WOW! Orofino has always been my favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg! The gluten free options taste magical!!! I had the best meal today. I started with the green pea soup. It was the perfect starter! It was light and flavorful with a little crunch on top. Then for dinner I had Orecchiette Bari with gluten free pasta. It was INCREDIBLE! The flavors were perfect! I was full, but I had to keep eating because it was so good! Not only was the food perfect, so was our server! Josh F was fabulous! His energy was amazing and made an already perfect dinning experience even better.

Wow wow wow wow wow- we keep coming back! This was our 4th or 5th time here, we don’t even venture out to try anywhere else when we visit Fredericksburg. Best Italian in our opinion. Love the features of the different regions in Italy- super unique touch! Luca was our server and he was fantastic! Very friendly and personable and provided great recommendations. The pear fiocchi special this weekend was unreal! 🤌🏽 the veal is one of our favorites too!

During my time in Fredericksburg I noticed there were several Italian restaurants in the historic area so I decided to try one, and this place did not disappoint. From the start, service was very good, attentive and sat us quickly as we had a reservation. The atmosphere did feel little dry with boring open space indoors, but they also had an outdoor patio which seemed more cozy. FOOD — it was great.. we tried a number of apps, meatballs, rice balls, bruschetta and we also tried a pizza as an app. All were very good, fresh and made to order. The bread however was average. We shared main courses - Lasagna, gnocchi, and pomegranate salad. The salad was decent but the other two were very good, loved the gnocchi. Deserts were good, we tried the tiramisu (average), lemoncello (very good) and chocolate cake (rich, but good). Overall great food experience and will return when in town.

This place is incredible! The food, the wine, the dessert! I was impressed. While a little pricey, it is well worth the cost. They have a pizza oven and excellent seafood. Wife ordered the lobster ravioli. I had the Carbonara with an added fillet of salmon. Absolutely delicious!

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Their friendly demeanor made us feel truly valued as guests. Service was prompt and efficient, exceeding our expectations at every turn. We were very impressed with the consistently good service provided. It's a place we would gladly recommend for its pleasant atmosphere and excellent staff. Frost was amazing!

Wow! Orofino honestly exceeded all my expectations. First off, the restaurant is absolutely charming, the perfect place for a romantic date night. The service was the best I've had in a long time. Our server, Jefferson, was amazing. Informative, polite, attentive, and super friendly. I was genuinely impressed with him! And the food?! Delicious, great portion sizes, flavorful, fresh!! I cannot say enough about how great my dish was. Even the Gelato was perfect (cookies and cream, yum!). The only negative? I'm not a Fredericksburg resident, so I can't visit more often!

Orofino for the win again! This was my boyfriend’s first time here, and Orofino totally delivered (as always!). They’ve got a new seasonal menu with some pumpkin-inspired dishes and a mouthwatering list of specials. The pumpkin ravioli from the October menu sounded amazing, but the pasta special that night — pear and ricotta–stuffed pasta in a walnut Gorgonzola cream sauce — sounded even better. I ended up going with the classic carbonara to play it safe… and while it was good, I totally regretted not going with one of those specials 😂. My boyfriend ordered the pork chop special, and wow — it stole the show. It came on a bed of roasted potatoes and asparagus, with a drizzle of truffle cream sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor. We were both super impressed.

We loved this cozy Italian spot while we were visiting Fredericksburg. Such a good find! There is a cute little alley way with outdoor seating that makes it feel like you are in a little Italian village. The indoor space is just as lovely. Our server, Jack, took great care of us, and explained the menu with new monthly offerings and specials. Everything we ordered was fantastic. My husband loved their homemade balsamic on the salad and I loved their pomodoro sauce. The oil they serve with the bread had a little kick and was so good! We got a piece of their pistachio cake to go - too full to eat it there. It was delicate, light, and the flavors worked well together. Next time we are in town, I would love to try the pizza and the desserts. You really can’t go wrong with this gem of a restaurant.

Food was so delicious! We truly enjoyed our meals. We were a group of 8. We ordered appetizers Capresse Mozzarella and meatballs. They were incredibly delicious. We also ordered pizza, salmon, steakMeals, 2 different chicken meals. Everything was cooked to perfection! The service was excellent and the restaurant ambiance was pleasant and so enjoyable. I highly recommend this place, especially the salmon meal which was one of the best I have ever had.

We went to Orofino's for a birthday dinner, mostly because the menu's got something for everybody and because we've never had a bad evening there. We had a 7 o'clock reservation and were seated before I had time to get impatient -- which is saying something. The restaurant is clean and bright with enough room to move. Our server greeted us right off with a smile and a basket of little bread bites that could've made a meal all on their own, especially with that seasoned oil they serve for dipping. I ordered the house red -- a Sangiovese -- and it had enough cherry notes to make you think you were sitting under a tree in Tuscany. For dinner, we went with the Veal Chop from the regular lineup and the Rockfish from the specials board. Both were cooked just right -- tender, flavorful, and plated like somebody actually cared. The servings were fair for the price, which in this world of shrinking plates is a small miracle. Service was first-rate, too. Attentive without hovering -- the kind that makes you feel looked after, not looked at. Orofino's is one of those places where you leave full, happy, and already thinking about what you'll order next time.

I can't rave enough about Orofino. I've visited multiple times and the food has never disappointed. The menu is not extensive but there's something for everyone, including pizza made in their brick oven (a few bar seats available). Service is always great and prices are very reasonable. I love that they have monthly featured dishes from different regions in Italy, and they always bring out special dishes during Restaurant Week. In my opinion, Orofino is one of the best restaurants in Fredericksburg. Don't miss it!

The pesto gnocchi was one of the better decisions of my day. I added chicken. It was creamy flavor explosion with every bite. Regarding the service, it started off rocky. The critical listening skills were not there. If a manager or team lead had stopped by our table for a greeting, then I would have shared the specifics. Alas, they did not. We carried on with our meal with a mental note of who not to receive as a server in the future. The gnocchi will be worth the return trip. I will try it over and over again with a different protein because I'm hooked.

Had a special of Rock fish and my wife did the short rib. The fish was perfect. My wife loved the short rib but I felt it needed more gravy. Had a bottle of the house montepulciano at a great price of $30 which was tasty. The service was good.

What a hidden gem! We are from Northern VA and anytime we go near downtown Fredericksburg this is our spot. I'm an Italian food snob, growing up with an Italian Grandma, and this place is always spot on. Small menu...more boutique Italian...and they have great seasonal dishes that are packed full of flavor. I got the Pappardelle Al Ragu which was excellent. Noodles were thin and didn't feel heavy. Friend got the lasagna...probably a big enough portion for 2. Last person in party got their lobster ravioli special...white sauce with a honey glaze. It was almost like eating dessert. Service is great and while it's a small restaurant you never feel crowded. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food!

I ordered soup and lasagna. The soup of the day was flavorful and the lasagna was one of the best I'd ever tasted. The waiter was attentive and did not bring everything that ordered out at the same time. Some places bring the appetizer, main dish and dessert out practically at the same time! I had a lovely glass of Cabernet and I was NOT rushed. The ambiance was perfect. I would definitely recommend this Italian restaurant to others looking for quality food!

We stopped into Orofino for a quick bite after a long day on the road and were pleasantly surprised. The bread service with olive oil was especially delicious. Our waitress was warm, personable, and attentive. I ordered the gnocchi pesto, which was excellent--the pasta was perfectly cooked, and the creamy sauce was rich and flavorful. My partner had the veal chop, which was tender and beautifully breaded. We were seated in the outdoor alleyway, which felt both pleasant and private--a nice escape from the street while still enjoying the fresh air.

The food was great, service was good, Ambience was ok, walls were blank--- --(;---) They need to get some artwork in there stat. *** My idea is that they should feature local artists. We were seated in the back room.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in downtown! The Orecchiette imy favorite pasta on the menu. You have to get the Trio Bruschetta! We just got their pizza for the first time which is what prompted this review because I know now after going so many times they can truly never do wrong!! Also, I forgot my book once and they called me to make sure I got it back! That said, Orofino has my heart!!

Outstanding Italian food. Orofino had been recommended to me by several friends and I'm so glad I finally went. I really enjoyed the St. Germain Spritz and the Orecchiette Bari. The sauce was excellent and the spicy sausage really gave it a good kick. Very large portion was a pleasant surprise! The meatballs were good too. Our server, Luka, was amazing and took very good care of us. We were glad it was not too loud and we could hear each other.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this quaint spot in downtown Fredericksburg. A nice balance of casual dining that allows for a special event celebration as well. The service is friendly, professional and attentive. The food hits perfectly. Traditional Italian cuisine with specials that allow for some exploration. On this visit, we stuck with their lasagna and Carbonara. Both of these never miss. My significant other said the lasagna is the best she has ever had and her Dad is Italian. Don't tell him. Really good Sangria btw as well as a tasty tiramisu. Don't skip their gelato either. Prices are very reasonable.

Loved the bread and dipping oil. Caesar was a little over dressed, normally the other way around, but ate every bite so maybe my complaint is not valid. Carbonara was spot on. My dinner partner did not drink so I was not able to work on the wine options to test that aspect. Service was attentive and did like the atmosphere. I will be back and look forward to other menu options and more wine time!

How this doesn't have higher scores is beyond me. I have a favorite Italian restaurant where I live but it doesn't compare to this. Outdoor spaces, indoor spaces, great wine selection, daily specials, monthly specials, something for everyone. We tried this on our last night in Fredericksburg and it was the perfect evening for a great trip. Wonderful service by Josh but more importantly, the food was exceptional. My hubby likes quantity but I love quality. We had both. How I wish this restaurant was closer to Chattanooga! Beautiful dining. Thank you!

Great atmosphere, food was delicious, and our waitress was on point. The food came out super fast and the bartenders who made my espresso martini nailed it.

Another great experience! We were greeted at our table with our server remembering us which is always fun. Sadly we can't recall her name but she had glasses and fun hair so easy to spot next time so we can have her again. We came this time to try some specials. My husband came in wanting a special of the day he saw the previous week but found out they had sold out and switched to a different item. The amazing server was able to speak to the chef and they made an exception so he could try it. Our dishes were truly delicious. I wish they'd add this chicken to the menu or do a chicken Parmesan option with it! The cream sauce was beyond incredible. There's a reason this is our favorite spot!

Place was awesome! I thought the portion sizes would suck since it's a semi fancy Italian place but Orofino did not disappoint. They give you a ton of food for the money and the service was also on point. Definitely a must hit spot if you're in the area!

Wonderful place from food, atmosphere, service and the owner. Friends surprised me for a birthday dinner and we all highly enjoyed our visit. Martini was tasty, great selection of wine. We shared arancini for appetizer (meat and cheese), and we all got different dinners that we all highly enjoyed. Service was top notch. Super helpful and friendly staff/owner. Inside is super clean and inviting. They have outdoor seating in an alleyway btw buildings and it was great to sit outside. Will definitely be back soon!!

We have not stopped talking about our meal since we left last night. From the service to the food everything was fantastic. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I visited Orofino for the first time during their Valentine's Day fixed menu event. I was very impressed with the menu and the portions that came with it. The true highlight were the wine pairings. They matched perfectly and really elevated the meal. Overall the experience was fantastic but there were some small things that could have been elevated my experience. Having a fresh wine glass for each wine would have been nice and our crème brûlée was missing the strawberry sauce, but these are minor issues. I'd go back in a heartbeat and recommend anyone check it out for quality Italian food.

Wow what a gem! Meatball appetizers were great. Buffalo mozzarella was amazingly fresh. Had salmon, pizza, chicken and steak meals- everything was delicious.

had a fantastic time. the food was incredible, we had the mussel starter, the broth was rich and delicious, we had the special, lobster ravioli which was incredible, and the monthly special bucatini pasta, fantastic. and then chocolate cake for dessert, it was beautiful and delicious. the atmosphere is upscale casual, very comfortable. a comfortable space between the table. the lighting was bright, the music set a nice vibe. as hard as it is to top the food our server Luca was stellar, he was well versed in the menu and answered our questions quickly and efficiently. his suggestions were impeccable and his wine pairing with our meals was spot on! he was exactly where he needed to be throughout our meal, we never waited on anything. he never hovered over the table but was right there if anything was needed. we'll definitely be back! Well done!

I will say I was kinda turned off when we walked in and the hostess asked us (her first question): Do you have a reservation? I can't stand when that's the first question out of a host's mouth. It makes me feel like I'm unwanted. Another host came over (maybe the manager) and asked us how we were and sat us immediately. He explained they had a large party, which explains the hostess' initial question. The food was top notch. Our server was great- she was thorough and patient, which I always appreciate. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of chocolate cake to begin. Then I ordered a Margherita Pizza, which was so good! I definitely would come here again, if given the opportunity. It was such a nice, calm atmosphere, and a perfect way to spend a Sunday night!

A lovely restaurant in Fredericksburg serving delicious Italian food. One cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but I'd recommend their Torinese pizza, mozzarella sticks, and gnocchi! The staff are incredibly friendly and it's a lovely venue with both indoor and outdoor seating.

First time eating here in downtown Fredericksburg and enjoyed it. We sat on the patio on a nice breezy day and it was charming, quiet and you could smell the kitchen which was wonderful. The bruschetta was incredible. I had mussels which were fantastic- not gritty and the tomato sauce was delicious and not acidic at all. My other half had the carbonara and loved it. Only negative is we didn't care for the caesar. It wasn't tossed and they used obviously boxed/packaged croutons. Service was good but our server forgot our wine so it took a while. Otherwise we would go back.

Food was delicious!! The pizza is a perfect size for one person. Such a nice non-chain italian restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg. Clean interior, a mix between homey and fancy vibes. The service was super friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend if you're looking for good Italian!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This place is amazing. The decor was sparse but they made up for it with the absolutely amazing food. For appetizers, we got the arancini and the trio of bruschetta. Simply outstanding flavors in both. The combinations on the bruschetta were perfect. For entreés, we had the spaghetti carbonara and vongole. Again, both delicious. Finally for dessert, e had the chocolate mousse and lemon cake. Simply the best way to end the meal. I would come back here in a heartbeat but too bad I live over an hour away. Highly recommend this place.

The calamari was fresh, tender, and cooked perfectly. Our margarita pizza was de-lish and the service was great. Wish we were in the area longer so we could go back again.

Just wanted to add that I was back In Fredericksburg and this little wonder did not disappoint. Outstanding again! The only disappointment of the evening was the expresso martini. It was horrible. But, the food and service far outweighed that one mishap.

The food is exceptional. I often get the day's special. We love it! The lemon cake is one of my favorite desserts ever and the Trio Bruschetta is something you don't see elsewhere. And it comes with friendly service. Highly recommend!

Being from out of town we found this jewel! The food was delicious. The waitstaff was exceptional.

Food and wine are still authentic but something seems different about the service. Lunch today felt rushed, a bit pressured - and they were almost empty - it's Friday and we wanted to relax and enjoy a leisurely time together over aperitivi, etc. We were not asked about antipasto so we didn't. No one highlighted the April theme of Tuscany. Pasta portions are huge now -husband's penne special would serve a family of four as primi piatti, but no small side salad or vegetable, and we were told we have to "ask for bread with lunch on weekends" which was two teeny ciabatta rolls. My giant ravioli were slightly tougher than al dente. They brought the check while we were still eating dessert (lovely lemon cake and an affogato) before we asked for it. Didn't feel like an Italian meal the way we like and expect there. Maybe next time?

Bellissima! I love this place. It is my favorite Italian in Fredericksburg! Authentic food and great service.

Every time I've eaten there, I've never ordered the same thing twice. And I've never had a dish I didn't like. The bone-in veal chop is excellent, and the lasagna is the best I've ever had. And also be sure to get a wood fired pizza to share with the table. Everything (pasta, sauces, dough) is house made, and each month has a menu of specials devoted to a region of Italy. This place reminds me of the places I ate at in Italy itself. We're lucky to have it in our neck of the woods.

Great place for a larger group. Even at 4pm they were super busy! Definitely make a reservation. Sheila was awesome; very attentive and took great care of us. The carbonara was the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked Al dente pasta with the right amount of creaminess and richness in the sauce. I thought it was going to be on the saltier side because of the pancetta but it was balanced very well. The Arancini is a must! It comes with 3 cheese and 3 meat. So crispy and rich with flavor.

The owner is nice, friendly staff, good food. If you order a calzone, be aware that it is absolutely huge

Food service and vibes were amazing! The staff had great recommendations! Even offered gluten free bread for one of our group. They were inclusive and pretty awesome.

Are here for the first time last night in the little alleyway. The service was some of the best and most qualified I'd ever received, and my food was exceptional. I had the September rock fish special and an affogato for dessert, which was delicious and refreshing without being too heavy. It's fine dining quality, but a pretty laid back atmosphere for diners. Will definitely return. The inside of the restaurant was very nice as well, though we didn't eat inside.

I called to make reservations and we are always served by a certain server, she's a doll and makes the experience so much better, she's knowledgeable about the menu. She's amazing. When I called I made sure to find out if she'd be there when we come, I was assured that she worked from 10-4 and that she'd available. When we were sat, we had a completely new server, I mentioned to our server that we had specifically came to have this waitress be our server. He said he'd talk to the manager. The manager came over and said that she'd come say high, that she's now off and giggled. He did not remotely care. Usually the food is good but this time it was flavorless. The manager never came over to check on us or anything, I shared my opinion of the experience as we left he came outside in broad daylight and yelled at me and told me never to come back. Management reflects service. We'll never be back.

I have always wanted to dine here . My husband is Italian and we love Italian food. Came here in a busier night but was seated upon arrival . Atmosphere was calm and relaxing . I ordered lasagna and my husband got veal . Both dishes were flavorful and delicious. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. We will definitely be back to get our Italian fix .

Our first time there, our server, Grace, never brought bread. We were unaware it even came with our meals, until the table next to us who had a different server received theirs. After our entrees were served, she never came back to follow-up, .We were going to order dessert, but didn't have the opportunity We had to ask another server to get our check. Food was ok at best and service was abysmal. We are new to the area and we're looking forward to making this a regular spot, but will not be coming back.

Ordered the margarita pizza and the pesto gnocchi with chicken. It was all amazing. The gnocchi had a great pesto/ garlic flavor and the pizza crust was so crisp and delicious! One of the best in FXBG!

Always enjoy coming to this restaurant during my work travel. Easy to make reservations and the staff is always able to accommodate larger parties. Their pizza and pastas are great. Their Italian wine specials are always good.

This establishment provides some good food. Staff are professional and courteous. If you prefer to go on a weekend then I suggest you make reservations. You won't be disappointed
