"Try not to gasp when walking into the Or Bar for the first time. The West Hollywood bar opened in late 2022 with a showstopping custom chandelier that hovers over the bar. With 3,700 pieces of crystal, it’s meant to make a statement. The same goes for the cocktails and lounge feel of the room. Located inside the former Gold Coast Bar and across the street from Connie & Ted’s, the Or Bar (which translates to “gold” in French) is a welcome addition after Southern California lost many historic queer bars throughout the pandemic, including the 40-year-old Gold Coast in 2020, as well as Flaming Saddles, Oil Can Harry’s, and Rage. "Across the street from Connie & Ted’s is the glitzy Or Bar, which resides inside the former Gold Coast. “Or” translates to gold in French, and the room positively radiates thanks to a custom 3,700-piece crystal chandelier in the middle of the room with black and gold colors throughout. The interior feels very much like a lounge, and if one feels the need, dress the part with bell-bottoms and a Farrah Fawcett hairstyle.
