I’ve been going to Open Bar for years, it’s been on of my local spots for drinks and food in PB for almost a decade with no issues.
On the evening of Thursday August 7th 2025 around 11pm, I walked into Open Bar with a black backpack and handed it over to security. I then requested it back before leaving to go to Firehouse around midnight. I then left the black backpack at Firehouse because, alcohol.
The next morning, a man wakes me up inside my home by knocking on my bedroom door. His name is Tim Lowrey, who works at Open Bar, and he was accusing me of stealing his backpack.
Turned out Open Bar security had given me the wrong backpack when I was leaving, and it was Tim’s backpack that was forgotten at Firehouse. Tim went to Firehouse, got his backpack and its contents back from there.
Throughout the night where Tim thought I had stolen his backpack, he falsely accused me of theft and posted photos of me on social media. As a result, I got kicked out of a different bar on the following Saturday (Flamingo Deck), by a bartender who recognized me from Tim’s posts.
I asked Tim to reach out on social media to retract his allegations of theft, and to the staff at Flamingo Deck. He has completely ignored my request. Not only has he cut off communication with me about this, but I have evidence that Open Bar staff is still confused about the validity of the allegations of theft, despite having video footage of their mix up, and Tim retrieving his similar-looking backpack from a different bar with all its contents untouched. Finally, there’s a missing hoka running shoe from MY backpack I retrieved from Open Bar.
Again, I have already reached out to Tim to try to resolve this without resorting to legal action, but he has declined to answer. As a result, I am taking legal action against him on grounds of harassment, trespassing, defamation, and theft, and will be including any liability involved to his employer. Open Bar can still remedy this situation by setting the record straight, so give me a call if you would like to avoid going down that route.
