to Honolulu's Ono Seafood page to see what I mean about poké. The pictures there are so nom-worthy! I miss that restaurant.) I truly miss Hawaii and their pre-marinated fish that just melts in your mouth. This place was okay.

Tiani N.

Yelp
I'm from Hawai'i & this is Pokè is prettttttty fricken ono!!!! The workers are very kind and super chill! I love that they do Hot rice because that is what true pokè bowls are supposed to be... that's what I grew up with... so glad I could have a taste of home

Cristina F.

Yelp
This is definitely the best poke I have had in Miami. The space is trendy, good decoration, nice location. The fish is very fresh and the Hawaiian style flash marinated poke is fire. The bowls are cohesive, all of the ingredients make sense together and it is overall very solid well done poke. Not cheap but good as a treat

Sacha M.

Yelp
So I like Poké, I really do. There was nothing wrong with the food, actually the quality of the fish was pretty fresh. The problem for me was more with the price. It's $13 for a small bowl and the bigger bowl is about $16, this is without add on ingredients. Luckily I was able to check in on yelp and get 10% off, which still put me at about $12 something. ALSO, you only get 1 protein, and there's a limited amount of things you can put on the bowl.

Chloe H.

Yelp
Ono Poke is the perfect pit stop for a fresh and delicious lunch. Customize your poke bowl with spicy tuna, salmon, tofu and more. We needed more poke places in Miami and i'm glad they took things to Wynwood. Oh look...now i'm craving it. BRB.

Sandy T.

Yelp
I love poke and It is hard to find anything good here for poke. This place I did not love at all. I felt that their bowls were too salty and did not have good balanced flavors. I got the spicy crunchy tuna bowl and I was able to order it with a little bit of rice and salad because I didn't want all the carbs (and I feel that these places always give you too much rice). I was able to eat all the tuna but the flavors were too salty and I didn't want the rest. My friend got the ono tuna bowl which wasn't better. It was very one toned and did not offer me any variety and the texture was soft. With the spicy bowl you had other flavors and textures not just one toned.

Chris A.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I took an Uber from our home in south beach and arrived at 7:30 pm. We were so excited to try a poke bowl at your restaurant and thought that it would be open at 8pm because that's what it says on your door. But as we approached your restaurant, we noticed the staff were already cleaning up and they told us the restaurant was closed already! Super disappointing... **update** the owner just harassed me through a private message - well done sir

Tony G.

Yelp
HANDS DOWN BEST POKE in Miami!!!! You can chose from the menu or create your own. Leeana and Taylor were so kind in helping me pick the toppings I like the most to make the perfect bowl. 10/10 recommend!!! For sure will be back.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Snagged some take-out from Ono Poke Shop for a late lunch on Thursday afternoon. I ordered a Regular Spicy Crunchy Tuna Bowl with Avocado. Quality Looking for a meal that was semi-healthy, decided to check out Ono Poke Shop in Wynwood. The options are relatively limited with five different bowls that can be customized, but really only salmon, tuna, or krab as the main ingredients. I decided to select the Spicy Tuna Bowl, which came with a mix of rice and greens, tuna, jalapeno, red onion, picked cucumber, crispy tempura, wasabi aioli, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. While I enjoyed the flavor, I felt the ratios for the items were off. Even asking for a mix of rice and greens, rather than just rice, I still got way too much rice. And while the tuna was very fresh, it was scant in comparison to the other items. I enjoyed the spicy mayo and the wasabi aioli, and I appreciated the addition of crispy tempura for texture. However, about halfway through my meal I was already out of tuna, and spicy rice and greens is just not what I wanted to eat. Quantity The Regular tub itself is quite large and when it is handed to you the weight is impressive. The problem is too much of the bowl is rice. From watching the people in front of me, you may be better suited getting the small size, where the proportions seemed better or spend the extra money for more fish in the regular size. Value The price for a regular bowl was $16, and considering it was mostly rice I felt it was too expensive. I have no doubt it is high quality fish and costs more, but that needs to be appropriately mixed in the bowls. Ambiance Ono Poke Shop is located in Wynwood along North Miami Avenue. It is a fast casual spot where you walk along the counter as your bowl is put together. The space is awkwardly arranged and that led me to grab my food to go rather than eat it in the store. The line does not have a natural place to go so it flowed right to the door. They have some seating to the left when you enter, but the majority of tables stretch along the wall to the right. The line goes right in the middle and there is little room to move around. As I waited in line, I was bumping into patrons eating on the right and the whole line had to move when someone tried to leave the store. It is a small space so I believe they are doing the best they can, however, the current arrangement just does not work. In terms of style Ono Poke Shop has fully embraced Wynwood, with eclectic and bright portraits, lights, and wallpaper everywhere. Experimental and indie rock music played in the background. Crowd I came well past standard lunchtime, yet every seat in the house was taken and the line was to the door. Granted with Art Basel going on the whole area was busy, but I got the impression that this place is in high demand. It was the standard Wynwood crowd, with hipsters, artists, and tourists with massive cameras. Service The girls behind the counter were very friendly and they had the line moving quickly. When I first entered I worried I would be stuck inside for a while, but they had everyone in and out. I do think the limited menu helped too. Parking The restaurant is separated a bit from the busier areas of Wynwood, so street parking was readily available. It feels like the restaurants and shops in Wynwood seem to keep pushing the boundaries further and further. Extra Ono Poke Shop was good, but definitely missed the mark in several spots. The jammed pack store, the limited menu, and the high prices were major issues. Yet it still was a tasty, healthy, and quick meal for lunch.

Alissa W.

Yelp
I got the spicy tuna small poke and it was pretty pricey I have to say. I didn't add any toppings, but I think seaweed salad should be included. How many people want onion and jalapeños considered as a topping. I checked in with yelp and got 10% off and my bowl was $14.50. The fish was fresh I would have liked to have some actual toppings included for that price.

Hussein J.

Yelp
First time i ever tried poke was here and i loved it ever since and even after becoming a fan of poke and trying it at other spots this will always be hands down my favorite of all The fish tastes so fresh and the atmosphere and surroundings of the place is clean and inviting Staff is super friendly and explain to you thoroughly what goes good with what Although their menu is pretty vague you'll find something that meets your taste buds regardless Im a big fan salmon and tuna eater so i love it that they have bowls for each with just the right amount of ingredients added to them to make that bowl pop out even more at you They have seating inside where you can dine in with complimentary water and if you like to sit outside they have a table as well but i think during certain seasons they take it out because i was there a few days ago and it was not there

Megan G.

Yelp
Ono Poké is my go-to healthy meal in the neighborhood. Poké is certainly all the rage right now but I find this to be better than the rest. Their head chef is a Makoto alum which speaks volumes and therefore their style is more Japanese than the typical Miami poké stablishments. Their fish is also super fresh. In fact, they sometimes sell out as it gets later in the day. Protein options include tuna, spicy tuna and king salmon. They give you two decent sized scoops and you can also mix and match. You also have the option for a rice or greens base and you can mix and match that too. They offer two sizes but the small is really more than enough food. At around $15-18 a bowl (with extras), it's definitely not cheap but you get what you pay for and I'm okay with that!

Alex L.

Yelp
Love this Poke place. They always have very fresh fish. I love all the toppings and you really get a lot of food with this. I always go for the "small" since the small is actually more like a large and the large is just massive. I enjoy the spicy soy but one spoon full is enough. The wasabi aioli is my favorite sauce but i always like it on the side and not mixed in because I think the sauces can overpower the fish. I would recommend this place. Great spot for lunch and i am a regular now.

Josh G.

Yelp
I was presently surprised how good this poké place is! They were out of the spicy tuna when I got there (it was close to closing) so I don't mind but everything really tasty! Will for sure come earlier to try the spicy tuna next time :)

Kylie C.

Yelp
I love this place and I love poke bowls. I've been here twice and each time the staff has always been so nice and helpful. I usually make my own bowl but the choices they have to offer also look really good. What I like about making my own is that I can add anything I want. They seem pretty chill about how many things you can put in the bowl. Kinda like Chipotle but with fish. I believe you can do add ons with the menu choices too. My bf got the Hawaiian bowl and really enjoyed it! The fish is fresh and good quality. The last time I was there, their fishermen was there too and one of the staff members explained how they only try to get quality fish and less quantity. I appreciated it. They also recently started giving more fish in the bowls. I know it was a issue before with them but i thought I had plenty of fish and food in general. *I would recommend 2 things!* 1. Getting the smaller bowl. It's a lot of food! ... I got the big one and it was a little extra. I didn't need that much food but after, I ate it twice that day.. lol It's also really expensive. $14 for a small bowl and $16 for the large. BUT if you were gonna get quality sushi somewhere you'd be spending about the same amount. 2. Don't go there too late because they sometimes run out of fish by the end of the day. They also sell some fun Japanese snacks! like pokey and the chocolate koalas and Japanese green tea! Which now that I think about is kinda random since they are a Hawaiian spot. lol pr maybe not idk I've never been to Hawaii I also like the wallpaper. They are still pretty new and every time I come, they have new things. So, that's always good. Enjoy!

Shacha M.

Yelp
Such a good place! People is very nice and you can have your poke at the place. What made me happier is that they have Kava and I may say it have an amazing taste compare to other kava I've tried before!!!! 5 stars for them!!

Michelle D.

Yelp
These bowls are so fresh and so delicious! I have yet to try a new bowl, because I love my tuna sooo much! Bowls are very filling, yet not overly stuffed. Beautiful colors and I look forward to my Ono lunch days!

Elodie F.

Yelp
Favorite poke place in Miami! Ono means delicious in Hawaiian... and Ono really makes me feel that way every time I stop for lunch! Love the freshness of the fish and food Salmon bowl with arugula and rice and few other toppings like avocado and furakake is always a good idea! Love the decor too so pretty! Thank you Ono! Until next time Xx

Yelp
Saw Ono Poke on Miami New Times top 10 Poke restaurants in miami so we decided to try it since we were in the area. Just Wow! This hole in the wall exceeded our expectations. It's basically a Poké bowl bar. You choose your base (rice or veggies), your protein (big eye tune, spicy tuna, or salmon) then you go on to choose your sauce, then toppings (veggies, house made cucumber, the little orange fish eggs, sesame seeds, Wakame, etc), and lastly choose your final sauce. Aside from the servers being super nice and helpful (explaining where everything was from, what it contained, etc) the portions were generous and the prices were great. If you plan on stopping by, come early. Once the fresh seafood runs out, shops closed. Definitely worth the trip to wynwood.

Yelp
In a nutshell this place was average. The tuna was tasty but not as good as some others I've had in Miami. The bowl itself was a standard clear plastic take out container which was not easy to eat out of. I'm not sure why they don't use the cardboard California style throwaway recycled ones that most places use nowadays? It also makes for not as nice of a presentation. I didn't feel Hawaii while I was in here for a place named "ono." The tuna regular bowl and a Fiji water cost me $21. With a few minor modifications this place could be a winner, I would suggest the owner look into modifying the styles slightly. They had some type of a homemade dessert that was offered to the table next to me gratis which was a mochi ice cream bar, but I was surreptitiously skipped which I thought was a faux pas. Doubt I will be back.

Yelp
Great fish and toppings at a reasonable price for Miami. It certainly wasn't the most traditional or best poke I ever had, but it served its purpose. A nice, clean and friendly atmosphere. You pick between tuna chunks, salmon chunks or spicy tuna mix. I have mine served with rice and greens. And then you go onto the toppings. Plenty of free options and some costing a buck or 2 like avacado or certain seaweeds. All served in a big ole bowl for around $15. Really cool clothing and tobacco accessories store next door worth visiting as well. They have an indoor skate park!

Yelp
Just another day craving poke bowls and came across this gem. They just opened about 4 months ago so I got the pleasure of meeting the owner and his sister whom were very friendly and helpful and informative. The ended up going with the salmon poke bowl plus avocado. Gotta have me some avocado . I ordered the Regular size and had the option to add both rice and arugula. There are Plenty other options to choose from. But all and all Let's just say I ate it all and I loved it! Definitely coming back and telling my friends. Oh and they have the cutest flamingo wall paper ever !

Yelp
So excited that a Poke place finally opened up in Miami!!! Went to try it out for the first time today and the taste was incredible! The bowl size was pretty big for a regular just wish the actual portion of fish was a bit bigger in proportion to the actual rice and salad. Other than that it was incredible and I enjoyed trying the different toppings, such as the red spicy seaweed. I look forward to coming back and seeing how things get better with time. Missed 5 stars just because the actual location didn't look like it was 100% ready but I mean they just opened so maybe they are still getting settled in. On a nice day, like today would of enjoyed sitting outside, but there was only one table outside being used.

Yelp
After a long day in the hot sun, we were craving something on the lighter side. A poke bowl was an excellent option! This little place was super cute with a simple menu. They had salmon or tuna based bowls in five different styles. The bowls themselves were delicious, but I thought they were a bit stingy portion wise for the price. The ingredients were fresh though. I did the Hawaiian Style Poke Bowl with half greens and half rice. They have Oi Ocha teas! My favorite! Overall, Ono serves a solid poke bowl. The staff were friendly and attentive. If you're in the area, it is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I love a restaurant with a one-page menu. Why? Because if they don't do too much, what they do, they usually do right. Ono Poké Shop makes great sashimi bowls, Hawaiian style - and they've got soda and water on the side too. It's really all you need! The tuna poké bowl was outstanding, with fresh fish, warm rice, greens, cucumber, a bit of sauce and in my case some added masago. It's a perfect size for lunch, tasted excellent and leaves you feeling ready to tackle the rest of the day!

Yelp
Delicious casual poke spot in Wynwood. They're only open for lunch, and the place is always busy. Typical make-your-own poke bowl, and the quality of the fish is better than most. I usually opt for half greens/half brown rice, with chopped spicy tuna and salmon (the combo costs an extra $3), topped with red, white, AND green onions, masago, edamame, avocado, spicy wakame, and furikake. Douse that bad boy with spicy soy sauce and wasabi aioli and now we are talking! They offer two sizes, and even after eating the "small" (obviously I eat the whole thing), I'm always stuffed. As is typical with all of these poke joints, the add-ons cost extra, so my lunch today (small bowl as described above + green tea) cost almost thirty bucks. So delicious though!

Yelp
I have a new favorite Poke spot! I ordered the Hawaiian PokeBowl while hubby got the Spicy Tuna Crunch Bowl. The fish is fresh and so are the rest of ingredients. They have a build your own concept and they offer two different sizes. They also offer 10% off your total bill when you check in on Yelp!

Yelp
Love love LOVE this spot. It now shares a wall with Mr. Kream so its the perfect option when you want to be healthy before totally crushing the ice cream next door. The greatest thing about this place is poke bowls are quick to prepare and serve, so there is never really a wait. Pretty convenient for the typical worker bee. These bowls are amazing. Fresh fish and a variety of toppings leaves me wanting more. I make sure to visit at least twice a month and it took me over a year before getting my order juuuuust right. 1/2 rice, 1/2 greens, spicy soy sauce, fresh tuna, scallions, avocado, spicy wakame (make sure its the red one, you wont regret it), red onions, and pickled cucumbers. Top it all off with "all the sauces, all the crunchies" and you are ready to feast. You're welcome. The staff is so friendly and patient, the place has plenty of seating and its customers are constantly rotating. Speaking of rotating, check out their beers. They stay repping local breweries which I totally support. Bowls can get pretty pricey (especially when you add spicy wakame and avo) but man, I keep coming back for more. Definitely worth the visit on pay day.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite lunch spot in miami. No idea what's going on but it's disgusting. The food is inedible. It smelled dirty. There was a man asleep at a table. Not sure what changed here but I will never return.

Yelp
Great place. Never had Poké before. Staff was very nice. Not easy to find parking. Only cooked fish option was imitation crab. Was delicious. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Amazing Poke!!! The Spicy Crunchy Tuna Bowl is the best!! They also have Salmon and Ahi Tuna. You have to top off your bowl with Crispy Onions! The walls are so cute and it's a great vibe as soon as you walk in. There is an awesome selection of teas and drinks. The Hibiscus Peko Tea is so flavorful and goes great with the bowl. They also have Black Hijiki seaweed that is soooo tasteful and goes great on the bowl.

Yelp
This is one of the most authentic Poke spots in Miami. They have been mimicked by other spots in wynwood but STILL to this day I won't grab Poké anywhere else but at Ono! I ALWAYS get the fresh tuna with kani, the ingredients are always fresh and prepared EVERY morning. The key to this style of food is simplicity and they have got that down packed. They are very quick in their service. Your bowl gets made exactly how YOU want to! The place is clean the staff is extremely nice, and the vibe they have going on in that store is AMAZING! So if you are looking for the best poke in South Florida Ono is definitely the place to be.

Yelp
Delicious!! Stopped by and ordered 2 bowls to go. You also have the option of a salad, but it's Sunday and it's my semi cheat day....The salmon and tuna are very fresh. The tuna had great color. I added a bit of all the toppings since it's my first time here. I also added all 4 sauces to try them and they complimented everything so nicely. The pricing is fair for the deliciousness that you get. I can already see myself picking up from Ono on my way home from work. I would like to see the option of adding an extra scoop of fish (protein). Maybe in the future? Hint, hint ; )

Yelp
From the decor to the people to the poke bowls, everything was amazing! Fits right into the Wynwood scene and I definitely was helped with great service. I loved the variety and it was delicious.

Yelp
I've been coming to Ono every since we moved offices to Wynwood and its a great healthy lunch option in the Wood. It's located in an unassuming store front, surrounded by graffiti covered buildings, but once inside, you'll see it has a cool tropical theme in the small space. I usually go for the spicy tuna or raw tuna topping with half greens and half brown rice. I would skip the spicy soy as it can make the bowls too salty. The toppings are fresh and there are good sauce options including spicy mayo and creamy wasabi. Service has always been very friendly and efficient. At $13 for a small bowl, it is a bit on the pricey side, but when consuming raw meat, I happily will pay a little extra dough!

Yelp
UPDATE- after hearing a few people rave about this place and for the love of poke I decided to give this place another shot. Where I think this place differs from some other poke shops around is the high quality fish that tastes very fresh and not frozen, which warrants the higher price. I tried the spicy crunchy tuna bowl with half brown rice/half greens as a base + avocado and it was really good and filling. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't really understand all of these 5 star reviews. There are much better options for poké in Miami- being a big fan of it I've tried them all. The bowls are small and cost $13 before any upgrades, only include one protein, and their topping options are way more limited compared to other places such as pokebar in South Miami. I was not impressed at all and would not be back. We spent $36 on two small bowls and one bottle of water.
