The food and service were great! We came to have brunch for Mother’s Day and we were all happy with our food and drinks! Definitely will visit again! I posted some of our orders. Chilaquiles and very berry pancakes.

We often stop here for breakfast. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the food is consistently excellent. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy a peaceful and satisfying morning meal.

Stopped in on a Friday morning for breakfast, and they served! The staff were two attentive and sweet ladies who provided quick service. I ordered chilaquiles with steak and the fizz berry drink. Both 10/10. The avocado sauce, actually I'm not even sure what it was lol but it was hitting! Not a drop left.

Truly the gem of silver city!! Never had a dish here that wasn’t phenomenal. Daily drink specials too!!

I found out about Orenda just cruising through Google. I read the reviews and “WAS SOLD”. Please know - the reviews did not disappoint! This is such an awesome place. First, the place is so cute and incredibly clean. The staff was so friendly and kind. The way the staff interacted with the customers says a lot about the kindness of the management. LOVE IT! The food came out fast and hot. I had the salmon, spinach, mushrooms, potatoes, eggs and toast. Yes! That was all in one meal and it was AMAZING. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Did I forget to mention that my meal came with a side salad? Yes - it did!! My friend had the green eggs and ham with pancakes and waffle fries. It looked delicious. This is definitely a gem in the community. I’m so glad that I found this hidden treasure!

We went for the first time. We were greeted right away. Excellent service from start to end. I tried the special Bloody Mary called Farmers Market Bloody. It was Dill infused vodka, house bloody mix, with house pickled asparagus and bacon as the garnish. We were informed the dill and asparagus were locally sourced. Let me tell you, I'm super picky when it comes to a good Bloody Mary. I'm pretty sure I found my new favorite Bloody Mary. You can taste the freshness in all the ingredients. I'm already looking forward to going back for another one. Fingers crossed the Farmers Market Bloody Mary gets added to the regular menu. The food was incredible. I had a pulled chicken pablano bowl with hollandaise and two over easy eggs on top. It was so tasty and very filling. It comes with either a side of toast or side pancakes. My boyfriend had the strawberry Nutella pancakes. Probably the best pancakes I ever tasted. The right amount of toppings. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I'm so glad we tried it today! We'll be back, because there's so many other things we want to try.

Incredible gem on the south side! I grew up less than two blocks away and spent half my life in this neighborhood. My sister and I love to bring our former Southside friends to this restaurant to show it off. It blows them all away. The restaurant is very clean and modern. I have never had a bad meal there, everything is always excellent, reasonably priced and the service is amazing. The mimosas and bloodies are also incredible. The wait staff is amazing every time even with larger parties. This is truly one of the great brunch spots in Milwaukee, very underrated don't miss out I don't think you will be disappointed. I hope they stay open forever. Pictured below is the carnitas hash bowl

Yelp
What a great meal. The restaurant looks like it was recently remodeled and is very cute and clean inside. The service was fabulous they made us a fresh pot of coffee and kept our glasses filled. We had an amazing breakfast and enjoyed the views from the front booth. I had the Carnitas Hash Bowl and I was rewarded with incredibly tender and flavorful pork nestled in spinach and cauliflower with a radish garnish. The eggs were just perfect and brought the whole thing together. The meal was so hot I had to hold off a bit to eat it. Highly recommend you try this place out.

Yelp
I ate at Orenda Cafe today and it was wonderful! I built an omelet that came with toast and hashbrowns and my friend got a bowl. Their menu has traditional items and a ton of unique or good flavor-combo items; lots of healthier options, too, that aren't boring or plain It all looked so good and I can't wait to get back to try other things! The space was bright and spacious and the bathrooms were super clean, too (I always look at those...!). So easy to access off 94 and street parking right in front. You should totally try it if you're looking for something fresh or new!

Yelp
Fun place to get breakfast. The food was superb (lots of menu choices) and the service was excellent. I love places like this! Next time I'm in Milwaukee, I'll be eating here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was really good and there was crowd. Not complaining but it was pretty loud. I'll definitely go back again.

Lori Ann R.

Yelp
The breakfast grains bowl has an onion sauce that adds just the right amount of sweet to the savory! And the corned beef hash is a large serving of chunky meat and potatoes that truly satisfies. The pancakes have flavor and aren't just fluffy cardboard. The drinks don't skimp on flavor or style and the prices are reasonable - with service and style this place is a hit!

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Food was CRAZY GOOD. It truly was exceptional--you drive up and it has a small store front on a busy street--would never guess what we were in for. First, service was very good, ambiance is clean and neat--the way they cleaned the tables sooo thoroughly struck me --the menu has so many things that looked good but we settled on our choices and ordered--the food was a slam dunk. The salmon Benedict was off the chain. We all tried it and everyone raved. The omelette was top 5 I've ever had for sure. The chilaquiles were definitely the best I've ever had. In Milwaukee of all places!! This chef has skills--The food here is next level. A hidden gem for sure!!!

Yelp
Wonderful service amazing food and delightful experience while visiting Milwaukee from Nebraska- they took great care to return a bag I accidentally left at our table! Make time to treat yourself to this excellent cafe! We will be back!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! I have to say this is my go to for breakfast. The food is amazing! I had a protein bowl the first time and also tried the corn beef and hash...O.M.G. so savory and the flavors are amazing! Kudos to the chef and the amazing menu! The ambiance is also A+

Yelp
This is a hidden brunch gem. The breakfast dishes are unique and delicious. was also easy to find something as a non egg eater.

Yelp
The food and the drinks were fabulous! Our service unfortunately, was not. We waited about ten minutes after being seated before the waitress came and took our drink and food order. We didn't see the waitress again until the food came. No refills on water and our drinks didn't come. The food came in about 15-20 minutes, but our drinks came after our food. We had one drink missing that we waited for about 15 minutes before flagging down our waitress and she finally brought it. We didn't see her again until she brought the bill. The bill then had a 20% gratuity already included. We were a group of 6, so I get why gratuity might have been included, but 20%? That's ridiculous for the type of service we got. Again, food and drinks were fabulous, but just hope you have a better experience with service.

Yelp
I've been to Orenda a handful of times. One of the things I like about this place is how early they open. The service wasn't great during our last visit but I'm hoping it was a fluke. We had to ask a few times for the water we ordered, the table behind us requested a damp cloth to clean up a sticky spot on the table and it took several minutes for their server to return. There were only three tables there. The food was perfect. I've always enjoyed the food here. The green eggs and ham omelette was delicious. The hash browns were perfectly crisp. We'll return because I do think the server was just having an off day but we'll see.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was just okay, the orendabowl was super good but I got hash browns and they were way too fried. Coffee was also very watery, and not super cute in there. Servers were very kind.

Yelp
The food here is amazing, but the lack of service is what will deter me from coming back here again. I came here around 9:30 and the only seating available was at the bar. The place is pretty small, but the decorations are nice. At the bar the bartender, I think her name was Reyna or something like that, gave me and my partner breakfast menus. We were seated at the end of the bar, so perhaps the bartender forgot about us. It had been over 15 minutes and she didn't come to take our order. We tried to flag her down, but she didn't notice us. I was able to get the attention of another server and she went to the bartender who was on the other end and told her we needed to order. The bartender still kept cleaning the bar and prepping items. We waited another five minutes and waved down a different server, who told the bartender the same thing because she noticed we have been sitting there for a long time with our menus. We should have walked out and left. Finally the bartender came up annoyed and asked for our order without acknowledging the long wait. Very unprofessional. The food took a long time to come out. The chilaquiles and French toast tasted very good, but not worth the wait. While we were eating the bartender did not even check on us once. We needed more napkins, but once again she ignored us. Overall I would not recommend this place due to their lack of good service. Stick to the food truck instead.

Yelp
Food was delicious and staff were very friendly! Drinks were great. Atmosphere clean and fun, modern-simple. Love it! Exactly what we needed. We'll be back!

Yelp
Wide array of breakfast options. Friendly, knowledgeable foodstaff. Inviting local patrons.

Yelp
Nice place in a good vibe neighborhood. Excellent food and service. Wish it was down the road from my place!

Yelp
Enjoyed this clean..little restaurant for breakfast.. We sat at the bar and it was fairly busy. One waitress was rocking it ...she had the bar and tables and was bustling between them all with orders and refills! Our breakfast was terrific I had the avocado toast and my friend had steak and eggs. Both were really good after a long night of rock concerts. The bar is fully stocked and they have an award winning Bloody Mary drink Check them out and support them!

Susan J.

Yelp
I have been dining here and supporting ORENDA since soon after it opened. Not only are the unique menu options consistantly delicious and the service impecable, but this is a woman owned (actually, Latina owned) business. I like to support local business owners when ever I can. Check out media stories about the inspired owner. A few of my faves are the Chicken Poblano Skillet, Jackfire French toast and all the Benedicts, especially the salmon one with beet hollandaise sauce. I am always surprized that folks still don't know of this place, or worse still, that some think the neighborhood is "iffy". Get over it, and try ORENDA. You'll be very pleased!

Yelp
What a treat to come back to my Grandmother's old neighborhood in Milwaukee and find this place! This area has been dubbed "Silver City". This is a gem of a restaurant. Delicious Bloody Marys, and the Pork Belly breakfast bowl was a stand out for me. Friendly staff, super clean and bright interior. After breakfast, we hung out for awhile and had a specialty cocktail that they were making in a giant jar. Delicious. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Food is delicious, friendly service, clean and comfortable. Family friendly with courteous staff and very accommodating. Street parking in front of restaurant.

Yelp
This is the hidden gem of brunch places that hasn't been discovered yet, but deserves to be. Their food, their cocktails, everything is excellent. And you can usually get a table for weekend brunch, even without a reservation. My favorite item on the menu is the Chilaquilles, followed closely by the eggs Benedict. The spicy chicken sandwich is also amazing as is the avocado toast. I've been told the sweet breakfast selections are fantastic too, but I haven't tried them. The only menu item that fell flat for me was the corned beef hash bowl. It was a little bland for my taste and was served with a gravy-ish cream sauce that didn't serve the flavor of the corned beef well. Some crunch on the potatoes would help too (mine were almost liquid soft and overcooked). The service is great. The atmosphere is simple and clean. It can be a little loud when conversation gets lively, but that adds to the energy of the meal. I love it, I'll keep coming back.

Yelp
Food was great, including pancakes and bowls they make with eggs and veggies Service was perfect. Place was spotless

Yelp
Love their chilaquiles and carne. Just the perfect amount of heat and juicy steak. The inside is very cute and modern. Service is always friendly. I also love their Mexican food truck in the Menards' parking lot on Miller parkway

Yelp
I came to Orenda cafe today for a light lunch. I ordered the chimichangas, chilaquiles, and a mimosa. Funny enough, I meet about 4 Yelp Elite colleagues today. We all had the same idea. Great minds, they say.... The cafe has a cute vibe to it. The color scheme is gold and turquoise. The cafe is very quiet and a great place for conversation over a good meal. I started with the chicken chimichangas. The chimichanga was very well fried. It had a good crunch to it. The chicken was very juicy. I will warn you that you should eat the chimichangas OVER your plate because you will get the juice on your jeans if you don't. Next, the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were good! Just enough crunch! Very good. I will definitely be coming again.

Yelp
Great experience! My friends and I had brunch there for our first time at this establishment, and the food was exceptional! It was different from a typical brunch menu, as they applied a unique touch (I believe Latin) to the menu. The food was hearty but not greasy, and we left feeling very full. It was a nice gesture from our server to offer to-go coffee and tea! We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Why we decided on an impromptu brunch on Mother's Day before our day activities, I'm not sure but it was a great decision. Orenda was able to seat us immediately - it looked like we got the only open non-bar seats. Though busy with families and many kids, it was never loud which we liked. My husband started with a pineapple mimosa ($5 on Sundays) which he liked for its sweet and sour flavor. I got a Berry Fizz, which was slightly too sweet for my taste. For our meals, my husband got an order of Two Eggs Your Way with a side of bacon - it came with an option of toast or pancakes and he chose pancakes. He very thoroughly enjoyed it and left satisfied, but not stuffed. I thought the hash browns could be better seasoned, but the pancakes were delicious - warm and fluffy! I got an order of chilaquiles with salsa verde and over medium eggs. I'm open to being proven wrong but I really do think these are some of the best chilaquiles in the city. The only thing I've noticed here though is that while I've always ordered over medium eggs, I have only gotten true over medium eggs a few times. Usually they're over cooked and the yolk instead of being jammy, is cooked all the way. You can kind of see that with one of the eggs in the picture. This place is almost perfection and the value, price can't be beat!

Yelp
Had an awesome brunch experience. Food was very fresh and tasty! The goat cheese veg fritters and pancake were good also.

Yelp
After an early morning trip to MKE, I needed to find something yummy to eat. Yelp suggested this charming cafe on National Ave in the heart of the revitalized Silver City neighborhood. A bright store front greets you as does a city cafe decor. I sat at the bar and started with the Winter Sangria, a red sangria with a light touch of warming cinnamon and cloves. I ordered the pork belly Benedict and was not disappointed. Solid Benedict with roast pork belly instead of ham but the star was the subtle chimchurri spread on the English muffin. Cut through the richness of the hollandaise sauce. It went from good to better with the "crispy side of done" hash browns served with the dish. Solid but with a little interesting, woman owned and in a funky neighborhood.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
On a snowy day in Milwaukee we found our way back to Orenda for lunch. Never disappointed.
google avatar

Michele P.

Yelp
Why there isn't a crazy long line out the door on weekends, I don't know. This place is amazing! $5 Bloody Mary's, full sized with a chaser, choice of 4-5 different kinds. I had the pork belly eggs Benedict, my wife had a carnitas, jalapeño and avocado omelet. My dish included hashbrowns, hers included fruit and pancakes. Everything was so good. Might be worth driving back here from Madison next weekend.
google avatar

Donna M.

Yelp
Fantastic and unique breakfast choices. The setting is clean and inviting. Our server was excellent and the food arrived very quickly. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Matt I.

Yelp
Ate here again and LOVED IT! The staff was so friendly and seemed proud of their profession. The MANY choices for the meal options were all awesome and not comparable to places I have been in the area. I'd eat here every meal if I could! Cannot say enough POSITIVE about this place!
google avatar

Devonna S.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for brunch last weekend and were pleasantly surprised. It's in sort of an obscure spot, but it nice on the inside with a full bar, window stools, tables and booths on the inside. Our server was lovely and came to check on us a few times during our meal. I wanted the spicy bloody, but she recommended combining the spicy bloody with the garlic infused bloody and it did not disappoint. It was served with a Modelo chaser, which was nice. I ordered what I would consider a standard breakfast of eggs, toast, ham and hashbrowns, while my husband ordered the steak and eggs with a side of pancakes topped with bananas. The portion sizes were good and the eggs were nicely cooked. Everything in fact was delicious. I would definitely return here and explore more of their menu.
google avatar

Isiah K.

Yelp
Was there today for a birthday breakfast. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is great for families, brunch dates, etc. I ordered the Salmon and eggs and let me tell you it was delicious. Sorry no pics this round. I will be visiting again and hopefully will get pics. I ordered the painkiller as a cocktail :) It was a celebration! I definitely recommend you try this restaurant out. Many great choices available from salads to sandwiches. You will be ready to take a nap after your meal because of the large portions. Check them out!
google avatar

Ronda D.

Yelp
Get. in. here! Oh it is just so super good. Come and try whatever is on the menu. Eggs are cooked perfectly- The mango sliced with the beets, onions are delish. So enjoyable.

Yelp
Super cute and new restaurant. The menu, the menu is huge. I love how much variety of food there is to choose from. Literally as someone who does not eat or have many options at usual brunch spots I felt like I had a variety of choices to make. I came here via a Yelp event and the restaurant was rather empty around 2pm. The host welcomed us as we arrived and we did not need a reservation and had our choice of seating. The lighting here is very nice as well. I had a chimichanga and it was a good portion size for 1 person. Tech comes as 3 small ones and I felt that 2 would've been enough for me. The salsa I didn't remember being a highlight but I def used all of it. The drinks here are very nice. I had a Serrano Margarita and it was just spicy enough without being overpowering. They have daily happy hour special as well so it makes me excited to go back for a drink during their happy hour. Parking is a little dicey as it's just street parking which is a downside.
google avatar

Jen W.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this gem yet??? I have been several times and it is such a great little spot. The flavors are all super fresh and the staff is really friendly. Parking can be a bit tough but definitely worth it. There is a huge variety sure to please anyone you bring - sweet or savory people have so many options. I have never had the same thing twice. The interior is both clean and cozy - an easy spot to spend time with friends and catch up. The booths feel private but it is easy to get the attention of the wait staff if you need anything, and I have never felt rushed at the end of a meal. I am excited for many more visits in the future to Orenda! Another bonus - they are part of the CityTins Diversitin, so you can get $10 off of a $25 purchase if you are dining in :)
google avatar

Mario J.

Yelp
My wife and I buy a Milwaukee City Tin every year. The Tin we purchased focusses on Milwaukee restaurants owned by people of color. On Sunday, we went to a restaurant called Orenda Cafe located on 35th & National. This place was a pleasant surprise, my wife ordered the salmon and egg platter which was according to her very good. I ordered the carnivore omelette. I added spinach and caramelized onions, the omelette was huge and quite good. This is definitely a restaurant that I recommend.
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
I visited Orenda Cafe for the first time this morning and loved the food, drinks, & atmosphere! It is clearly a popular spot because for my party of two we were there for almost two hours due to wait time. That's the only reason I give them a four stars is because of the wait but the entire staff was lovely in checking in with us to let us know when we'd be getting sat or getting our food. I got to try their specialty drink today of a Watermelon Margarita & if you are ever visiting when they are serving it you absolutely need to try it! Not pictured because I was too excited to eat, but the Pecan Caramel Cakes were absolutely delicious with candied pecans throughout the pancake and on top! I highly recommend both! I would love to go back to try the rest of their menu!
google avatar

Regina W.

Yelp
This is a fantastic neighborhood restaurant. It is very clean, and the food is amazing. The service was outstanding. We had green eggs and ham with pancakes and waffle fries, salmon, spinach, potatoes, eggs and a garden salad. Please go . . . You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Found this little hidden gem in the South Side of Milwaukee, the chilaquiles are so authentic. A great portion of food and service was great! I would come back! Drinks hit the Spot! They have drink specials every day, today was $5 Bloody Mary's
google avatar

Carrie K.

Yelp
Very good food. The bloody marys are one of our top favorites so far and we have had a lot of them. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Kelci M.

Yelp
Must eat at place for breakfast/brunch! Food is super good and fresh! Also not pictured the Eden omelette- the goat cheese was fresh and good quality

Kimberly B.

Yelp
. The food came out so fast after I ordered it, I felt like it had to be premade and in the back, just waiting to be reheated with each order. The pancakes were ice cold. They were definitely pre-made and just reheated. The waitress was nice, but never returned until she brought my check. I don't think I would return.

Yelp
Great food, lovely place, and sweet people serving you your food and beverage. This is an awesome place.

Yelp
Orenda Cafe is a new breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in Silver City, just off 35th and National. We had been seeing good reviews so decided to check it out for Sunday breakfast. Menu wise, you'll find interesting spins on classic dishes like s'mores French toast or an avocado mango toast. There are many dishes that have a Mexican flair, along with burgers and sandwiches for lunch. They recently added brunch drinks and cocktails too! The interior is very pretty - decorated in restful blues with comfortable booths and chairs. Service was super pleasant (but I think they're figuring out their groove a little, nothing wrong with that). The Mister went with steak & eggs ($11) which comes with potatoes (you can get bacon hash & you should!) and toast or a pancake. That's a lot of food! He liked his meal, especially the bacon hash. I opted for the carnitas hash ($12) which comes with two poached eggs. My hash had a super interesting, tasty mix of veggies - spinach, roasted cauliflower (yes please!! I could have eaten a whole plate of just that), radishes and peppers. My pork was fall apart tender but had some kind of sweet marinade on it that I didn't 100% love. Some pieces were stronger than others so YMMV but overall, I liked it. Other things to know - they serve Anodyne coffee - yay! And local, delicious Urbal Iced Tea - today's was strawberry lemon & it may have been one of the best iced teas I've had in a restaurant. This is a cool place with interesting dishes served up by really nice people. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Second visit...tried the chicken poblano bowl/skillet, and it was excellent. Everything was amazing, chicken was tender and plentiful; potatoes were larger than most skillets I've had but cooked perfectly and onions, peppers, eggs and hollandaise blended very well together. Great service as well, great spot to grab lunch or breakfast.

Yelp
We love Silver City and Orenda is a great addition to an already exciting food neighborhood. Everything on the menu looks great so we had to go two weekends in a row to enjoy brunch options! I got the Carnita con Huevo and it made my husband jealous so we returned next weekend so he could enjoy it. The pork was very tender and flavorful! I particularly enjoyed the salsa, it would have been good with anything but really brought the whole dish together. And our waiter gave me the option of the bell pepper hash or the bacon hash - over two weekends I had both. You can't go wrong with Orenda's hash! On our first visit my husband got the Jack Fire French toast. It was great, his reverts merely stemmed from the eternal sweet v. Savory brunch debate. Both weekends we had friendly service and it was great to see the place bustling with a diverse array of folks that represent the awesome Silver City neighborhood it calls home! Great to have another lovely brunch option!
