Open Face Food Shop is a cozy, outdoor haven in West Adams serving vibrant Danish-style open-faced sandwiches and fresh, seasonal bites.
"Westside Today first reported on a plea from West Adams restaurant Open Face Food Shop, which announced on social media that the new parking requirement would mean the forfeiture of its al fresco permit." - Matthew Kang
"Open Face Food Shop is a Danish restaurant that’s serious about serving fresh produce. Not only do they grow a bunch of their own vegetables, they also give away free stem cuttings from their herb garden. Run by a husband-and-wife duo, this neighborhood cafe has a short menu—mostly made up of sandwiches, salads, and smoked fish—that leans healthy without compromising on flavor. We're also big fans of their strong coffee, homemade pastries, and shaded patio garden that's usually packed during weekend brunch. After you eat, drop by the owner's home goods shop across the street—they sell everything from fancy jam to high-quality spices. " - Nikko Duren

"Open Face Food Shop is another new restaurant on West Adams Boulevard that opened in 2018, marking the neighborhood as a prime spot for new dining experiences." - Mona Holmes
"This counter-order spot in West Adams makes very solid Danish-style (open-faced) sandwiches. The only place to sit here is a bar facing the street, but the food’s ideal for takeout. The mostly traditional sandwiches come in combos, like curried egg salad with pickled herring, and pork loin with cabbage. Both are served cold on rye bread with a bunch of pickled things. Or, there’s also a terrific non-traditional meatball sub with lingonberries, braised greens, and mustard. This is a great spot for a substantial lunch that won’t have you falling asleep while you edit Excel sheets at 3pm." - Brett Keating
