Oded Oren Adds to Oren Dalston Restaurant With Broadway Market Deli | Eater London

"Opening in January 2023 on Ada Street just off Broadway Market in Hackney, this eponymous deli from chef Oded Oren brings his take on Tel Aviv cuisine to one of London’s busiest food streets. The concept revives the prepared-foods and meal-kit approach his restaurant adopted during COVID closures: a retail selection centred on breads (pita and challah) and a range of ferments and pickles that add heat, acidity and spice to meals, plus ready-to-takeaway dinners previously only served at dinner—highlights include a Jerusalem mixed-grill pita, an amba chicken leg and a rotating fish with chraime (a thick stew of tomato, hot and sweet peppers, and spices). Backed by the success of his debut cookbook and the reputation of his Dalston restaurant, the deli follows a hybrid retail/takeaway model and draws on the chef’s Tel Aviv experience and London residencies since he opened his first place in 2019." - James Hansen
