I was blown away by the quality of the service, atmosphere and product served. Their drinks are served with nice tableware, trays and side glass for water. There is also a self-serve tap for sparkling, which is nice. There is variety of bar seating, bench seating and soft seating. The lighting is cozy with this really elegant lighting. I really appreciated the cleanliness and polished presentation the entire place has. They make a ton of their product in house, you can see a large open kitchen behind glass right as you enter, and they also roast their coffee in house as well. I ordered a cocao shot and and espresso. The first was which was a not-too-sweet champurrado-like thick chocolate drink. Their espresso was one of the best I've ever had. It's not for everyone as it's a very bright, flavorful, fresh and pungent citrusy espresso that clearly exhibits its single origin characteristics. If you're looking for a muted old coffee that is dark roasted to an indistinct profile to cover up with milk and sugar, you won't find that here. The staff here were clearly engaged, knowledgeable and enthusiastic for delivering a great experience and the products they serve.
Lastly, LOTS of cafes charge more, upwards of $5-8 for an espresso drink with with trendy add-ons, garnishes and twists. I have no idea how Oro Cafe manages to offer such a stylish, comfortable atmosphere, better ethically sourced products, freshly made in-house (labor, labor, labor) menu items that all while being on par or cheaper than the competition.
