"Modern-inspired Italian dishes, such as carne cruda, filetto di vitello Rossini and ravioli carbonara, are prepared in kitchens that are visible from the dining area. The appealing wine list includes a selection from the famous Tuscan wine-growing estate, Ornellaia – from which the restaurant takes its name. You are waited on by a friendly team assembled around host Antonio Bordone, who puts his heart and soul into serving you. This gem of a restaurant is located in a beautifully refurbished building that was once a bank – the door even opens automatically. Sleek design meets historical-looking sandstone walls and decorative art, lending the distinctive high-ceilinged space a modern and elegant Tuscan ambience. At lunchtime there is a small selection of additional dishes." - Michelin Inspector

Ornellaia restaurant is a very special place located in the heart of Zurich and run by the passionate Bordone brothers, Antonio, Head of House and Vincinto, Head Chef. With Vincinto in the kitchen this is by far, the best Italian restaurant in Zurich. Vincento's menu offers a variety of classic Italian dishes including freshly sliced and delicate San Danielle Prochuitto, delicious homemade pastas, tender lamb chops bursting with flavor, beef tenderloin and fish, complimented by an impressive list of verticals of Ornellaia and Massetto. Dining with the Bordone brothers and their warm attentive Italian staff is a treat that transfers you from Zurich to Italy. The interior of the restaurant is sophisticated and contemporary in a warm intimate space with art tastefully complimenting the dining space. The tables are well placed and comfortable tables with Cassina Cab chairs. The open kitchen is beautiful and adds a personal connection to the kitchen. The food is fresh and delicious. We paired a 2015 bottle of Ornellaia with delicious Paccheri in a Ragu sauce; lamb chops in a veal demiglace reduction and pan seared sole. Every taste was mouth watering. Highly recommended. Reservations required.

Google
An Italian restaurant in an old town Zurich. Foods were fresh, well-prepared, and delectable. Breads, olive oil, and balsamic were very good as well. We ordered octopus, pasta with red prawn Tatar, and lamp chop. Loved them all. Nice ambience. Well decorated.

The food was executed at a high level, and the ingredients were of moderate to high quality. That being said, the combination of most dishes felt rather unusual and didn’t harmonize well. The Lobster Carpaccio on the other hand was really delicate tho.

Delicious food! The octopus was the most tender I’ve ever eaten, with amazing char from the grill. The beef ravioli was melting in the mouth with a tasty sauce. Finally, the tiramisu was prepared just before serving which gave a nice crunch to the biscuit. The service was excellent, friendly, and informative. Overall it was a great experience and I’d recommend it with no hesitation.

Amazing authentic Italian food in the heart of Zurich with excellent service and knowledgeable staff. Authentic. Understated. Over delivered. Highly recommend.

Google
Ornellaia exceeded all our expectations on every front. The food was absolutely fantastic – each dish perfectly balanced, creative, and bursting with flavor. The wine selection was equally impressive, and every pairing elevated the meal to another level. What truly made the evening unforgettable, however, was the service. Special thanks to our waiter, Leonardo, who delivered a level of hospitality that was nothing short of outstanding. He was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely passionate about providing an exceptional experience. If you're looking for world-class dining, exquisite wine, and top-tier service, Ornellaia is a must. We will definitely be back.

Google
The food and the service were very good. The restaurant itself is also very nicely decorated. I can recommend and will definitely come back.

Google
This a nice italian restaurant and I recommend you visit it if you are in the neighborhood. Making a reservation would be a good idea as it gets pretty crowded during dinner time. Food was good, ice cream and wine as well. It is nicely decorated and lighting is good as well.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Ristorante Bindella. Our waiter was very sophisticated and knowing of the menu. All staff greeted us and were extremely friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We weren't rushed and were made to feel at home. Now onto the food! Our starter was a burrata tomato dish that was super fresh and seasoned perfectly. Primi were beautiful homemade pasta dishes of tagliatelle al ragu and mezzaeune shellfish. The ragu was rich and savory. Mazzalune had right amount of citrus zest to complement the shellfish. For secondi we ordered turbo and house specialty osso buco. The turbo was nice and flakey with a light sauce of capers. The veal was tender, laden with a delightful zip sauce atop risotto. Desserts were splendid. As we were celebrating my birthday, my panna cotta had a candle in it as they sung Happy Birthday to me. The panna cotta was light and fruity, delicious! The tiramisu was creamy with a rich coffee flavor. What topped the evening was the spirits cart which included an extremely smooth, aged grappa. Overall it was an incredibly enjoyable evening. Next time in Zurich I will frequent Ornellaia again!

Yelp
Avoid: Terrible Steak, Ornellaia Out of Stock and Wine List Incorrect, Decent Pasta I'm a wine collector and admirer of all Italian cuisine, so I was really looking forward to my visit here, but this was a major letdown. Shockingly, the restaurant (despite being named after and owned by the winery) doesnt even have a library of back vintage Ornellaia -- not even what's on their printed menu. The pastas were good and well portioned, but the filleto di Manza was incredibly disappointing. The steak was unseasoned, chewy and tough -- hard to do with a filet mignon. Service was also a bit awkward and unwelcoming. Perhaps this was just an off night, but overall this was awful - hardly deserving of a Michelin star, abs frankly I'd be surprised if it lasted at all as is.

Yelp
We had a very nice dinner. The service was wonderful. The food was good. I had the eggplant Parmesan. My companion had cacio a Pepe. We enjoyed our dinner. They have very good olive oil to dip the bread in. I made a mistake and ordered a bottle of water instead of a carafe which cost me Fr.11. Glad I put on some nice clothes. It's pretty fancy restaurant , not shorts and T-shirts attire.

Yelp
Maybe it wasn't a good choice after having gone to Milano and Lugano, but it was decent, a little too much condiment's and sauce. Excellent service and ok wine pairings. Five course was too much, maybe four is enough for a person.

Yelp
After a week plus of Traditional Swiss food, it was time to break into something new. Wanting to know what a more progressive restaurant was like, I came hear on the recommendation of a friend from the area. The collaboration of Ornellaia, one of the current stars in the Super Tuscan world and local backers you're going to experience opulence considering it's near one of the most expensive stretches of real estate in Europe. During lunch they have a more affordable 2-4 course menu to not shatter the bank. Did that and a glass of wine to experience the luxury:) Takes on Roman, Tuscan, and various other regions come into play as paralleled to basically the whole staff who're from various regions of Italy. The meal was quite filling and I could have spent the whole day here. Staff are friendly and took great care of me. So if you want to be pampered a bit in Zurich and move away from traditional cuisine for a bit, this is a solid bet
