Oooh Wee! IT IS!

You ever spent your money somewhere and just felt disrespected by what you received. Not unhappy but disrespected. I’m not even on no fat stuff, but who ever was in the back that made my food must’ve been having a bad day because they virtually didn’t put any chicken in my wrap, no salt on the fries and didn’t even have the decency to put a pack of ketchup in my bag. Again I’m not on no fat time but nobody would want to get treated like this and receive this. The wrap is basically 90% wrap and 5% chicken. They wouldn’t make someone they knew food like this, I’m only writing this because this was just disrespectful. And again, I’m Not saying I was expecting a burrito or anything like that, but come on… this was just in unnecessary and a complete waste of money.

I had catfish entrée with mac n cheese and asparagus as sides. These were excellent and well seasoned. The cornbread was cold, hard, dry and had no rise to it. I also ate two desserts: taffy grapes and rainbow sherbet cake. Yum. The atmosphere is more like a take out restaurant but there are seats. This was my first experience. It took about 20 minutes to prepare. Another friend took about 45 and she ordered BBQ chicken tips, collard greens, yams and mac n cheese. Another friend ordered fried green tomatoes and they both enjoyed their food. My friend's cornbread was the same as mine. It comes with the entrée.

This food was rich in yummy flavors. The food was delicious. The temperature was perfect. FYI- the food goes fast. Yes lots of people go there to get this food, so see you all there, because I will surely be back to taste other options . 😋

My shrimp and grits was salty and taste like it was missing something. The yams was really dark and just not tasty for me.

I ordered the oxtails,mac&cheese and broccoli.The cornbread and mac& cheese was burnt.The broccoli was tasteless with no seasoning.The oxtails were tough and had a piece of plastic in them..I can recook the oxtails and broccoli.I used to go to 83rd Street location and the food there was so good,nothing like I got!$39 down the drain!Won’t be eating here again.I was very disappointed in this meal!!!I had the peach cobbler and it was flavorful but the cup was full of undercooked crust!

I didn’t get the name at first but after eating here now I understand… you take a pic of your food and when someone says that looks delicious you respond with “OOOH WEE IT IS!!” How on earth does this place have such a low review? Hands down best shrimp and grits of my life. Pot roast cupcake was such a unique idea and tasted amazing. Jerk chicken fries will feed a small army. Obama sweet tea was fruity, which I wasn’t expecting, but tasted really good. My only complaint is that I don’t actually live in Chicago, I’m here for work, so they won’t deliver when I go home!

So disappointed in my order! After waiting a long time for it to be delivered, I received two of the worst soul food dinners I’ve ever had. The catfish was very soggy. The cheese in the mac was not melted. The pot roast was so soupy. The sweet potatoes were decent, but had too much vanilla. The cornbread and green beans were really good and that’s all we ate. I didn’t realize when I ordered it was from this location. I thought it was the 83rd restaurant. But these meals have definitely put a bad taste in my mouth, so I don’t think I’ll be a returning customer.

Buyers be ware even though it states no fee you are charged three extra dollars for placing a pickup order online even your food is NOT delivered. When I asked about this up charge they have a nonchalant rude attitude and refused to refund me my money and allow me to order from the store so that I wouldn’t have to pay an up charge for a pickup order. I asked for the contact information for the owner and the same rude worker refused to provide that as well. Will be putting in a claim with the city!
