The Biggest D.C.-Area Restaurant Openings in June 2025 | Eater DC

"A kosher sushi concept that serves everything from fried specialty rolls and classic California rolls to poke bowls and multi-tier omakase experiences, plus appetizers like onigiri and edamame; the underground bar was approved by the Vaad of Greater Washington and marked its opening with a mezuzah, and also offers a slate of house cocktails (highballs, a blossom martini, Old Fashioneds) to pair with the sushi." - Emily Venezky

Oro Nami is a real standout in Washington, DC. The restaurant has a modern, stylish ambiance that feels both comfortable and refined, making it a great spot for a night out or even a relaxed meal. The sushi and other menu items are fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with a nice balance of flavors and presentation. The bar also has a solid selection that pairs well with the food without being overwhelming. Another plus is the location—it’s close to the capital and easily accessible from major airports, which makes it a convenient choice whether you’re local or just passing through. A wonderful option for anyone looking for quality kosher sushi in a great setting.

Great vibe, tasty (American style) sushi, and friendly service. Great to have a kosher sushi place in DC. Entrance is marked with a small sign by the street. Door leads straight to stairs down to the restaurant. It's not a very big place, but there were a few free seats Saturday night (it was mostly full), which surprised me.

Came for lunch. It's hard to find because there's no sign outside and entry way is a random door between two stores. The food is great.

With a Fantastic staff and a great menu (especially at the bar), DC finally has a new can’t-miss sushi spot. I ordered the omakase and the spring rolls, both were excellent and i can’t wait to have them again. My personal recommendation has to be the blossom martini, perfect for the season and goes well with the sushi.

Gotta be the best kosher sushi I’ve ever had. The quality of the ingredients is just always superior. And Sam, the manager, is always super warm but professional too.

Google
The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect for a night out! Just a note, it is a little hard to find if you don't know where you are going. I recommend looking at the satellite view on Google before, so you can get a good feel for where you are going.

It’s alright. Food isn’t bad but it’s not amazing sushi or anything. Vibes are pretty cool. Didn’t look at the drink menu much but saw they are selling sake that is $11 a bottle for $20 a glass which is wack.

Yelp
DC lacks a specific kosher sushi restaurant and not sure there is one until New York, so we and many others were ecstatic about its opening. Our experience by far exceeded our expectations. My wife and I came here for a young adult special opening event last Thursday. The ambiance resembles a small shop at a train station in Tokyo that also looks like a nightclub that with an Alice in Wonderland theme with a couple booths for eating. The staff was all very friendly and was willing to bring drinks to the booth since I have a cane, but my wife helped with that. Unfortunately, the place does not appear wheelchair accessible with a flight of stairs to get down. The food and drinks were all amazing. In fact my wife says it is some of the best quality sushi fish she has had and I agree it is among the best. The prices are not bad for the location, quality, and ambiance although we prepaid $50 a person for a sushi buffet they set up on the side tables (that I suppose they will use chairs for couples at) with an open bar which would have costed a lot more for us usually. We look forward to returning as we can eat everything as my wife is allergic to shellfish and I grew up more kosher but now Maryland kosher now where I eat crab but not like shrimp.

Yelp
There are not many kosher restaurants, especially not kosher Asian restaurants. Eating the food here you can barely tell. It's kosher all the roads are done beautifully and it's delicious. I highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is awesome. It has a relaxed speakeasy vibe with friendly staff, great food, and a terrific whiskey selection (ask for Harrison at the bar--he's wonderfully knowledgeable). I've been to a lot of sushi places, and this one compares well with the best. Just wish they were open on Fridays and Saturdays!
