"Opened in 1969, O'pazo was one of the first restaurants in Madrid to be awarded a Michelin star—the old-school seafood spot is actually still run by children of the original founder, Evaristo García. The interior, fresh off a remodel, captures everything that's wonderful about Madrid; the sleek, updated furnishings and soothing wood paneling are a perfect juxtaposition to the open kitchen, where ham hocks hang from the ceiling and the days' catch of seafood and shellfish is displayed on ice. This is the kind of place where it's a good idea to put your order in the hands of the waiter, who can best identify which fresh fish the chef is most excited about that day. "

Best restaurant we have been in Madrid. Must go. Seafood are really fresh and cook in special Spanish way. We had monk fish. The texture is bouncy. Services is exceptional and its a good price and not overly expensive. I would love to go again.

Absolutely great experience at O’Pazo. The staff are impeccably attentive and professional. The food is exceptionally fresh. The standout for me was the sole—it was divine. Perfectly cooked, not too hard or soft. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy outstanding seafood in Madrid.

One of the best seafood and fish experiences in Spain. Simple dishes yet so so tasteful. Lovely and warm staff from the moment of welcoming. Definetly to come back again.

This seafood restaurant offered the most variety of choices of any other that we enjoyed in Madrid. It is very expensive and most of the items were worth the expense. Others, like the gambas rojo and crayfish were not worth what was charged for them. The wine choices were excellent. The service was perfect We would return but would be more considerate of what we order solely because of the high expense for certain offerings. The Rodoballo - turbot was outstanding and very reasonably priced.

One of the best seafood restaurants I had ever. Great Red Prawn, which is not common to be listed in menu another country but must try.

Google
An incredible place for seafood! We ordered the clams and variety of shrimp, prawn and langoustine and each one was phenomenal. Every bite was plump, tasted super fresh, seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The wine menu had good variety and was reasonably priced; we enjoyed two different bottles of Albariño. Would definitely go back!

Google
Really amazing food. We looked for a seafood restaurant in Madrid. We loved sole fish. It was super good. The ceviche was also amazing. Tuna tartare was good as well. I highly recommend everything here. Complementary almond cookie after the meal was also yummy However, price was on the higher side

Yelp
Laughable "fine dining" Food: lazy AF prep - A chunk of styrofoam was blended into the seafood mix - $60 for 4 pieces of shrimp that still had dirt in them, and you taste that grime in your mouth, maybe the dirt is what they meant by naturally seasoned? - Octopus dish was a mushy mess and overly salted on some parts Service: - None (including water) until we called over the host - No introduction to any dish brought to the table, servers just silently plop them down and leave as if casually feeding pidgeons - Specifically requested recommendation for a fish entree with no bones (confirmed "no bones" twice), fish came with all the bones tryna assassinate my mouth I visited quite a variety and range of restaurants in Spain, and this was by far the worst dining experience

Yelp
After being seated, we were immediately presented with a plate smoked salmon, very small escargots and bread (if you are unfamiliar with Spanish restaurants, you would think, "Wow"). Yes, they are appetizers....and they are not free. Everything offered has a price, whether you asked for it or not. Service and attention were excellent and automatically added 10% tip on our bill (table of 6). Some dishes were a tad salty but the seafood was fresh and melt in your mouth (octopus). Spider crab was meaty. Prawns were grilled to perfection (not burnt). Crayfish were steamed perfectly. Water/bread/cola were expensive. Just an ok experience to have when in Madrid.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Madrid. The service is amazing and friendly. Food is the best seafood ever. Order Ostras (spanish oysters) they are so good and different from the Ostras in other parts of the world. Gambas rojas, chipirones en su tinta, clams sautéed, rice with clams. Super good. Reservation needed.

Yelp
This is a real gem of a restaurant located not too far from Santiago Bernabeu metro station/the stadion. It's stylish as well as welcoming and lots of well dressed-high-heel ladies but it still isn't intimidating. The food is great! And the price for this quality is reasonable. We got wild salmon as appetizer which was really tasty (and we live lin Norway so we should know). The portions are big so if you aren't starving go for the half portions of the entrees. Wild halibut is highly recommended with green salad and chips. I would have given O'Pazo 5* if it hadn't been for the constant spilling of wine and water by the waiter when filling our glasses. What was that about really?? So if you don't get him to serve you then you are in for a really great night at a great place.

Yelp
I came here after seeing stellar reviews on both yelp and trip advisor. As an American traveler, these are my top two sources after exhausting recommendations from friends. Unfortunately, the glowing reviews of this place could not be further from the truth. I generally do not care about bad service as long as the food is good, but this place falls flat on both fronts. Besides making multiple basic mistakes which I can fully forgive owing to cultural differences and language barriers, the service here was completely unacceptable. The first dish that we were served came with a large piece of styrofoam mixed into it. When I brought this to the attention of the nearest restaurant staff, they immediately brought it back to the kitchen and replaced it. However, that was the extent of their effort to make up for this egregious error which could have easily gotten someone very sick if they weren't carefully looking at what they were eating. This might be acceptable behavior if this were a below average restaurant in the middle of a tourist center where nobody actually cared because business is guaranteed. However, because of the fact that this place is so highly rated, expensive, and tries to be a fine dining establishment, what happened with the service is absolutely unacceptable and unforgivable even considering language and cultural barriers (for the record I have enjoyed every other restaurant in Spain I've been to so far and had no problems with either of these issues). Besides the service, the food was awful as well. We asked for and ordered the recommendations but all the seafood was very mushy and over cooked. The mussels in the seafood mix were smelly, the octopus was over cooked and mushy, the shrimp had the texture of paste, and the sea bream came with bones which we explicitly asked multiple times about before ordering. Everything was also too salty overall. The only redeeming quality was the waiter bringing the bread. He was completely on point and the bread was fine. The wine was pretty good as well and was completely necessary to wash down the food. Overall this place is very overpriced and the service is worse than the other restaurants in Madrid that are not nearly as expensive. If you are a visitor here I would actively suggest avoiding this place since there are so many other better options for dining.

Yelp
This place was recommended by my Spanish friend. As as a conosieur of Galician seafood I trusted his recommendation and I was glad that I did. Authentic, fresh seafood flown from Galicia daily. I tried the barnacles, just delicious. Also the prawns, clams and oysters were excellent. Food is ordered by weight, The restaurant it's elegant and full of local people. If you love seafood on a classic setting, this is the place to try.

Yelp
This could be a restaurant in a Jacques Tati movie..timeless, calm, elegant. Staff professional and unironic. Food pristine, delicious. Sometimes a waiter's head is reflected amongst the hams in the glass ceiling above, pleasantly surreal as you sip verdejo.

Yelp
The Concierge at Villa Magna Hotel recommended O'Pazo for the best seafood in Madrid , and it was The Best Seafood restaurant I have been . All their dishes are very simply made with NO complicated sauces , just olive oil and pimenton and some lemon juice , the seafood is the star of the dishes they serve , seafood that just melts in your mouth. Also in a restaurant like this We didn't expect that they would be able to make some Vegan dishes for my wife , but they did and again very simple and not complicated at all which was just perfect for her. Also the staff very professional and friendly .. Worth experiencing this restaurant Definitely going back in our next visit to
