The 20 Best Sushi Restaurants In Seattle

"Eating sushi at a brewery isn’t really a thing unless you bring your own takeout—or just post up at Figurehead Brewing in Fremont where Ooshiba is an in-house vendor. This Japanese kitchen serves nigiri that tastes special occasion-worthy, and it feels very fun to pair your buttery wasabi-smeared salmon belly with a mellow Mexican lager. The next time you’re feeling disillusioned by brewery food trucks that prioritize greasy sandwiches and fries, grab space on Figurehead’s secret garden patio to snack on otoro and hamachi." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

"Eating sushi at a brewery isn’t really a thing unless you bring your own takeout—or just post up at Figurehead Brewing in Fremont, where Ooshiba is an in-house vendor. This Japanese kitchen serves nigiri that could go toe-to-toe with the likes at some omakase spots, and it feels very fun to pair your buttery wasabi-smeared salmon belly with mellow Mexican lager. The kushiyaki are worth ordering in multiples, like chicken tsukune so moist and soft that you could eat it like an ice cream cone, or sizzled pork belly strips with a perfect ratio of melty fat to lean meat. Google
This place is such a hidden gem!! There aren’t too many yakitori places in the area so I was so excited when they opened up a storefront. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the skewers were SO GOOD. My friends got the grilled fish collars and also had nothing but good things to say. It is a bit unconventional, you have to walk through to the back of the other restaurant, order on the machines and then pick up your food but it doesn’t take away from the food whatsoever. It’s a small two man operation so it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a fancy sit down place, but don’t be fooled, this place is a can’t miss!

Awesome eatery in a brewery. Awesome vibes, just wish it was a little less expensive

Google
The sashimi and sushi were wonderful and high quality. The king salmon melted in our mouths. Staff were very respectful and took the time to make sure we had everything we needed before leaving with the food. My wallet wishes they weren't a block away 😅 but I'm very happy they are so close.

Google
The yakitori and nigiri here are perfect. I could eat here every day. One of my favorite places to eat in Seattle. If you are at figurehead try the Yakitori or Sushi!!!!

Google
Sushi is ok- the fish was nice but the rice was on the cold side and very firm. The very mustardy "wasabi" doesn't do it in favors either. Ordering experience is frustrating, the kiosk is long and complicated and shows a lot of items that aren't in stock. It's also kind of extra to suggest a15-25% tip when you have to be your own cashier, pick up your own food, seat yourself, and bus your own table.

Google
We were beyond excited about this place opening but it is so confusing figuring out the ordering system. There are multiple screens and no one to guide you through the process. The worst sin though is that the calamari were undercooked and genuinely raw, under-seasoned and the worst calamari I have had in years. Maybe we will come back when they work out the opening kinks but it’s not likely.

Google
Ooshiba Yakitori and Sushi will be deeply missed! as of June 2nd, there are ramen restaurants within Figurehead, one of which serves some sushi.

Google
Heard about this place through an influencer and they did not disappoint! Went here with my friends and we ordered a sushi set, a couple of rolls, and their chicken skewers. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. I love that it's inside a brewery so you can take your food and go to the patio and also grab a beer. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This food stand is located inside Figurehead brewing and is the partner to Midnite Ramen, which is also located within the brewery. They serve grilled items, fresh-made-in-house gyoza (sold by a ticket system from the ramen cart, not from the touch screens - more on that later), some tempura, sushi, and a few other small plates. My favorites are the gyoza and the ora king salmon nigiri. The prices are very reasonable: not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive. I would say it is a good value: you get good quality for a fair price. The ordering process is a little confusing at first, but it is quite efficient once you figure it out. The ordering is separate from the ramen cart (except for the gyoza as mentioned before). Instead, you order from one of the two touch screens on the side, then get a buzzer from someone behind the counter, and then you can pick up your food directly from the counter. Overall, rhis is a unique style of restaurant for the Seattle area, and I've really enjoyed getting to explore their offerings over the last yearish since they opened.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Fish was fresh tasting and yakitori has a very nice miso tare that made the chicken savory and leaving you wanting more. The owners were also very nice and had some good recommendations.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Ooshiba! Stopped by for Midnite Ramen next to Ooshiba but opted for some negima and Tsukune skewers as well as tuna roll as Midnite Ramen weren't selling gyozas. Was not expecting authentic yakitori and quality negitoro tuna roll!! Highly recommend and will be back. What a gem of a place!

Yelp
Stopped in after a pedicure for a bite before I headed home. Have been wanting to try Midnite l

Yelp
Some friends and I (1 Japanese, 3 w/ Japanese wives) visited recently and shared 2 deep fried chicken skewers and 2 fried pork skewers. The onion from the pork skewers was not tasty at all. Not a sweet onion, not something I'd eat without lots of other stew flavors, in a stew. To "top it all off" were these sauces, clearly geared towards American palates. Some sort of regrettable katsu sauce and a displeasing mustard sauce, both of which should have been served on the side and not ruining the skewers. 3/10 for the chicken, 1/10 for the pork/onion. The gyoza by itself was redeeming! It reminded me of Utsunomiya, Japan. But, the sauces were totally flavorless, a watered down shoyu/sesame oil with no vinegar, and an orange colored oil meant to mimic La Yu chili oil, but also zero flavor. Come for the gyoza, but bring your own condiments!

Yelp
Stopped by Figurehead Brewing with one of my colleagues for a beer and noticed the quaint Ooshiba counter tucked away in the back of the building. I ordered one of their sushi sets and a few of the yakitori items. Overall I was extremely impressed with the quality of the fish, especially for the price. The yakitori marinade was delightful and all of the meat was extremely tender as well! I can't believe no one has thought to put a sushi counter in a brewery before but it is really the perfect concept and I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. If you are in the mood for good beer and high quality sushi make sure to give Ooshiba a try!

Yelp
We had a tuna roll and chicken yakitori. Flavors were good, but unfortunately my chicken skewer was raw still. Roll was good though.

Carmen O.

Yelp
Amazing flavor, great quality fish and reasonable prices relative to other sushi spots The yakitori is always tender and flavorful and you can it get it without sauce to make it gluten free. The nigiri is delicious. I could eat here every day.

Yelp
Walked in grabbed a beer, stood in line at a kiosk for 5 minutes (nobody knew what to do, workers behind counter weren't helpful) and a kid ran into my hand and spilled the beer I had in it because apparently this is a spot families bring kids after work. Oh well, gave it a shot. Maybe try it another time.

Yelp
Food was meh. Skewers were aight, sauces made the food taste all similar. Pork belly skewer was pretty good. Overall, it was meh.
