Awesome spot for breakfast!! First of all I loved the fact that this restaurant is on the corner of a beautiful residential street; so it feels like your having a home-style breakfast right by home and the food is amazing! The pancakes are rich and fluffy and you can taste the quality of their ingredients here, we lived every bite of food we had and highly recommend you come check this gem out!

Google
GREAT brunch spot in sac. servers are friendly, fast, and food is absolutely delicious. vibe is very nice and the patio has warmers (if it’s chilly). also dog friendly

Stopped by on a whim on a Friday morning. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. There were a variety of seating options: inside, outside under a covered patio, and a few tables out front w/o a covering. The location is cash only, but they have an ATM available. Looking forward to returning with friends!

Breakfast at Orphan feels like stepping into a morning that already knows what you need. The space hums with bustling energy, sunlight stretching across the patio, a communal table buzzing with conversation, and the kind of quirky decor that makes everything feel a little more personal. I sipped a rich black coffee that arrived just in time to meet the first stretch of hunger. A stack of pancakes followed, golden and generous, alongside an omelet filled with comfort. Nothing felt rushed, but everything felt ready when it needed to be. The place fills quickly, and a short wait is part of the ritual. So is the cash-only policy, worth remembering, though it somehow adds to the analog charm. If you like your breakfast served with warmth, flavor, and a sense of place, Orphan delivers with ease. Highly recommend for slow mornings that still manage to start just right.

Google
What a hidden gem with great portions and creative food. I really enjoyed the Dragon potatoes and fried jalapenos. The secret since they don't take reservations is when you first get there is to put your name down.

Google
Me and my wife moved to Roseville CA in April 2023 and since then we have eaten here for breakfast probably close to 20 times if not closer to 25. This place is amazing and worth the wait which there may be because they are just so popular. The food is ALWAYS fresh and tasty, proportions are consistently the same, and I think the price for dishes are great. The item in this picture is the dragon potatoes with 2 eggs added as a side. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. When ever family comes to visit me and my wife this is the place we take them. Make sure to watch where you park since the restaurant is located inside a neighborhood.

Google
Orphan I met up with a few buddies of mine on a Friday (4/26) afternoon for lunch. Never been here before. Orphan came up as a search result on Google AI maps based on top rated restaurants with vegetarian option. Is it top rated? Here is my impression. The place is neatly located in a quiet neighborhood on a street corner near McKinley Village. Parking is limited; I had to park in the neighborhood but makes for a nice walk in. The place is cozy, clean, and welcoming. They seat you only when everyone in your party is present. There’s outside patio seating which is cool. There are several menus a breakfast and a lunch. We were given the breakfast one and had to look up the lunch menu online. Our server was pretty chill. Friendly but not over bearing. He was able to answer our questions and offered a few recommendations. Service is a 4/5 (ding for having to wait to be seated and given only the breakfast menu). Our food arrived hot from the kitchen within 15 minutes of ordering. I ordered the vegetarian bowl but added grilled chicken protein to it. It came out great! Presentation is spot on and the taste was excellent! Perfectly seasoned and not too saucy. Chicken was delicious. Definitely a solid 5/5. The meal set me back about $25 with tax and tip and water. A little pricey for lunch. The value to price ratio is an easy 4/5. I will definitely return with the family and try out some of the other items on the menu. If you are in the area looking for a relaxing place to grab a nice bite to eat, this place will not disappoint if you are okay with paying more for lunch. Keep in mind this place ONLY accepts cash. No credit cards. They do have an ATM inside. This can be an inconvenience for some folks. Overall experience dining here is about a 4/5. Just wow!!!! Such a great little gem! Make sure you bring cash. They do have a free ATM inside-. I totally took them up on that! The medium pour over coffee choices were a nice touch!!! Asked the server to assist in food choice- and did not disappoint!!!! That breakfast was not only pretty. But was so tasty!!!! Definitely recommend! Healthy and made to order.

Yelp
Service: Wait time just depends when you go, took me and my amiguita 15ish mins to get seated. Our server had a lot of tables, so some items were forgotten at first but then remembered. It happens, and she was probably the kindest one there with cool tattoos! Food: The Rosemary Potato's are a must! They are very savory and delicious. I wished they served more :( I felt like they poured a fat amount and took some out, and then-some. Like 1/4 of a cup :/ The look liquified jam - WOW! Hella good on the white toasty bread! the egg tasted like egg, nothing special - Orphan Cooks don't be afraid of that butta They don't have ketchup btw just hot sauce Dip your potatos in maple syrup - I'm being for real, it's a trip and it's good. Amiguita always gets her avocado scrambled as her go-to! She recommends it, but I went for something a lil more basic :) ‍ The Vibe Gay! Both meanings here :) love it I think the outside is a lot prettier than sitting inside tbh the vines are so earthy and pretty. I didn't like the way the inside floor looked, put some pretty piso y'kno, but cada quien I guess maybe its the look they're going for

Yelp
Orphan is located in a neighborhood that gives it a home cooked meal vibe. There is limited street parking with various day and time restrictions but it shouldn't be hard to find a spot. There is no online reservation so you'll have to show up to get a spot in line. For a party of 6 on a Sunday around 11:30am, it was about a 30-45min wait. There is somewhat limited seating as there is only ~6 tables of different sizes inside and a handful of small tables outside. The menu was very limited in the variety of options compared to other brunch spots. The July's special menu did peak my interest though with their Smoked Lox Bagel. I'm a fan of smoked salmon so this was my choice for brunch. It was decent. A fair amount of smoked salmon but the bagel was on the tougher side. Other than that, it's typical. For $18? I'd say that's pretty expensive. Some things to note is that there is no price mark for monthly specials. Why not put the price there and save the workers the time to respond to every table asking how much they are? One thing that stuck out was how we weren't informed about the charge for extra for vanilla custard on the pancake or even the jam. Funny enough that the house made salsa was free. My friend asked for medium rare steak and was served well done. There was a bunch of flies hovering around our table which was irritating. All in all, I didn't really have a good experience and so I'm discouraged from coming again.

Yelp
Went back the next day to try more stuff. Went with the savory pancakes, the tamale breakfast, and steak eggs again. I'm beyond sold. I second the first review. Ridiculous. Great job. If the weather is nice, sit outside.

Yelp
The atmosphere inside is super cozy and they are open 365 days a year, that's insane hats off to them for that but the breakfast itself was decent. The bread was a little dry, looking back at the pictures I think maybe they just forgot to give me butter with mine as well. But I should have asked, I did in the end ask for jam and they provided me with some. The rosemary bread itself had great taste but yea just a little dry. I think with butter it would have been better so just ask, don't forget like I did. The potatoes were quite tasty as well, but I found it a little odd that the establishment has no ketchup. I really would have loved some, but the waitress did offer some salsa so that was nice. Coffee was decent as well, but I don't think the light roast was my thing. The waitress was a gem though and brought me milk alternative which was so nice of her. I'll deff come again to try some other things, because based on other reviews I hear the pancakes are great. Very excited to come back and try something different, everything does feel quite fresh and the atmosphere is quite quaint. So I'll come back for sure! Bring cash when you come check this place out or there is an ATM on site.

Yelp
10/10 food - the pancakes were amazing! Love it, so happy I ordered them. The soy chorizo alone was not great / super oily - I wouldn't recommend. But I love that I could have eggs and meat and pancakes. All in one the other dish was the soy chorizo omelette which we substituted Rosemary bread on the side and it was the best thing ever we got the jam on the side and even that was delightful. The wait is always long, but it's worth it in the end. All the waitresses were very nice as well

Yelp
Can't remember the name of whaat I tried but it was delicious . It was rosemary potatoes , with black beans , avocado , house made salsa , and arm tortilla on the side . Also tried rhe hibiscus tea and it was refreshing . Our server was nice but the hostess or counter girl was just alright with her customer service skills . Neighborhood parking and chill vibes . Lots of vegetarian options !!!

Yelp
Orphan is a popular brunch spot in Sacramento that is located by McKinely Park and some medical offices. Street parking is extremely limited in this neighborhood so come early or scope out the streets. There's also no online waitlist or reservations so be prepared to wait in line. I came in on aSunday afternoon for 6 and it was about a 30 minute wait. They focus on classic breakfast items such as pancakes and scrambles but I'm glad they did have seasonal items. The service was attentive and quick but I was surprised that there was no ketchup. Also you have to pay for any extra condiments like jam or custard. Their potatoes are not crispy. The food was mediocre and I would not be coming back. I don't understand how it's so popular. It's a cash or check only establishment. I know it's out of their control but there were so many flies inside of the restaurant that it was hard to just enjoy the meal.

Yelp
Phenomenal breakfast/brunch spot in an unassuming location. The food was fresh almost from farm to table, and came quickly after ordered. I had the Rosemary bread, potatoes, and scrambled eggs with a side of sausage. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly, while the addition of rosemary was brilliant. Well worth a try if you're in the area looking for breakfast. Be prepared to pay cash though as they don't accept credit cards.

Yelp
This Sacramento gem is a must for brunch! Mots of their items can be modified to be vegan and it's truly delicious and worth the wait. The staff is amazing and they have indoor/outdoor seating and it's the perfect spot for everyone. Remember cash/check only!

Yelp
Beautiful May 18, 830am visit. Lucked out with parking, bam! And lucked out inside and got seated right away, bam! Busy, loud, the usual Orphan scene. Today's pancakes, one savory, one fruit special, were tough texture, chewy, definitely the bottom of the batter bowl. The fruit compotes on top were delicious. Servers pleasant and professional. ~~~~

Yelp
This is the best breakfast in Sacramento, hands down! They have both inside and outside seating, dogs are allowed, parking is usually doable, the service is friendly, feels like a super cozy, locals, family vibe. We just love it! The three best dishes, though everything we've tried is superb, the Dragon Potatoes, Blueberry Cornmeal pancakes and the Savory Pancake. So much flavor!

Yelp
I came into this restaurant expecting to have a delicious meal and boy was I disappointed. For starters, it was a fairly busy morning so we waited about 20 minutes before being seated. The wait wasn't bad, i understand busy weekends are what keep a business open. It was upsetting being sat 2 feet from where we were waiting, might as well have sat in our cars and got it to go. lol Anywho once I reviewed the menu, I ultimately decided on the Banana Blackberry Pancakes... man do I wish I had just made them at home. Aside from the pricing being insane, the amount of fruit puree provided for the stack of pancakes was laughable. My girlfriend had to order extra on the side for me which was another $1. I paired the meal with a house coffee which again was overpriced and refills were NOT free, you were looking at another $1. When it comes to the pricing of my meals this is typically not an issue but when the value of my meal/plate doesn't match the amount I spent, that's when I get upset. Side notes, they do not serve ketchup here... I thought that was a bit strange. They allow dogs here but inside which I also found strange. I wasn't a fan of that. Positive note, they play some good music. Overall, I was highly disappointed and will most likely not be going out of my way to come again.

Yelp
This place was amazing! We came for brunch on Saturday and were nervous when we saw large groups of people waiting to be seated. However, they were all waiting for an indoor spot, and we were immediately seated for an outdoor spot. I ordered the Latino breakfast quesadilla and savory cakes. Both were yummy but the savory cakes were the star of the meal for me--unique and delicious!! Service was good. It was hard to find parking--had to park a few blocks away. I recommend!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my savory pancakes! They were sweet & spicy - very unique & perfecto. Unfortunately, my friend didn't have the same experience with their plate. The steak was overdone, tough, and the waiter didn't even ask how she liked it cooked. We realized he did the same thing with our coffee. They have bold and medium roast flavors but he didn't even bother giving us options. Overall, I've been to better breakfast spots but I may come back for those pancakes!

Yelp
Hipster Hispanic vibe. Had the tamale breakfast meal and wife had the rosemary meal. They don't take credit cards but do have an ATM available. Tamales were good but a tad heavy on the sauce. Wifey liked the rosemary meal as the rosemary bread is really good with just a hint of rosemary. Probably will go back..cute little breakfast spot in East Sac.

Yelp
While visiting family, we decided to grab some breakfast to go (they were packed inside with long wait) from Orphan and enjoy it at nearby McKinley Park. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and our order was ready for pickup. We ordered a few different entrees. I went with the Dragon Potatoes - rosemary potatoes topped with carnitas, black beans, jack cheese, salsa, tomatoes, scallions, and cilantro, plus sides of sour cream, avocado, and two flour tortillas (I skipped the grilled jalapeños). I also added an order of the Rosemary Bread. The Rosemary Bread was fantastic - honestly, I could've eaten a whole loaf. Definitely a standout! As for the Dragon Potatoes... they were just okay. The carnitas had a different kind of flavor that didn't really hit the mark for me. I probably wouldn't order it again. I did try my son's coffee cake pancakes, and those were pretty tasty - super sweet and definitely delivered on the "coffee cake" name. Overall, I'd come back again to try something else and the bread alone is worth a return trip.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday morning around 10:30 AM with a friend. It was very busy, but the wait for an outdoor table was only around 20 minutes. The staff were very kind and attentive. Once in the table, they brought us water and patiently waited for us to look at the menu. We ordered the eggs lulu and the banana blackberry pancakes to share, along with iced coffee. The eggs lulu were delicious, the cream cheese paired very well with the eggs and veggies. The banana blackberry pancakes were also very good, the perfect sweet combination for the savory dish. I'm usually not a fan of banana pancakes, but the blackberries kept the banana flavor from being overwhelming. However, the iced coffee was a pass for me; it was too watery. Overall, the food and service were excellent, but the coffee was a miss. The cash-or-check-only policy is a downside, but they're upfront about it, so it's something to keep in mind when planning a visit.

Yelp
Place was good, and I probably would go back if the hankering for breakfast was deep in my loins when in the area. Parking is a fun adventure, but luckily the establishment has a map (indoors to find it) showing where it's fine to park. We ordered a few things, and they were all good. There really weren't any complaints. It does get busy, so please be prepared to wait for a bit during peak traffic hours. Food was filling and heavy on the stomach, and the portions of pancakes were really solid.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
The best thing in this place is the blueberry cornmeal gluten free pancakes. It is soo good and I get it every time I go. The day we went we also had the steak and eggs, but it was very small. I wish it was bigger... Service was quick and good and the place is very cute! The wait sometimes to go there is ridiculous tho!
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
There are so many great things about Orphan. It's a popular brunch spot so parking can be hard to find when they're busy but it's worth the wait. One thing before coming here, they do not accept credit cards, cash or check only. There is an ATM machine if you don't have cash. Service in general has been great in my experience. If you sit outdoors their outdoor heaters work well in the colder months. Pros: love their monthly specials. I love sweets and their pancakes are the best. I love that you can order 1 pancake or a stack. Their portions are big and everything is reasonably priced. Cons: parking can be hard to find when it's busy. Cash or check only.

Yelp
Orphan is such a solid breakfast spot - I feel like I'm never disappointed when I visit. We arrived on a busy Saturday with a party of 6 and were seated within 10-15 minutes thanks to their communal tables. Most of the food options are vegetarian, but they have some really great bacon and sausage options that you can get on the side. We ordered the Dragon Potatoes, Breakfast Tamales and just a side of eggs and bacon for our daughter. We both loved our entrees, the Dragon Potatoes came with carnitas that were very flavorful and I loved how the sweet tamales paired with the tang from the salsa verde on the Breakfast Tamales. They also have really great house coffee too! They have plenty of seating inside and outside - the inside is small, but the outdoor patio helps. The inside is also very open with lots of natural lighting - I think the building used to be an old garage, but don't quote me on that. Parking is a bit questionable sometimes since it is mostly residential street parking, but if you're lucky, they have a couple of spots right next to the building available too. Also, they are cash or check only, but they do offer a free ATM machine right by the door. Staff is always friendly and attentive! We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Pancakes. If you love pancakes, this spot! Called "Naked Cakes". 3 buttermilk pancakes. So simple, but I really be craving these pancakes at times. So soft and scrumptious. Just a simple pleasant sweet breakfast meal. Now, let me tell you about the Dragon Potato's. And it's not just a simple potato dish. It's latin style with juicy carnitas, black beans and fresh pico de gallo and a side of tortillas. Make sure to add a sunny side up egg to make your own breakfast tacos! Prepare to eat, because it is a PLATE! You Definitely get your money's worth. The vibe is super cute, indoor & outdoor seating, they do community style seating as well if you don't mind that. Cash only, atm available, tucked away in a cute little neighborhood on the East side of town. Usually a bit of a wait on the weekends. Always a good satisfying meal.

Yelp
So good. First time here. We ordered the dragon potatoes. And steak and eggs. Delicious. The dragon potatoes comes with carnitas. Very tasty. I would order that again. Everything we ordered was good. I can't wait to go back again. Service was excellent. Parking is very limited.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Their rosemary bread with rosemary potatoes were so flavorful. I had the avocado scramble and it was so good. The chives really elevated the flavor. Has indoor and outside seating. Our server Serena was friendly and attentive. Cash only business but they have an atmosphere. Super popular and busy place on a Monday morning. Only issue is finding parking in a permitted parking neighborhood. If the restaurant did have a parking lot I didn't see it. 44.00 for 2 people. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
CASH ONLY!! This place is always so packed. And for good reason. It is always worth the wait. The service is kind, quick and prompt, the food is always such a hit. I love seeing all the different groups of people coming, from a family with a new baby. To people sitting with their parents, or individuals who can either be friends or on first dates. All is welcome here. I've come here a few times for a bite to eat alone and have appreciated how easy this place is to enjoy. My husband states these are the best French toast ever. I believe it. Because I'm obsessed with the dragon potatoes on the menu. 10/10!! I add a side of over easy eggs and I am in heaven!
google avatar

Yelp
I love Orphan! This breakfast spot is check or cash only, so be prepared with it on hand. I've been here three times, and everything I've had is fresh, locally sourced, and absolutely delicious! Today, my partner and I ordered the savory cakes, and boy are you in for a treat with these! Our server said they're the best item on the menu, and it lived up to the praise. An order comes with three, fully loaded pancakes. You can literally see the bacon wrapped in. The jalapeños added the right amount of heat, and the cakes are great with or without syrup. The outdoor dining experience was pleasant with plenty of shade to keep us cool. I wouldn't change a thing, and I'm so happy that we got to start our week off here!
google avatar

Cassie B.

Yelp
Came here with friends on a Sunday morning! My friends arrived around 11:15 and were told a 45 to hour wait, we were seated by 12:15, makes sense for a Sunday brunch hour. When we were seated we were crammed into a table that barely fit the 7 of us so that was a little annoying. The server was attentive to us and we ordered our drinks, and she brought them back within 5 mins or so. We ordered our food and it came out very quickly for how busy the restaurant was which was impressive! I ordered the soy chorizo breakfast and it was delicious, the salsa was a perfect combination with the eggs and beans, I wish my tortilla was a little crispier but that's ok. Cash only is a little annoying but we ended up having one friend pull money and then split amongst all of us. Overall my friends and I had a good time at orphan!
google avatar

Alicia G.

Yelp
What a brunch spot! Nice patio space and delicious food! I can't believe that I hadn't been here before, but I will definitely be back again soon as the entire menu look great. This is not your classic greasy breakfast menu- think fresh, light, and a bit different. Don't miss the breakfast tamales!
google avatar

Ciera S.

Yelp
the food here is so good. I usually get the dragon potato's and they are incredible. The breakfast burrito, pesto scramble, lemon poppy seed pancakes are all really good too! I haven't tried something here that I don't like. The staff here are so sweet. Jazz and Serena are the best! I love coming here and sitting on the patio! Nice vibe and great food. Be wary of where you park! Some areas require permits as it's a residential neighborhood

Yelp
Orphan Breakfast House is a cute lil breakfast/brunch place in Sacramento. It's one of Sacramento's favorites. You'll expect to see a bunch of people waiting outside to eat here. My boyfriend and I came for brunch on Sunday and we waited maybe around 30 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, so if you're willing to sit at what comes first, it will make the wait shorter. He ordered the Grande Breakfast Burrito and I got the Soy Chorizo Breakfast. Our food came out pretty quickly and we grubbed in. The burrito was HUGE and you'll definitely be able to take the rest home. My boyfriend added sausage to his burrito too. It was very flavorful and they don't hold back on the ingredients. My Soy Chorizo was pretty good considering it being vegetarian. I did think it could have used a bit more flavor, but nothing the hot sauce couldn't help with! We also got a side of their rosemary bread with the jam and butter. This bread is something you must try if you love bread. You can really taste and smell the rosemary. I'd definitely come back to try the sweet breakfasts. I also noticed the coffee is a hit here! Do be aware that Orphan is a cash only restaurant and on the more pricy side. They do have an ATM inside if you don't bring cash!

Yelp
This place has absolutely amazing food and is super accommodating to any dietary needs!! Traveling is pretty hard with food restrictions, but this place made me feel like I could comfortably eat out, and have a good time too!! The outdoor seating area was lovely, and my husband and I really enjoyed our time!! Definitely recommend, btw their rosemary potatoes are to die for!

Yelp
Been trying to check this place out for a while. Always busy! Cute little place with cute decor. After looking at the menu we weren't sure this was our kind of place. We decided to each order something & we were both pleasantly surprised. The waiter was super nice. I ordered the Soyrizo scramble & loved it. Soyrizo scramble with eggs & jack cheese, over corn tortillas & black beans. Comes with a good amount of avocado and salsa & sour cream. My husband ordered the Banana Raspberry pancake and said it was delicious! I took a few bites & I totally agree. He said the coffee was horrible, too strong & tasted different. They have a small parking lot & street parking. Tell them you know Crash the dog & get a 10% discount. NOTE: CASH ONLY!
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
Cash or check only. When I was there the atm wasn't working, so I'm happy I had my checkbook! The service and food was very good and I love the vibe!
google avatar

Yelp
It is sooooo good! Well thought out menu. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable ~ memorized our very complicated and picky order and it all arrived exactly as we requested. Ambiance was clean, relaxing, and calm. We were lucky and there was no wait which I understand can be an issue there. Cash only!

Yelp
Nice little breakfast joint near McKinley Park. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's your typical breakfast spot but the food is made well and the service here is splendid. Their parking lot is tiny with about 5 parking spots but there's plenty of street parking around.
google avatar

Yelp
A surprising but very scrumptious brunch spot. It's in such a quiet neighborhood I would never have guessed to check out this great place! Keep in mind it's cash only. Everyone in my group ordered their breakfast burrito or omelet. It tasted very fresh, like ingredients were grown locally. there was little to no grease in the burrito. I loved every bite, their fresh rosemary bread was amazing! so fresh and fluffy with edge of crispiness. I really enjoyed the meals here. The waitress was amazing and attended to us on a such a hot day in Sacramento, she checked in many times if we need just cups of ice, extra plates, more water. She also attended to other customer dog's to make sure they had bowls of water. loved the service.

Yelp
My first visit to Orphan Breakfast House was right after they reopened for in house dining during Covid. They were serving people in the parking lot. The experience was nothing noteworthy. We went back recently for their specialty vegan items for the Sacramento Vegan Challenge. My friend ordered the Tofu Ranchero. There wasn't anything on the vegan menu that caught my attention so I ordered steak and eggs. I was wondering why their steak and eggs was only $20 when most of their breakfast items seem to be about $15-$18. When I got my plate I was really impressed because there seemed to be a lot of food on it. But on closer inspection it was a few pieces of beef put on a pile of potatoes. What I thought was a big piece of steak was actually potatoes. When I got my food, the steak was overcooked. I flagged down our server and brought this to her attention. She said that she would replace it. She was about to take the whole plate and I told her that all I that needed to get replaced was the steak. She brought me back perfectly cooked pieces of beef in about five minutes. I really appreciated this because I was so hungry. Besides the overcooked steak, I felt like my overall experience was meh. Parking in that area is a challenge. I thought that by coming on Sunday, where there was more available parking, that it would be easier to do so. Everybody else seemed to have the same idea so parking was still a challenge. I appreciate that you are able to seat yourself. However, we waited almost 45 minutes from the time we ordered until we received our food. I know they were extremely busy but I think a 45 minute wait for food is a bit much much. Last but not least, the fact that they only take cash is also a pain

Yelp
Great steak and eggs. Fast service. A few different coffee choices. Two nice seating areas outside.

Yelp
We came in ona busy Saturday lunch, I really liked the fact that if they are busy you can order and sit at the communal table. The service was fast and our server was nice. The food as also very tasty you can tell it's fresh and good ingredients. Would definitely come back again if I had the chance. The stake was a bit under cooked I asked for medium rare but you could tell it was cooked then chopped up because I still got many raw bites. Would have been better if they cut it then cooked.

Yelp
Tried the Grande Breakfast Burrito: rosemary potatoes, black beans, and scrambled eggs with jack cheese, roma tomatoes, and scallions, wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with a side of salsa. It was a quality product, but it was missing some flavor. Maybe I should have added the $1.50 tomatillo for a little extra zest?

Yelp
It's been so many years since I was last here for breakfast - maybe not since my last Yelp review here in 2016 - but came here for breakfast and it was great and I forgot how great it is! We arrived at around 8:30 am and there were tables available - I forgot that we could seat ourself but we could and we did. We got a spot on the patio and we received great service. The menu has expanded quite a lot since we were last here - SO many options and it took a while to figure out what to get. But then I saw the breakfast tamales and remembered how much I liked them last time so I got those with poached eggs and dark roast coffee. Basically what I had the last time - not remembering what I ordered the last time until I later looked at my Yelp review. Blast from the past! Everything was still delicious as I remembered. My husband ordered the Two Plus - two pancakes, two eggs and two bacon. We ordered a side of rosemary potatoes. He loved his order as well. It was a great breakfast. Two reminders - they don't take credit cards so bring cash! Also their parking lot is small so be prepared to find street parking.

Yelp
Steak and eggs, banana pancakes and blueberry lemon pancakes were excellent, good service, only thing bothered me was the street parking

Yelp
20 minutes wait for a table then a 50 minute wait for food. Our server did come by to apologize for the wait 2 minutes before the food came out. The curry was nothing special and I would not order again. The rancheros had good flavor but the tortillas are oddly very chewy. The large pile of cilantro as a garnish was a bit much as a sprinkling of cilantro would have been edible. Our server stated she was going to remove my companion drink from the check due to the wait but on the end we were charged. I had a lot of time to read the regular menu and it has no vegan items.

Yelp
For the price the food was not good at all. Eggs tasted like it came from a bag with it being super firm, flavorless, and rubbery. The Pancakes broke apart every time i tried to cut into it. Service wasn't terrible but probably wouldn't come here again.

Yelp
There's always a bit of a waitlist on weekends, but this is my go-to spot when people are visiting from out of town. One of my visiting friends typically doesn't like to eat out for breakfast because they're always disappointed, and even they said this spot changed their mind about that and they would come here again. I love their in-house bread and jam. FYI cash only and they don't do espresso.

Yelp
What a wonderful breakfast and brunch spot! It's in East Sacramento away from the busyness of downtown. We arrived at 8:30 for breakfast, which was good we got there early because when we left around 9:40 there was a line out the door! They have American breakfast items like pancakes, eggs and bacon, burritos, scrambles and French toast. They also have some Mexican style breakfast options. They have gluten free pancakes made with corn meal. No alcoholic beverages are served. I ordered the rosemary potato breakfast with a side of bacon. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Needed some salt and pepper but they were tasty. I asked for soft scrambled eggs and they were so perfectly soft! The toast was so soft and fluffy with rosemary. Yum! Altogether my breakfast with a coffee was $25 with a tip. Fairly priced. The service was awesome, our waitress was very kind when we weren't ready to order a few times! She let us just wave her over when we were ready. Cute spot to visit.

Yelp
Parking lot? Limited to like 2-3 cars, street parking can be a gamble. The best strategy is to arrive right at open Service? Great, we've been several times and never had an issue. Must know that it's cash only and no card for payment so be mindful Ambiance? Outdoor patio seating, indoor with various options (booth, chair, etc). Eclectic furnishings We've had: Coffee: 3-5/5, why 3-5 for the range? the coffee can either be epically brewed to perfection or taste a little reminiscent of motor oil depending on how strong it is, if it's too strong we just water it down Steak and Eggs Breakfast: 5/5, phenomenal, I've had it at least 3 times in a row. Everything blends so well together and the house made rosemary bread offers a crunchy goodness to top off the dish Savory Cakes: 5/5, my five year old daughter claims shes sweets girl but this pancake unearthed her true savory self. Light, fluffy and filled with bacon, cheese and jalapeños (we choose no on this option) these pancakes rival any fruit filled option. Would recommend to order with a pair of eggs on the side

Yelp
A nice neighborhood spot I came in early on a Monday, and the place wasn't that busy. I hear it can get very busy on the weekends. Parking can be a bit tricky. Be sure you don't park on the street in a residents only area. (Not enforced on Sundays. ). Their webpage has information on parking. The place was very clean, has indoor and outdoor seating, and everybody was friendly and helpful. They have dishes that will please the carnivore, the vegetarian, and the vegan. Gluten free items are also available. I chose the blueberry cornmeal pancakes, and they were delicious! A very generous portion, with plenty of blueberries. The texture of the cakes was perfect. You also get *real* maple syrup. They came à la carte , as do other items on the menu, so I had a couple of eggs in addition to my pancakes. They were perfectly over easy as per my request I liked the coffee, But they do charge a dollar for refills. my server asked me if I wanted a refill on my coffee, without telling me about the charge for the refill. I wish they would've told me. It's only a buck, but it's the principle of the thing. Tax is built in to the prices on the menu. What you see, is what you pay. They don't take plastic, but they do take checks and cash. They have an ATM that does not charge a surcharge, but you may be charged by your bank. there's a note on the ATM that says what most of the major banks charge. Prices were a little bit on the higher end, but very reasonable for what I got. I would love to come back and try more things. Thank you.

Yelp
I had high expectations for Orphan. I had been wanting to try it for several month (maybe years) and finally got the chance. I ordered the eggs Lulu with a side of sausage. My daughter had French toast. My husband had the steak and eggs. The croissant with the eggs Lulu tasted old and stale. I was expecting a fresh and tasty croissant. The sandwich was just ok. My daughter is only two and usually loves fence toast when we go out to eat. She barely touched it. She ate the fruit that came with my plate. My husband said the steak and eggs were good. He really enjoyed the potatoes. Honestly, idk what's special about this place. Very overpriced. You have to pay extra for meat. All the dishes are basically meatless. They don't have a kids menu so expect to pay $17 for a dish for your kid. I was not a fan of the Colombian coffee. And come on, who charges to refill your coffee?!! Luckily, I didn't want anymore but if I did, I would be pretty upset to pay extra for a refill of my coffee!! The heaters were nice outside.
